My property manager at the apartment complex I lived at filed an insurance claim for me to recover damages for a roof leakage that occurred more than once causing my computer equipment to short circuit and die due to the water/flooding. Since my renter's insurance didn't cover this (and it was a defect in the property's roofing), they filed with their insurance company (Sedgwick Claims Management Services). I was advised there should be no issue in recovering my damages. They even discussed directly with the insurance company and their adjuster also felt the damages should be paid for. Now, weeks later, the adjuster won't return any of my calls or emails. The only way I can get her to respond to me is asking my property manager to reach out on my behalf. Then, when she finally responds via email, she has the audacity to scold me for contacting her multiple times. Her reply to me was telling me not to follow up with her more than once and to allow her time to respond. I waited weeks every time and finally had to complain to my property manager that there was no response. So for her (Angela Johnson) to tell me not to follow up is absolutely inappropriate and unacceptable. I think two weeks between contact is more then an ample amount of time. She clearly just chose not to respond until I complained. Why does it have to take a complaint to get some decent customer service? After all that, her only response is "file is under review." All documentation, information, etc. was provided a month ago. Further clarification was provided two weeks ago by my property manager who told me their adjuster agreed this claim should be paid. Still nothing. Not even informing they are working on payment. Just that rude response telling me to stop contacting her. There really is no reason it should take THIS long for them to resolve when my property already accepted fault for the damages and asked them to pay. I tried so hard to be patient and understanding, but my adjuster has been rude, unacceptable, and elusive. I should be reimbursed for my damages yet they continue to push this aside.
Desired outcome: Reimbursement of $1,538.82 for the damages incurred
Fell at CVS on December 19, 2022 insured my leg, till now I had 1 phone call and 2 e-Mails telling me my claim # it is now March and I’m still waiting for a resolution, my e-Mails are not answered,
Similar story. The company is fraudulent. They set up their company in a way that is difficult to take legal action. The mistake I made was wasting time for 16 months before getting lawyers involved. I went through literally 10 different claims processors. In the end, none of them ever did anything. Either get a lawyer right now or move on. And unfortunately getting a lawyer is a headache because they have protected themselves hiding behind obscure third-party laws. Hopefully, class action soon or laws change.
In the future as soon as any sees Sedgwick refuse to deal with them and start a lawsuit again against whoever is trying to get you to use Sedgwick. Refuse. They are frauds and it's a waste of time.
If I would have known, I would have gotten a lawyer right away, Sedgwick is not interested in closing the claim, but delay and delay, hoping you forget about them, now it’s June 1st and still nothing
It’s September and no resolution, all the want is for me to forget about it and go away
If I would have know that before, I would have gotten a lawyer right away and
