2018, System Pavers knowingly installed pavers on CLAY. In researching, I found it's not recommended installing pavers on clay soil without being properly stabilized with a mineral such as "Lime" to withstand weather changes. It's a lot of work and time consuming. The 8"of sand used on our project wasn't adequate, allowing water to reach the soil causing the problems we've endured. Within 3.5 yrs into our 25yr Warranty, they'd repaired our patio several times, including redoing most of the project 2x. The soil goes from wet - squishy to Dry - rocks. The problems are with leveling, hills slowly appearing, water not able to reach the drains, pavers moving, boarders falling off, etc. Turns out, their shoddy workmanship is their worst enemy, do it right the 1st time will be cheaper in the long run. In order to get out of repairs, I've been told so many times,"it's ok, the pavers will absorb the water "(not good for Clay soil) & it needs to be graded this way so the water can drain", (photos & videos available) I was also told by the Project Manager, they weren't responsible for settling. I didn't fall for their excuses. After the initial project was completed, I thought this was odd, I was told we needed to redirect our sprinklers so the water wouldn't hit the pavers & not to spray them off, it'll take away the sand between the pavers. This should've been a warning, working with them would be a disaster. Conveniently, the day the pavers were to be laid, the Project Manager told me, if I didn't sign a waiver allowing them to cancel their 25yr Warranty, "they wouldn't lay a single paver". I was between a rock & a hard place, I reluctantly signed. This document should've been added with Contract to sign, giving us the option to back out, which we would've. During their last visit, I was verbally, not in writing, advised my warranty was being cancelled because of the soil issues we've been having (their faulty workmanship) & they're allowed to do so because the I signed the "convenient" waiver. From the beginning of working with System Pavers, we haven't received any documents I've signed, including our Contract. I've requested them 2x via, answering machine & Receptionist which I haven't heard back.
I'm up in the air with what I'd want from them. Being reminded by other posters, System Pavers doesn't keep their word, surprisingly, even knowing, the world could know they're not trustworthy & do lack luster workmanship. They don't like refunding money, maybe a civil action would work.
Desired outcome: I'm willing to talk with them to see if we could make an agreement they'd be able to stick to & beneficial to both parties.
