Unable to get into the app
in August 2023 I paid for a year's subscription $69.99. Now I can't get into the app. When I access the Help section, it gives me a list of items but none address not being able to get into the app. This is the second time this has happened ! To solve it last time I contacted my credit card company who removed the charge. I paid again and now the same problem--not able to get into the app.
Customer since 2014
I have had TAPEACALL since 2014. I have used it for very very important calls that I go back and play on a regular basis. I’ve never had any problem accessing any of my recordings until just a few months ago. After contacting customer support and waiting a month for a response, they tell me that I should’ve downloaded the recordings if I wanted to keep them. They informed me that it’s in their disclosures. Well that must be something new because I’ve been accessing them for almost a decade. It would’ve been nice to get a warning before they erase all my recordings which were all I had of my child that is no longer with us.
Staff reporter (10+ years)
I share my job for insight. I’ve been a staff reporter for a decade; I’ve been using this app for three years now.
I must have well over 500 interviews on this app. I’ve opted to leave a review because this app needs three features.
No. 1, it needs a bookmark feature. As it stands now, you can only rewind or fast forward in 15 second intervals. I want the option to bookmark multiple points of an interview, which would be on par to every voice recorder ever made.
No. 2, it needs an option to change the rewind/FF intervals. Ideally, in 5 second intervals up to 1 minute.
No. 3, more options to slow down audio. Some people talk *reallyfast and as it stands, the current options are sometimes too fast or too slow. Old school voice recorders offer this feature, too.
I’ve expressed this to the developers for years. They won’t implement them, despite journalists being a large portion of their audience.
Overall, this is a good, reliable app. Sharing audio is crazy easy; it’s *reliablewhich is critical. However, if I found a rival that offered the features outlined above, I’d switch and wouldn’t flinch if it resulted in paying more.
If you want your phone to mess up, get this!
So I had this app on my iPhone for less than a week. Why you may ask? Because within a couple of days my phone started doing weird things like...
I Reset my data counter every month at 11:00 pm the night of the 1st per alarm. So on Oct 12th it said I had used up 2.9 GB. Turned data off then back on and it said suddenly that I had only used 816MB even though I never hit reset until the 1st of the month. Called phone co and they said I had used 3.9 GB.
Also, the phone was freezing up on me a lot. It froze in the settings, on reading some articles, etc. I have NEVER gone on questionable websites or downloaded things I’m not supposed to.
Then when I did a hard reset and turned it back on it showed the white Apple screen then goes black for a cpl seconds and then shows the white Apple screen again.
I checked my email and it wouldn’t stop saying it’s checking my mail even after the LTE stopped spinning.
ALL of these issues went away when I simply deleted this app! You should be doing a better job of checking these apps #Apple #AppStore. Creepy!
Btw, the print is larger because I noted all these issues so I can warn my thousands of followers. Yeesh!
Stalkers Beware!
Best recording app out there. When I was being stalked, threatened and harassed by phone, I was elated when I found Tape A Call. I told the stalker he was being recorded, turned on the beep (signaling call is being recorded), but he was so psychotic he didn't care. In fact he told me no one would believe me because anyone can create fake recordings. The judge sided with me since I did follow the law in recording him.
3 yrs have passed since a warrant & Peace Order was obtained, and he started calling again bc another girl is taking him to court for stalking. He claims I urged her but I don't even know her and she lives faraway. So before I blocked his new number, I tried to get as much info as I could (like is he in town with a gun?). I told him to hold on, that I was working and launched Tape a Call. I feel safe and he's blocked.
So anyone with a stalker, an abusive ex, or if you have a feeling the call is sketchy, ask them to hold on (mute), add call conference, call Tape A Call, merge the calls and continue the conversation. The beep required by law in some states is loud but no one to date has asked me what it is. I love you Tape A Call for my peace of mind!
At Least It Records Calls
The app started out fantastic and was well laid-out. It slowly progressed, however, into something virtually unrecognizable. It is now more confusing and difficult to use despite them being called UPdates. But the worst feature of all… the thing that got me in a lot of trouble… is the fact that a beep plays (something they EXCLUSIVELY left out of previous versions which was my main reason for using the app) during every phone call you record. Now everyone knows you’re recording them. I cannot stress this enough and allow me to repeat and rephrase: EVERYONE YOU RECORD WILL POTENTIALLY KNOW YOU ARE DOING SO. USE THIS APP AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Also note that the developers may say this is in keeping with laws. Well, in “single party” states in the United States only one party to the call needs to know it’s being recorded (which means you OR the other person). Only in certain states are BOTH parties required to know and this discretion should be left up to the user. We do not need the developer or Apple to hold our hands and make sure we obey the law. We obey or break the law as we wish and suffer the consequences as they may come on our own terms—or that’s how it should be anyway.
update: cancelled
I’ve cancelled my subscription, service isn’t reliable and neither is support. App no longer displays any calls from last 1.5 months, no idea where they are and I’m just glad they aren’t something I’ll need later.
———-
earlier review: Great... when it works...
This definitely saves time if you’re on a daily deadline, but the inconsistency has forever hurt my trust. There’s been times where the recording doesn’t appear for hours, or the transcription function (for a 14 minute call) will still balloon-ball-stall days later. What this means is I still need to take notes (a good practice anyway) and even when it works I need to go back to transcribe particular moments where the transcript phrasing is noticeably awkward.
With some speakers the transcription will work like a charm, immediately giving a nearly accurate transcript so you can scan the convo to pinpoint good quotes. But then again you can also do this with good ole pen and paper.
At the same cost as Spotify for the transcription function alone, I’m not entirely sold on this. It still beats the YouTube caption upload method by a mile, the file sharing is seamless, and customer service is relatively responsive. Looking forward to improvements.
Update: more seamless
Great app with mediocre design and marketing behind it. It just works in the easy way it should. I don't think I've ever lost audio.
Update
This app is seriously impressive. It's really cool to see I have various recordings from my friends and family, interesting interviews, etc, slowly little by little piling up. It just seems like most vertically aligned products like this get swallowed up and die from lack of Dev support but nope; that's not what is happening here. Product is faster, more consistent, and more clearly marketed than before.
My only concern is about the low pricing and unlimited recording. This is almost surely because the average user probably uses very few Minutes, subsidizing folks who log hours a week (not me); it's just this app is so good I feel like eventually people start using it again and again and I do hope the revenue plan can accommodate that so there won't be any major hitches with scaling, particularly security, Loss of data, etc. I guess I'm saying that most recording companies try to charge so much money for audio storage that the price point on this is frighteningly low.
But this low price does not seem to be on account or short term investor funding floating the thing, so probably it's sustainable?
Anyway, love this company for doing this thing right.
My review on this product
hello everyone I am a journalist I have my own podcast where I interview many martial arts celebrities it is actually my outlet to the world as well because I am disabled and I do not get out as much as I should when I first bought this app a few years ago it was working tremendously the reason I have given it a bad rating there is something you need to be aware of since last year there was an update for this application ever since that update the recordings quit going to drop box and Google Drive which makes things more difficult also during the download process my phone started crashing horribly which makes the process even longer and worse I am still on iPhone 3G S the company has told me many times that the issue will be fixed that they have a update that can fix this issue but one thing puzzles me they tell me that Apple is declining their update my question is how are they releasing other updates for the app and because of my work on my show I have been inducted into the USA martial arts Hall of Fame which in turns means I could have had a bunch of shows/interviews set up but instead I had to turn them away because of this glitch and it makes me look very unprofessional until this issue is resolved I cannot recommend this app to anyone or anyone interested in doing interviews for a podcast I sure hope that they take the time to fix things very unsatisfied customer
Disappointed
I purchased this app yesterday and was truly excited to try it out for an important interview that I needed to record. However, it was quite disappointing. I tested the app twice before using it and things went fine. I then conducted the 35 minute interview and noticed that the file was processing. The files have said "Processing" for over hours. This is upsetting because I need to transcribe the interview and now I can't. I attempted to reach tech support but they are only available Monday through Friday! Beware of this app especially if you need to record a conversation that is over 10 minutes. As I said, my 35 minute recording was split into two files and both still say "processing" well over 24 hrs later.
I'm don't usually write a review, even when disappointed, but I felt obligated to this time. And I must admit that it is almost impossible to submit a negative review. This will be my 4th attempt and each time it says that the nickname that I am using is taken and instead of allowing me to enter a new one, it exits, erases what I've typed, and says try again later. I'm certain if I was giving 5 stars it would be accepted!
Also, from the app itself on the phone, you only have two options to rate this and they are: 1) Love this app and 2) I will decide later. There are no other options! That makes me believe that the company is blocking or at least making it difficult to submit negative but honest reviews.
Beware!
A TOTAL LIFESAVER & WORTH EVERY PENNY‼️
I’ve been a customer of “TapeACallPro” for 2-3 years now. I know most of us would like to think most people are good and honest, that’s not always the case.
Fortunately, because I have been able to rely on this app to document the details on my calls, it has saved me from from having to take legal action and fight a situation that would otherwise be my word against theirs.
When people discover you have them recorded saying one thing while they are trying to do another, it leaves very little room for deception. It’s pretty hard to deny your own voice making promises and assurances to others...
On occasion, when you use TapeACall to record a lengthy conversation, there is often a short processing time from the moment you hang up till the recording is actually displayed but it always shows up.
A few day ago (for the first time ever) A very important phone call I needed to document did not show up until hours later instead of minutes and when it did show up, it wouldn’t play. I was in a total panic worried that it was lost but I reached out to TapeACall’s website and left a quick message/request on their Ai chat system and was pleasantly surprised to find they retrieved my lost recording within 24 hours and I could not be happier!
I LOVE ❤️ LOVE ❤️LOVE ❤️ TAPE-A-CALL‼️
It’s very affordable, easy to use and most importantly, RELIABLE‼️I highly recommend it!
PS. I am NOT an affiliate of any kind and this review was not solicited in any way.
I decided to write this review in response to the amazing service I just received.
Review
Definitely one of the better ones out there. The calls are played back crisply, and data is downloaded to your phone immediately.
There is a slight learning curve however... you have to remember to
1) Hit record AFTER the other party answers the call... it will not work if you hit record while you are ringing the other party and before they actually answer the call.
2) After the other party answers, then you hit "Record". At that point, there will be a shirt 30 seconds or so mute, where you and the other party will not be able to hear eachother, as your phone will engage in a conference call and the call must be established to the recording server first. Once the conference call is connected to the server, it is at this point that the "Merge Calls" option will become a functional
option, and you have to then REMEMBER to hit "Merge Calls". After you hit merge calls, the recording begins.
If you don't hit "Merge Calls", there will be no recording.
If you can remember these two steps and perform them in that order, you should be fine. It did take a little trial and error at first.
I have run into a few instances in the past where a malfunction has occurred, but have not had any problems since the new versions were released.
Overall, excellent product. It would be nice if there were a way however to just record locally to the persons phone, instead of having to make a conference call to a remote server. This would be a perfect solution.
Nevertheless, I would recommend this to others who need to casually record calls to remember things, etc.
So far so good.
Great app, but
Once you get the hang of using this app, it really does work great. When you hit the record call button, it does take about 5secs to hear the beep, and then another 10secs to display the merge call button. So 15secs total. I have Verizon.
I've used other recording apps, and the sound quality on this app is really great. Loud and clear. The other ones I've used sounded totally muffled, and honestly not worth listening to again.
The only reason why I gave this app only 4/5 stars, is because there's no way to record when you're ANTICIPATING an incoming call. You can only record AFTER you've answered your phone, OR preparing to make an outgoing call. This is kind of a problem for me. I tried calling the tape a call line, before a scheduled phone call so I'd have everything set up. I hit record, and waited for my phone to ring. When the other call came in, I answered the call without hanging up on the tape a call line. I waited several minutes and the "merge call" button NEVER lit up. I even tried swapping the call out and seeing if the "merge call" button appeared from the other line (tape a call line). No such luck. Unfortunately the call was never recorded. I've tinkered with this several times and the app just will not allow you to do it.
The whole "record an incoming call" thing was a misunderstanding on my end. Apparently the call has to be currently active and then you're able to record. I was really hoping for an app that could begin the recording before it took place, seeing as I do many appointments.
Either way, the app does work well. Just wish that there was a way I could tape a call, before it started!
30% Success Rate for Me
Barely works with Verizon or Sprint phones!
I've been told by the developers that my issue is due to a bug in the iPhone for Verizon and Sprint. I find that to be a complete cop out. They also fail to mention this anywhere on their page in the app store. Pretty shady to not warn customers of a bug that affects 2/3 of iPhone carriers and almost completely inhibits the use of the app. Developers should know their hardware and work with it. If they aren't able to then they shouldn't develop for that system. But I digress...
At least one of these reviews state "if its not working then your forgetting to merge the call". Well what would you like me to do when I sit for 5 minutes and wait but the merge call button never becomes enabled? It just stays greyed out.
Out of the 10 attempts I've made to use this app, only three of them were successful. During those time it took anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute and 30 seconds for the "merge call" option to be available. The other 7 times I waited 5 minutes if not longer and it never became available.
If you have Sprint or Verizon, before you download this app, I'd strongly suggest you ask yourself... "Is the person on the other line going to wait in up to a minute and half of silence without disconnecting?" Perhaps if they know and are okay with waiting that time to record the conversation. I'd venture to say though that more often than not this is not the case.
Great idea, but clearly there are bugs still to work out. Enough of them that I would not say this app is ready for public use. Don't waste your money. Wait for an update at least and see if the bugs are fixed.
Failure to Record
I recently recorded an interview with the Chief Science Officer of our company who travels a lot and is hardly in a convenient location for interviews. I thought Tape A Call Pro would serve as an answer to our prayers to get this interview—and then podcast for a radio show—completed with good audio quality. I watched and followed the tutorials on recording for both incoming and outgoing calls. I tested the app. on several people with different phones to see if this made a difference beforehand—this included outgoing and incoming tests. I listened to the sound quality. Our 25 minute recording of awesome quality and perfected, scripted questions did not save. It totally inconvenienced me, my department, and the Chief Science Officer. I was obviously panicking and sending a support ticket to Tape A Call’s website, but there’s no accessible or visible way of contacting them. I had to go back and forth with a chat bot for several minutes before sending in a ticket that stated I would hear back within 24 hours. I wanted to wait and hear back before telling my department I had to record our Chief Science Officer for a second time first. Its been over 24 hours and I have yet to hear back! The technology failed and I highly recommend using more than one recorder for backup with this app!
Upon viewing the FAQs (the only link available on the app’s. Contact us page) I read that someone else had this problem. The response from Tape A Call was that their carrier did not support conference calls. My carrier supports conference calls, so that’s not the issue either. Not sure what to expect or say about this, but it failed and inconvenienced me.
Don’t change your number
If you change your number you have to buy a new subscription even if you current subscription hasn’t expired. Or give you email, new, and old number and wait 48 hours for customer service to transfer you private recordings. Why? You also can’t download your recordings. I can’t find my recordings in the app. This isn’t user friendly or very private.
Edit
I made a request to change my number and I received this reply today on the 27th more than four days later. “ If you changed your phone number, and you'd like to update it with TapeACall, I'll need you to provide proof that the original phone number and the new phone number are both yours (this can be done by sending a picture of a recent phone bill from both the old and new number - the picture must have the phone number and your name in it), and then I can update the account to the new phone number so that you'll have access to all those old recordings on your new phone.
Don't worry - your recordings are safe. Your TapeACall account is tied to your phone number. The recordings themselves are stored on our server, but they're tied to that phone number, which is why you're not able to access them from your new phone number simply by downloading the app.”
I have a prepaid phone. I don’t have a bill. They say on the app this transfer will take 48hours. The app asks for your email and new number and old number and now they add additional requirements and hold your recordings hostage
Edit
It’s been months and now after jumping through their hoops there are more hoops. They gave my information to OneTrust and API. I have creat and an account to get a password to review their reply. They just refuse to delete my account.
Great app; works exactly as advertised!
Great app; works exactly as advertised! I've been using it for my business calls in case I need to go back and verify EXACTLY what was said. No reason to try all the others (I tried four or five other similar apps that all either didn't work, or we're not dependable/stable like this App) like I did; GET THIS APP!
Since I began using it about one year ago (possibly even more), the App Designers have been CONSTANTLY ADDING IMPROVEMENTS to the EASE OF USE & FLEXIBILITY, in terms of the way it's possible to share/backup your recordings. I honestly didn't think there was that much room for improvement, but I continue to be VERY pleasantly surprised by the level of 'inter-app cooperation'. Just for example, you can send/share/save/backup to Dropbox, Evernote, Google Drive, your computer, and you can even email somebody multiple links or a single link to 'Tape-A-Call's' website; as opposed to the many other 'similar Apps' where you would have to send the actual Audio File (usually fairly large files), (& probably some I don't even remember!) etc., etc.. It also allows you to share via FaceBook, Twitter, & more. Suffice it to say, the Developers are always adding NEW features, & finding new ways to "ADD VALUE" to their already well thought out app.
Not only is it easy for you to go back and listen to an important conversation that you recorded, but you have SOOOOO MANY*** options as to how to SHARE the recordings with others, and/or store your recordings, if that is something that you would like to do.
To reiterate; it's truly an incredibly useful app, that gives you a way to share, store, and basically make it work for pretty much any use that you can imagine!
FIVE STARS!
Seamless, Turnkey & Simple to use
The 'tutorial' is unexpected; though, greatly appreciated from the moment you 'open' the application for the first time. Having the ability to either SIMPLY 'Label' or SIMPLY 'Delete' each recording, which is already well documented listing the date, time of the recorded call along with the length of the recording, is seamless. Just by swiping your finger from right to left, which then provides the 'Labeling' opportunity or 'Delete' recording opportunity.
I am NOT 'Tech Savvy' whatsoever; in fact, I fear most applications after reading the reviews. This application was literally just as easy to use the first time as the description of the application represented. If you follow the simple steps, it is simple. The fact that you 'merge' the call, before recording will occur, is actually comforting for me and quite simple to do. I am very appreciative of the direction, tutorial and appropriate representation, in which this application provides. They did NOT try and 'over-sale' their product; instead, I am enjoying all the perks and 'Gems' I find this application is able to do each time I use it, it seem. Great Job all of you 'Silicon Valley' geniuses, this is a much needed application, especially in today's business world, where 'one word' stated could be taken as objective 'fact' or 'advise' & potentially being misinterpreted by the recipient or worse, maliciously misrepresented for selfish gain at the expense of those, who do not have larceny in their hearts. Being an honest, ethical and transparent businessman; more-so than most in this world, can easily be mistaken for weakness. This application provides myself & executive team the safety & peace of mind we would all like to experience, not to mention removing the 'weakness' that may be perceived by some, and revealing wisdom, courage and strength through objective & legal resources such as this application provides. I Hope You Find Solace and Peace of Mind as My organization has with your application. Remember; when on any phone call or even meeting, you should always act as if you are being recorded. So; there's my feedback, I'm looking forward to reviewing 'other's' feedback as well in the near future. RnR Friend! Hope this Helped some
No tech support
They have unresponsive tech support. I emailed their support team AND reached out on Twitter. I received responses from both saying “We’re behind. We put a ticket in for you and will get back to you with an update.” Instead, I checked in every week for a month and got the same answer: “Sorry. We are behind. We’ll get back to you.” Each time. Then I received a survey asking me to rate their support, which we all know means they closed my case.
Taping a call is something people do for important reasons; no one simply records calls. So when they’re lost or there’s a problem, an app like this needs a solid, responsive, robust tech support team. It’s not a contacts or birthday app, for example, where you can replace the information. It’s a recorded call so if the app scrambles the recording, the developer needs to be able to assist. I have lost confidence in this app because paying $10/year isn’t bad but if there’s no support for glitches, I have to find another platform. BTW, 99% of my calls are under 20 mins. One day I had a call I recorded that was an hour and twenty minutes, a VERY important call where a potential/new client spent over an hour explaining to me what they needed from my consulting firm and services they wanted me to develop a proposal for their review. I was going on vacation two days later, knew I wouldn’t remember all the details after a 2-week time away from work, so I recorded it to listen to when I returned. I didn’t take notes because the call was recording, or so I thought, and I planned to return, transcribe the call, and use the transcript to read, dissect and create a very precise proposal to land new business. Two weeks later I went to listen and realized there was interference in the recording that wasn't there during the call. I immediately reached out to TapeACall on the 17th day of the month. Not once did they write back to let me know what they tried or what the status is of my requested tech support assistance. Instead, I kept emailing and using their Twitter account because they have no phone number. Long story short: Today is the 12th of the following month, and I still haven’t heard a single update. I called my potential client to ask follow up questions based on what I could remember and went from there but I have no confidence in this company/app/developer now and at the top of my To Do list today is finding an alternative.
Could be a 10-Star app on a scale of 1 to 5 but
It’s a pretty good app for what it’s supposed to do. But i have 3 major issues with it that ruin the entire experience:
1 - You can’t merge recordings until a few seconds after someone picks up the call you are making, so you always miss the beginning of each conversation. And with this, when you press “merge” it takes a second or 2 to complete, and mutes out all the sound for that duration, which the person on the other line always notices/recognizes. And it often prompts them to again say, “hello”, or ask “are you there”?, or “can you hear me”? Almost all my recordings begin with this. So if you could merge the calls immediately as soon as you dial the number and hear the phone ringing, you would be able to begin the recording before the other person picks up, and avoid having to deal with that. Also of course, you would capture the entire conversation from the beginning.
2 - The Customer Service is amongst some of the worst I’ve ever experienced with anything in my entire life. They have no phone number for support, and respond to email inquiries at best after a couple of days. And even when they do, if you immediately reply to their response because it still leaves information to be desired, they still won’t respond again for another day / several days. I have literally gotten email replies from them after a customer support inquiry I had submitted days earlier, and replied back within 3 minutes and again did not get a reply for multiple days! Its a PHONE CALL RECORDER app, and yet THEY DON’T HAVE A PHONE?!?!
So if you’re looking for an app that will allow you to be able to record your calls, but also have access to some sort of customer support when needed, definitely do not even consider this one.
3 - I have hundreds of stored recordings which I always title so I can reference them quickly & easily when I need to. However, as a result I have repeatedly written in to request that they put a search bar on the stored recordings page, so you can search for words in those titles, and pull up the specific recording you are looking for quickly. As it is now you instead have to scroll through literally hundreds of them, one by one, trying to spot it. This is a very simple feature to add. But in classic Tape-A-Call fashion, they have of course never even so much as responded, let alone implemented the feature.
With these features and even halfway decent customer service it would be beyond a 5-star app.

Asking for a refund
I subscribed TapeACall on 23 Aug 2023 in order to have a trial of this product on my iPhone. Based on the subscription terms of this product, a refund for the subscription fee will be made by the company within 7 days if such subscription is cancelled. And I cancelled this subscription on 28 Aug 2023 after the trial. However, no refund has been made. Later on, I contacted the support team of this company on the form provided on their website (https://www.tapeacall.com/help) on both 13 Sep and 24 Sep for the reason. However, no reply has ever been received even nearly 5 months have elapsed.

This complaint was filed on 22 Jan but there has still been no reply from TapeACall even that nearly 1 month has elapsed. Please help.
Beware
The call taping works fine but the company also deliberately defrauds its customers. I bought the Pro upsell and realized it did not have the feature I expected. I immediately contacted the company and politely asked for a refund. They directed me to the App Store. The App Store directed me back to the company, which refused to give me a refund. I hate supporting a company that treats its customers so poorly even if their product is decent. I hope you will look to take your business elsewhere!

Privacy Policy is AWFUL
Even if all the other reviews are hi-star rating: Before plunking down $9.99 It would have been wise toi read the privacy policy of this company/app. All your calls are completed recorded and kept on their servers for, I believe, one year. If the company is acquired by another then your privacy policy changes to the new company's.
That is not privacy. Then again, you have none now. Thank you George Orwell.
Paid for it and instantly removed from iPhone. Would like to rmove app from my iCloud library too.

Garbage you can't rely on them
I buy over two years ago I case I will need it one day, one day I started to get blackmail calls to my phone I was going to finally use it. This garbage of app and service says the following error "the response from API could not be JSON decoded "
And that's it I couldn't use it in the unique moment I need it. Developer should understand that here are people who would need it not to play but to use in very difficult situations.
Any way I paid the pro version and now I feel ripped not only by the blackmail calls.

Read before buying
Ok so I needed this app because someone was threatening me. This was the best way to be safe is to record their threats. However when I tried to record the person the app kept making benign sounds and the person knew it was recording and hung up,! It never shows that these sounds are on and can’t turn them off? Only after u buy? What a loss of money, ? I don’t understand I really had hope but this only made it worse, an update where the app does not make any sounds during the call on the person responsibility plz? :/

Only worked for 7 minutes
The reviews looked good so bought the product. The instructions were not clear that the service dials our to a long distance phone number first before dialing the intended number. But got past that. Then used it to record an interview. After 7 minutes the call failed. So restated the service and it lasted about 2 minutes and failed. Gave it one more try and it failed after 30 seconds. So gave up. My cell service was good so that was not the problem. Was quite disappointed. Seemed like a great product but did not work for me.

Started out well but having issues with dropped calls
As a journalist, I used to find this app very useful in recording interviews (obviously with the party’s consent) to transcribe later. Over the past month I’ve continued to have issues with this app dropping my calls. When I use the app during an interview, sometimes the audio on my end will cut out. The app keeps recording the interviewee, but I cant hear anything. I have to hang up and call again. This happened twice over one interview today.
I’m switching to a more traditional recorder so I wont have these issues in the future.

Use to love this app
I have used this app for years and loved it. Today I needed to make a call and use it and I could not get it to work. Tried to paste in the number I needed to call, but it wouldn’t allow me to paste. The number. And the app would not allow me to choose the number in my contact that I wanted to call. That contact had two numbers, and the app defaults to the first number, with no option to choose the other number. I tried having the person call me, couldn’t get it to work that way either.
Very disappointed in the new interface. It’s confusing.

Recording unavailable but no # Change?
I have been using this app happily for close to 2 years. Since a coupe of months ago, I have not been able to record a call! I get the annoying “Recording unavailable” message when I try to set up a recording. Website says it’s because their system “does not recognize my number” however, my number is the same as always. How can I see the number they are getting to try to fix it? Why has this changed? No big options in website to get support.
When the app worked, it worked perfectly. It’s a shame I am now wasting my subscription! Someone please help!

Request for refund
Clever way to record phone calls on iphone. Despite that I am using the US app store, I live in South Korea and there is no local access number for South Korea. I only knew about this after purchasing the $10 app and then again purchasing the $19 per tear subscription. Since I can’t do anything with this app, unless I am willing to have my recordings via international calls all the time, $30 for an app purchase is a lot of money for nothing. It would be most appreciated if you could refund my purchase or at least provide me with guidelines to make it work in South Korea.

USELESS
Don't know who writes these 5 start reviews but maybe they got paid by the developers? I paid for the pro version. Instructions indicate recording starts when you merge calls UNTRUE! recording DOESNT stray until some random place about 30 seconds into the recording when you see the CONFERENCE text illuminate. There is nothing about this "conference" activation in instructions. It's not even mentioned. I've tested it now 4 times and each time there is 30-60 seconds of dead silence in which I "thought" I was re riding when in fact it wasn't! Annoying and exhausting to use. I want my 10 bucks back.

Lost recordings when phone number changed
I’ve used this app for 2 years but recently my phone number changed and I was logged out of the app. The app only gives the option to log you in with a phone number and verification code. When I enter in the old number I can not log in as I can’t retrieve the verification code. This is very disappointing as when I log in with my new number that can receive the verification code, ALL of my recordings are gone. I’ve reached out to the help line and I really hope the developer can address this issue. I’m also concerned that whoever has my old number will be able to hear my private recordings which is scary.

Security Flaw - Your recordings are at risk
Great app but you are putting your recordings at risk of being shared/stolen by hackers. A public website link is generated by this app that contains each recording to facilitate sharing. However, anyone with the link can access the recording without any password. One would have to guess the link to access but this feels like a major security hazard as someone could write an algorithm to run through all the different link combinations and scrape down the recordings. Particularly with an app like this where the recordings are more likely to be highly sensitive, this obvious oversight on security is unacceptable and must be addressed by the developer immediately.

Does not work with all phone systems
When I first got this (2.5 years ago) it was great, but for some reason whenever I try to record customer service calls it does not work the majority of the time. For some reason the other end cannot hear me all the time and I have to disconnect & call them back without recording. These are the calls that I want recorded most, you know? Things like bill disputes, plan changes and what have you.
I think it has something to do with their phone systems. They probably don’t allow three-way calls and since that’s what the engine of this application is, it does no good. The far end simply can’t hear me. I am going to try and get a refund because I just renewed my one year subscription so hopefully that will go smoothly. I’ll Report back either way.

Don't waste your money!
I did a lot of research on not just this app, but several others like it and drew the conclusion this was the better one. I intended on using this app for legal purposes with my ex wife. As I mentioned, I thoroughly read the instructions and did all the research I could. I paid the $10 for it, made a couple test calls and a couple of the calls I made had recorded while others did not. Any incoming calls would not record at all! One of the calls I made to my ex to have recorded, showed up on her Caller ID as CONFERENCE CALL, and she declined to speak with me because that seemed suspicious like someone else was on the line. In addition, you can use this app so many times and it'll tell you that you have to purchase more credits to continue using the app! What a rip off! Currently waiting for my refund...

Support
I’ve been paying for a yearly use of this app during a nasty divorce. I’ve had recordings over a span of three years, all of which are suddenly gone. I went to use the app yesterday and got a recorded message telling me to request an activation code and repurchase the app. My subscription doesn’t expire for s few weeks yet- so wth? I contacted their “support” where Kasper told me to delete and reinstall the app. Once I did, EVERYTHING was gone. Contacted support again, different person of course, and he told me to “restore purchases”- my subscription renewed( didn’t want to!), but nothing came back. He then told me to close the app twice and try again. When I did this, customer support was then conveniently unavailable. Here I sit freaking out because everything I had to protect myself from a perp is gone. Everything. I’m so mad and fed up. Ive only had s few problems in the last three years, but this one is HUGE and definitely a deal-breaker for me. ♀️

I paid for a yearly subscription and I can't even log into my account now. I have contacted them by email several times deleted the application and tried to reinstall it and the verification code never is provided for me to log in after several reattempts to have it resent to my device so that I can put the code in and log in.
