LEAK AT CLIMATE CONTROLLED STORAGE FACILITY
LEAK AT CLIMATE CONTROLLED STORAGE FACILITY. Everything in storage unit got wet and ruined. Storage Post Brooklyn was a real pain to work with to fix the problem. It took them over 6 months to even respond - and when they finally did, they only offered less than 10% of what I lost.
Just terrible!
Just terrible! The customer service was horrible which led me to this point. I was talking back and forth with them regarding my poor customer service incident and while in the talks they auctioned off ALL my belongings. I'm totally disgusted and plan on suing. DONOT DO BUSINESS HERE!
There's a serious problem with theft at this storage facility
There's a serious problem with theft at this storage facility. I lost a significant amount of personal belongings, totaling over ***. The issue is that Storage Post didn't take any action to improve their camera surveillance or security, despite the increasing number of break-ins. I couldn't believe how easily my lock was cut and how effortlessly my belongings were wheeled out. It seems like the only person maintaining this location is someone in the lobby. It's important to be aware of the dangers here. I never thought that Christmas stockings with mine and my child's names would be considered valuable, but the thieves took them. It's a sad reflection of our society. Additionally, the police at *** were not helpful at all. The female agent was incredibly rude, using inappropriate language. She kept asking if I wanted their help, as if it was a burden for them. It's disheartening to see that crime is so prevalent everywhere.
I was late 8 days for payment and they wouldn't let me get my stuff
I was late 8 days for payment and they wouldn't let me get my stuff. I've been a customer for like a year and I pay almost $200 a month, which is crazy. All I wanted was to grab a few things, you know? I get it if they don't let me in after 30 days of not paying, but 8 days? Come on. I asked to talk to the manager and I waited in the office while the employee, who I guess was the manager, just left without saying anything. They left me there, just standing. That's so disrespectful and unprofessional. I'm definitely taking my stuff somewhere else.
I had a terrible experience at Storage Post Self Storage in Brooklyn, NY
I had a terrible experience at Storage Post Self Storage in Brooklyn, NY. I lost around $12,000 worth of stuff from my unit due to theft. It was a shocking discovery for me, and to make matters worse, there were two detectives present in the office at that time. The office employee and the detectives mentioned that they had visited multiple times to file reports for other thefts. It seemed like thefts were happening frequently, and Storage Post did nothing to improve security or inform the tenants about these incidents. It went on for months, and there were at least 15 thefts, maybe even more.
After a long time, they finally decided to upgrade the cameras in the facility, but it seems like they only did so on the ground level. There were no cameras on the individual floors, which is quite disappointing. It's important to have surveillance throughout the entire facility to ensure the safety of everyone's belongings.
If you have also experienced theft at the Storage Post facility in Brooklyn within the past year, please reach out to me at storagetheft at g mail dot com. It would be helpful to connect and share our experiences.
The place has gone down the drain, my unit got infested with roaches
The place has gone down the drain, my unit got infested with roaches. I reached out to corporate and still haven't gotten a response. I've been a customer for several years and I pay almost $200 per month for storage, and I'll have to damage all my belongings due to unresolved pest control. The *** need to inspect this whole building. This is disgusting and heartbreaking. No one deserves this lack of customer service and disregard for their property. I pay insurance every month to protect my precious property just for it to be infested with roaches. This isn't a true representation of the company values, and the front desk/managers at the location need some reinforcement on professionalism and customer service training.
Terrible customer service!
Terrible customer service! We had our stuff in Storage Post Self Storage for 4+ years but when we came to take out our stuff on the 21st, we found a lock on it. Our bill was due on the 19th and it was paid. We should really get refunded for that too since it doesn't make sense to pay a full month just for 2 days. We had emailed Storage Post notifying them of our move out date, but they ignored it. After spending hours on the phone with customer services and even getting a number for the manager, we got nowhere and the mover had to charge us for coming down. The next day, Monday, he returned to find the lock still wrongfully on! The lame excuse was that their employer was sick! This is not excusable. I should have access to my storage at all times. This thing costed us $2000 extra. Moving is expensive enough, and this made it very unpleasant. Think twice before storing at the Suffern location.
I've been a customer at Storage Post Self Storage for over 6 years
I've been a customer at Storage Post Self Storage for over 6 years. I used to have two units, but they merged them into one. My unit used to cost *** per month, and they also charged me for insurance, even though I already have my own insurance with State Farm. Recently, I received an email saying that my rent will increase to *** per month from *** per month. In all my 6 years here, I've never seen such a big increase. Sure, there were small increases before, but nothing like this. The notice said it would be *** per month, but then it mysteriously jumped to 450,00 per month after I made an online payment. They told me it's based on the rates of similar units, but I've been here for a long time, so why should I be taken advantage of while others who have been here for the same amount of time aren't? This increase is way too much, and I'm going to report it to the *** attorney generals office. The manager said she would get back to me by Wednesday, but she never did. I had to call her again, and as of now, I still haven't heard from anyone. Times are already tough, and I don't need this. It feels like everything is getting more expensive, and all these businesses are just being greedy. It's like runaway inflation, and it's not fair.
Storage Post Jersey City is in a flood zone, and it has flooded before, including on 9/1
Storage Post Jersey City is in a flood zone, and it has flooded before, including on 9/1. The letter from Storage Post mentioned that there was water outside my unit, but they didn't mention that the nearby river caused about 2 inches of water to enter the unit. This varied depending on the location, size of the unit, and how items were packed, but every unit on the main floor was affected. The company is not honoring claims from holders of the "elite" tenant protection plan, claiming it was a 500-year flood. Really? Was Sandy also 500 years ago? They don't disclose this water problem before renting, so you can't take any measures to protect your unit with blocks, pallet boards, water snakes, dehumidifiers, or mold remediation. They also don't do anything to protect their property or provide these items for tenants to use. Instead, they just send a casual letter, and many displaced people may not know the extent of the water damage, which causes further damage to the facility and other units. It's terrible that they raise rates and bill while this is happening. It's really bad. They seem to treat some clients better based on how long they've been tenants or how many units they rent. Regardless, this facility has failed to take responsibility. They could get FEMA loans/grants to fix the issues, and they're probably covered for flood damage by FEMA. But don't expect them to do anything about it. They hide the facts, blame others, and offer a dumpster. Thanks... for nothing.
Storage Post Self Storage Complaints 6
I reported to the police on 06/01/2022, and I've been paying *** every month since 2018 for renting a storage unit at Storage Post Self
I reported to the police on 06/01/2022, and I've been paying *** every month since 2018 for renting a storage unit at Storage Post Self Storage. Unfortunately, my unit got broken into from the top of my locker, and I even have videos to prove it. I reported the incident to the police and filed a claim, but it was denied. I can provide the letter of denial as proof. It's frustrating because I pay both monthly rent and insurance.
I switched to a different Storage Post location from the one I was previously using
I switched to a different Storage Post location from the one I was previously using. They told me that I would receive a full refund for the storage rent that I had already paid. I moved out on June 16th, and my payment was processed on June 9th. I have called three times and even reached out to Theresa at the main office, but unfortunately, I haven't received any help. They promised to call me back twice, but I still haven't heard from them. They owe me $280.
I've been using this place for storage for a long time, and in the last couple of years, my payments have gone up by 61 bucks since I started
I've been using this place for storage for a long time, and in the last couple of years, my payments have gone up by 61 bucks since I started. I used to pay around 196, maybe even less. Then it went up to 224, then 236, and now they want 257. They say it's because of the pandemic, but I can understand that for 2019 and 2020. But to keep using that excuse in 2021 and 2022 isn't fair. It's almost a 61 dollar increase in just a few years. They can't keep doing this and blame it on the pandemic. It's getting old. Plus, I keep finding dead mice and stuff outside my unit. So what am I even paying for? I've never complained before, but 257 bucks a month is way too much for storage. I've had enough.

Storage Post knew for sure that I hadn't been notified 'bout the upcoming auction of my storage unit, but they went ahead and did it anyway
Storage Post knew for sure that I hadn't been notified 'bout the upcoming auction of my storage unit, but they went ahead and did it anyway. When I reached out to 'em, I showed 'em proof of this and asked for the insurance contact info I got from 'em, as well as the buyer's contact details. They flat out said no to both my requests. So, I went ahead and filed an arbitration with AAA, like the contract I signed with Storage Post required. But guess what? They completely ignored the Arbitrator's messages and didn't pay the fee. I've now told AAA to take Storage Post off their list of businesses they deal with for disputes. I've also asked Nassau County to cancel Storage Post's business license. Right now, I'm askin' for the full replacement cost of my storage unit's contents. I'll be uploadin' the documentation real soon.
I closed my storage space at Storage Post in Brooklyn, NY 'bout 1 year ago and they said they'd mail me the check with the $496 security deposit
I closed my storage space at Storage Post in Brooklyn, NY 'bout 1 year ago and they said they'd mail me the check with the $496 security deposit. But, a few months later, they asked me to send an image of my ID and updated address in FL. So, I did it and sent everything to Jessica Santos cc: Atlantic . But, guess what? The refund never showed up! I emailed Jessica and called again on Feb 8, 2021, 12:10 PM, but no refunds came my way. Then, I called and talked to Aaron Pierre and he promised to fix things, but still no refunds. I just want my money back, you know? I've been calling every month, but all I get are excuses. This storage unit was paid for by my original storage place in NYC. They sold their spot in Chelsea and moved me to Storage Post. But, guess what again? Some of my furniture got broken and damaged during the transfer. And you know what's even worse? I didn't get any refund for that or my security deposit. If I don't get my money back soon, my lawyer's gonna have to step in.
In February , there was a fire in the same building as my storage unit
In February , there was a fire in the same building as my storage unit. I was notified about the fire in March and was told that my unit had been moved to a new one. They asked me to come to the office to get the lock key because they had to cut mine off. They also mentioned that there was some soot damage. Due to the pandemic, I couldn't go and check my unit until August . That's when I discovered that my unit was severely damaged. All my belongings were wet and covered in mold. I wouldn't have known about the water damage unless they had told me, as they only mentioned the fire. When I brought this up to the manager, he admitted that the stuff they used to put out the fire caused the water damage. I told him it would have been helpful to know, especially since it's summer in New Orleans and mold is common. I soon realized that they had also lied about the location of the fire because my furniture had singe marks and there was soot everywhere. Everything was destroyed, except for a few boxes with papers that had rat droppings on top. I realized I had to empty out my unit to make a claim since I couldn't see everything in the back. I am currently in Texas, waiting for my house to be ready for move-in in November. I returned to the storage unit in February when I had the time and money, but the truck I rented wasn't big enough and I needed more help, so I couldn't move everything out at that time. I came back in June with a U-Haul and hired two professional workers to help me. That's when I realized I had to throw away everything because most of my bedroom furniture was damaged by fire, water, and soot. My clothing, in particular, was molded over six times. I had to dispose of everything. I filed a claim on the same day and handed it in. It was processed, and I received a release form to sign on July 13th. I signed and sent it back on July 14th. They told me to wait 2-6 weeks to receive the check. However, as of September 1st, I still haven't received it. When I contacted them again, they told me to wait another 6 weeks. They haven't been responsive to my claims.
