Sofamania Review: A Nightmare Experience with Shipping and Returns
I recently bought two sofachairs from Sofamania's website in mid July. The website promised a 6 week turnaround. I was really excited to receive my order, but unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. I repeatedly sent emails asking for shipping confirmation, but I didn't receive any response. I was really frustrated and worried that I might have lost my money.
After a few days, I decided to request a cancellation of the order. To my surprise, I was sent a shipping tracking number the next day. I was really confused and didn't know what to do. When I received the product, I realized that it wasn't what I expected. I asked for return labels to ship the products back, but it was a nightmare.
Initially, I had to send 5 emails and received one shipping label and the promise that FedEx would pick up the product if I called and scheduled a pick up. I was really happy that I finally got a shipping label, but my happiness was short-lived. Upon calling FedEx, I was informed that the shipping label that was sent to me does not qualify for FedEx picking up the item, but that I would have to drive two large boxes of sofachairs to a FedEx facility.
I was really frustrated and didn't know what to do. I emailed Sofamania 4 more times to inform that their own representatives told me in writing that FedEx would pick up the item and they refused to respond or answer my emails. To date, despite my repeated attempts to speak to them, they will not address the return labels, send proper labels or refund my order for a product I cancelled prior to it being shipped.
I feel really disappointed and cheated. I would not recommend anyone to buy from Sofamania. It is a scam. They will keep your money and attempt to tie you up in red tape. Further, their customer service number does not work. You can only email them and you will receive a different person replying every time. It is really frustrating and time-consuming. I hope no one else has to go through what I went through.

As someone with pulmonary issues and on disability, I rely heavily on comfortable seating. Unfortunately, the new chair was not as comfortable as I had hoped. Last week, I noticed that the chair was no longer closing from the reclining position and was leaning to the right. Upon closer inspection, I found that the reclining mechanism was crooked, and the leather on the lower leg was being scraped off. The entire right side of the chair was detached from the base, leaving a big gap that caused the legs to screw toward the center of the chair, resulting in further damage to the leather.
I was disappointed to learn that I could only return the chair in its original box, which I no longer had. Additionally, I would have to pay for shipping and a 20% restocking fee. It seemed like a lot of hassle and expense just to return a defective product. As a result, I am stuck with a chair that is falling apart and not fit for purpose.

It's been 11 or 12 days since the first box arrived, and we still haven't received the second box. They told my husband they would send a return shipping label and pay for the return shipping. But when I got the email with the shipping label, I saw that they would deduct $14.67 from our refund and made a note that the seller is not at fault for the return. Why would we need a prepaid shipping label if we were going to pay for the shipping? It's like they have us trapped!
We either keep the rails and lose $180 or send them back and have to pay $15 for something we never received. It's a terrible business practice, and I'm so disappointed. Only after I filed a dispute with my credit card company did they offer a replacement, but how can it be a replacement if I never had it in the first place? So I ended up purchasing another bed from a different company because we just wanted to sleep off the floor. But then they slipped in that disclaimer in the email, and if I send the rails back, it's like I'm agreeing to pay for the return shipping. It's just a sad and miserable experience all because we wanted a new bed.

I can't believe the trouble I had with Sofamania. I was so excited to receive my love seat on the 5th, but when I opened the box, I was disappointed to see two large holes in the black Velcro lining. I was so frustrated that I called Fed Ex and they offered to file a claim. I took more photos and sent them to Fed Ex and Sofamania. I saw the Atlas Zero Gravity Massage Recliner, Model REC21-PU almost 600 dollars worth on their website and fell in love with this. Without thinking a lot I just ordered it, because they promised to ship and deliver it as soon as possible.
Oh, how naive I was. Blaming myself for being so silly. The item never arrived.
After multiple calls I made it turned out that the Massage Recliner was never shipped due the unforeseen situation I was never notified about. All their customer service advised is to just wait for the issue to be fixed, refunding is impossible.
No. It's impossible to imagine I'll ever be shopping here again.
