Booking done on 24April 2024 by Swiss Air. Booking code no: OJLIFQ
Business Class return fare for 2 Passengers namely Mr Subhash Madan age 81 yrs and Dr Ms Sunita Madan age 80 yrs. For travel DEL-ZRH-IAD on 01Aug 2024 and return IAD-ZRH-DEL on 25August 2024.
Due to disclosures by Corona vaccine maker AstraZeneca, deposing in UK Courts that their corona vaccine COVISHIELD vaccinated people are at risk of side effects ie thrombosis now. This is particularly alarming for older people in the 80s, we had got vaccinated by COVISHIELD in April 2021(copy of vaccination certificate sent to swiss air).
This life threat to super old persons in such long journey is a clear "Force Majeure" condition warranting cancellation with full refund.
Therefore booking was cancelled by me 01May 2024 (within one week of making the booking when travel was due on 01Aug 2024). and swiss air has been requested for full refund on account of above unprecedented situation for life safety of old passengers in 80s.
In interim stock reply received that ticket is nonrefundable is unfortunate and unexpected. Swiss air at management level has to examine this matter and grant full refund. Particularly when we have apprised them that we have been frequent travellers to US by swiss air only and last two visits were in 2018 and in 2019 both by swiss air business class.
Claimed loss: On account of Force Majeure conition, Full refund of the payment of Rs 609,384 made to swiss air is required.
Desired outcome: Immediate refund of Rs 609,384 by swiss air.

Try reaching out to Swiss Air's customer service again, but this time, ask to speak directly to a supervisor or someone higher up in management. Emphasize the health risks and the loyalty you've shown as frequent travelers. If that doesn't work, consider contacting your credit card company to see if they can help dispute the charge. Also, sharing your story on social media and tagging Swiss Air can sometimes get their attention faster. Good luck!
