Roof replacement with state farm
On April 20th an adjuster came out to review damage for a claim filed with State Farm on April 6th. Adjuster was friendly and courteous. Once he finished his inspection he set down with my husband and I and pointed out that the roofer who had submitted the claim on our behalf gave a loss date of 4-6-2022. That was actually the day we filed the claim. I pointed that out to the adjuster and he said well he was sorry but that would have to stand as the date of loss and on that date the wind direction could not have caused most of the damage to the roof. His estimate was to replace 18 shingles and the damage to the two bathrooms that had leaks. The total was about 1300 and our deductible was 2800 so nothing to pay. I was livid. The agent informed us that State Farm expects us to have a roofer on speed dial and every time there is a storm we should call the roofer and have the singles repaired immediately. My husband said basically they want us to replace the roof a few shingle at a time and he said yes, it is our job to mediate the loss. I spoke to the roofer and he said he told state farm 4/6 was the date of inspection not the date of loss. I don't know if he is telling the truth, but it was apparent State Farm didn't want to pay. We contacted a second roofer who showed us there were considerably more shingles missing and that we needed a new roof and they would provide a repairability test. Well on August 25th State Farm called to say they did a review as they always do and decided we did need a new roof. I was overjoyed, until he went on to say they see we filed a claim in 2016 and they had awarded us a partial roof at that time. They noted we didn't receive the check for 1300 so they sent a second check in 2018 which they di and I told them it wasn't enough to get a new roof they said well it has been 2 years so that is all you get. You had two years to do the work and ask for an additional 8000 but since you didn't the money is no longer available. So now the new adjuster who said we need the roof said he has to depreciate the roof so he is valuing the roof at 11800. They would send a check for 1800 and hold the depreciation amount of 6000 until after the roof is done, except they have to also depreciate the 8000 that was available in 2016 so end of the day there is nothing to pay. I think the never intended to pay and knew that the repairability test would show the roof could not be patched again. We have had state Farm for almost 40 years. Every car, two houses and jewelry policies with them. They are definitely not a good neighbor. I will also be reporting them to the better business bureau and definitely removing my business.
Desired outcome: I desire to have my roof replaced. The house is 26 years old we are the only owners and State Farm has been getting their money every year, never been late, never missed a payment.

State Farm is a joke, and has always been. Everyone in my neighborhood suggested that I choose another insurance company but I didn't listen, and I wish I had of. They are always looking for excuses not to pay for damages, and they never fully pay for repairs, it will ALWAYS end up coming out of the policy holders pocket. I would never recommend them, and I myself am switching insurances.
Customer Service
My name is Craig Lewis - Claim # 08-32Q2-43D
Today (4//20/22) I received a call from Jasmine (regarding a accident claim) responding to a previous call I had with Desiree. My concern with Desiree was I didn't understand why I would have to go out of pocket (deposit for rental car) for anything related to the accident since the accident was the other driver's fault. All the repairs to my vehicle were going to be covered under the other driver's insurance policy. Desiree stated that she understood and it was just a policy of the rental companies but she wanted to escalate the issue anyway. So today Jasmine contacts me at 12:37pm to find out what my issues were and I explained to her my conversation with Desiree. She basically tells me the same thing that Desiree tells me however I explained my reasoning behind the concern. I told her that I felt it wasn't right that we as the victim of the incident should not have to coming out of pocket for any fees or charges. I'm assuming Jasmine grew a little frustrated because she began speaking over me and literally told me that we are going back and forth and not going anywhere (summarizing her words but I'm sure you will get it on the tapes). I began to get frustrated over her talking over me so I hung up the phone.
Desired outcome: My desired outcome to ensure that your customers get a better customer service experience moving forward. I'm assuming she is someone from your leadership team so I expect more from my experience from her.

Renters insurance
The agent never went over the policy, coverage etc. I moved in and not even 24 hours later water backed up and the company initially said they'd pay they took forever to respond and answer questions, I lost my bed and had to sleep on my sofa for 6 mo and then a jerk supervisor because I had to ask for one denied my claim and she must've already known, the did not allow me to submit the plumber's report, they left me hanging and even now I am still suffering, I am having issues with my landlord! I hate State Farm! then the [censored] wouldn't allow me to cancel my policy! TRASH
Auto insurance
I have had State Farm insurance, consistently with the same agent, since Oct 2008. I have my payments auto drafted from my account. My policy was for full coverage. I am in college in another state however I retained my residency in the state where my insurance was out of. This was not an issue until an accident occured involving my vehicle which was not my fault. However, I have paid thousands of dollars for coverage in case something/an accident does occur. I also have a clean driving record.
I became concerned this morning when the monthly payment had not gone through my account as planned so I started checking to see when the last payment had processed out of my account, since I had not been contacted in any way that any changes were imminent. I found that the last auto payment was submitted to my bank the end of December 2021. So, unbeknownst to me, I have been without insurance coverage for 3 months. When I contacted the State Farm office to find out what was going on, I was advised that a previous employee (unlicensed office agent) had made changes to my account/policy. My policy then showed that my vehicle was being garaged in a state it had never and was not an address for me. I was advised that mailing of the changes were sent to that address. I am beyond angry. I was in consistent contact with that unlicensed office agent and she had not only the information that the address was not correct but also my email address and phone number for contact. I was never sent any information about the changes she was putting into my account. As a matter of fact, I had been in contact with her over the claim on the accident during the timeframe she made the changes and she never advised she was changing Anything!
This is the 2nd time that someone, unauthorized to make changes to my policy account, has been allowed to work within my policy. The address that was submitted to my policy was my sister's new address, which I had to confirm back in March 2022 due to the tag office advising her address was showing as mine. My sister is not on my policy but because she put in an address change with the post office, all personas from the address were lumped together in the address change. And the first time was when my ex-spouse was allowed information and to make changes. They also were not authorized on my policy to obtain any policy info or make any changes.
When I spoke with the licensed agent for my office, she advised she would get the issues fix and get the insurance back so I would have coverage again today. She asked if there was any new claims for the time that the policy had dropped and was advised no. She stated there shouldn't be a problem in getting it restarted. I confirmed with her that I was very upset by the actions done within my account and concerned how those unauthorized actions would affect my long standing policy including the savings and deductions I had Earned over the years. She assured me that to restart the policy that nothing would be lost. However, when she contacted me back she stated she spoke with the underwriter and not only would my payments be double what it was before their ex-agent made unsubstantiated and unauthorized changes but also stated that they said they sent mailings to that incorrect address. She also stated that they said that it was irrelevant if it wasn't my address that I should have checked my account since I had access to it. Seriously? I was paying consistently and through autopay and Trusting that my truck's best interest was being served by those who I Hired to see to that security. And that the State Farm underwriter, who is being paid by my and other policy holder's accounts, would be literally condescending to me when State Farm did not contact me in all the ways they had been advised and had confirmed were actual legitimate means of contact is undeniably unacceptable. My question is, how is it at all ok for the underwriter to makes overly harsh excuses and be utterly condescending to a customer? The licensed agent for the office also said that the underwriter stated that I could just get insurance with another company even if it were temporarily and that I could get a tag and change my license over to the temporary state as well. Again, Seriously? Why am I having to fork out more money because State Farm is allowing unauthorized, unconfirmed changes to be made on the policy I was paying for and already paid more than $16K just for someone, like the underwriters, to get paid for sitting around and being condescending to the paying customers? How is it my responsibility to check that State Farm is doing the job I pay them to do? How is it ethical or even legal to allow unconfirmed information to be submitted without authorization from the policy holder? Wouldn't this be considered Fraudulent actions on the part of State Farm? I may contact an attorney to find out.
In addition, now that the main licensed agent has left a message with the underwriter's condescending advice, this agent will not return my call.
What I want:
I want the services I have been paying for, at the cost I have earned, and/or whatever additional savings I was due before this unauthorized action occurred. I want to not be disrespected by this company or their employees that I have paid, consistently, for a service. I would like for no unauthorized changes to be allowed without prior consent from the policy holders to become a standard of practice. I would like for the trust I have bestowed on State Farm to be valued, appreciated, and returned in all the actions from this company to their customers.
Desired outcome: I want the services I have been paying for, at the cost I have earned, and/or whatever additional savings I was due. I want to not be disrespected.
Claim on accident I had with your customer
Claim Number1631B065W on 2/25/2022 I was involved in an accident which your client policy number262-5187-B26-16 ran into because she failed to clean ice off of her windows. I saw her backing out her drive so I stopped to see what if she was going to stop because of ice on her passenger side windows she did not stop. I remained stopped on my side of the street she put her car in a forward gear not more than 20 feet from me and proceeded to leap forward and hit me while I was still stopped. Now a police report was done with pictures taken of the vehicles by the police. I don't here from you all as their insurance provider so I make contact. I told you all that the accident caused a break in the plastic tank on my Radiator and there was some minor cosmetic damage but it was so minor is was not worried about it and all I would like was reimbursed for the new radiator and the labor for having it installed. The man said fine sent a copy of the invoice and I would received a check. I thought I had but found out I needed a claim number which I was never provided with at that time! To sum it up yesterday I was contacted by your co. by 2 differant people and they wanted the invoice which I sent again yesterday and pictures of my vehicle. I told the that the police had taken pictures and they could get them from them. I also told them the cosmetic damage was so little they would not be able to see it in a picture and all I was interested was the money I spent replacing the radiator so I could drive it that was in the amount of $336.56 I thought I was treating you all very good with that. After the run around I was getting from your people and getting upset I told the guy to just forget it wasn't worth the stress I was going through for that amount. So I guess you all got what you wanted in that you got off with out paying a dime. Use that money well.

I file a claim and provide state farm with all the information they need to start working on a claim. police report, customer name and policy #.
As of today 3/31/22, I have not received a call from state farm so that I could start the repair of my truck. I have call them 5 times but not getting anywhere other than a run around.

Homeowners Insurance
Heard a fizzing in the wall in my condo's kitchen and saw water dripping on drywall.
I have to replace everything in the kitchen.
A company we have been loyal to with multiple policies is on the precipice of loosing all of our trust.
Needless to say, I told my rep. that I was aware that the pipe replacements and mold were my responsibility, plus the $500 deductible, to which I agreed.
State Farm refuses to help so far. I told them I would fight this shameful denial of theirs. Funny, that within 3 days I had 3 contractors here and they all said: That was no "slow leak."
They are scammers, until they prove my fiance and I otherwise. I'm saddened and disappointed that I will likely have to search for a company that doesn't do this to customers. What a shame to feel like this organization has gone down the tubes from what I thought it was.
Desired outcome: Repairs and replacement items reimbursed. What anyone who isn't brain dead should expect from their "homeowner's insurance."
New roof required or sf will not renew our homeowners policy
State Farm sent a representative that took pictures of houses in our neighborhood from the street. In September we received a letter stating that we had to have our roof inspected by a roofing company and comply with the roofer's recommendations. We had three roofers look at the roof and of course, all stated that we need a new roof. Gold Key Roofing did an in-depth evaluation, determined there was some damage, took pictures and gave the dates of inclement weather to SF. SF sent an inspector and our Gold Key representative tried to go over the damage with the inspector but was totally ignored. (An illustration of the inspector's incompetence; he marked a downspout as being damaged that was completely inside under the eve of the house.) The appeal resulted in SF saying there is not enough damage to exceed our deductible so they would pay nothing, but we still need to replace our roof because of its age. The roof is 17 years old and the shingles are 30 year shingles, barely over half life expectancy. We have no leaks or water damage and it looks so good that the average person would almost think it is a new one. SF has been my insurer for cars, boats, motorcycles and homeowners since I was old enough to drive (60 years). So much for "like a good neighbor." It makes me want to throw up every time I hear the slogan. We are retired and on fixed income. We can't just come up with 20K to insure that State Farm won't have to pay a claim in the future. We are actively searching for a new company.
Desired outcome: reconsider and limit the replacement requirement to the actual damage or at least pay toward the damaged portions
Home insurance roof
Hello we have had state farm insurance on our home for years. Over the past 2-3 years we have needed a new roof. We have had multiple adjusters including third party adjusters who have come out and said we need a new roof. State farm continues to deny. Why? At Christmas time is rained and our roof leaked. An adjuster came out and said we need a new roof.. and we were denied again. They keep saying to replace individual shingles. This is not approved by our city coding system. Everyone on our block has gotten a new roof. Is state farm waiting for our roof to completely crumble away or fly away before we can get a new one? Why are we seemingly the only people who pay for insurance and can't get a new roof when we need one? When is the point where we can get one?
Desired outcome: A new roof...covered under the insurance we pay for.
Claim# 1331V397W
I submitted a claim for 1331V397W with agent Daniel Dennis. I provide damage photos, estimated for replacement etc., and he continues to give me the run around about my claim he stated was a full replacement of my pool. As of today he refuse to provide any manager assistance and originally refuse to go to a pool expert based on estimates.
I continue to reach out to get this resolved with not solutions. I asked for authorization to have pool experts to inspect for tear/down and he finally agreed verbally as its included in the overall estimate to pay. I had the tree removed from the pool submitted a receipt and pictures of the removal. Still no determination and final payoff so I can purchase a replacement.
I like this resolved as a 32 year customer with state farm.
Desired outcome: Payout for replacement of my pool with Watson in Offallon, IL as submitted with another estimated that was higher.
Car insurance
I was insured with your company on February 1, 2021 when I had an accident involving a bus owned by the city of Evansville IN. I am now trying to purchase insurance at they say that my record shows that this accident was my fault when it was absolutely not my fault. All you have to do is look at the police report in the claim to figure that out. I would like to have my driving record amended to reflect this fact.
Leslie S Leach
Desired outcome: fix my driving record
Changed policy on comprehensive after just 6 months
My husband received a call from our Cheyenne, Wyoming State Farm office, Suzanne Cork, saying that an insurance underwriter wanted to terminate our policy after just 6 months. All our payments are made through direct deposit and have always been in good standing. We had one window chip and one small towing charge. The ins. agent got the underwriter to agree to not terminate if the comprehensive policy was changed from zero deductible to $1,000 deductible. This is more than outrageous. I'm appalled at how State Farm treats their customers. I will be reporting this in every way possible so people are aware of State Farm's practices. Our state senators need to investigate these practices and policies so I will report this to them as well.
Sincerely,
Kathy Escobedo
Desired outcome: Immediate investigation of policies

Its very unfortunate because of a couple bad seeds, this company’s efforts go down the tube. Its more that they have an amazing foundation, and most of the reps (probably about 80% are amazing). Most being thorough, empathetic, and genuinely want to offset any issues with resolutions, advice, and a positive attitude.
Its unfortunate that I ran into two people at this company that is probably the reason I am going to be leaving in 3 months when my plan expires.
1) todd with state farm home claims, who was the person who oversaw the claim in which my car was vandalized or robbed in front of my house. — I filed a claim for some items that were stolen from my car, after calling in to see if my policy has coverage for such a thing. I was asking customer service if I was covered for this event, and super excited to find out that I did indeed have coverage for stolen items from my car when in front of my apartment and inquired at this time on how to file a claim, the necessary steps, etc.
Subsequent, to following all their requirements and filing the claim I was told to wait a couple days and an adjuster would get in contact.
3 days later this adjuster called very rude, arrogant, and condescending and asked if I was on probation by two officers. He went on to belittle me and say first and foremost before we proceed with anything else I need to have both their contact information, and to speak with them regarding this claim. (I am on probation, because I was employed by someone who was breaking the law to no knowledge of my own and got tied into it indirectly). It was minimal and embarrassing, but I have done nothing wrong. He kept insinuating I was doing something wrong by filing this claim for which I am paying for coverage.
It got so bad I called my attorney who told me to tell him he has no right to talk to my probation officers, and it does not have input on the claim as I am not in violation of the law, and that I refuse to give him info or put him in touch with them. (He mentioned that I won’t get paid on it and obviously he is looking for reasons to not pay it out so it’s probably waste of my time).
On his next call, I told him its none of his business and he has no right to communicate with them or use it as a basis to disqualify my claim and to stop bothering about this. So I told him this and didnt proceed with the claim. I had 7000 roughly stolen from me that I paid for insurance for and didn’t proceed because of his dementing absurd actions and him insisting to contact people who have no bearing on the situation.
2) I had nothing bad to say about the company as far as coverage for the cars so I let it go, bit my tounge and carried on happily as a customer.
3) I recently underwent a divorce and closed all my joint accounts, so I had multiple payments that were sent to closed accounts and I had never recieved.
-it had been ongoing for a while as my x did all our finances and I had no knowledge until I sat down and went over all. I called in and brought it up to a rep because I had a glass window break that also went to the wrong account who accused me of lying, and once again acted like I was doing something wrong. He went on to send all my claims/account to siu for investigations.
Scott kalinke (unlicensed rep) who mentioned all reps are unlicensed where he works was above and beyond the most rude, cs rep/agent I encountered who laughed at me about the payments, requested I furnish bills from claims almost a year prior handled by their 3rd party rep and insinuated that he would need all my financials furnished to get a chip in my window fixed)
*he sent off the payment issue to the only person at the company who is by far the most amazing professional employee they have Rachel Chavez. She by far should be running the company. Her professional treatment for all the issues was above and beyond. She was super empathetic, listened to the issues, and went above and beyond to research them to get the solution that was due to me. I can’t say enough kind things about the way she treated the situation about payments for the claims going back 6 months to closed accounts.
She happily researched them, got responses, took actions to help me and state farm get these payments recalled back and get them reissued. She never once treated me rude, insinuated I was lying, did anything but state the true honest facts and how we can research the problems and then act upon them.
She is the only reason I am still with the company and haven’t given up on them. She is the best employee you guys have and should train each and everyone how to act accordingly. She got to the bottom and the truth was what I mentioned and the payments were reversed. Not once did she make me feel like im a criminal, belittle me, act condescending like Scott kalinke did. I recorded him laughing at me and hanging up on me. Told him how rude he is and he said he didnt care, also told him im recording the calls and he said you can’t and I have to hang up multiple times.
He got an estimate for my windoes less than half the cost for replacement and said it does not matter because hes not gonna pay it.
So I have a chipped window, and a theft unpaid, unresolved due to 2 reps who went out of bounds to deny me coverage and act accordingly.
It’s a shame because I have dealt with so many great people at your company, and these bad eggs, should not be allowed to act as such. Should there be a question it should be dealt with professionally and if there is an issue, they should follow it out before making assumptions.
(Rachel did this, and found out I was correct and needed resolutions for the payments which she fixed)
claim number: 75-24z8-85w
1) I want my theft claim reassigned to Rachel or another rep, and coverage to be issued based on my policy without treatment as I received. List of stolen items, report filed, and signed paper was already uploaded.

2) my window claims I want the correct cost and labor to be paid so I can get a new window and have it paid for by my policy as I should.
3) I want you guys to listen to scott kalinke's calls with me I record all my calls and if wanted can share with you. I want him to be trained on how to treat someone and not to make assumptions before he knows facts.
4) underwriting should have vetted me if my status of being on probation was an issue. It should not have been used to scare me from proceeding with something I pay for coverage and make me call an attorney to be able to tell him he is out of bounds, and its not needed or required. I was in full obiedience of all laws. If you want to deny coverages based on this it should be asked, or vetted prior to issueing.
5) rachel chavez, should be a trainer or someone at the company to teach all reps how to act accordingly. She is someone who sets the bar for how to treat customers, and work efficiently, follow up, and really is someone you should not let go off because she is an amazing employee and your company is lucky to have her.
These tactics to scare, discourage clients to follow through with a claim for something they are entitled to and pay for coverages for is unethical, fraudulent, and a total unproffessional and in essence a form of theft and betrayel from an insured in my opinion and should not be tolerated.
1) I want my theft claim reassigned to rachel or another rep, and coverage to be issued based on my policy without treatment as I recieved. List of stolen items, report filed, and signed paper was already uploaded.

It was evaluated by bmw. They accessed all damages and made recommendations for the car to be back to 100%. After 5 suppliments there are multiple services that bmw recommends and was denied by sf, the rims took 3 suppliments and 4 weeks to get correct on the claim, no tires to go along with them, and bmw states 8 hours for the repair of one item that the adjuster insists on only giving 4 hours for repair (bmw manuel and guidelines state 7-8 hours. Also hugo insisted on me not being involved on conversations with bmw and him because he was telling them the repairs and what to do and not to make any adjustments etc aside from those.
Honestly im going to have to sell this car, because I want the repairs they recommended in the beginning not what Hugo strongarmed them into doing because of alienating the relationship between him and State farm and the dealership. Really not right..

Homeowners insurance
I had a flood in my house on September 22,2021 from a defective fire sprinkler. I collected the money myself to replace the "dwelling:, but State Farm refused to pay for the loss of rent from my tenants, and about $30,000 of my personal property losses.
I have had to hire nd ttorney, and the games are going back and forth and now i m out about $3,000.00 in attorneys fees and am getting nowhere.
I have found State Farm Assessor, Kevin Dunn to be extremely dishonest and can't stand dealing with him or State Farm. They made me feel like i was going to have a heart attack many times.
This is the third time I have had a problem with State Farm. A few years ago, I had to take hem to court because they would not be on my side in a car accident issue.
Abut twenty years ago, I also had a problem with them, lying to me and refusing to cover my damages. At that time, I actually picketed their office until they paid me. And they paid me to get rid of me. Thank God!
Desired outcome: I want to be paid $30,000 for my personal property losses.
Roof replacement
We had a tornado come through our area on September 1st 2022.
I had shingles fall off the roof and cause a leak in the ceiling in the carport. When reporting the claim to State Farm we were told sue to the severity of the tornado in the area if we need to have any work done temporarily to take photos and keep all receipts until a representative can make it to the property. We had to have a temporary repair done to stop the leak.
State Farm is not claiming the shingles are “slippage” rather than wind damage and refuse to pay.
I have been with State Farm close to 30 years had 1 claim over that time span. We have both cats insured, 2 rental properties and our home along with another policy with them.
It is now March of 2022 and I am still fighting with them. I have sent pictures, I have sent my receipts, I have had roofers call them, I have sent estimates, I have sent emails, only to receive voicemails from people who are not my representative claiming the damage is a maintenance issue because they are considering the shingles to have slipped and this is not wind damage. The roof has 2 layers of shingles so it cannot be repaired rather it needs to be replaced. I also heard why they are doing is illegal.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can rectify this issue?
Thank you
Desired outcome: New roof
Sorry to hear your troubles Sheryl,
We just got notice today that after 6 months of waiting for them to decide, they refused to replace my roof also. They claim it was normal wear and tare. In my area of IL. we have had several hail and winter storms come through and it caused me to lose 20+ shingles, half a gutter, sag in the roof from the weight of the snow. And leaking into our living room.
Really disappointing that after 20 years and one claim for a branch that hit a gutter (which they paid) that now they wont probably because of the amount. $$$ I'm removing my house, Boat, two vehicles from State Farm and telling everyone I know not to use them.
They claim there always here for us yet I need them and they let me down. After all the years and money I paid them, I could have bought 10 new roofs! Very sorry to hear your in the same boat. I wish you luck with your claim. We are moving to another insurance Co.. If this is the way State Farm takes care of the clients and "Veterans" then I say move on.
Good Luck!
Jim
Jim sorry to hear about your lack of success and concern from State Farm. I feel your pain. We are in the 6th month as well. We have never had a tornado in this area. It was horrific enough to live through it and to now fight with the insurance company is absurd. I have had the poor roofing people out there 3 times just to confirm once again it is in fact wind damage from the tornado. They are holding against me I did not wait to do a temporary repair, however their exact words on the phone to me was “if you cannot wait for us to get out there and you need to repair anything especially to prevent further damage, just take photos and keep receipts. All of which I did. This truly has been a nightmare. I heard State Farm was sued in the last few years due to unethical employees and now we are paying the price.
home
we had our water heater leak and it caused much damage and our state farm policy refuses to pay any settlement.
Desired outcome: pay for our home damages.
Local corporate office
I have been a State Farm customer since 1974. I like the insurance and trust State Farm. BUT I totally disagree with a recent move you made on the local level. Paul Tye, one of your agents in Texarkana, Texas, retired the end of November 2021. His office manager, Carla Bowman, had been with him for 32 years and we had become good friends. When Paul retired, Carla moved to Greg Cockerell's office. I moved my policy to Mr. Cockerell's office because I wanted to stay with Carla wherever she went because she is familiar with my policy and my family. Apparently I wasn't the only one to follow her. Lots more customers must have too. On February 25, the corporate office fired Carla because they decided she had influenced everyone to move to where she was. When she told them she didn't do that they said she should have discouraged anyone from leaving the agent that took over for Paul Tye and stay there. She did not influence me and I'm sure she didn't influence any of the others. Carla is a sweet, caring, lovely person and I trusted her to help me with any of my insurance problems or questions. I think State Farm did a sorry thing by firing her. She did NOTHING WRONG! If you believed she did something wrong, a reprimand would have been more appropriate. To my knowledge she has never had a problem before and has never had a black mark by her name. I am very upset with State Farm and I am seriously thinking of changing my insurance carrier. I'm sure there are a lot more customers that think the way I do. You lost a good and faithful employee when you let her go. SHAME ON YOU!
Claims Department
I am writing to express dissatisfaction with the claims department. On 3/4/2022 at approximately 6:30 am I was in an accident. My car was towed to Gate Citiy Towing. I completed a claims for online and spoke with a representative. I was told that the representative had everything he needed to process the claim and have the car towed to Caliber Collision.
One Tuesday 3/8/2022 I called Caliber Collision to get an estimate on the cost to fix the car and an estimated date of completion but was told that the car was not delivered to them. They had an approval from State Farms but not the car.
I called the Claims department again and was told that I have to set up a tow from State Farms and give a release to the towing company. The was not stated on 3/4/2020. I was under the impression that State Farms would arrange the towing from Gate City Towing to Caliber Collison. When I spoke to the claim department on 3/8/2022 at 8:30 am I was told that the car would be towed on 3/8/2022. However when I called at 3:30pm the car still had not been towed.
I called again on 3/9/2022 at 10:30 am only to be told that the car still had not been towed. This level of incompetence is unacceptable. I have been a State Farm subscriber for 28 year and I have never had a problem getting claims resolved. As a result of this incompetence I am having to extend my contract on the rental car. Each day the staff is lackadaisical in handling the claim it is costing me money.
Desired outcome: I would like people to do what they promise. I would like State Farm to assist with the cost associated with extending the rental.
I have had this happen to me about 3 times in the last 6 years concerning towing. First time my car sat disabled for 6 hours before being picked up. Glad I didn't wait. Second time my truck sat on the side of a major interstate for 8 hours with me in it. They called numerous companies. And now after calling for assistance some tow company called to advise it would be at least 24 hours with no eta. I called State F. only to be told they only use 1 "one" towing company nationwide and I had to live with it. Cancelled and called a local company who arrived exactly on time Been with State F. 40 plus years
