Buyer, seller beware!
In may 2006 i listed my time share for sale with "sell my timeshare now". I shopped three companies before deciding, but went with this company because of the service and advice i received during my inquiries.
They did a market analysis on my time share and told me that based on recent sales of the same or equivalent properties i should list my unit for $5, 500 i was told that this was the average sale price and it should sell quickly if i don't increase that price. I agreed to their recommendation and paid the $497 fee and listed it for $5, 500.
I received no inquiries or correspondence, so in august 2006 i contacted them again. I expressed my concern and desire to sell the time share quickly. They told me that the unit was priced fairly but if i reduced it, they would sell it quickly. I agreed to reduced the listing to $3, 500.
They insisted i would get immediate action. It is now december and i have still never received and inquiry of any kind for my unit.
This company is misrepresenting itself to customers. They talk a great game but deliver nothing. They impress you with market studies but they give you nothing in writing. All they want is your $497. 00 then they are done. They tell you what you want to hear to extort the $497 from you and then good luck.
This company is a "scam", they claim to be biggest and they deliver nothing.

I was a Westgate owner for 11 yrs and never bought more points so I wanted to sell I was told I had to have more points to sell so I got roped in for more money than I can afford I’m a 70 something widow He lied thru his teeth and now I find out it’s not worth anything and was not allowed to exit until my legal counsel took it feds level before they payed me my money and ended contract. I recommend you get legal help if this company scammed you too. I suggest you go with an excellent one whos knowledgeable in this wild industry. Contact Social Justice Lawyer Mr Phil Ward royalbladeworks @g mail com for exit solutions.
Same thing happened to me. Still listed almost 2 years and not one interest can I get my money back for listing it?
The only relief to my frustration is realizing that are so many people that share this awful and frustrating experience. The MO has been the same than for everybody else. I lost 3,500 usd with 2 resorts. Needless is to repeat the experience share by the other victims. It has been exactly the same as reported. It is a shame that there are people so morally degraded and that there is no authority that take action. The have been operating like this for years and they continue laughing at us. There will not be any change unless this is imposed from the authorities. I am really surprised that no authority has taken any action to stop this scam. Where is the government when it is needed. Should we all considere a class action?
I listed my timeshare (3 weeks) with SMTN. The sales pitch was so convincing with all these promises of numerous offers, & thousands of people seeing the adds they would be posting. It has been nearly 2 years & nothing... I would like to cancel this sales contract, but do not know if that is possible. What a scam.
Sell my timeshare now is not what they seem. They tell you they are a marketing company. They put an ad on a web site that only people desperate to sell their timeshares go to. We fell for it. We are an older couple and feel we were scammed. They charged us over $3000 to put our timeshares on a website that is really not a marketing tool. The representative called us and told us actual prices what our timeshares would sell for. We were excited when he gave us numbers to use in the ad. It was a dream that we could recoup anything. He said "Let me give you prices that these timeshares are currently selling for...". There is no way you can contact them. I have tried to cancel these last three months. One of their representatives called us yesterday and they are not willing to work with you. My husband and I just sat last night and cried. We thought people were honest and not going to take advantage of elderly by their smooth tactics. We were fools. $3000 out of our budget really took a toll on us. Their phone call was harassing and insulting.
The reality is that most timeshares listed on SellMyTimeshareNow are worth only a fraction of the listed asking price (if you actually want to sell it). For me it isn't even the upfront fee that is the worst part of their business model, it is the fact that they aren't honest with people about what their timeshare is actually worth. Many timeshares they have listed might only sell for $1. They do have some good weeks at some resorts listed, but for $20K or $30K or even more. Those weeks might actually sell (or at least get offers) between $5K - $12K, but they will never sell at $20K or $30K or $40K. Maybe the owners are partially at fault here too, because most of them are trying to get back out the price they originally paid a developer for their timeshare and can't handle the fact that money is lost and gone forever.
I entered into an agreement with this company after being guaranteed by their sales agents that my Time Share would be sold quickly. They assured me that they got offers daily for Hilton Grand Vacation Club properties and the fact that I had 4800 points to go to the purchaser assured it! This was March 6th of 2011 and to date I have not received 1 call from these criminals. I just had to plan a last minute vacation to Fla. to use up the 4800 points as they were to expire December 31st. They not only guaranteed a sale, but were even responsible for setting the price on my property! I just spoke to a Customer Rep. requesting a portion of my upfront $ 1000 fee and got their company line. We never make any promises as to a sale, only that we will advertise your property until it is sold. I was absolutely guaranteed a sale! The Attorney General of NH should close this place down for being the SCAM operation it is! They have a RUNNING FEED of bids for properties across the Country... I would bet a lot more than the $ 1000 this scam cost me, that the Running Feed is all a bunch of lies! That in itself should be enough to CLOSE THESE CLOWNS DOWN!
First, never pay an upfront fee to sell a timeshare. No legitimate company does this. I called these guys to sell my timeshare and they told me for $1499 they would do all the paperwork and that my timeshare would sell quickly. Everytime I asked the question of how much my timeshare is worth and what have timeshares similar to mind sold for and this guy would keep giving me the run around. I told him I would think about it and left it there. I received about 8 phone calls trying to convince me to sign with them. That was my final clue to know if I signed with them I would get robbed. I did my research and I know how to buy timeshares for cheap (under $2000) for prime weeks. I learned also how to rent for a profit. And now I am sell my first timeshare on my own and selling it for $1200 for what I paid. Suggestion, research, have patience, don't get greedy, and never pay upfront cost.
There is and it's: http://www.dvcmagicresales.com/dvcmr/
I copied the url directly from the website. If you can't access it you might have a spam blocker. I just went on there just now and had no problems accessing the site. You can also Google DVC Magic Resales.
I've now sold both my Disney timeshare contracts through DVC Magic Resales (Animal Kingdom Villas and Aulani). My original comments above still stands. Everything is correct and accurate.
Ummm, there's no such website.

I listed my timeshare with this company. I paid just under $400.00 to list my timeshare with the understanding all i had to do was list the ad and their company would handle everything from there including closings. I recently reached an agreement and called sellmytimeshare to advise them and they referred me to another company to handle the closing portion. Should i had known this i would have not listed with them.
The only thing I recieved from sellmytimeshare was a $599 deuction from my checking account. They did not have the common courtesy to thank me or even acknowledge that I had listed with them. When I checked their listings none appeared to be my timeshare. Stay away from this company--they will take your money and run.
they told me my timeshare had a buyer and to pay 599 dollars for 1/2 the closing cost and after 3 or 4 months they said the closing date was dec. 14 heard nothing called them and the close date had been pushed back to dec.31st. That passed and I called them and they said, be patient. Completely frustrated with this company.
I also posted an ad on their website for $700. We lowered the price several thousand dollars as there failed to be a single inquiry. When I contacted them, they told me that they would not refund the money unless I had proof from another company that they sold the timeshare. That was never stated and they explicitly stated that a full refund would be given if the property failed to sell. I vehemently agree that this company is a practitioner of deceptive practices!
Dear Mr. Guzman,
I am very sorry to hear about your situation and your viewpoint that we have not met your expectations regarding the ad you’ve placed with our company, Sell My Timeshare Now.
You elected to advertise your property with us for rent as well as for sale, in each case electing to use the assistance of our staff to field offers on your behalf. We did receive offers to buy your Wyndham points. However, those people placing the offers required the transfer of your VIP status in order to consummate the deal and VIP status does not transfer on the resale market. Therefore, these were not qualified offers that the agent could bring to your attention.
Regarding your rental ad, your points are indeed valuable on the rental market. However, your requested price of $500 would not allow you to rent the required amount of points to satisfy the offers that have come in regarding your ad. For our rental department to qualify the rental offers that have come in from your ad, we would need to adjust your asking price in order to match the offers that we have received for your points.
We understand that this can be a tedious process at times. But the most important thing is that we are able to get you money for your timeshare. After all, one rental of your points would bring you enough money to essentially pay for the cost of your ad, thereby allowing you to continue advertising your property for sale or for rent, at virtually no cost, on our website. I will refer your case to the Manager of our Rental Department, Lucas Lanigan, who will make sure you are contacted in order to satisfy your rental requirements. On the brokerage side, our Sales Manager, Frank Laroche, will be contacting you to discuss how we can best position your ad to prospective buyers.
Again, we apologize if we have not met your expectations to date and please feel free to contact us toll-free at [protected] if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Steve Luba
