Mixed Experiences with Steep & Cheap
As someone who loves outdoor adventures, I've had mixed experiences with Steep & Cheap. While the prices are tempting and the selection is vast, the overall shopping process can be quite challenging. I've encountered issues with shipping accuracy and customer service responsiveness. It's disappointing when the product received doesn't match the description or when returns become a hassle. However, there have been instances where orders arrived promptly and as expected, showcasing the potential of this platform. If you're willing to take a chance for a good deal, just be prepared for possible bumps along the way.
Excellent Customer Service!
I normally don't take the time to write a review but felt inclined to this time. I ordered a jacket that was too small for me and returned it with no problem. There was a hiccup with the total amount returned but Chris who took my call immediately corrected it. Chris was very professional and helpful in resolving my matter. Thanks, Chris and Steep & Cheap. I'm looking forward to future purchases from you. Therese F
What a deal on Costa sunglasses
I was skeptical but went to a store, tries on several Costa sunglasses and lens colors, discovered a style and copper mirror that was sensational, found the glasses on Steep and Cheap, orders them and got them in two days as represented. They were $268 in store I looked at and I paid a little over $75 dollars including tax and shipping. I got them today and they are perfect. I can't believe i saved almost $200 Unbelievable!

Easy ordering quick delivery of expected product
On April 24,2020 I ordered a NorthFace Thermoball Triclimate ski jacket after checking reviews of the jacket.
The ordering process was easy and the product arrived May 1,2020 although it was misplaced(wrong box) by the USPS so I did not get it until May 4,2020. The product was in excellent shape and exactly as It was pictured. I have not used it yet skiing so my review is for using Steep & Cheap. The price was much cheaper than any other ski jacket online outlet. I would absolutely use this company again. Whe ski season starts this coming winter I will review the jacket itself.
Awesome, awesome customer service!
I was completely skeptical due to these reviews; however, I bit the bullet and bought a few coats for my 4 yo son. And by a few, I mean five. Before purchasing, I chatted with a "gearhead" to tell him my situation about being between sizes, and he assured me I could return the items for free as long as it was within 30 days and in unused condition. I went to return the items - called customer service this time (no chat option) - and they were fast and super helpful. Returned the too big and wrong color coats for free.
Not only that - his Marmot coat is great! All the coats sent were great! I would definitely buy from them again. I don't think I'd want to go through the process of returning things every time, but when it comes to buying for kids, they made the process very easy.
Disappointed with Steep & Cheap: My Experience with Their Customer Service Team
So, I've been shopping at Steep & Cheap for years now and it's safe to say I've spent a ton of cash on their products. But, let me tell you, my recent experience with their customer service team was not good.
I had bought two shirts, worth $90 each, but they didn't fit me at all. I hadn't even worn them yet and they had tags still attached. So, I decided to return them. But, surprise surprise, Steep & Cheap told me that I couldn't return the shirts. I was livid! I even escalated the issue to a manager but they didn't seem bothered at all and told me the same thing.
I mean, come on, can't you guys understand that times are tough for some people? But, I wasn't going to give up that easily. I looked up the return policy on their website and guess what it said? That they offer a "100% Guaranteed Returns" policy. So, I confronted them with this and after some back and forth, they eventually honored my return.
It's ridiculous that I had to practically proofread their own website for them but hey, I got my money back in the end. Steep & Cheap, you should definitely be doing better than this. And Backcountry, the parent company, should also take note of this. As for me, I might think twice before shopping from them again.
Sketchy Experience with Steep and Cheap - Buyer Beware!
So, I was like, strolling through the online world with my virtual basket and I ended up on Steep and Cheap. I was a bit apprehensive at first, but the prices were really good, so I decided to give it a go. I purchased a jacket for my daughter's boyfriend, and it arrived in a jiffy - no issues there.
But then, I went to check my bank account and saw that they charged me thrice! I was like, "What the heck?" So, I called up my credit card company, and we had a three-way conversation with Steep and Cheap.
Now, the customer service rep from Steep and Cheap seemed pretty confident that they only charged me once. But, thanks to my credit card company rep, we were able to dispute that right away. Eventually, the Steep and Cheap rep talked to their supervisor, and oh-so-graciously stated that they would remove two of the charges.
When I asked for an email confirmation, I was told they don't do that - WTF? So, now I'm just waiting around for the extra charges to fall off my account. If they don't within the next two weeks, my credit card company said they'll take care of things, so I'm kinda waiting for that to happen.
All in all, my experience with Steep and Cheap has been a bit sketchy. I mean, the prices are good, but the whole "buyer beware" thing is definitely accurate in my case.
Disappointing experience with Steep & Cheap ski gear: lost order, poor communication & confusing tracking system. Not recommended
So I was looking to get some ski equipment and decided to give Steep & Cheap a try. I ordered some boots and bindings on a Sunday night and paid for "faster than a snail mail" shipping, as I wanted to make sure I could take my gear with me on a weekend skiing trip to Mt. Adams.
The first few days their tracking system said that they had created a shipping label, but OnTrac apparently hadn't received my package yet. So I waited a bit, but when day six came around, I decided to call OnTrac to check what was going on. This is when I discovered that they had never actually received the package, even though S&C's tracking system indicated otherwise.
So, I contacted S&C to get some help and they immediately tried to blame OnTrac. After a bit of back and forth, I finally got one of their gearheads to admit that they actually had lost my order. At that point, I was pretty irritated, and threatened to cancel the order altogether. They eventually agreed to ship the gear again, this time overnight.
So, Tuesday rolls around and I'm thinking everything is sorted. But unfortunately, the tracking system says that they created a label for the package, but UPS still hasn't received it. Yet, S&C's tracking system indicates that it's actually been shipped and that it will arrive that very day. Confusing, right?
But that's not all. Shortly after, I receive another email from someone who tells me that my order is actually a split shipment, with one item coming from Utah and the other from Virginia. Seriously, what the fudge?
I tried to communicate with S&C to understand what was going on, but they wouldn't give me a straight answer, and their communication was honestly pretty bad. By this point, I was starting to get annoyed, and I didn't appreciate the lack of transparency.
Honestly, this experience was not my fave, and I wouldn't really recommend Steep & Cheap to anyone. They were frustrating to deal with, and their communication was just not up to scratch. Definitely a letdown.
Steep & Cheap Review: Terrible Customer Service & Confusing Return Policy
Let me tell you about my experience with Steep & Cheap, and it's not a pretty one. I am writing this review to caution anyone considering making a purchase from them – don't do it! I ordered a beanie which ended up getting lost in the mail. I reached out to their customer service hoping they could assist me with getting in touch with UPS to find the package. But, to my surprise, they flat out refused to help me out. Frustrated, I decided to ask for a refund instead. To my surprise, I received an email from who they claimed was their president apologizing for the trouble and offered to send me another beanie. Although grateful, I insisted that they file a claim with UPS to locate the missing beanie. But, they still refused and said they would just send me another.
A few weeks later, I went ahead and made another purchase and this time around, I ordered sunglasses. Unfortunately, I wasn't satisfied with them and had to return them. But, here's where things got fishy. Instead of refunding the full amount, I received only $4 back on my credit card. How could that be? Then, I discovered that the $15 charge was taken out to pay for the second beanie that they sent me in spite of my asking them not to.
What's worse, several weeks had gone by and I had no idea what had happened. If they wanted the second beanie back or wanted me to pay for it, then shouldn't they have informed me first? But no, they just deducted the amount without alerting me beforehand. To add insult to injury, I had to go through several phone calls and multiple emails to sort out the mess.
In summary, Steep & Cheap is a no-go for me. They have terrible customer service and a confusing return policy. If you order from them, be prepared to deal with a lot of complications.
Steep & Cheap Review: Score Sweet Gear for Dirt Cheap with Flash Deals!
Yo, let me tell y'all about Steep & Cheap, my absolute fave online store! It's like, this website that's all about "flash deals", which is just fancy talk for random sales that happen throughout the day. It's kinda like Woot.com, except Steep & Cheap has way more sales happening all the time.
Now, I gotta admit, this ain't for everyone. Sometimes you gotta spend a lot of time just waiting for the right deal to come along. And even then, there's no guarantee that the thing you want will be in stock or your size or whatever. But if you're patient, and lucky, you can score some pretty sweet gear for dirt cheap.
I mostly use Steep & Cheap to buy hiking and climbing stuff, like headlamps and ice axes. They have some clothes too, but that's a bit tougher since they sell out so fast. Still, if you do find something you like, you know you're getting it at the lowest price around.
What I really love about Steep & Cheap is how easy it is to buy stuff. Like, once you log in and start filling up your cart, everything just flows super smooth. And if you do need to return something, it's a breeze. No hassle at all.
Now, I was gonna give Steep & Cheap just a 3/4 rating because of the whole "flash deals" thing. But honestly, they're one of the best sites for this type of thing, so I gotta bump 'em up to a 4/4. They're not trying to be anything else, and they do what they do really well.
Review: Steep & Cheap - An Affordable Option or Not?
Yo, so I checked out Steep & Cheap (steepandcheap.com) and wanted to share my thoughts. First off, I found out they're pretty much owned by Backcountry.com and sell a lot of the same stuff. Sometimes there might be a different color or size available, but it's basically the same products.
But here's the deal, Steep & Cheap has some issues. The biggest one is their customer service is almost non-existent. Like, good luck trying to get any help from them. Another problem is their shipping charges. They can really ruin a good deal you thought you found unless you order a lot of stuff to make it worth it. And the worst part is that Backcountry.com offers free shipping on orders over $50, but Steep & Cheap makes you pay it no matter what.
So here's an example. Let's say there's a windbreaker jacket you want and Backcountry has it on sale for $90. But Steep & Cheap has it for $83. So you're like, "sweet, I'll order from Steep & Cheap and save some money." But then they add the shipping fee and your total ends up being more than $90. So it's actually better to order from Backcountry and get the free shipping.
My advice is to always check both websites and compare prices, including any shipping charges. I learned this the hard way when I didn't know about the connection between the two companies and ended up paying more at Steep & Cheap. And let me tell you, it's not worth returning something because they charge you $6.99 for a prepaid UPS label.
Honestly, I don't really see the point of Steep & Cheap when you can just shop at Backcountry.com. The shipping charges and lack of customer service just aren't worth it. Stick with the parent store and you'll still get a better deal.
Disappointing Experience with Steep & Cheap: Inventory Issues and Weak Customer Service
So, I gotta say, my first couple times shopping with Steep & Cheap were pretty sweet. Like, I'd order something, hold onto it for a week, then go back and add some more stuff I wanted to buy for just an extra buck on the shipping. But lately, my experience hasn't been as rad.
Like, okay, I wanted to buy this little thing, right? Had nothing to do with bikes or anything but when I went to check out they slapped me with a bike shipping charge. That's whack, man. So I sent them an email 'cause there's no phone number and it took forever for them to reply. By the time they got back to me, the item I wanted was already sold out. And all they had to say was "better luck next time" like wut?
But I'm not one to get easily discouraged, so I ordered a set of Kershaw knives. They sent me a confirmation and I waited a week to ship it with some other stuff for that sweet $1 deal. Then, on the day it was supposed to ship, I get an email saying there was some issue with their inventory tracking and the knives were actually gone. Like, how does that even happen? So I go to check on my sleeping bag order and it had already shipped. But instead of being an extra buck for shipping, they charged me full price like wut?
I'm sorry, but if they mess up and sell something they don't have, shouldn't they at least give me that $1 shipping option or let me cancel the rest of the order? I only got the sleeping bag 'cause I wanted that sweet one dollar deal, not if it was gonna cost me a full shipping charge. Honestly, the customer service has been pretty weak sauce. It happened twice now and I don't know if I'm gonna shop with them again.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Steep & Cheap - My Thoughts on Their Quality & Support
So, I gotta tell you about this experience I had with Steep & Cheap. I ordered a kayak from their website, as I was looking to buy 3 kayaks this year and wanted to test it out first. But boy, was I surprised when it arrived all scraped and scuffed! I didn't think much of it at first, I mean, it's a kayak, right? It's gonna get beat up on the river anyways. But when I inspected it a bit more, I noticed that the bottom had been crushed in the center.
Naturally, I called Steep & Cheap to see if I could do anything about it. But man, the customer service I received was less than stellar. After I explained what happened, the dude on the phone just hung up on me! Rude. So, I called back and the same guy told me that since I had signed for it, there was absolutely nothing they could do. But I wasn't satisfied with that answer, so I asked to speak to a supervisor. And what did he tell me? "No sorry, they're pretty busy people." Ugh, seriously?
Eventually, after being on hold for a solid 8 minutes, I got disconnected. So much for customer service, right? In the end, I'm glad I tested out a cheaper kayak first, 'cause I learned a valuable lesson. I'll never be shopping at Steep & Cheap or Backcountry again. And if I do decide to buy something online in the future, I'll be sure to refuse it if there's even a single scratch on it. It's not that they wouldn't do anything to help me out, it's just how they treated me that really got under my skin.
Avoid Steep & Cheap: Horrible Customer Service and Refund Nightmares
So, here's the deal with Steep & Cheap. If you're looking for a headache, go ahead and shop there. But if you value your time and your sanity, stay far, far away.
I had the misfortune of purchasing a defective item from them, and let me tell you, the process of trying to get a refund was a nightmare. I sent them a picture of the defective item and asked for a free shipping label. They agreed, which was a small victory, but then things went downhill fast.
First, they refunded me the wrong amount, and when I pointed it out, they straight up lied about it. They made up all kinds of nonsense about how I had to pay for the "free" shipping, even though that makes zero sense.
But it didn't stop there. They kept harassing me with fake information and fake refund codes that Paypal confirmed were fake. They promised to take care of it, and then did nothing. And when I tried to follow up with them, they pretended to not know what I was talking about.
I lost count of how many emails I sent them, but it was at least 10 or 20. And every single one was a repeat of the same thing, because they just couldn't seem to get their act together.
And let's not forget the lovely employees who made my life a living hell during this process. Alli J, Corey Ha, Anna G, Michaela W, Douglas T, Ryker G, and Colton B - congrats on being some of the worst customer representatives I've ever had to deal with.
So, long story short, if you value your time, your money, and your sanity, do NOT shop at Steep & Cheap. Save yourself the headache and shop somewhere else.
Review of Steep & Cheap: Good for Darn Tough Socks, Shipping Prices are Steep
So, I checked out Steep & Cheap before buying some socks from them. I know some folks didn't give them a great score, but I'm a risk-taker, so I went for it. Honestly, I couldn't tell you where they are based, but I was a bit surprised when my order of five pairs of low-profile socks, that weighed less than a pound, ended up costing a combined $14 for tax and shipping. Seems like a lot for something so small, but hey, maybe it's just part of their name, you know?
When I placed my order, I got a confirmation email saying I was signed up for their newsletter. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of spam mail, so I hit them back to take me off any future emails. They were super prompt in getting back to me, which was a relief.
In the end, I got my socks in good shape and pretty fast too. I don't think I'd buy a ton of outdoor gear from them, though. My go-to for that stuff is usually eBay- their prices are hard to beat. I only shopped at Steep & Cheap this time because they had a sale on a brand I love (Darn Tough). Those socks come with a lifetime warranty, so I know I'm saving in the long run. Steep & Cheap had them for just over $13 per pair, which is way less than the usual $20 retail. Factoring in tax and shipping, it came out to around $16 a pair, which is still a good deal.
So, if I ever need more Darn Tough socks, I'd hit up Steep & Cheap again. But I wouldn't make them my first stop- there are plenty of alternatives out there with better prices.
Steep & Cheap Complaints 13
I had good experience for the first 2 times when I
I had good experience for the first 2 times when I ordered items and used their hold for a week and buy other items for $1 shipping feature. However, my recent experience has been lackluster. I wanted to buy a small item but found that bicycle shipping charges were used eventhough the item was not even related to a bicycle. Since there was no phone number, I emailed them. Much time elapsed and by the time they replied, the item was sold out! I just got the flippant response, "better luck next time"... Then, I ordered a set to Kershaw knives. The order was confirmed and I held off shipping for a week so ship each additional item for $1. I then ordered a sleeping bag. On the day the item was shipped, I got an email that they had an issue with their inventory tracking and the knife set was actually sold out. So, I went to their website to check the status of my sleeping bag. It was shipped out BUT instead of the $1 shipping, I was charged the full price as it if I never ordered the knife set and they messed up on their end. Since they messed up on their inventory tracking, shouldn't they also give me the $1 shipping or give me the option to cancel the remainder of the order since it was revised without my permission? I only bought the sleeping bag for the $1 shipping deal, not if it would cost me the full shipping! That is poor customer service twice now!
Poor customer service
I'll admit that I made a mistake, but I did not expect such rude service. I ordered a kayak from Steep and Cheap. Being that it was my first time buying a kayak online I wanted to test it out on the cheapest of 3 kayaks I'll be buying this year. When it arrived scraped and scuffed I Shrugged It Off because I mean it's a kayak, it's going to get beat up on the river anyways, right? I looked it over for obvious problems and did not immediately see any. So I signed for it and through it the back of my truck and went out to the lake to test it out. When I went to unload it something just didn't quite look right and I noticed that the bottom had been crushed some in the center. So I called Steep and Cheap to see what I could do and was hung up on. So I called back and the guy put me on hold then told me since I signed for it there's absolutely nothing they could do. So I ask for a supervisor and he replied "no sorry, they're pretty busy people". When I asked if I could talk to supervisor again he said no but he will see what he can do and put me on hold. I was on hold for about 8 minutes and then it was disconnected.
Long story short I'm glad that we tested this on a cheaper kayak because I learned two valuable lessons. First I will never buy from steepandcheap or backcountry ever again and second, if I choose to go this route in the future if there is a single scratch it will be refused.
It's not that they wouldn't do anything for me that's the problem. It's how I was treated.

Steep & Cheap Review: Snag Sweet Deals on Outdoor Gear, but Beware of the Catch
Alright y'all, let me tell you about Steep & Cheap. This site is all about snagging some sweet deals on outdoor gear. How do they do it? They buy up all the stuff that didn't quite make the cut at the manufacturer. But hey, just because something's got a small flaw doesn't mean it's not gonna work perfectly fine. And Steep & Cheap makes sure you know exactly what you're getting with their super detailed descriptions and photos.
Now here's the catch: if you buy something and end up not liking it, you're gonna have to pay for shipping to send it back. Seems fair, right? But here's the sneaky part: that shipping adds to their volume with UPS, which means they're getting some sweet discounts on shipping overall (including for their parent company, Backcountry.com). And let's be real, those private equity guys who own Backcountry? They're not in it for the long haul. They just wanna make a quick buck, and they'll do whatever they can to cut costs. That includes prioritizing Backcountry customers over us Steep & Cheap shoppers.
But you know what, we're not gonna play their game anymore. We're not gonna be the "greater fool" who keeps lining their pockets while getting the short end of the deal. We're gonna keep snatching up those sweet deals, and we're gonna demand fair treatment. So if you're as stoked on outdoor gear as I am, head on over to Steep & Cheap and let's stick it to the man!
Beware of Shady Pricing Tactics on Steep & Cheap: A Review
Okay, so let me tell you about Steep & Cheap. If you're into outdoor gear and accessories, you've probably heard of them. They've got some cool stuff on there, no doubt about it. But here's the thing - there's some sketchy stuff going on with their pricing.
I mean, I get it. Sales are a thing. But if you put something in your cart and wait a bit, you might notice some strange fluctuations in the price. And not the good kind of fluctuations, if you know what I mean. Like, you could be eyeing a sweet jacket for weeks, debating whether to pull the trigger. And then when you finally decide to do it, suddenly the price goes up because of some "sale". And then when the sale ends, it goes back down again. What the heck?
Now, I know some people are okay with this. They're all about the deals, and I can respect that. But me? I like my purchases to come from a company that has some integrity. I mean, if they're willing to play games with their prices like that, what else are they willing to do?
Don't get me wrong, Steep & Cheap has some good stuff. But I think it's worth considering whether you want to support a company that engages in shady practices. Just something to think about.
Steep and Cheap: Poor Checkout Experience and Unwanted Spam Emails
So, I thought I'd give Steep and Cheap (steepandcheap.com) a try. I saw something I wanted to buy for $20, but as soon as I clicked on "checkout," I was forced to sign up with my email. No guest checkout option here folks! Alright, I reluctantly gave them my email, but then I noticed something fishy. There was no subscribe/unsubscribe option. They automatically signed me up for their mailing list without my permission. Seriously, what the heck?!
I got my first email from them and it was pure spam. Not even any good deals or anything. Just your typical "buy this now" kind of stuff. Ugh. So, I messaged their customer service team and asked them to unsubscribe me. They said they did, but I still got more spam emails from them. I waited for 10 whole days before I had to take action. That's right, I had to submit a complaint to both the FTC and BBB because they just wouldn't stop harassing me.
I mean, honestly, is it really that hard to unsubscribe from these kinds of things in 2019? It shouldn't be! I regret trying to save $5 with this company and I'll never do business with them again. It's not worth the spam and hassle. Steer clear, folks!
Buyer Beware: Hidden Charges on Steep & Cheap Purchase
So, I wanted to share my experience with Steep & Cheap. I recently made a purchase on their website and was excited to receive my items. However, when I checked my credit card statement, I noticed that I was charged a few cents extra compared to what my bill stated. At first, I thought it was just a mistake, but when I contacted their customer service team, they explained to me that they do this to prevent fraud. I found it strange and honestly, a bit annoying.
Luckily, I noticed the extra charge because my credit card company sends me text alerts for every transaction. Who knows how many people didn't catch it and ended up paying more than they should have? It just doesn't seem right. I mean, I've shopped online and in-store for years and never had this issue with any other vendor.
Eventually, they did fix the charge, but the whole ordeal left a bad taste in my mouth. I won't be making any more purchases from Steep & Cheap because I don't want to risk having to deal with something like this again. It's a shame because they have some great deals, but customer service and transparency are important to me.
Overall, I would say to be cautious when shopping on Steep & Cheap and make sure to keep an eye on your credit card statements. Who knows what other surprises might pop up. So, take care, guys! Don't forget to watch your statements!
Steep & Cheap Shipping Policy is a Nightmare - My Experience & Review
Alright, so I had an experience with Steep & Cheap (steepandcheap.com) that made me wonder if I'd ever shop with them again. I ordered a kayak from them, which had to be shipped via freight, and had it sent to my job. When it arrived, it was only wrapped in plastic, and one of my coworkers signed for it. It wasn't until a few days later that I looked at it and saw that it was super messed up - scratches everywhere, and there was even a freakin' hole in the bottom of it!
So, I called up the folks at Steep & Cheap, and they told me that if I wanted a new kayak, I'd have to pay to send the old one back, and then pay shipping AGAIN for the new one. That's three times I'd have to shell out for shipping, and all for a $400 kayak. That's insane!
Personally, I'd recommend just spending the extra money to shop somewhere else that won't make you pay out the nose for shipping and returns. Ain't nobody got time or money for that kind of nonsense.
WARNING: Steep and Cheap's Overwhelming Spam & Frustrating Customer Service
Alright, listen up folks because I've got a warning to share about Steep and Cheap. If you decide to buy something from this site, be prepared for a bombardment of spam that will hound you until the end of time. I'm not kidding, every single email they send you will have an option to "Unsubscribe" but it's like playing a game of Whack-a-Mole because they just keep coming back. And don't even bother trying to get in touch with their customer service. They're about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.
It's like the company is run by two people - one who packs your order and the other who adds your name to their never-ending email list. And god forbid something goes wrong with your order, because those two people won't have time to do anything about it. Good luck trying to get a response from them on their website or Facebook page. It's like shouting into the void.
Sure, they may have some decent deals on outdoor gear and clothing, but is it really worth it if you're constantly bombarded with spam? I don't think so. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. Trust me, your inbox will thank you.
Review: Steep & Cheap, the Outdoor Gear Discount Site - Not as Good as it Used to Be
I gotta say, when I first stumbled upon Steep & Cheap, I was all like "Whoa, dude, this site is dope!" I mean, killer deals for those of us who love to be out in the great outdoors? Yes, please! They were offering up brand spanking new products from the previous year's line for anywhere from 30% to 80% off! Now that's what I call a discount!
So, here's the dealio: they used to sell one item at a time for a super low price (seriously, it was nuts how much you could save). They kept selling it until they ran out of stock or a set amount of time had passed (usually an hour or so). It really was a win-win situation: we got rad deals and they were able to sell off their excess inventory.
But, now, as I sit here pondering, I can't give them the same high rating I would have two years ago. The discounts just aren't as good as they used to be, and the selection isn't as top notch either. Don't get me wrong, there's still some decent stuff on there, but it's all hella expensive for a discount site.
So, yeah, overall, I'd give Steep & Cheap a decent rating, but not a full-on five stars like I would have back in the day. Happy shopping, y'all!
Unhelpful Customer Service and Shady Practices: My Steep & Cheap Review
So, I decided to order something from Steep & Cheap and I wanted to make sure that I got the right size. I asked them about the size and they told me what "gearheads" said.
But when the item arrived, it wasn't in the original box, and the size was completely wrong! I was not happy about this, so I reached out to the customer service team. They gave me a shipping label for free so I could return the item.
But then, after I sent it back, I didn't receive a refund for the shipping or the tax. I tried to contact them about this and show them all the evidence, but they were not helpful at all! They basically ignored everything I said and just told me that it's not their policy to refund shipping or tax.
Honestly, this is so messed up! It feels like they're trying to pull a fast one on me, and it's definitely not something I'm going to stand for! I don't think I'll ever shop here again, or at Backcountry for that matter. It's just not worth dealing with such shady and unethical practices! So, my advice to you is to steer clear of Steep & Cheap and find another retailer that you can count on!
Mixed feelings about Steep & Cheap - Great Prices, but Beware of Hidden Return Fees
Alright, alright, alright. Let me tell you about my experience with Steep & Cheap. I was searching high and low for a red ski pant, and stumbled upon their website. Let me tell you, their prices are pretty sweet compared to other sites. Plus, I needed that pant ASAP for the coming weekend. So I paid a few extra bucks for the 3-day delivery, and guess what? They delivered it right on time. Kudos to them for that.
But here's the kicker - the ski pant didn't fit me at all. So, I had to bite the bullet and return it. Now, I knew there was gonna be a return fee of $6.99, and I was fine with that. But what really grinds my gears is that when they refunded me, they deducted the return fee from the item price that I paid, and then added back the sales tax. So basically, I didn't get the full sales tax amount that I paid them. That's messed up, man. Steep & Cheap, you guys need to get your act together. It's common sense to deduct the return fee from the total amount that I paid, and not the other way around.
Honestly, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't think I'll be making another purchase from Steep & Cheap anytime soon. It's a shame, really, because their prices are pretty killer. But if they can't get the basics right in terms of customer service, then what's the point? Save yourself the trouble, and shop elsewhere.
False Advertising and Poor Ethics: My Experience Shopping with Steepandcheap.com
Hey guys, I gotta tell you about my experience with steepandcheap.com. So, I found this website online and decided to do some shopping. I ordered 4 items and got a confirmation email saying I would get them in two separate packages. Cool, no problem. But then a few days later I go back to check on my order and what do I see? Only ONE item listed! What the heck, man?! So I call em up and give em a piece of my mind, and the customer service person tells me that they took 3 of my items off my order because the prices were too low. ARE. YOU. KIDDING. ME. Like seriously, if you list a price you gotta stick to it, right? The manager even confirmed it. So yeah, needless to say, I won't be shopping with steepandcheap or their parent company www.backcountry.com ever again. False advertising, poor ethics, NOT COOL.
