A guy from Skyline came to my home offering services for my alarm system. He told me that the company switch clients with the company that I have. So, I believed on this person because my system wasnt working well. For that reason I signed his contract. After several days I received a letter from my company to let me know they will come to update my system. When I called to Skyline they refused to cancel the contract. Right now they asked for 4,000 to cancel the contract. This guy lie to me in order to get me as a client for them. Now my credit will be affected and I'm a senior person that only depend on my social security.
Recommendation: Verify well when this people come to your home, even that they show you an ID, like this guy made to me.
Being told that Skyline was switching clients from your current company, only to find out later that this wasn't true, is a classic bait-and-switch tactic. It's understandable why you signed the contract, thinking it was necessary because your system wasn't working well.
It's outrageous that Skyline is now refusing to cancel the contract without demanding a $4,000 cancellation fee. You shouldn't have to suffer financially because of their deceptive practices, and your credit shouldn't be affected because of a decision you made based on misleading information.
