We had a frozen discharge pipe, which caused our sump pump to beep a warning. We called Standard Water Control Systems, who had installed our system a few years ago. They were out quickly, diagnosed the problem, steamed the ice out, checked the pump, backup and battery systems and recommended what to do to prevent further ice issues. We are very grateful for their good work.

Company under new ownership. Canceled my job due to cold temperatures concerns less than 24 hours before it was supposed to begin. I had already rearranged my work schedule months in advance, and weather had been forecast for weeks. No heads up that we might have to reschedule in the 3 points of contact I had with the company during the week leading up to scheduled work day. Company pushed me back 4 days on their schedule, without asking if that worked for me. Told me they would call me back and verify the next day, they didn't. I had to call three times the following day to get ahold of someone to verify work schedule. Luckily, I was able to reschedule my around their availability. To their credit, they crammed a 2 day job into one day (9 hours). Crew that arrived was friendly and communicative. They changed the length of my discharge pipe run after consulting me and saying it would be okay. Owner stopped by later in the day and commented on how long of a run it was, and that it might result in shorter pump lifetime. Worksite was left very clean. Overall, impressed with crew's ability to get the job done efficiently and liked their friendly demeanor. Customer service could be improved. If system functions well (and I hope it will), I will likely recommend this company based on the quality of work, competitive pricing, and efficient work schedule.
Excellent service, stand by their products, they are easy to reach and get out to service systems in a timely manner.
I have over 100 years old house. Every Spring, after the snow melts, water was flooding my basement. I compared three other companies before I called this company. One asked 120% more; another one asked 100% more. Standard Water Control Systems is the most affordable. In fact, I was very surprised with their price. They did a professional job. No water leak this Spring. Spring is till not over. I will wait and see. Now, I can finish the basement and rent the whole house.
Even after installation 18 yrs ago, they have stood behind their company and their warranty
Even after installation 18 yrs ago, they have stood behind their company and their warranty. They have been out several times to inspect seepage that resulted in a foundation crack (unrelated to their "drain tile system). They were not able to repair that crack in time for "sale" but recommended another company which did. Standard Water still came out and flushed the system clean and re-cemented the floor...all under warranty. Great customer service and great Company.!
Prompt and professional. Even though the call was for general maintenance to prepare for the winter and subsequent spring season, the service was completed efficiently and professionally. We've used Standard Water Control System since 2005 when we moved into the house an they have done a terrific job all these years.

I asked for a Radon test kit and the person was very helpful and I received the kit quickly. I have sent it in to get the results. I know I will use Standard Water Control Systems for any remedial work because I trust them. I used them to put in a new drain tile system. They knew what they were doing. They also put in two egress windows for us as well. We had a problem with water in the basement (that spring everyone else was having water too) and they came and fixed it right away. Their word is gold. They promise to cover their work and they do.
As you can see from my below review, I had a HUGE problem with them finishing a job and the owner. Apparently, the business has been purchased by a New Owner(s) one of which, Steve, is cleaning up loose ends. Steven, a new owner, is the kind of man with integrity that ANYONE would love to do business with. He contacted me and wanted to make things right! They came out and finished my job! Steve even came out to see the finished work. Since I was not at home when he came he contacted me via phone the next day to be sure I was satisfied! This New Owner, Steve, is an old school, stand up, do the right thing kind of guy! He does business like Everyone should! I would High recommend using this company now with the New and Improved, professional, with integrity owner(s)! THANK YOU Steve, Respectfully, Barbara N

Great product. Excellent workers that take pride in and on the job. From start to finish the process was easy. Affordable product. I would recommend them to anyone.
I am impressed. They came with a large crew and accomplished in two days work that another contractor estimated would take a couple of weeks. Even with this large crew, people weren't running into each other or getting into each others way. It was almost like watching the activities on an aircraft carrier. Paul M.
I have always had great and timely service from this company.

Standard Water installed a drain-tile sump pump system in my basement in 2002 and it has worked great
Standard Water installed a drain-tile sump pump system in my basement in 2002 and it has worked great. This year (2020) it appears there is a crack in the foundation and there is slight (about a cup) of seepage into the basement. This seepage problem is a separate issue from the drain tile system, but Standard Water has been great to deal with. They have scheduled follow-up appointments the very next day and have been very helpful in advising on this matter. I wish all companies were this well run and honest, even after 18 years of an installation.
I had my draintile installed over 18 years ago
I had my draintile installed over 18 years ago. I had a flash flood last night (not due to draintile) and SWCS was out that afternoon. The Rep gave me some ideas for how to prevent water from coming in from under my door. They installed a new sump pump for me, at my request (it was 18 years old), on the spot. I have always had great customer service with SWCS. I am very happy with this decision I made all those years ago. (Installation was a breeze. This is a messy job, but they cleaned up after every step. The workers and foreman were very courteous.) Highly recommend.
SWCS replaced our old non-functioning under the house drain tile and sump pump system
SWCS replaced our old non-functioning under the house drain tile and sump pump system. The explained in detail what they would do, how long it would take and what it would cost. Everything was consistent with their proposal. We aske for the exit water pipe to be shifted from out back (original location) to the front side of the house, so we could arrange for the exit water to be piped into the city storm sewer system (with the city's permission). We needed to use another contractor to handle the outside piping as SWCS didn't want to tackle that part for us. The system SWCS installed works perfectly. Good work.
My egress installation went great and no issues with with the window itself
My egress installation went great and no issues with with the window itself. Before the install, I initially said I would keep the dirt that would be dug up to install the window to use for landscaping/gardening. However, partway through the install process I realized the majority of it was actually clay. I addressed my concern with the worker and requested them to remove it before they left. He assured me it was mostly dirt. After all was said and done I used a shovel to dig into the mound and saw that it was still mostly clay. I contacted the office and was relieved to have my concern addressed in a timely manner and the mound was picked up within 2 weeks.
Standard Water installed a sump pump system for us in May and did a fantastic job!
Standard Water installed a sump pump system for us in May and did a fantastic job! We haven't had rain yet, so I can't test it fully, but the installation process was very impressive. They were on time, efficient, clean, and had great attention to detail. I'm very particular about work that gets done and couldn't find anything that didn't exceed my expectations. Mike and Heidi were very knowledgeable and responsive. The packet of information they gave us was very thorough with really helpful images to show us exactly what the system will do. We've had water for the whole 6 years we've lived in the house and for the first time ever, I can't wait for rain!
Was told by Standard Water Control Systems that an internal drain/sump pump system would alleviate the wet basement
Was told by Standard Water Control Systems that an internal drain/sump pump system would alleviate the wet basement walls I have due to hydrostatic water pressure. Had the system installed. After the first rain of the season my basement walls are just as wet as they have ever been. Sent pictures to Mike and he didn't see a problem. Suggested they could add plastic over the walls. My argument was that they assured me there would be great improvement, but there is not. Asked him to send someone down and he said he didn't see any reason to. I have since had another expert look at this and he feels the system is not working. Poor customer service, ethics. Mary Smith 123 Main Street Anytown, USA

Rude. Uncaring
Rude. Uncaring. False advertising. My mother spent thousands to buy a water control system from this company. On a Saturday she heard and felt strong vibrations from the water system and was concerned it had stopped working and her basement would flood. This company advertises a “wet basement emergency" hotline on its website. We called it but no one answered and the message said we will call you back the next business day. That would be two days later. So it's not really an emergency hotline at all unless your emergency is during their business hours. So my 86 year old mother worried all weekend about potential flooding. On Monday the company called my mother, their customer, and could not have been any ruder. The man had no interest in hearing what happened, told my mother he had more important calls to make and hung up. They never bothered to call me back even though I left a message too. This company touts a ComplaintsBoard.com award it received many years ago. Apparently things have changed. If I could give zero stars I would. This product is supposedly under lifetime warranty but they have no intention of servicing the product or finding out what happened.

02/13 I have used Standard Water Control to resolve two water issues in the past
02/13 I have used Standard Water Control to resolve two water issues in the past. The first project was in 1996 where two inches of water flooded the lower level of the New Hope property in the spring thaw. Standard Water Control came to the rescue and installed the trench and drainage system on the whole perimeter of the lower level. The system works with no water issues to this day. So in 2002 when water flooded the basement of our South Minneapolis property I didn't hesitate in calling Standard Water Control to resolve the problem. The same system was installed on the entire perimeter of the lower level. After the installation of the water proofing system was complete we refinished the lower level confident that our investment wouldn't be destroyed by the next heavy rain or warm spring snow melt. The property was placed on the market in 2006 and the sale was contingent on inspection. In the buyers inspection of the property the places where the paint had not been redone suggested that there was a water problem. ( I wish we had this inspector when we purchased the property.) After reviewing the list of items that the inspection highlighted as needing to be addressed, we contacted Standard Water Control with the water concern. Standard Water Control immediately faxed a copy of the guaranty for the water proofing work which stated that Standard Water Control stands behind the work done and the guaranty would transfer to the buyer. This allayed any concerns of a current water issue at the property. Our most recent experience with Standard Water Control was just this past month in January at our home in Burnsville. The builder installed sump pump and drainage system failed. After pulling up the carpet and tracing back the water intrusion point we discovered the foundation block wall had a crack from floor to ceiling. It was obvious that a repair to the damaged wall had been attempted in the past. Most likely just before the sheet rock was installed by the previous owners. We called in Standard Water Control and they were able to install the "Fortress" system to reinforce the wall. They also core poured the wall after install rebar for additional structural support. Due to the wall repair the drainage system also needed to be upgraded. All total the installation for the project was ~$4K. We think this is a good value for the peace of mind knowing that we won't have a structural or water issue again guarantied. It's great to be able to go back to a great company that does the job right and provides great value with a lifetime guaranty. We highly recommend Standard Water Control for any water proofing or structural issue.

We had Todd out to look at our property. He is very knowledgeable and friendly We will go with Standard Water when we are financially ready because of the lifetime warranty they offer and Todd was extremely helpful and did not try to sell something we did not need

Standard Water did a great job with our drain tile repair and new sump pump installation. They were very professional, quick, and kept everything as clean as possible. Ramón was very friendly and Brent & Brian were excellent also. I would highly recommend them!
Rob has serviced our sump pump for third or fourth time over almost 20 years. We always get excellent service. More importantly our pump has always worked great. Just need replacement of parts at their normal end of life. Recommend Standard Water Control Systems to everyone. Richard
