Damaged furniture
MR POTGIETER MOVED FROM FORT BUAFORT TO VENTERSBURG.
STUTTAFORD VAN LINES DROPPED HIS FURNITURE ON HIS LAWN WITHOUT CHECKKING IF ALL GOODS ARE OFF LOAD.
THERE WERE BOXES MISSING, BOXES DAMAGED( OPENEND)
FURNITURE WERE DAMAGED.
HIS PRIVATE INSURANCE INDEMNIFIED HIS STOLEN GOODS ABOUT R30 000 now stuttafords will not assist with the damaged furniture and they were negligence .
Desired outcome: please refund mr potgieter for his damaged goods, R23 000
Damage of property during move without acknowledgement or feedback
Unfortunately it seems that we have to consider further action against Stuttafords. I know they are a big company, but not above ethical behavior. I consider involving Carte Blanche and below my draught e mail I want to send to them. Obviously engaging in action like this we have to be honest and truthful in our statements, thus the below draught in order for us to clarify and agree on the facts. Please feel free to comment and advise where you view my statements as incorrect or false. Also please forward me the e mail address for you customer care/complaint center.

I hope you can assist with engaging with and investigating our experience with Stuttaford Van Lines:
1. We chose Stuttafords to move our household from Eswatini to Cape Town (Paarl)
2. On arrival after two months of storage we had extensive damage to our property, cabinets, appliances tables etc. We forwarded all evidence and submitted the claim. We moved into our property beginning of February 2022, now three month later with no feedback.
3. Stuttafords, although a removal company could not deliver my boat. Part of the agreement/cost included storage until end Feb, our house hold goods arrived in CT in December. I was told to fetch my boat in person and on arrival got told/realized that my boat was standing outside next to the storage facility since December until end April. Needless to say with the Cape Summers reaching temperatures up into the high 30 degrees, sometimes reaching 40 degree Celsius. My boat was severely damaged by the sun. Seats, motor, as well as the fiber glass body suffered extensive damage. In my view this has nothing to do wit insurance but just direct gross negligence as Stuttafords had ample space inside the warehouse.
4. Needless to say it is a topic we frequently discuss at social events and gatherings and so far met at least 3 other couple with similar experiences with Stuttafords. I assume the more people we can rally together, the better the impact?
5. I also aim to report this matter to The Office of The Consumer Protector, Facebook, Hello Peter as well as Word of Mouth.
6. If the above fails I will consider legal action.
7. Most importantly I feel it is my right to warn/protect as many people as possible from similar incidents in the future and was hoping you can assist. I also need to cover my personal losses in full. I do feel that Carte Balance will have the best impact in protecting consumers and awaiting your positive response.

misplaced wardrobe carton, insurance company does not want to pay in full
A wardrobe carton was missing from my shipment that I received from Stuttafords van Lines courier company. As a result I submitted a claim for the items in the box as per the inventory list. I am quite upset with the proposal that has been given to me by your insurance. They are not giving me the total amount that was claimed and they are insisting that according to your policies, they take the total amount that is claimed and divide it by the number of boxes. This is not mentioned anywhere in the policy and contract that I signed

Requested invoices for 3 months before receiving anything. Once I received the invoice I was over charged - adding VAT twice. This took months to sort out.
I paid to have my container shipped and I was given another quote instead of an invoice for the difference in shipment charges. Then instead of getting an invoice for the difference in shipment fees I get an invoice charging another month of storage and insurance extension.

In Sep 2017 I employed the services of your company to facilitate my move from Port Elizabeth to Canada. I had my house packed by stuttafords and put into storage. I am currently in Canada and am ready to have my goods shipped up to me. I contacted my agent in PE for a revised quote and was shocked at the steep increase in price.
The original quote was around R 111852, this included packing and shipping. The revised quote I received is R 115218, just for the shipping. I had already paid around R 25 000 to have my house packed as part of the original quote. This would indicate an increase in price of 26% in under a year. this is absolutely obscured and I would like someone to look into this. The agent has repeatedly mentioned that the increase is due to increase in fuel and contractor costs, which is understandable, but still does not warrant a 26% increase. I am at the point where I am considering reaching out via social media and even having my move handled by another company. I have had many back and forth correspondences with the agent in PE with no resolution to the matter. This is my last attempt at resolving the matter with your company. Your reply will determine my actions going forward.

I hired Stuttaford Van Lines in Cape Town for the door to door shipping of my household effects to Houston, Texas. They specified that their costs did not include additional costs levied by Customs. Their partners on the receiving end, Sea and Air International, presented me with a bill for $3, 700.00, over half of my shipping costs to Stuttaford, only $99.00 of which was from Customs directly. Through much research I have found out that there are, in fact, many other costs that they incur in the handling of people’s shipments. However, as I researched those from the company whom Sea and Air had to pay, Mediterranean Shipping Company, there were $1500.00 unaccounted for. I shouldn’t have even had to conduct my own research, as Stuttaford should have made sure the charges were legitimate on my behalf. They are, after all, the company I hired for door to door service. Sea and Air refused to send an itemized account to substantiate their final charges. I asked Stuttaford to intervene on my behalf. They asked Sea and Air for supportive documentation and Sea and Air sent the same four, vague invoices as before. Instead of telling them that this documentation was insufficient and unacceptable, Stuttaford backed them up and stopped responding to my pleas for help. I ended up paying the full amount. I paid under duress, threatened with further per diem charges of $185.00 because they had to return the empty container! I was bullied and this was tantamount to extortion, and the company that I hired, Stuttaford Van Lines, allowed it, and was, therefore, complicit. They didn’t care whether I had a satisfactory experience as a client, let alone became the victim of an obvious scam!
