A friend and myself went to a Subway located at 10383 Hwy 12, Orange Texas 77632. I started my order for me and my husband, my friend also made his sandwich selection. While I was starting to select the vegetables for my sandwich my friend went to the register to pay he handed over the coupons. The young lady asked another employee if they were talking any coupons, the second young lady said that her boss told he not to except any Subway coupons. We received these coupons in the on September 20, 2017 with an expiration date of 11/02/17, one was Get any footlong for $6 the other one was Get any 2 footlongs for $10 after 4 pm. Can someone please explain to me how a franchise store representing Subway corporation denie to except corporate discounts in the form of coupons?
I live in a very small town in a Kentucky. I received a coupon booklet in the mail from Subway, my family stopped by this local Subway thinking these coupons would be honored since this is the only Subway in 30 miles. The sales person started to take our order and there was a hand made sign on the window..that they did not take paper coupons. I preceded to ask her if she meant the coupons I had in my hand and she said yes, they were privately owned and they didn't accept them. My family turned and walked out. This is in my opinion very bad business and there are other restaurants that would love my business.
I think "wine is good" needs another drink. I am old enough to have enough sense to know that a business cannot keep refusing coupons for this franchise and stay open when the customers keep getting coupons in the mail for this business.
Old post, but there's a fiasco going on in our small town with the only Subway not accepting recently mailed coupons. In your response to your question. "Do you even know WHY franchise stores do not take corporate coupons? I am guessing you do not. " - The Reason is because the Franchise owner is cheap and stingy, cutting costs to maximize profit, understandable, BUT, what else do they cut on costs, so if a Subway Franchisee doesn't have to accept coupons, then do they even have to use the same quality of meat products for the sandwiches they make?, do they use a lower quality of meat and vegetables, than mainstream Subways? what about the Soda is it watered down more?
You are right cooperate needs to not promote and give coupons for subway unless all honor it cause if not false advertising upsets the costumer's
why is it in oak lawn and alsip illinois that subway stop taking coupons. I thought this was a franchise and should honor the name.. Subway sandwiches have gotten so expensive also. What happened to the 5 dollar footlong.. In Alsip illinois the bread is always stale.. Why print coupons if they are no good
This is at least partially a result of modern monetary theory. If the government wants more money, all it has to do is print it; no need to collect taxes to cover it. So we have more money chasing fewer products. This was tried in Weimar, Zimbabwe, and Venezuela. It never ends well.
Biden is a big proponent of this theory. Unfortunately, so was Trump.
Ok so i just found this and i do have some information. this is how rules, regulations, promotions and coupons work.
corporate hands down guide lines [rules, regulations] to franchises.
franchises are not owned by corporate and can add or remove rules to the list employees follow.
corporate tells franchises the prices of items they offer.
franchises can choose to raise or lower the price.
corporate gives out a list of promotions and coupons for franchises to do.
franchises can choose to do or not do the promotions or coupons.
customers must pay attention to the fine print reading "prices and partisipation may varry." this means that you might go to store #1 and they dont do promotion X but accept coupon X. the store #2, 2 blocks away, is doing promotion X but not taking coupon X. store #3, 10 blocks away, is not doing or accepting promotion and coupon X. store #4, 5 blocks away is doing both promotion and accepting coupon X.
each franchise is owned by a franchisee aka a single person who has permission to use the trademark of a company. Subway itself is the franchisor is giving them permission to use the name.
if you believe they are in error [the franchisee] in not accepting the coupons [cause there is proof they are accepting it] contact corporate about it.
Just went to 2 different subways in New Jersey and was told they do not accept the coupons. I know that each franchise is different but it is unfair to the consumers. We give them business, but now that everything is going up we look for bargains, they are not losing money. Just saying
I never found Subway food to be the best there is anyway. I had a coupon buy one foot long get one free. Accept it but they sent the coupons in the mail. That's very deceptive if you would have ordered the sandwich and had to walk out and they had to throw away two sandwiches. The price is very also. If this is the way Subway does business that I'm through with them.
NEVER going to a subway again. Placed an order for 3 footlongs and on pick up denied the coupon. I left subs and walked out!
Sending coupons weekly thru junk mails packages but not worth it. Not accepting coupons near by my hometown Oklahoma and near by cities. Stop going there now on.
Had a coupon for Subway went to the closest one by my house and wouldnt take my coupon bad business im done with Subway do not make coupons if most of your locations do not accept them.
I tried to use my coupons I had just gotten in the mail went 3 miles to go use one wasn't excepting from what I'm reading from others in wondering if there a subway anywhere excepting those coupons or is it a total scam makes no sense for coupons to be sent out you can not use
Went to Subway stood in line for 20 minutes to be told we are not accepting any coupons, why mail them out to consumers if we can’t use them. Politely turned around and walked out and this guy was coming in with coupon in hand I said they are not accepting any coupons. I went to another one same situation, they will not be getting my business you are not going to make me pay full price when I have coupon in hand.
My wife and I had the same experience in Charlotte, NC. Misleading and deceptive advertising.
