Skyline Security Management - Fraud
A guy from Skyline came to my home offering services for my alarm system. He told me that the company switch clients with the company that I have. So, I believed on this person because my system wasnt working well. For that reason I signed his contract. After several days I received a letter from my company to let me know they will come to update my system...

So we've been with ADT for a little over 2 years. $58/month. Never had any problems or issues. We had someone come to our door saying they were with Brinks home security a part of Skyline company. Kekoa from California sold us on what he claimed would be a cheaper newer updated system with them since we were no longer on a contract with ADT. The way we heard him is our first bill would be $68 then after that it would be $35/month. We would be locked in at that price for the term of the contract and they couldn't raise our rates. And we would have to sign a 3 year contract with them. So we agreed they made us do a phone call with someone from Skyline going over the "contract" witch at my own fault I wasn't really listening to cause I was taking the rep at his word. What I missed was the way the rep worded things. So it was $68 a month for the TERM of the "contract" and would go down to $35 after the contract was done. Meaning $68/month for 3 years then After 3 years it would drop to $35. Sneaky. Then the other thing I missed when he was smooth talking was its not a 3 year contract its a 60 MONTH contract (5 YEARS!) He said they would use our current sensors and would only have to replace the panel. I wanted to wait to have them install so I could sit things over but they pushed to have someone come out and install the VERY NEXT DAY. Ive never seen a company work that fast. I should of caught on. I wasn't thrilled but agreed. install guy came out and claims oh no we gotta put in all new sensors. Red flag number one. So then I started looking over our new contract a little closer and that's when I seen the 60 Months, and that our first payment was due October not November like the rep had said, the contract also states the company CAN raise our rates ONCE a year long as it's every 12 months.
You only have 3 DAYS to cancel (Thank God I caught all this on the 3rd day) thankfully I was able to cancel but BEWARE! READ THE CONTRACT!
Recommendation: Just Dont!
I'm a senior citizen 83 yrs old
I'm a senior citizen 83 yrs old. I had 2 salesman come to my door and said they were with Brinks Alarm Systems. I agreed to purchase one, nothing was mentioned about 5 yrs contract. My credit would not pas, so he used my daughter's credit to approve I, saying that the office would change to my name as it is at my address. Didn't happen. Was told my bill was $69.99 for the remainder, which is what I paid the first payment. When 2nd pmt came out of my account it was $ 77.99. I called them on it , was told it was taxes. Was also told I would receive coupons for $ 75.00 ( 3 coupons @ $25 ea.) To help with other utilities. When I called, was told they don't do that either! Was told they could not change the account to my name. This has been a complete scam & swindle. They are also associated with Skyline security Manage ment that handles the payments! Nasty, lying people in both companies. Please do not buy anything from them,!
The most dishonest company ever. They installed RING cameras, and took over an existing system. Within 3 business day (Install on a wed. called mon) I called to cancel the contract. A week later I called again to ask where the documents were. They email me a copy of the contract? So I called again and they told me I had to pay a cancellation fee and they had no records of my calls?! I have the e-mail from THEIR REP and they said unless I recorded all the calls they cant help me because I could be lying!? They asked for documentation and I jumped through hoops to get it, then they told me it was denied. This is the most dishonest, sneaky, manipulative company I have ever delt with.
Very satisfied with the upgrade, the salesman and the technician have been very helpfull
Excellent! Installed with fast pace. Very Informative! Makes sure all questions were answered before leaving. Gave me resources if I may need anymore help in the future!
Skyline Security is a great company. Samy is always ready to help with any questions or concerns. for Skyline & Samy.
The company was going door to door
The company was going door to door. and they promised good prices and services and promised it would pay for itself when I tell my insurance company about the the security system that claim was false. and they did not honor the price of 50 bucks and started charging me almost 80 dollars a month. i even sent in my cancel letter which they only give you three days even though they said you cancel with in the first few weeks. do not trust any security company i told myself this years ago but they got me yet again with their lying tactics. again i sent my cancelation letter but technically it was a day after the three days they give. what kind of scum bag moves are those. Their words you signed the note just in time but we caught the postage date was marked for the next day. first they lie to get you but when they are at fault they swear they can't do anything. i do not recommend any type of security service like this guys or brinks. your better off with a ring service for a fraction of the price .
Jerry was very nice and helpful with everything answered all my questions
I was impressed with Tom my installer that installed my Brinks security system. He installed it in a timely manner the same day. Tom was very knowledgeable and was very helpful when showing me how to work the system and the different things it can do. I will stick with Brinks for years to come
Jerry has been awesome with setting up my alarm system. He made sure I understood it in details. Thank you!
the installer was excellent with is work and very informative .thanks for sammy
They came to my home and represented themselves as Brinks, and stated that the company had merged with my current security company
They came to my home and represented themselves as Brinks, and stated that the company had merged with my current security company. The rep was all decked out in Brinks apparel, and told me that he was with [my company] showed me a picture of my monitoring panel and said I was due for an upgrade. He wanted to come into my home and switch out my panel, but I told him that my company didn't call to notify me. He asked me, "If I wasn't legit, how would I have your account info?" and showed me a screen with my personal data. I told him I was calling ADT to verify his visit, then the story turned into, 'well, our businesses were together, but now Brinks is going out and getting their customers back.' He gave me a verbal quote, could not email me any document with numbers without me signing first. I did not comply. Received a pamplet, which is the first time I saw/heard the name Skyline. I reported this incident with my company who is filing a deceptive business report to the state authorities in my state.
Sammy was the best . He installed my system quickly and accurately and answered all our questions and concerns . Brinks knows how to treat their customers . Definitely staying with this company for many years to come .
Outstanding work ethic. Very knowledgeable and professional with with work done.
Jerry was very professional installing my security ...he answered all questions and concerns that I had about it.
The tech was late to my install but kept in touch with me letting me know his arrival. Only reason it's not 5 stars but very satisfied with the system and his work
Our installation technician, Cedric, was professional, courteous, friendly and engaging
Our installation technician, Cedric, was professional, courteous, friendly and engaging. He upgraded our old security system from a different company and explained the new features of our panel and smartphone controls in a clear manner, answering all of our questions from a deep base of knowledge.
The salesperson who was our original contact, David ***, was enthusiastic and seemingly accommodating about upgrading our system for free and transitioning us from our previous security company, but he misdirected us significantly regarding what we were getting with our upgraded system. He promised things on the phone that were not delivered; and almost one month later, after leaving multiple voicemails for him to follow up on these promises, he never answered his phone, nor has he called back since.
We are somewhat happy with our new system, but please approach signing a contract with Skyline Security with great caution. They might not give you the upgrade that they offer on the phone, and they will not transition you from your previous security system monitoring company. You have to do that yourself, including any contract breaking fees.
Sammie came over late last night and got my my new system started and I am very happy with his customer service and was patient with my husband and I
Very happy with my installation, I definitely recommend brinks security system
This was one the best experience that I've had with a security company.
My installation was done today, and I can't be happier, Sammy helped me with everything, I couldn't even remember my passwords *** my iPhone and he assisted with retrieving them.
Had someone come to my door and stated that he was here to upgrade my security system because it required 5G and my old system would be outdated
Had someone come to my door and stated that he was here to upgrade my security system because it required 5G and my old system would be outdated in September. I thought that he was with the security company I had. The technician was here within 30 minutes to complete the install. Once completed, he told me he was from brinks home security but we then discover he was from another company called skyline security. He lied about everything and miss represented himself. I Read the contract it stated that I could cancel within 3 day. Called the same day and was on the line for over an hour and hung up and tried the next morning rlght when they opened. I talked to someone there. I finally was able to cancel the contract after explaining that I had 3 day to cancel and it was the next day. I Had them come out and remove their equipment. They wouldn't reinstall the old equipment. Then I had to call my old security company to make appointment to get it reinstalled which cost me more money. So if you see someone in your neighborhood saying they are here for a upgrade to your security system don't it is a scam. Do not trust brinks or skyline security.
This company should be investigated for fraud
This company should be investigated for fraud. I got a call saying they were ADT and wanted to upgrade my soon to be obsolete alarm system. I specifically told them I don't want a salesman and they assured me this was an agent to upgrade the system. The "agent" arrived and again stated he was an agent for ADT. He was going update my system and provide a "free" outdoor video camera. And, best of all, this was all coming with a 5-year price lock. After some time he said the would send documents approving the new equipment install. Come to find out, the paperwork was for a new company, Brinks, and the ADT was a lie. The 5 year price lock wasn't actually that, it was a 5 year contract. The 'free' video camera was actually $900 for something that I doubt is worth $200. They try to bury this in a complicated contract in an obscure web-based document service. I called immediately and told them I want to cancel. However, i'm not sure this fraudulent company would actually do that. So now I'm stuck waiting for fraud charges to hit my bank. Best of all, they canceled my ADT service for me, probably as revenge because I canceled the Brinks contract. Stay away. Call ADT before accepting any of these people at face value.
This is long but I want to give as much detail of my experience as possible
This is long but I want to give as much detail of my experience as possible. Beware of "friendly" sales people knocking on your door...on 10/12, a couple of people knocked on my door from Skyline, we talked for a while, building a little report, they told me that I would get a ring doorbell, the inside panel and door sensors, and a backyard camera. They also said that I would get 5 months free. The salesman even sent $50 to my cashapp to make the initial payment (a deceptive sales tactic). They use a tablet for you to sign the contract and scroll down to each signature line, and by this time you have no reason not to trust them. Next came the Installers, after installing the ring, panel and sensors they told me that they didn't have the backyard camera and would be back in a couple of days...about a month later I started calling the installer, he finally answered the phone and said someone was on the way, no one showed up. I called the company and was told the backyard camera and 5 free months were not on the contract and it's a 60 month contract. There are almost 200 complaints on here just in the last 3yrs, I wish we could all get together and file a CLASS ACTION SUIT against them for their DECEPTIVE sales tactics.
This company Skyline-Brinks is very misleading my 75 year old father was under the impression that this company was acquainted with Protection
This company Skyline-Brinks is very misleading my 75 year old father was under the impression that this company was acquainted with Protection One. A company he has been with for 21 years upon the time two men stop by my fathers home telling him they was there to upgrade his system and could save him money with the new system. Due to the fact one of the tech had information about my father on a small tablet and gave him a quote for the new service he told them to place the new unit in the home. During a conversation with the men they assured my father if, there need to be any cancelation just contact the number provided within 30 days. I contacted a representative name Wendy today 11/19 and informed her that we need to cancel this order that was placed due to my father is not fully mentally capable of making decisions and I handle all his affairs. She informed me that he signed a document that gave him 3 days to cancel the agreement "which my father don't recall signing". I explained to her multiple times that we need to Cease and Desist this agreement. Wendy basically just out right told me "NO" because it was passed *** 3 days and the agreement is for 6 months. She wasn't understanding nor helpful in this matter at all.
Difficult to work with and hidden gotcha's
Difficult to work with and hidden gotcha's. My mother entered into a contract with this company a year ago. She was lead to believe, by sales rep, they would cancel her existing security service. This was not the case so she paid for two services for a period of time. She force stopped the automatic payment and was able to get the older contract cancelled. My mother has since passed *** so I began working with this company to cancel the services. They are exceptionally difficult to work with and inconsistent in the delivery of the information they will provide you. I was finally able to get the contract, of course it is very difficult to read. You are expected to pay the remainder of the contract and mail back equipment that was installed. (My advise, pay it then see your lawyer.) A technician will cost $50 so you are on your own besides getting a shipping label. The manual does not contain instructions on how to disassemble the equipment so a ticket was opened with technical support. We'll see if I here from them. Last parting comment, talk to your aging parents about not failing pray to unnecessary sales. The security system she had was working fine. Individuals in their 80's *** not understand what they are signing, definitely the case with my mom, but companies like this don't care.
Skyline Security has moved into the Las Vegas market
Skyline Security has moved into the Las Vegas market. Similar to other reviews, we had a young man show up at the door. He claimed he worked for GE and was changing out equipment on their behalf. He had all our information from our ADT account. He said that he would update all our equipment at no charge because it was 2g and not capable of relaying trouble calls in a timely manner. He did show us his ID, Aliksander Higginbotham, as did his companion. I took photos of the ID's. However, he turned on the hard sell when I asked for time to check out his story. So we refused to sign the contract and asked them to leave. I followed up with ADT who knew nothing about it. I remember us upgrading to 4g and they verified it. I also called Brinks from the pamphlet they gave us. Brinks rep actually advised not to do business with them because they don't buy monitoring contracts. I called Skyline Security and they verified that Mr. Higginbotham was their employee. Basically, this is just a scam to take over ADT accounts. They cruise neighborhoods looking for the signs. In case this was also a diversion to see our security system for possible break-in, I also notified police. Please don't do business with a stranger at the door. Call your own security company to determine if your system needs updates. They do indeed target elderly. Don't fall for it.
I had someone knock on my door and offer a security system through Brinks
I had someone knock on my door and offer a security system through Brinks... since we have had the service it has not worked the entire time. I called brinks to get a run around, to then have them tell me they can't help me I have to call another company skyline to assist with anything to do with the system. Let's say I was not happy to hear this and then to be told they were not going to come take this system out of my home, because at this point paying *** a month for a system that does not work and is not through Brinks like we were made to believe. Brinks is suppose to be a top of the line security system and at this point they are trash... complete utter trash at caring for customers and also for not making it 100% aware to the customers that if ever there is a issue! They are not willing to help8 you and talk I circles just to get you off the phone. Then when you don't give up they send you to this other company SKYLINE that is basically runs u you in circles also and could careless to help the situation. I am beyond upset and disappointed with this whole fraudulent company. They are not true to what they say. I will not be stopping to get this resolved and do what is right! Shame on you Brinks/ now Skyline you are the lowest of low company to do this to families. Shame on you and I will be taking this further. Anyone on here that is having this issue please reach out ***
I can't believe how many other people are going through this.
Two people came to my door; a male salesman and a female trainee
Two people came to my door; a male salesman and a female trainee. The male salesman said that he noticed my ADT security sign, and did I know that there are some updates/upgrades now available? At this point I was not informed that they were not ADT until the final phone authorization, the female on the phone asked me if I knew that they were not related to ADT? I looked at the salesman and then I lied, and said yes. The salesman gave me a look of approval. When I got off the phone I told him I didn't know that they were not ADT. I asked about canceling my old system and the salesman said I signed something on the ipad for that and it would be taken care of. I was told that ADT would send me a bill and I would know my final bill of which Brinks/Skyline would reimburse me for. The salesman was very nice but didn't give me details. My goal was to receive a lower monthly rate. He said he gave me the employee discount. Within my 30 day window--so I thought--I called and wanted to cancel the service. At this time I was told I had to have done that within three days. So I was not able to cancel. Not only was there deception, but now I am having to deal with ADT in regards to canceling and waiting for the final bill; things that I was told were taken care of. If I hadn't have called ADT to ask a question I wouldn't have known that they didn't know I was canceling. So now I am being double billed; one from ADT, and the other from Brinks. I am sorry that I was looking for a more reasonable bill rate, and that I covered for the salesman.
Keep getting the run around
Keep getting the run around. I called in a while ago to cancel service. Contacted Brinks, I spoke with customer service. She said that the contract was cancelled, but to call back in a few days to make sure it was all done correctly. Called back a few days later. Only to be referd to skyline, now here is where it gets funny. The agent states that if I look into the email I would see that there are so many days to cancel (3) to be exact from what she said. And repeatedly told here that there system locked me out from reading the contract throughly. She said that makes no sense. Tell me about it. Then she proceeds to say that Skyline always buys customers contracts from other security services. I told her nobody mentioned that about my contract with ADT. Now the good part. She proceeds to tell me I never had a security system prior to them putting theirs in. Huh, that's funny. I was with ADT for 10yrs prior. Also how did Brinks/Skyline get my info about me having ADT? And to forge my signature to boot... And to also say we are no longer affiliated with ADT. But continue to tell me I was never with ADT. They gave me the run around for so long that they literally are driving me into a 60month contract. This system/company as a whole has been unprofessional and just thuggish with their tactics. First you lock out a contract that a potential customer can not read later on. To just passing *** phone around just to avoid not letting people go on with their lives without their service. They are like the ex that will not let go until you do something drastic.
Your rep, Gabriel, was dropped off at our Private Gated Community (no trespassing or soliciting) to sell alarm services to residents
Your rep, Gabriel, was dropped off at our Private Gated Community (no trespassing or soliciting) to sell alarm services to residents. He told residents that he got approval from the office to solicit which would never be allowed. He used scare and misleading tactics for our seniors..."there have been thefts in the area and there's something special arranged for the community". Several residents told him soliciting is not allowed and the on-site manager had to personally ask him to leave. After several resident complaints, I called the rep to make it clear the company is not allowed on the property. Moreever, we do not tolerate elder abuse and demand that any resident be released from any contract he pushed on them. His excuse was that he was just dropped off by his manager. I spoke with the manager, Angel, and explained the same rules at the property. He was more steadfast in the idea they were providing a legitimate service. However, the fact is that the tactics used were misleading and they should not have been soliciting our senior community in the first place. I also called Brinks. The customer service person did not even know Skyline. I made a complaint and asked to be contacted. No reply since a week. Clearly, this is similar to the solar installation campaigns...these sellers earn an 'installation payday' and Brinks subsidizes their actions to get the long-term income. Scaring seniors into installing a security system is wrong. Soliciting on private property is wrong. If the company wants to be correct, they should present their offer to the office, get approval from management, and/or request if they could host an information day without the hard sell.
I called and spoke to customer service the first lady who claimed she was a supervisor was BEYOND rude when I called back to speak to someone
I called and spoke to customer service the first lady who claimed she was a supervisor was BEYOND rude when I called back to speak to someone the second lady she advised me to email the screenshot as proof. I was installed on 04.29.2022 I never received the contract until *** 5th, 2022 @ 8:22AM when I HAD TO CALL FOR IT, on *** 5TH, 2022 after reading it I had until *** 4th, 2022 to cancel how do y'all expect us to cancel if we received it on *** the 5th, 2022 when I called for my contract? On top I had my alarm messing up on *** 4th, 2022 I called Brinks to let them know and they advised me they couldn't do much since I was with Skyline I needed to contact them. When they transferred me the office was closed, it was about 12AM when I called Brinks again I told them I wanted to go ahead and cancel they told me they couldn't help me I once again had to speak to Skyline. The sales representative never told us who to contact if we had issues, never told us what day we had until we can cancel. I am very disappointed in the service I can not see myself paying for something that does not work. They do NOT hold up their contract, they are failing to provide service that we are paying for. The back window sensor keeps going off, the front door sensor does not go off when opened until I hit it and it will only work one or two times. The back camera won't stayed connected even though the router is right by it. It's just excuse after excuse with each department. I have had a tech come out 2 times and the issue is still not fixed. When I told the supervisor I wanted to cancel when he came out he told me let's see if he can fix the problem along with we have 30 days to cancel. Well the service isn't holding up. Even after you send proof of the contract being sent after the third business day mark it's still the customer fault apparently. Guess I'll have to get a lawyer to look into this and the lawsuit they have already. Such a shame.
Skyline Security Management Complaints 21
Home security installation
Stay far away from this company and Brinks. A Brinks salesman sold me a security system that the installation was never done on. After contacting them and their technician, I called Brinks to cancel the service. I was told it was a Skyline Security job and was transferred to them. They said they could see there was missing equipment on the job but had never gotten a complaint from us. I told them that is because we had been dealing with Brinks. I told them they have changed me for months on a system they know is not installed and I wanted to stop charging me. They now want me to pay a cancellation charge to cancel something that never started!
Desired outcome: I want the company to stop charging me and cancel the "contract" that never started.

Canceling skyline home security
I’ve been attempting to cancel this service because I was deceived about payment and equipment set. As I attempted this o cancel the service of skyline security, I was given great resistance. I truly believed I was going to have a problem with them so I recorded all 4 phone attempts to cancel my service with them. I was lead astray on each call, but the forth call I was told that they are no longer able to help me because I’m recording the call. However, I got all the information I needed to file a complaint with the BBB and now I will file a complaint with our legal system and take them to court. I’ve been looking for the documents section from the email they provided to me to cancel this service but had been unable to locate it. When I called the security company back for help find it. They informed me they can no longer help me. Please do not trust this security company for home security.
Claimed loss: So far nothing at this time but they are asking for money
Desired outcome: I want to discontinue service with skyline security. Although I’ve told them numerous times to cancel my service. I’ve heard nothing from them.
Previous cameras damaged by installers when new cameras where installed
When I had the new cameras installed on 12/10/2022 according to my certificate. The installers came in to install the new cameras and I had previous cameras installed that I did myself. I told the installers directly that I was going to use my old cameras at my place of business so be careful when taking down the old cameras. The cameras where placed in my third bedroom and the I was going to take the cameras to install them that’s when I saw that they damaged four of the camera wires cut and pulled out of one of the cameras.
Desired outcome: I would like to be reimbursed for the four damaged cameras by the installers.

Brinks Home Security system
In December 2021, Adrian Guillen of Skyline Security knocked on my mothers door at 3950 Schefflera Dr. N., Fort Myers, FL, part of the Sabal Springs community. Solicitation is strictly prohibited by the HOA so we have no idea how Mr. Guillen obtained access into a Sabal Springs to conduct his illegal marketing campaign. He convinced my elderly, widowed...
Read full review of Skyline Security ManagementTechnician damaged my ceiling
05/18/2023 This was the 5th technician that has come to my home in a 7 month period since starting service with this place. Ruben Ramirez was the technician. His supervisor name was Cesar. He went into my attic and caused ceiling damage in my home. He cracked and broke my popcorn ceiling. When he came down he admitted to the damage he created. He told me not to worry it would all be taken care of. He took photos and sent them too his supervisor Cesar. Ruben told me all I needed to do was get estimates for the repair and I would be reimbursed for the repair. I spoke to Ceasars he confirmed this with me as well. I got 2 quotes. Findinding popcorn ceiling quotes was very difficult as not many do this anymore. I sent him the lowball quote. Now Cesar has changed his tune and is not will to pay me to have my ceiling repaired. My quote was too high for him. He did not want to go thru their insurance. And said he could pay under 1000.00 dollars only . Well the quote was not anywhere near that. People don't work for free and my home has to look like nothing ever happened. Now they are insisting I must use my insurance to file a claim. So my insurance will go up. But they will not compensate me for the damages or lower my monthly rates for the premiums going up? I am on a budget. Ruben admitted to his fault and damages and they want to wash their hands of it. This company wants to collect money from people but when damages occur from their employees they wash their hands of it. We know they have insurance that must cover damages if they occur. But they careless about the consumer. Had they hired knowledgeable people to begin with. The day this system was installed day one if it was done right I would of not had to have 4 other technicians come back to fix the problems each of the incompetent technicians made along the way. I want resolution to this I want to be paid the amount in full so I can hire the company to fix my ceiling. Each day that goes by I breath asbestos in my home.
Desired outcome: Payment to have my home repaired back to original state
Failed to uphold agreement stated to me in order to switch from ADT to Brinks security company In September 15,2020, a young man by the name of *
Failed to uphold agreement stated to me in order to switch from ADT to Brinks security company In September 15,2020, a young man by the name of *** came to my door as a brinks/skyline security sales rep and told me that ADT was a faulty system and that since my area was hit hard by the storm and power was out for 4-5 days, my hard wired ADT system was also out for those many days. After asking to see what system I was using went on to tell me that his company would pay 75% of the cancellation if I cancelled ADT and went with Brinks provided by Skyline. He stated that their system would never go down since it was not hard wired and connected to a cell tower? I agreed asking several times if he was sure I wouldn't be charged for the full cancellation fee from ADT. He told me to wait 5 days then call ADT to cancel and provide him with my ADT contract. I told him I was only with ADT a short while since March and he stated that it would be no problem. He also stated that he was in a contest for Best Sales Person for Skyline with the most customers and since he had sold a lot of systems in my area he was ahead by 2 sales and I would make three. I agreed stipulating that he was sure my contract with ADT would be taken care of because I could not pay for 2 security systems. He assured me not to worry. After the system was installed I spoke to *** on the 3rd day with reservations regarding the ADT contract which was the last day I could cancel the contract with Brinks and I was told to send the contract to his email address. Well after the five days I could no longer get in touch with *** and was placed on hold 5-6 times by Skyline only to be hung up on each time. I think it was a scam but I thought it was legit since Mario stated that Brinks use to be a part of ADT and wanted to know if the ADT customers were satisfied with their service and if not, Skyline was a better solution. I have called Skyline several times, asked and answered the same questions and been put on hold then disconnected. Is there anything I can do to get this resolved? I cannot afford to pay over *** to 2 security companies. Please honor your commitment or please take this service back! It is not honorable or trustworthy! I feel I was taken advantage of because I believed this person, and everyone I talked to during the installation.

On or about April 28, 2022, a salesman came to our residence to sell us a "Brinks" security system, when in fact the salesman works for Skyline, not Brinks. I agreed to pay $79/month for an upgraded security system, which included a front doorbell video and other video security cameras. The salesman did not provide me with a copy of the contract, and he also failed to inform me that I would need to install a new transformer since the front doorbell video camera needed a higher voltage to work properly. Three Skyline technicians came to my house to inspect the front video camera, and confirmed that I would need to pay for a new transformer. Skyline promised to install all the cameras for me and to provide working cameras. Since April 2022, I have not had a working front door camera. Skyline is refusing to cancel my contract and is still charging me $79/month although I do not have any functional security cameras at my house. The only document that Skyline provided was a "summary" which does not outline exactly what they promised to install at my home.
I am filing this complaint on behalf of my mother.: ***. ***, a salesman for Skyline, came to my mother's home selling a security system. He told her it was a life-saving system and talked her into signing a 60 month contract for this system. My complaint is: My mother is 87 years old. I was told she docusigned the contract and it was sent to her email. She has not opened her computer for over a year and she has never docusigned anything. I think he took advantage of her age.. She realized after he left that this wasn't right for her and called him that very day to ask him to uninstall. I ***, her daughter, had a conversation with *** the next day, and asked him when he was coming by to uninstall the equipment. He told me all the reasons she should keep the system and that she signed a contract and knew what she was getting. I told him he was not qualified to make that judgement call and let him know we wanted the system out. I finally did see a copy of the contract and there was a 3-day cancellation clause. When he did come by, I made sure my niece was there. He came with the intention of talking her into to keeping the system and when my niece told him the system was to be removed, he was very rude, and she had to ask him 3 times to leave. The contract was canceled, and equipment removed. My concern is that a lot of elderly people do not have family to advocate for them. and this company is taking advantage of that fact.
Brinks called told me that they are from Adt and replacing board because adt and brinks were partner now they separated s it's free of charge person call when came 2 bd oct 22 showed me plan about 5G cellular net work and 60 month contact for 40 + text and took my direct deposit bank info . They called verify info . Next day gonz ( Spanish name ) October 3 rd 12 pm came and replaced my ATS board with third skyline company board And asli asked to email to cancelled the service I did , today after called that they never been a part of brinks It's a scam going on I need a justice Thank you Nipa Oct 3rd
I am at my wits end. I was, and still am, in a contract with an alarm company. On 8/12/22, I receive a knock on my door from some Brinks sales reps. They came in and sold me on their security system. I was told that if I signed up, which I did, they would buy out my contract with my current company. This never happened and I am on the hook for both bills now. I have submitted the required documentation for the buy-out to the rep and found out that he never submitted it. They are now saying that the documentation I have is not good enough to proceed with the buy-out. The equipment has never worked properly since it was installed. Every time someone has actually showed up, they have to install even more equipment - that I have to pay for - for it to still not work right. I have made countless phone calls and have wasted countless hours in an attempt to get these issues resolved. When I do actually get ahold of someone, I am either transferred to someone new and have to explain the entire situation again, given a name and number to a specific person who never returns my calls, or am just disconnected. I have had an appointment for service techs to come out and then they never showed up or called. At one point I was able to speak with someone who confirmed that my equipment isn't even Brinks! They sold me on inferior products. I have asked for this faulty equipment to be removed and replaced with their actual Brinks equipment only to be told that I would have to pay for it. All I want now is to be released from my Brinks contract so I can go back to my original company since I'm paying for it anyway! I am a widowed senior citizen on a very limited income and can't afford to pay for two companies. I just wanted to be safe and now I feel like I was just scammed. I am beyond upset and frustrated and if I cannot get this resolved soon, my next step is hiring an attorney.
Salesmen saying they are with *** and they are with *** and destroying equipment
Salesmen saying they are with *** and they are with *** and destroying equipment. Refusing to answer phone calls. STARTED OFF WITH THE SALESMAN *** COMING TO OUR HOUSE AND SAYING HE WAS WITH *** AND WANTED TO UPDATE OUR SERVICES! HE WAS NOT THEY ARE SUBCONTRACTED WITH BRINKS HOME SECURITY. WE ASKED *** SEVERAL TIMES YOU ARE WITH *** AND HE SAID YES! THE ONLY THING THAT WILL CHANGE IS WHO ANSWERS YOUR ALARM CALLS! WE EVEN HAVE THAT CONVERSATION ON OUR RING DOORBELL APP AND OUR CAMERA APP IN OUR HOUSE. HIM SAYING THESE THINGS! SO WE AGREE. NEXT DAY INSTALLER COMES OUT AND STARTS THE INSTALL AND HE IS WEARING A BRINKS SHIRT! I ASKED YOU ARE WITH *** AND HE GOES SILENT AND CONTINUES THE INSTALL. My comment is on the unprofessionalism exhibited by your employees! From the local, PORTLAND OREGON district manager, the door to door salesman to your customer service supervisor,***sp)! The salesman said he was from BRINKS and had a I.d. hanging on a lanyard around his neck with his picture and the work BRINKS IN LARGE BOLD BLACK TYPE! He said that my area is moving to 5G and they are installing 5G equipment now. I had BRINKS for more than 25 years until ADT took them over. This the first part of the deception. 5G is not required at all, he is not a BRINKS EMPLOYEE as he claimed! I invited him in to hear what he was offering but before I agreed to listen I asked him if he worked for BRINKS, CONTRACTOR OR SUB-CONTRACTOR. HE SAID BRINKS. I ASKED HIM AGAIN BECAUSE HI ANSWER WAS WEAK AND LACKED CONVICTION BUT ASKED HIM HE WAS EMPLOYED BY BRINKS, CONTRACTOR OR SUB-CONTRACTOR. HE LEANED FORWARD TO PRESENT HIS I.D. BADGE AND SAID, "SEE, I WORK FOR BRINKS" which is not true. If he had told me SKYLINE I would have taken the company's name and did some research but since I had a good pprior relationship with BRINKS I let my guard down. I declined his offer but he returned several days later to take another swing at it. This time I agreed and he took my particulars down on a legal size form that was a yellowish orangey looking paper with lightly typed letters in the smallest type you would see on disclaimers on a small medicine bottle. He slid over to me the contract with the top obscured either by his right hand or the top of the page folded over to prevent me from seeing SKYLINE. He left but needed to return to get my wife's signature. I then noticed she wasn't co-signing the contract I had signed but another contract. He picked up his phone and turned away from us but I overheard him give the person on the line my wife's info. After he hung up I asked him if performed a credit check on my wife. He sheepishly said he did. I became annoyed because he did not get permi
They called me impersonating ADT and told me I "had" to update my equipment, as they were updating to a new system. I was told that unless I did so my equipment would not be monitored. Also that this upgrade would be free to me. So of course I set up an appointment time. This call was made about a week or several days prior to the appointment. Unfortunately I can't see my call log that far out. On 9-30-22 he (skyline representative) is in my home the representative states: "ADT and Brinks home system used to be together. They are getting a divorce and I am the lawyer they send to see who gets the kids" He tells me he can then switch me over to brinks free of charge. He says I am out of contract with ADT. Has me sign a handwritten note telling ADT to cancel my account. Then has me get on a recorded call stating that I know ADT and Brinks are not affiliated and all the other things that they need me say to cover them legally! Not mentioning that all this was proposed to me with lies, and those lies that would make me unassuming of any of the questions they were asking on this recorded line. It was actually Brinks customer service who made me aware of the lies and deceptive sales techniques that this company does to lure in contracts. And he (brinks customer service agent) gave me the number to skyline, and said if he were me he would call and try and cancel. After countless phone calls and listening to a very well rehearsed script they have refused to acknowledge the deceptive sales, and refused to terminate my contract. They said I had passed the 3 day window i had to cancel which no one stated to me. They told me my only option was to buy them out of a 59 month contract. Or try to get someone else to take it over. I am disgusted by this. It's a pretty terrible feeling to violated and taken advantage of by your security company. My skyline representatives names is: *** My account number is***.
Brink's called me on Monday 10/3/2022 to inform me that they were taking over my ADT account because their company's separated. Therefore, I set up an appointment for them to come to my house to change to their equipment on 10/5. My partner let them in that day and the transaction was completed. On 10/7, my partner called ADT to find out to cancel our account. ADT informed him they are not affiliated with Brinks and that it is a scam. I contact Brinks while he was on the phone with ADT and talked to *** who had my account listed under an email that I do not have-*** informed me that Brinks sales representatives are known to be misleading at times and that the office to cancel was closed as it was 5:15 CDT. He gave me the *** to contact to cancel my account the next day, 10/8/2022. He told me that I was within the 72 hour range to cancel. I am now going to have to pay to have ADT set up my equipment again. Also, Brinks has already charged my Wells Fargo account $71.99. I am very upset that I have been scammed and have to pay extra money that I don't have.
A Brinks sales person came to my home March 21, 2022. He knew that my 3-year contract with ADT was expiring in June so he agreed to give me the remaining balance I owed if I switched to Brinks. He said they did not require a term agreement. On Sept. 30, 2022 I called Brinks' service number (Skyline) to have someone come out to show us how to open the glass break detector to change the battery. An appointment was scheduled for Oct. 1 from 2-4pm. I would be charged a $50 service fee. No one showed up. I called Skyline to ask why no one showed. The customer service rep said the tech noted no one was at home. I explained I was home. I questioned what time he was here. The rep said he didn't note a time. I asked aren't they suppose to? She said yes. I called Brinks on Oct. 3 and requested they email me a copy of my contract (didn't realize I wasn't given a copy on March 21). I was told it would take two days to email it. I questioned why she just couldn't do it right then? She said the request had to go to a different office. It took three days before the contract appeared in my email. It noted that I had a 60 month agreement which I would never have signed for because the sales person said they didn't require a term. I told the rep I believe why it took so long to get a copy is because they were drawing up a contract and used my Docusign signature to look like I agreed to the 60 month term. I called Brinks yesterday (Oct. 10) to cancel the service. I was told I couldn't cancel until I paid the remaining balance of the contract which is $2515.46. I asked where to send a request for cancellation letter. She again told me that I couldn't cancel until the balance was paid. I currently don't have Brinks' service because I have switched to a different security alarm service company. All Brinks' equipment has been removed.
Alarm system does not work when I am away
Alarm system does not work when I am away. When the false alarms incidents were never addressed. On May 12,2020 a young man appeared at my door with all my information with ADT. When I asked how he got this information he said ADT was under Skyline Security umbrella. He asked how I would like to have all new updated equipment at no cost to me for $47.99 monthly. He wrote out the cancellation letter to ADT and filled out the paper work. But he never gave me a contract saying how long this service was for. Didn't know this until one of the many times I called regarding the false alarms and requested to cancel the contract. At this time I was told I could not cancel unless I paid the 58months left on contract. This was July 29. This system has never worked when I am away. I have called and called requesting the system be fixed. When the false alarms happened they offered no explanation or service to fix until I called the young man that came as a cold call. After several calls and text message he finally sent me a text after I explained that I was going to contact my lawyer he agreed to send someone out this was on Nov. 24, 2020 and that he would give me credit for 3 months charges. (That didn't happen). The guy was to come on the 29th but he had problems at home and asked if he could come the next day the 30th. Well he changed out some equipment. So on Nov 17 I wanted to test the system to see if it worked properly after the repairs. There was no one in the house, ceiling fans off not movement. I had not been away more that 15 minutes I received a call that my alarm was going off. So I started calling customer service to get this fixed. I talked with Ozzie the manager and he told me I could not cancel my contract but he would see what he could do to help. He did schedule appointment for 12/22 from 11-12. The repair guy calls and said he is running late and his work order said 1-2. Explained I had to go to work and I would not be home. So he said he would come on the 23rd. But after I looked up all the complaints on Skyline Management I called the guy and told him not to come. All these complaints were identical to mine. Seems this company preys on the elderly. The system works when I set it at night but never when away. It has never worked. I don't travel a lot but I like to know my house is secure when I do leave this is what I pay for.

3 gentlemen came to my house advertising skyline security. I was told by the leader that the price would be locked in for 60 months and I was not in a contract and I could cancel at anytime. They put the cameras up set up the alarm. I was advised that if anything went wrong to call. I have been calling since I got the services. I've been told that multiple service calls have been put in and no one shows up. I have key fobes that were supposed to come with the system and didnt. When I told the service people I was paying for stuff that didn't work and didn't have all the pieces I was told I had to pay almost $5k to get out of a deal I didn't know I was in. Called several times and told them the chime nor the doorbell could be heard inside the house. Always was told a service call was put in and no one shows up. Told I will get a call from a supervisor and no one calls. But they expect me to pay for this service. IM NOT PAYING FOR NOTHING! What broken promises are y'all gonna tell me like them that's either gonna fix the problem or get me out of a contract I didn't know I was in?!
At the end of August 2022, I was contacted by *** Gil of Skyline/Brinks Home Security about a Home Security system. Installation was supposed to take place that Friday. When the technician,***, arrived he started the installation. He then told me he could not complete the installation, until I ordered an ethernet switch so that he could complete the installation. He said to call when the switch came in. When the switch came in, I notified *** and he said he would call***. *** called a couple of days later and said he would get with his scheduler, give me a call and attempt to make it on Friday.*** told me I wouldn't need the switch now and they would do something different. That Friday I received no call or any type of notice. I sent an email to the company stating I wanted to discontinue their service. I received a letter (dated sept. 9th) on September 11th, stating I could discontinue the service if I paid $4,971.74. I have a non-functioning doorbell camera and outside camera and still have not heard back from Skyline/Brinks. I sent them another email expressing my dissatisfaction. No response. I would like to warn other of this and do not wish to have Skyline Brinks as a Home Security service.
Skyline ( Brinks ) had a salesman come to our house and lie to us about how skyline and vivint were splitting customers at a dividing point and skyline was taking south and vivint was taking north. I had them call my husband and they told him the same lie. They then had me do a voice contract that was based solely on the lie they told my husband and I. When they skyline ( brinks) was caught in their lie they throw the voice contract in our face. They installed equipment in our house that worked less than a month. Skyline then wanted us to pay them to fix the junk they installed in our house. We made many calls to the salesman that lied through his teeth and got me to do the contract, he has still to this day never returned my calls. If they wouldn't have lied to us they would never have been put in our house. They decided to come fix equipment in our house for free but that's not the problem. If it wasn't for the bold faced lie they wouldn't be in my house.
My name is ***, a 66 year old woman. On May 26, 2022 Skyline Security Management salesman,*** came to my home to sale a new alarm system. He convinced me that I needed an upgrade from ADT to take advantage of 5G capabilities that are now in my area. I was not informed of a 5 year contract until Skyline's customer service person called to complete the contract over the phone on 5/28/22. If so, I would have never agreed to sign up. Also, I was not in the best frame of mind due to the recent passing of my husband of 30 years who suffered with Alzheimers and Lewy Body Dementia. My income dropped by 40% after my husband's death. My complaint stems from me experiencing several problems with the alarm system over the last few weeks in the month of September 2022. My daughter called Brinks, trying to get help to resolve the problems. The system was not communicating with Brinks. After conducting trouble shooting with negative results, an appointment was made for a technician to come out on 9/27/22. On 9/23/22 I received a text from Brinks cancelling the appointment with no explanation. I called Brinks to attempt to find out why with no success. I was transferred to a few agents and disconnected. I called Skyline. No solution. I said that I want to cancel. I was told I would have to pay the remaining 56 months of the contract. Also everyone was ready to send a technician immediately once they realized how displeased I was. Marisol attempted to appease me today by offering to drop the contract to 3 years so that I would pay out less to cancel. She also played the recording of me and the rep completing the contract over the phone where it was clear that the 5 yr contract was new information to me and I said that I would only agree if their equipment would work properly. The signup should have ended and forwarded to a manager. Clearly the equipment does not work properly. I want out of the contract without paying any money..zero dollars.

I already have ring cameras inside my barbershop but wanted something for outside. Through a customer I start a security service with Skylight security also known as Brinks security in my business on June 8, 2022. The system has never worked properly and technicians have been out but the cameras keep going out. I tried to cancel my sevice but they said i will own them around $5,700 for early cancelation. They say i have to get better wifi, but everything else is still working. All the month of July the cameras off and on. I have had No service since August the 18 and today is September the 8th, but they still want me to pay. All I want is to be out of this contract because I'm paying for a service that I am not getting and if i do not pay my credit will go down. Can you help me?
I fecieved a phone call from someone at security Systems Management ( subsidiary of Brinks) advising me that Brinks and ADT had merged and that the ATD equipment I now have in my home is outdated (25 years old) They needed to come in and update my equipment. As a 75 year old female who lives alone, I was really concerned for my safety. Within 24hours a sales representative came into my home confirmed the information I received on the phone call. He then dispatch a technician, who took down my ADT equipment and installed the Brinks equipment. I I asked the same question repeatedly, why do I need to change equipment and sign a new contract if the two companies merged. I said to ***, (" it sound like you are ripping off ATD customers and converting them to Brinks"). *** completely denied my statement everythtime I asked and gave me different explanation of why I needed new equipment installed. *** guided me through the cancelation by using my cell to dial the correct numbers to get ADT service canceled. He also provided the answers I gave in my cancelation with ADT. The technician installed a new Brinks panel, a ring door bell as part of the package. I called Skyline Security to cancel my contract. I then received a call from *** that I don't need to call anyone else. *** assured me he had taken care of the cancelation. I called this morning 9/12/22. I was told there documentation, that I changed my mind and decided to keep SSM Inc. I never made that call. As I am reading through the online complaints about Skyline Security, I see this is a common practice of theirs. It is a sad day in this country when this and other companies who practice deceptive measures and target senior citizens by lying to us. I promise, I will post this message on every media site I can find. I will also make sure the local TV stations get a copy of this complaint.
On around 7/27/2022 a skyline salesman came to our house and told my wife that skyline and vivint had an agreement and vivint was giving the accounts south of a designated spot, I can't remember exactly where it was but, they were giving the accounts to skyline and that skyline was giving their accounts north of that point to vivint. So my wife calls me at work and the salesman tells me the same story. He says it's just a crossover, that nothing changes other than I will have skyline or brinks , (whatever they are called) equipment and be making payments to skyline. So I ask the salesman to verify that vivint and skyline had this agreement and this wasn't a scam to get me to put them in my house. He assured me it wasn't that everything was legit. A couple weeks later I talked to a vivint representative to find out why they were giving or trading the accounts with Brinks and he informed me that I had been lied to. I then tried to call the salesman so I could have them remove their equipment because it was put in my home under false pretenses or lies. The salesman never answered my calls or returned my calls.Whenever I called skyline and ask to be released from my contract because I was lied to to get it their(skylines reply was. We have a verbal and signed contract and we will not let you out. I said mam this contract was filled out and signed under false pretenses and she said here I will send you a copy of contract. I informed them I have the contract and I want out of it because your salesman lied to us to get it. They still refused. Then layout a month of having the system in the house the radio quit communicating. I call to have them come check the system to see what's wrong and they are going to charge me to come repair their new system. If they would've been honest from the start, I might not have had a complaint but their system and their contract was all based on a salesman's lies.
8/29/2022 skyline security management/ BRINKS installed an alarm system in my home plus 2 video camera in which I paid for in full at time of service at 230.00 x2 = 460.00. I was charged 460.00 plus one month of service 54.99. I was charged 514.99. This is what I have paid up to today's date 9/17/22. I am writing as from day 5 of service with skyline security the whole system stopped working, all door, window sensors, motion sensors, cameras. This did not look good for a brand new install to me. When I contacted them Brinks- as I thought I was purchasing a brinks alarm system and skyline was just the installer that was what I was told on the phone. Brinks told me they could not help me. That skyline had my contract for one year and I have to contact them with any issues. What kind of garbage is this? So I contact the rep who set me up he was of no assistance ge told me I needed to call to set up a service call appointment. At this point I'm very frustrated. I had taken enough time off for the install now more time off for their fix god knows when. And I'm paying for a service that DOES NOT WORK! I ended up calling the tech who initially set it up which was not really my choice as he didn't seem too knowledgeable and he came out several days later. AGAIN I WAS PAYING FOR SERVICES NOT RENDERED! Got that up and running, took him a great while to figure it out. Now a week later both my video cameras are not working. Not recording nothing. I called the technician he said he could not help me. I had to call skylines tech support they could assist. Guess what there was no one there to assist me. I have left a message no call back. The technician assured me they work weekends. Guess another line of ***. I call brinks. I got a technician who could not connect into my system She told me I needed to hang up and call back to speak to someone. What kind of service is this. I want a full refund and out of this contract this place is ridiculous. Please help me
Company failed to complete installation/repair of product that the customer is being charged for
Company failed to complete installation/repair of product that the customer is being charged for. To Whom It May Concern: On/about 24AUG2020, a customer service representative contacted me to discuss replacing my current security system with an updated security system "free of charge." When I agreed to speak to a representative "face-to-face," the company dispatched a sales rep who then closed the deal with promises to update my security system and then add a security doorbell. I signed the information agreement and waited for the installation the following day. This is where the problems began, the technician that was dispatched the following day was not knowledgable with the product. The big concern was the doorbell. The technician attempted to install two different doorbells from the company (Skyline) without success. Then he blamed my internet and left to return the following day with a third doorbell from a third-party company, RING. The technician installed the doorbell and then left. The doorbell failed to maintain connectivity to the internet and was malfunctioning. We called the maintenance support to fix the problem and they dispatched another technician. This technician explained that my doorbell was a third-party product and would require me to pay ANOTHER company for access to it. I told him not to touch it and that I would be cancelling my service. I called the Loyalty department to cancel the service and they agreed that I could cancel, however, only if I found another customer to transfer the service to. They offered a refund check for the first month of service in order to compensate for installation not being complete and passed *** off to the maintenance department. I began working with the loyalty/maintenance department to attempt to fix this problem. They have promised on SEVERAL occasions to dispatch a technician to fix the problem and complete the installation of the promised product. I have taken the day off of work on three separate occasions to wait for a technician to show up, but no one ever does. Today is one such day. I attempted to again fix this problem on my by contacting the company, however, I am gaining no ground in the matter. I continue to pay out for services that are not being rendered and products that were promised and to this day I have NOT had a working doorbell! The maintenance technician left me with a non-working doorbell! I am not certain where to go from here as I cannot seem to contact anyone in any particular department with any real answers. Please assist in any way that is possible. v/r, *** A.

On March 18, a man I didn't know knocked on my door, identifying himself as *** with Skyline Security, authorized dealer of Brinks. He hadn't phoned ahead of time and he didn't have an appointment. But he started talking immediately and gave the impression that it was important and something I needed to know. He said that his company was taking over the company I used for my home security (Ampsmart), and that Ampsmart would now be run by Skyline. He described that Skyline would now be my provider and that Skyline would take care of whatever was left of my account with my present company (Ampsmart). I took that to mean that Skyline would just take over my contract with Ampsmart because they would now be one and the same company. My friend was here with me and she understood that as well. He talked very rapidly and my friend and I frequently asked him to repeat himself just to make sure that we heard him correctly. At the end of the conversation my friend and I both had the understanding that Skyline and Ampsmart were now going to be the same company and the takeover would be seamless and this change would not cost me anything. With that understanding, I signed the contract he offered. He said that the equipment I currently had would not work now and that Skyline would put in their new equipment at no charge to me. When the technician came to put in the new equipment, I asked him what I should do with the present equipment, and he said to just throw it away. So that's what I did. Imagine my shock when I saw on my credit card bill that I had been double billed, $57.99 from Ampsmart as well as $57.99 from Skyline. I called Ampsmart to ask them what was going on and they said that they had not been taken over by anyone and they were very much still in business. They asked me if I wanted to stay with them or go to Skyline. I decided that I couldn't trust Skyline after they had lied to me so I decided to stay with Ampsmart even though they would now have to called Skyline and cancelled my contract with them. On April 23, I received an invoice from Skyline, for $3062.60 for a cancellation fee. This whole incident has been a nightmare for me. I feel I should not be required to pay anything to Skyline because I didn't ask for this change. The way Mr. described it, it sounded like I had no choice. My friend and I both understood that the company was changing and I had to just go along with it. It is devastating to me because during the conversation with Mr. I wanted to be especially careful because I didn't want to be taken advantage of, and yet that seems to be exactly what has happened.

An ongoing terrible customer service experience
An ongoing terrible customer service experience. Lied to by sales staff, neglected by support staff, ignored by management. Terrible experience. On my day off I was visited by a door-to-door salesman of representing the company Skyline. He pitched his system over the system I currently had, with his being higher quality and less expensive. He showed better equipment, more services, and a cheaper rate. The pitch was very impressive, and myslef being a salesman, i normally don't fall for gimmicky sales pitches. After being sold on a new system by our sales person, ***, we agreed to cancel out agreement with ADT (on the basis that Skyline would buy us out of the contract) and switch to the Brinks system provided by Skyline. We we're told in detail how to cancel with ADT and how to get a buy-out quote from them. We were told that once we received our buyout quote we should call *** directly so he can expedite the process for us. We received the buy-out quote from ADT within a week and immediately reached out to our salesman, ***. Voicemail after voicemail, text after text, we received no response. We contacted Brinks directly, and we're given the corporate number to Skyline out of California. Although most of the representatives at Skyline were kind, we continued to be hung out to dry. Skylines customer support team left us with continued promises of "We have an open case under you're account", "we will get back to you ASAP" , and "I've informed our manager(s) about the situation". All great words, but totally fruitless and empty. After more push to speak to supervisors and management we we're even told that we couldn't speak to a manager and the CSR ( customer service representative) was relaying messages from the manager instead. Even still just empty promises of "ASAP" solutions. This went on for about a week, every day the same issue and the same answers. Currently on 09/11 I have called *** 4 times more and skyline twice. I just spoke to the Sales Support Manager ***. She was kind and understanding but once again I left the phone call with a " I will call you back by the end of the day" We have now been told by our original alarm company that we are being turned over to collections unless they receive the money for the buyout ( The buyout promised by Skylines representative ***). This is totally fair on the part of ADT, I regret switching to Skyline/Brinks and I regret canceling my service with ADT. I hope that Skyline has the integrity to resolve this situation instead of putting, what could have been a loyal customer, in a unfortunate financial situation. At the very least, I would like to see some responsibility taken for ***'s actions.

Salesman for Skyline came to my mom's house and lied to get her to sign a contract with Skyline
Salesman for Skyline came to my mom's house and lied to get her to sign a contract with Skyline. This complaint is in reference to Skyline Security Management, Inc., XXXXX *** CA XXXXX-XXXX, and dealings with them at my mother's home in *** a salesman with with Skyline, a *** authorized dealer, came to my mom's house unsolicited on 07/11. He told her that *** had bought out ADT, which was her current home security service, and that they needed to switch out her equipment. She let them in, and they switched out the equipment and had her sign a new contract, which she thought she had to do. She did not realize what had happened until after more than 3 days had passed from the contract signing. It was a few weeks later when she noticed that Skyline and ADT were both drafting money from her bank account. She called Skyline and told them that she wanted to stay with ADT. They basically told her that she was under contract for 5 years and the only way out was to buy out the contract for over *** I called on behalf of my mom on 08/26 and spoke with ***, explaining the situation. *** said that she would speak with the sales rep and call me back. She never called me back. I called again on 08/28 at 8:15 AM and asked to talk to ***. I was told that she would call me when she got in to the office. Again, she did not call me back. I called again on 09/01 and spoke with *** I explained the situation to her. I was told that my mom had signed a 5-year contract and that they would let her buy it out for over *** (I do not recall the exact amount). I explained to her how my mom had been lied to in order to gain access to her home and explained that she had been happy with ADT and never would have signed with *** unless she believed she had no choice. *** finally told me that they would let her buy the security equipment for *** since it's now "used", and that they would not make her buy out of the contract. After more back and forth, she offered to send me the docu-signed contract and recorded voice calls. After reviewing the information sent to me, I came to the conclusion that my mom was a victim of "slamming". She had ADT signage on her home when Mr. the Skyline salesman, came to her door, so he knew she likely had ADT service in place. She is elderly and lives alone, and I believe the salesman used deceptive sales practices, preying on her age and her fear. Additionally, she is still under contract with ADT and still being charged for service with them. She had been led to believe that they would take care of all paperwork with ADT to get her service transferred over as she believed she had to do. Skyline LIED to an elderly woman in order to sell her a system and get her under a new contract. This is both unethical and illegal.

I experienced a predatory sales tactic
I experienced a predatory sales tactic. I felt very pressured to sign up w/ this company. I was extremely tired and inadvertently gave personal info. The salesman never told me that I had only 3 days to cancel or about the *** termination fee. A salesman (***) approached me outside my home on August 22nd or August 23rd evening attempting sale me Home Security, he quickly said he was with Skyline Security/Brinks Home Security. He introduced himself and his company and their product they were selling. He explained how much it initially would cost me, he noticed I was not satisfied with the dollar amounts, so he said he'd pay the two dollar amounts and just allow me to pay the monthly fee if $59.99. He pointed to the other homes in the neighborhood who had signed on with him and additionally mentioned that my neighbors had to pay that initial amount ($199, $199), however, I wouldn't be paying that amount. It sounded good, but I also felt very uncomfortable, I told him I'd feel better if I could take the information given and allow myself time to compare to other services and to talk with my family about it first. However, he was very persistent, and would not let up, he continued to pressure me with sales talk. I ultimately gave him my account #, to end this whole ordeal. Shortly he received a phone call that one of his techs were available to install the cameras. On Mon. 8/24, I met w/ *** again and told him I was uncomfortable with the monthly payment and signing on, I wanted to talk w/ a relative and him. All three of us talked and my sister was able to ask questions that *** never disclosed to me, such as the amount owed if I should cancel after a year, we never discussed that I needed to decide w/in a certain # of days or I would be locked into their contract and penalized if I decided to cancel after those 3 days. On 8/25th $59.99 was w/drawn. I texted *** on 8/26, I asked him if I was suppose to be given 30 days w/o penalty, he responded, "you'd get your money back". August 27th, I tried canceling, the rep said they'd get back w/ me w/in 2 days (Mon.8/24th). Aug. 31st, I tried canceling, *** told me I missed the day to cancel, I owed them ***). Sept 1st, I spoke w/ a ***, I tried to cancel, she said I'd be penalized and ignored my request. Again, 9/1, I tried canceling w/ a ***, I explained my situation and that I wanted to cancel, she asked my why, I explained I that the monthly payment was too high. I also mentioned that the service was incomplete, my doorbell was not activated and I had already paid the $59.99. She said she would reopen the case and get back w/ me in 24 hours; they will not let me cancel their services; forcing me to stay on while days pass *** I detest the way I've been treated by the reps on the phone. The feeling I get out of this is a, "gotcha" type feeling. I should be able to cancel without penalty due to my constant communication within the short amount of time with this company. I should at least receive partial of my $59.99 credited to me.

I tried to cancel the contract within the allowed 3 days Skyline won't cancel, is holding me "hostage" to a $**** contract
I tried to cancel the contract within the allowed 3 days Skyline won't cancel, is holding me "hostage" to a $*** contract. Skyline Security works for Brinks Security. On Saturday, July 4th, a Brinks salesman came to my home unannounced (after he showed up on June 24th and I told him he would have to come back another day). You will be getting a separate complaint from me on Brinks Security soon. The Brinks saleman sold me a 5 year contract on July 4th. The payments were supposed to be $29.99 per month for 5 years. Skyline Security showed up on July 7 to install the security system, including a wall unit. Their two workers did not wear masks, thus exposing my wife and I to covid-19. After about 45 minutes of work, one of the workers explained to us how to start the system. The presentation of how to work the system was confusing and overwhelming to me. I did not even want the security system in the first place, but was pushed into it by the Brinks salesman on July 4th. I decided to cancel the contract on July 8th. Brinks (or probably Skyline, at this point) refused to cancel it, unless I immediately paid $***, which included $359 for the previously descibed wall unit. I was stunned by this, because I had 3 days to cancel, which July 8th was 3 working days after the July 4th visit and contract. In actuality, the system was not switched on until July 7th. So my actual cancel date should have been July 10th. I decided that I would pay the monthly $30.96, even though I never connected up with the security system. The only thing that worked was the wall unit - which lets me know "back door open" or "garage door open". The monthly $30.96 was autodeducted from my checking account, starting July 8th, then, every 18th of the month for August, September, October, November, and December (2020). I also just paid the January 18th payment. I found out recently that it is Skyline Security, and not Brinks, who is billing me for the monthly $30.96. So Skyline Security has received 7 months of payments at $30.96 for a total of $216.72. So far. We just moved into our current house on June 7th. I have been very busy with the "new" home, over the past six months. Along with the holiday season, I have not had time to do something about the Skyline Security situation until now. On January 13th, I called up Skyline Security. I spoke with a lady named "***". I recanted to her about my attempt to cancel the Brinks/Skyline contract. *** made an offer to me (after speaking with her manager). She told me that she would be able to shorten the length of the contract from 5 years to three years. I figured that 29 more months of payments of $30.96 would come out to $897.84. I would pay for 29 more months for a system which I did not want any longer, which tells me when the garage door or back door is open. So I actually offered to *** to pay $900, immediately, to cancel the contract. *** then informed me that the payoff figure was $***! That works out to $62.63 per month for the next 29 months. That is more than double my current $30.96 per month. I actually called *** back later the same day to question her payoff quote to me. She insisted that she was correct, and that I owed Skyline security $***. This is why I have issued my complaint.

I bought my security system in May and since day 1 there have been problems
I bought my security system in May and since day 1 there have been problems. I have tried numerous times to get these resolved and still they arent. I bought a Brink's Security System from Skyline Security in May. I have now had the system for 3 months and it still is not working correctly. After the initial installation some of the sensors still were not working, so I called and they sent another technician back to fix it. Then for the next two days I had several more technicians come back to fix it over and over again because it still was not resolved. Then it worked for a few weeks, we were out of town and we had a person come by to do some work on our house and forgot to shut our system off, the alarm ended up going off and the police were notified but yet they were not dispatched. We were told that they would automatically be dispatched. But now we find out that we need to have a permit in order to have them dispatched. Thank goodness this was not an actual break-in otherwise we would not have been able to do anything about it. Then the problems started again. We had a alarm go off at 4 in the morning sometime in the last two weeks and we got up and it said that this same area would being broken into. We checked the camera and of course it was not it was just another false alarm. We called the next day to ask for someone to come out again to fix the same problem that has been a problem since day one. Now I am over a week later and no one has resolve this issue. I turned Brinks in to Complaintsboard.com because that's who I assumed I should go through. The executive they're directing me to turn this into Complaintsboard.com for Skyline security. Even as of today I have talked to someone on the phone and this lady you wanted me to say verbally that I refused a technician to come out that way I would be in breach of my contract, her words not mine. The security system was supposed to be to protect my family and now 3 months in my family is no more protected than day 1 of having no security system. I feel that Skyline has not held up to their end of the security system in any way shape or form. If my house was to get broken into tonight there would be no alarm because the alarm still does not work. That to me is disheartening and frustrating, I have spent hours on the phone with different people from this company to no resolve. I have been told several times in the last week that someone will be out to fix my system and yet here I am still Without A system that is working. The alarm that is not working is the alarm to my children's bedroom, do you not see how that could be a problem. I spent almost *** to get this in this system installed into my house, and now I paid about 75 to *** a month to have the security system running, and yet three months and I still have nothing better than day one. I have never worked with a company that has been this slow in responding to issues, or a company that has not been willing in any way shape or form to bend or to refund or to cancel a contract based on their lack of fulfilling their end of the bargain. I am not sure if this is the last step or if I will have to hire a lawyer or what I will have to do but I need to be out of this contract due to Skyline security not providing me not only with equipment that works But A system that work or customer service that will help fix the problem. You can look my account up, my address is XXXXX *** Street *** Nebraska XXXXX. And you will see the numerous times that I've had to call this company and yet to no avail. I don't even care if I'm refunded my money I want someone to come take this equipment out of my house and cancel my contract without being charged any sort of penalty. My phone number is XXX-XXX-XXXX and I am willing to talk to anyone that can help me in this matter. I want answers, I want results, I would like my family to be secure. I don't understand why this is so hard for certain people or companies or security systems to figure out.

Taking advantage of the elderly and using their age to make them feel they need a service they don't On 8/12 *** came to my door and told me
Taking advantage of the elderly and using their age to make them feel they need a service they don't On 8/12 *** came to my door and told me that I qualified for a security system and special funding from the county was available. All equipment was free normal cost *** Monthly payment was *** with a 60 month contract. I had been contemplating getting the alert necklaces, so I talked more to him thinking it was a good idea. I was handed a tablet that had the contract on it. He gave me a brief summary of what he fel was important on the contract, and told me where to sign it. He stated that I would be getting a copy to review and had 3 days to cancel after installation. Two hours later, there was someone else at my residence to install the system. After installation, no one provided any instruction on how to use the system, or what to expect with the system. I didn't know that it was going to tell me every time someone opened my door. I didn't receive a written copy of the contract on that day. Everything happened so quickly that I didn't even realize this until they left. On 8/20 I received a letter from *** in Texas about signing up for the rural metro fire department, which is in the county. I called *** and told them that we live in the city and we get our support from the city, which is 5 minutes from our house. I do not know where the closest rural metro is from my house . I was told that I had to sign up with the rural metro, or if I used the equipment, that I would be charged *** for each use. On 8/21 and 8/22 I called ***, the sales rep, leaving voicemails. I never received a callback. I had more questions, I wanted to talk about having it removed. How was I supposed to cancel if I had no information to do so because I never received the contract copy. On 9/2 the contract was emailed to me. I saw this on my cell phone. This is the first time that I had received anything regarding the contract to review. I tried to pull this up and I was unable to read it. This was in something called Docusign, that I had no idea how to use and no one told me that the contract would come electronically. I am not good with my electronics devices. I require my great grandchildrens assistance in using these things. If I had know this is how the copy of the contract would be given to me, I would have demanded a written copy. On 9/10, I called and talked to someone named *** and told him I could not read the contact on my phone and I needed to see a hard copy. He stated that he would send the contract. I was also told that I could return the necklaces and save *** a month when I expressed my concern about not wanting the system or registering with the rural metro, which again I was not told at the time they were telling me about the system. I told him that I would hold off on canceling until I received a hard copy, and he didn't say anything about this not being okay. On 9/16 I finally got a copy of the contract for review in the mail. I contacted *** again. I told him that every time I open my door it registers on my phone, I was not told this would happen. I feel like my privacy is being invaded. I only wanted a system that my wife and I could use in case we fell and needed help while alone in our home, mostly because my children and grandchildren asked me to do this. He stated that he would send me a letter with my options for canceling, as of the date of this letter, I have yet to receive this. If I was given the time and ability to actually read this contact before I signed, I would have never agreed to or signed it. I had 3 days to review, but didn't get a hard copy of the contract until 9/2 which was past the 3 days and I was not able to even access it, and the hard copy I requested I didn't receive until 9/16. I believe I should have been given a written copy of the contract to look at, a better explanation of what the services were and how the equipment worked. I felt rushed and pressured and taken advantage of due to my age.

Skyline Security practices and how they operate
Skyline Security practices and how they operate. My account number is XXXXXX I am writing to inform you that I skyline security C/O BRINKS HOME SECURITY fraudulently obtain my credit/consumer report without my consent. When the representative for Skyline Security (Colton Ramsey) was confronted about the incident he promised me that he was going to take care of the negative impact the hard inquiry did to my Credit Score. Well he never did any of what he promised. At first i had ADT SECURITY before Skyline Security showed up at my home and tell me that they was willing to paid off the remaining balance on my ADT Contract because ADT SECURITY wasn't a good security System because people was hacking into ADT systems. He then tell me that Skyline Security was encrypted and ADT wasn't. They removed the ADT equipments and installed BRINKS EQUIPMENT in October but ever since SKYLINE SECURITY installed BRINKS in my home I had nothing but problems the door video door bell was replaced 3 - 4 time because it would not work properly the Cameras on the outside of the house would work on and off. Eventually they came and removed the door bell i then of to go and purchase a RING VIDEO DOORBELL from Amazon out my own pocket so that I could have a doorbell that works properly. It would be times the whole system would just stop working including the Cameras I then of to go and purchase some cameras with my own money so that I could monitor my property. They send technician to my house several times and they telling my it most be my internet why the system doesn't work. They told me to contact my internet provider and upgrade to a more expensive package. I end up cancel Time Warner Spectrum and now in a brand new contract with AT&T INTERNET 1000MBPS which cost .e more money monthly and yet the BRINKS cameras and system still having the same problem. I have expressed my frustration to BRINKS they told me in order for me to terminate the contract I need to contact SKYLINE SECURITY because they the one that is still that responsible for my contract and they will assist me in the termination process. I speak to so many people at Skyline Security trying to get this problem solved but never get anything resolved. They would tell me someone will contact you within 24 - 48 hours months would pass *** I would of to call back because they would never reach out to me. A manager even told me that someone from the Cancelation Department would call me in around 6 weeks to go ahead with the termination but that didn't happen either. I have received calls from customer service trying to send technician to my house and I declined because I am tired of every week someone coming in my house trying to fix something that is unfixable. Now the service reps are calling me harassing me about paying a termination fee when we already came to an agreement that they would terminate the contract without any cast on my end. Now I am stuck with a system in my house that doesn't work. Tbe alarm went off before and I wasn't notified nor the police. So I did find out that I was paying my money to BRINKS every month and my system was not been monitored until this day the system doesn't have any monitoring from BRINKS nor Skyline Security. My cup full at this point i just want them to come and removed their equipment so I can find a company that can monitor my home. Me and my family do not feel safe because the security System doesn't work. I wont to cut ties with this company but they keep threatening me that they going to put negative and derogatory remarks on my Credit/Consumer Report that I didn't give them permission to access in the first place. I went to my local police department and try to file a police report for fraud for violating my privacy and they told me to report it to BRINKS because BRINKS probably doesn't know that Skyline employees or practicing those type of activities. I have text messages and voice messages from the individual who fraudulently access my credit without my consent apologizing and promise that he would get it off

Brinks security cameras nothing but trouble and a hassel we got when complaining
Brinks security cameras nothing but trouble and a hassel we got when complaining. They did not keep their word to us. I purchased Brinks security cameras from whom i thaught was Brinks and was told we could cancel at anytime. We were told if we had any trouble with the cameras they would send a technician out to resolve the problem or problems. I began having trouble with them right away and when I texted the person who sent out their technician he told me to call the police if the cameras were not working. Not to call him at that time in the morning. Our bqck and front security cameras would go off constantly. My daughter *** called several times complaining and could not resolve the issues. I was paying 77.00 per month and had several things happen when the cameras were suppose to be working. Car vandelism, and other things. They failed to hold up to their word. We supposidely signed a contract but did not get any of the paperwork that we signed. We had to pay the technician 100.00 cash when he arrived before he would turn the cameras on. I have text document of this 100.00 cash to the technician. I called and told them to come get the cameras as I was going to stop paying for cameras that dont work when we really need them. They told me I would have to pay ***.00 to get out of the contract and if I didnt pay they were coming after my daughter. I stopped the payment through our bank as they tried to collect when I told them not to. My banker told me this was illegal for them to try to collect when i told them not to. I had to change accounts at the bank and they now sent my daughter a letter trying to collect ***.00 from her or they will turn it over to a collection agency and ruin her credit. This company is a scam! We did not get any papers that we signed. Now they tell us we signed a contract and we didnt even know it. We were told we could cancell at any time. Had we known we were signing a 3- year contract we would have never done it. Then to hook up the cameras and tell us they needed the 100.00 cash before turning on the cameras was suspicious but we believed we were dealing with Brinks we knew nothing of skyline untill we started having trouble a few days after installation. Please get this company off our backs with all their threats. My daughter and I sent all the cameras and equiptment to Brinks in Texas and in excellent condition. They were not scratched, broken or cracked in any way. We just wanted them out of our house and didnt want their technicians back in our house. Im afraid they would have never shown out to remove them and if they did they would want more cash to disconnect them. I have never heard of having to pay for something that is useless. And told to call the police when the cameras were not working not to bother them was crazy. Its not the police problem. I just want this company exposed of their scams and corruption and off our backs. Their lies and neglience of living up to their words (Contract) to get us to purchase their cameras. They are truly the business from ***. I cannot believe what theyre doing to us. Its like a total nightmare. There are so many complaints we have with this company that I cannot list them all. I have complained to the police here in kearney several times in the past few months that these cameras dont work and are useless. Finally when the front back camera could not be resolved for weeks I said enough is enough Im tthrough with Brinks Im paying for nothing. A total scam from the beginning. 6-months of nothing but trouble has got to come to an end. Something hasgot to be done with this company. How many other customers did they collect 100.00 in cash before hooking up their cameras once they installed them. I should have known they were scammers then but as I stated earlier we thaught we were dealing with a reputable company Brinks. Never heard of skyline untill we had trouble about a week or two after installation. I would also like my 6- months of paying 77.00 per month returned along with other charges of they charged me right around 350.00 for equipment sent back

We were bamboozled by a *** sales rep. After many visits, call we agreed upgrade system *** 4 days after install was 1st false alarm. The contract only allowed 2-3 days to cancel. However, the 4th day after installation is when our nightmare started. We were at a special celebration brunch & our phones were on do not disturb. I just happened to go outside the venue & saw there was a call coming in. It was 911, the smoke detector had went off. We had to race home to let firemen in. There was no fire, no smoke. False alarm. We were told the smoke detector was defective. Defective equipment doesn't matter w/City Alarm Programs if responders were dispatched. This counted as 1st false alarm on our account. We wanted to cancel due to we never had false alarms that required responders w/old system. Of course there was only 3 days allowed to cancel according to contract, but salesperson said if we didn't like the new system after 7 days, he would remove it & put our old system back. Then we realized he took our system & sign with him. We were told it would cost *** dollars to get out of contract. After defective smoke detector was replaced, we started having other issues, problems w/camera, billing, etc. We started communicating w/***, Supervisor Loyalty Dept. Per *** she was going to see us through until all had been resolved & we were satisfied customers. *** asked what our previous alarm co.'s monthly monitoring rate was for the same services. We gave her the amount quoted by phone. She requested in writing. We were told by previous alarm co. it was against the law to give a written quote. *** said it wasn't & she'd contact them because she was a past employee. We've tried to contact her for about 3mo. We're told she's in a meeting or not available & we ask to have her return our call. Several times we've been told she'll call you right back, call later in the day. I can't count the number of calls. We've even emailed her several times. No response either way. *** also said we wouldn't receive a bill until all was resolved. We chose automated withdrawal for payment method. Instead we received paper bills from *** Executive Response Dept contacted us. They've done their part, but as far as matching monthly rate, only *** can authorize. The *** rep tried to contact *** w/no response. After 1st false alarm/responders, we added special instructions on our acct. Smoke detector went off 10/27 due to steam from bathroom. It's placed in small hallway outside bathroom door. Special instructions on our acct was to do not dispatch responders on any alarm without contacting call list. These instructions were not followed, fire dept was dispatched. We received *** false alarm w/responders fee. My last contact *** was 12/01. As usual *** wasn't available. I spoke w/***, Supervisor in Loyalty Dept. I asked for ***'s supervisor. She stated she didn't know. I asked her could she find out, she said she would send msg. I assumed she meant msg by email so I asked could she send copy of email. She said she doesn't use email because it takes to long to find emails, she uses messenger inside Dept. This conversation with her turned ugly because she said I was getting mad at her & didn't care that she was trying to help me. Really? My response to her was apparently we wouldn't be talking if *** cared about their customers & if *** had followed thru as she stated in the beginning instead of dodging, not returning calls & taking responsibility for our case. This Supervisor *** tried to over talk & was rude because she wanted me to accept HER little offer of *** to help w/couple months payment. Also, she the only way they could match quote of previous alarm co. like WE WANTED was to remove doorbell camera. I informed her that was what *** said she would try to do based on all issues since installation. THIS WAS NOT OUR REQUEST. I asked her to send email to ***. She claimed she was doing this as we talked. I asked for info to file *** stated she'd call 12/02 3p, NO CALL!
