Target employee training

I shop often at the Target at Tanforan Mall in San Bruno, CA. Most of the cashiers are pleasant, making it a point to greet and thank customers. There are a few cashiers, however, every time I see them on duty, I avoid their lane. But, if I'm in a hurry and their line is short, I have to grit my teeth and go to their lane anyway. This Target has got to undertake employee continuing education because there is one cashier who has an awful behavior. She not only doesn't greet or thank customers, her attitude is one that makes customers think she's doing them a favor. And this isn't the half of it either. On the occasions I've run into her, she scrutinizes the items I'm buying, and then makes some nasty comment, such as today, when I was buying some tins of soup. She picked up on of the tins to scan the price, and then spent 30 seconds reading the nutrition facts label, and muttered "Too much sodium." Another time when Target had a donation campaign going on (customers could choose to donate to the charity while paying at the checkout), I ran into this same cashier, and she asked whether I would like to donate. I declined. Well, Target must have had an employee incentive going on, probably rewarding employees who got the most customers to donate, because this cashier kept begging me to donate, saying that she had high blood pressure, and couldn't pay her medical bills, etc., etc., etc. Doesn't this Target have a staff manager observing employee-customer interaction? If not, they'd better get on the ball and do so. This type of employee behavior is such a put-off.

Yeah, if you don't like the cashier based on past experience with them, then go to another checkout lane. I've been going to Target in Tanforan for the past few years now, I have experienced good and bad employees there, most of which I had a great experience with. If you're unfortunate to get an employee who treated you bad, then just ask to speak to one of the supervisors who's always on the floor with the cashiers.

The solution here is simple.
Get in another checkout lane.
I know, I know, you shouldn't have to put up with the behavior you described, but the simple truth is Target, like Walmart, Kmart, and well most any retail establishment can not afford to hire MBAs to man the checkouts. In some areas they are lucky to get high school grads.
You could try complaining to the store manager, I doubt it will make much difference.

Target abuse

My newest complaint against Target is putting people into positions they do not deserve. Especially electronics where things turn up missing all the time. Examples. The last two working that department. A Felon and an alcoholic kid. Of course the felon made off with stuff. That was to be expected. The kid well some stuff, big stuff came up missing. He's still there. But then did he steal the items?

Why would anyone put people who profile out as potential thieves into that department in particular? Stupid? Naive?
Or something entirely different...Looking for Fall Guys.

I used to work there and could get promoted. But the Old Hens Club that is running the place wouldn't promote me cause I was a man. I was promised a promotion when I did some LOD work but they lied.

They recently got another gal in there as Exec and she is messing up on everything. Jennifer is her name I think, or so my sources say. She has been losing business and employees right and left GOOD!

Do you see my website listed above. My cat ran across the key board and spelled it out..Weird. This is what it's suposed to say. http://hellstruth.blogspot.com/...No Yugh. But it fits. My cat knows better!

My newest installment has to do with the children running the Las Cruces, NM store into the ground. They have been harrassing all the older workers, that jeep the place going. They aren't bright enough to figure aout that for every upset employee you lose their business as well as the business of all their frinds and family.

Do how many years of incompetence and upsetting everyone is it that causes their good ship lollipop to sink...I don't know. But in the end 'the iceberg wins

Target job giveaway

I have worked for Target for 2 1/2 years. About a year ago, my mom passed away. I had to immediately leave for her funeral. While I was gone Target gave away my job and reasonable accommodation! When I came back I had nothing. They just wanted me to go home and I said no. I will not leave this store until you get me a job and get it now! However, the job they got me was not in line with my reasonable accommodation. They, Target, claim that it is/was. I know it is not. I am standing 70% of the time and my restriction is much lower than that. Target accepted this restriction when I was hired and now lied to me. I have turned them into the EEOC for disability discrimination. I would not advise anyone to work there. They are nothing but a dictatorship in a democracy or at least that is how they operate.

My husband & I tried to purchase a 12 bottle wine cooler today from Target. In our Sunday paper, the Target ad had a great price on a 12 bottle wine cooler. We went to the Target in our town and realized when we got home, the cooler was scratched and dented. My husband returned it and than drove to a Target in a nearby town (20 minutes car ride) and brought home wine cooler #2. It turned out this one had a huge dent in it. The box was perfect so my husband did not check the appliance before leaving the store. Our mistake! He drove back to the second store and talked with the store manager who was willing to give us a $3 credit for our trouble. We wasted 4 hours trying to make a purchase. Target needs to check their merchandise before putting it on on the shelf. The store manager should of been more helpful. Why should we have to check the merchandise that closely before we leave the store. I AM DONE SHOPPING AT TARGET. TARGET HAS LOST MY BUSINESS

Target.com advertised small computer for $199 online and said only available in stores. Website then directed me to the nearest store that had merchandise in stock. Went to store and was told they had none and did not have any at all that day. They then refused rain check and refused to let me know if and when more stock would arrive and told me that Target.com and Target stores had no connection to each other. The website purposely sends you to a store to buy something that they never had to begin with and then refuses to accept any responsibility. I took this complaint up with every person in that store and then with Target.com and then with target Corporation and no one at any level would resolve this issue and made the same claim of no connection of stores and website, thus admitting that this is a fraudulent way to drive customers into the store for merchandise that is not there, hoping they will then shop. I made it clear to everyone at every level of customer service at Target Corporation that after shopping there regularly for 45 years that I would never do so again. They did not care. Target used to have the best customer service of any business and now has none whatsoever. WalMart has won over my business from here on.

I bought a Christmas present at target which cost $150. I started shopping early in September and noticed that they have a 90 day return policy. I understand this so I am not requesting a refund just a store credit. I was told that they will do nothing. The item is unopened and they still sell the product. This is a horrible way to treat the consumer especially since they just opened a Target right across from my work.

To: Mr. Gregg Steinhafel
Target Corporate Office | Headquarters
1000 Nicollet Mall
Minneapolis, MN 55403

Greetings Mr. Steinhafel,

My name is Scooter and I frequently shop your Target stores throughout the year as it very convenient to my home and work. I’m employed in a large box retail store and understand how employees and policies exemplify customer service. I also understand how frustrating returns and exchanges are and can be. However, that last few times I’ve shopped your store I was highly disappointed and unsure if I will ever shop at another Target again.

The last couple times I’ve attempted to return or exchange a Target brand item I’m quickly faulted because I don’t have my receipt(s) and it’s been rocky from then on. From check out to the customer service desk I’ve experienced numerous problems that I just cannot let it go untold. When I’m first engaged at your customer service desk to make a return or exchange the person behind the counter coldly ask for my receipt then immediately scolds and advises me there is no way you are able to return or exchange your own Target Brand unopened product without a receipt. Clearly it is an unopened Target brand item so I’m being accused of stealing. I can assure you with bank statements that I’ve made plenty of purchases at your store and did not steal this product nor produce it in my bathroom.

This is by no means will be an exhaustive list of the poor customer service I’ve received. This attitude and policy is unacceptable and nobody should be treated in this manner. I hope that this is a last-time experience that I will never have to endure again. However, I feel compelled to make my complaint known if for no other reason than I do not wish to see anyone else go through an experience such as this. Please respond with how you have handled this issue and how I can be sure this will never happen to me again.

Sincerely,

Scooter

What is wrong with you? You acknowledge that you were aware of the 90 day return policy when you made the purchase, now you have the audacity to act like the injured party when you try to return something eleven months later? You acknowledge making the purchase in September. This is posted in August. ELEVEN MONTHS!

You give truly disabled persons a bad name. You don't say, but from your wording I'm betting you didn't inform the store of why you were going to miss work for your mom's funeral, you just no-showed, and I bet you were gone more than the two or three days a company usually allows for a parent's death, too. Am I right? It was a give-away when you said "I had to immediately leave for her funeral." Because both of my parents are dead so I KNOW how that goes, and the funeral never happens all that quickly. There is PLENTY of time to call your employer and say "Hey, my mom passed away and I have to go to XXXXX for the funeral. I'll be back by YYYYY date." I actually went to work one of the two days immediately after my dad died because his funeral wasn't until three days later. I called my boss the morning after, explained that my dad had died and I needed to make arrangements. We easily got the arrangements made that day, and I went to work the next day. I took off for the funeral and the next couple of days for bereavement, then I went back to work. My mom was in a different city, so I called my boss and let him know I'd be gone, then was gone for 4 days--one more than my company routinely provides--because I lived so far away. But had my employer not known where I was and why, I sure wouldn't expect them to hold my job, and they have no legal obligation to if you have not applied for and received leave under the "Family Medical Leave Act." You can't just not go to work, say "My mom died, " and magically get your job back. You were EXTREMELY lucky to get another job with them.

And BTW, every job is a dictatorship. Jobs are not democracies. None of them are. Grow up already.

Scooter, that it is a Target brand proves it came from a Target store. It doesn't prove the Target store was PAID for it--that is what a receipt proves. Target is very liberal with returns on items you purchased with a credit card, and will refund them without a receipt if you present the card you used for payment. I do it all the time. If you don't have a receipt and didn't pay with a card, you're SOL, and their posted policy says so. You seem to have done it a lot of times--aren't you aware by now that you need a receipt? Why keep returning things without one? Insanity is sometimes defined as doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Keep that in mind.

If you know you need a receipt why do you keep showing up without one? It is the ONLY proof that you purchased that product, where you purchased it, when you purchased it, and how you purchased it. All of these details (including how much you purchased it for) are required to execute a proper return. You are being silly. Do not blame others for your own carelessness. Save your receipt... always. They are allowing you the opportunity to return something, and you are refusing to follow their very simple guideline. You have no excuses here, and Target has done nothing wrong.

Target I will never shop at target again!

I WAS a Target customer for many years and was thrilled to create a Club Wedd Registry last year for my late September wedding. One of the items I had on the list was the Jade Moon 16-piece Dinnerware Set ($79.99). I requested and received three boxes of it. My husband and I bought our home in January and decided that the dinnerware didn't go with our Tuscany theme. We were so happy to see that Target had the perfect set instead, the Tuscan Sunflower Dinnerware Set.

We took the three boxes to their Hackettstown, NJ store. Our plan was to get a credit for the Jade Moon to use towards the purchase of the Tuscan Sunflower. The guest services representative printed out our registry. She told us that since it has been over 90 since our wedding date, we were not entitled to a credit but could do an exchange for something else in the store but it had to be from one specific aisle (dinnerware). Unfortunately, the Tuscan Sunflower Set is available online only. I told her I would place the order right then and there in the store and she said that would not be possible. We were appalled and left the store.

When I got home I called their customer service number of [protected]. I explained my problem to the representative, who I could hardly understand because of his heavy Indian accent. He found two of the orders because the gift givers purchased them online. His exact words were "you are stuck with them" because it was 90 days after the purchases were made. 90 days had passed before I even received them at my bridal shower! First the policy is 90 days after the wedding date, now it is 90 days after the purchase?

Being aware of their return policy of being able to return items without a receipt for $70 per year, we visited their Toms River, NJ location to return one box. We were prepared to "eat" the $9.99. We were told that because the price is over $70, it could not be returned! WHAT?

I will NEVER shop at Target again. Saying their return policy SUCKS is an understatement, especially for a registry!

Target just crazy

I always found it easier to save payment information with different creditors so that in in just a click or two my payment is made! However, NEVER do this with target. Once my payment information changed I went online to update my account number and make my payment. Not a good decisioin. Even though I filled out the forms that they provided, my new payment was still sent through my old account. As a result I then had $89 worth of fees including a late payment fee and returned check fee, not to mention my monthly payment. Even after calling severl times the representative was unable to both figure out my situation or help me change my payment information. I filled the forms out again and made another payment that also went through my old account. At this point my account was in such bad shape Target agreed to allow me to pay out my balance through a draft in which THEY selected the date. The date was the 21st of each month. I think GREAT.. they got me staright and my payments are being made! Nope. Although they decided my payment should come out on the 21st, a late payment is being charged to my account on the 20th of every month?!?! When will the cycle end. With all the fees my bill is unbelieveable! What can I do?

Target target does a lot of sales preventives for the customers

I wanted to purchase a wicker rocking chair at a Target store in the Cincinnati Market, they had the floor model that they would not sell, I checked all the other stores same thing none in stock. Store will not order one for you. You have to go to the website and find it. Here is where the problem arrives, the shipping charges for 100 pounds is $385.00 which cost more than the chairs. Are they insane? Their customer service sucks, they cannot adjust the shipping charges, will not order anything for you to go to the local store and when you call customer service you speak to someone who cannot speak English clearly. Shop Sears they are much better with servicing the needs of the customers. Target does a lot of sales preventives for the customers.

Wow you're stupid Kiball. If you are a disgruntled target employee then you know that Target does not sale their furniture display models due to safety and the fact that they do not own these pieces of furniture. It may have been something that was going to be discontinued and the display hasn't been taken down yet. Deal with it.

Target hiring practices

Target is the worst company in the universe. I worked for Target for 3 years. I started as a Team Leader which is an hourly position. I was promoted to an Executive Team Leader position which is a salaried management position. Eventually, I was told I was topped out because I did not have a college degree. I was told by my store manager that they loved my results, but without a degree I had gone as far as I was going to go. I left the company- working a 2 week notice. Two years later, I applied at Target. I could not even get an interview because I did not have a degree. I had excellent performance reviews, left in good standing, and had actually performed the job I was applying for- but oh...no degree...no interview. This company wants cookie-cutter fresh out of college kids who don't want to do physical work, but they fit the "image" Target wants to portray. I didn't have a degree when I was promoted, but I was told I was an exception because of my strong performance. In the end, Target is a technology forward company that I admired, but they are very single-minded about hiring. Getting a degree shows commitment, but so does years of experience. They sell themselves short with their single-minded pursuit of college educated candidates.

Target harasment

I went to target to buy some pepsi cola products in 12 packs sizes. I had about 15 twelve packs of sodas & some six packs of other sodas. I run a small business, so i usually shop at wal-mart, target and other big stores for business needs. So when i reached the counter to pay for them, the cashier who was newer and was nice, rang up all the items, and, I asked her if she could accept the california state issued sellers permit, in order to do the sale tax exempt. And since I had used it in the past at target very many times, I told her how she can use it, by pressing some keys on the register. she was doing it, AND then an employee of target named MYRON showed up at the register, and inquired what was this. She handed the permit to him.He looked at it from every angle possible, then said this is the copy of permit, you can not copy it, & said his parents had it, thats how he knows. And asked to bring the original, PLUS he said that California State does not allow you to keep the permit in your pocket and go shopping place to place. I argued that i should be able to copy it, But he took the permit to a seperate room to show it to someone, and came back after about 15 minutes, and refused to make the sale . At that moment there were about 20 to 25 people were there listning to all of this, he said some other words also. It was very bad & harasing experience. He was portraying me as if i was to get every thing without paying for it. It was hard to walk those four steps to exit the TARGET. I think they should teach all there employees that what customer service is called. And I would like to know that what the target company did to this complaint. Is he repriminded or did he got the promotion.

Retail places have the govt looking over them to ensure they Dot their I's and Cross their T's...if the forms are not on file correctly then they get in trouble after a audit. Different states have different rules. I suggest you go to the nearest chamber of commerce and request the laws of tax exempt from your state.

Then if you are correct, with form in hand...go to the mgr of that Target and provide you was correct. If you where wrong I suggest you go and apologize to the clerk at Target for doing their job, , ,

Target stay away

I've been reading about people getting hurt at Target and not getting their medical bills paid. I guess I'm not alone. I slipped on some Gel back in May of '08 and got injured at a Target Store in Norridge Illinois. I hired a lawyer who said he would get my medical bills taken care of, along with a small settlement for work time lost...etc.

However after dragging things out their insurance company (Sedgwick) didn't pay us a dime. I'm stuck with a several thousand dollar doctor's bill.

I'm the founder and part of an organization called "Citizens United Against Corporate Corruption." We need more members. Please contact my e-mail address if interested. We've already been contacting Target shareholders and asking them to sell out. But I think we also need to spread the word throughout the country with fliers and mass mailing to warn as many people as possible to stay away from Target.

Target in Matthews has an idiotic return policy. Before Christmas, I bought my husband a $178 Norelco shaver. The guy checking me out has some issues getting the item to scan but the receipt clearly states Norelco and $178. This was not the shaver that my husband wanted so he took it to the store to try and get one that he did want. The shaver did not scan so they would not credit the shaver. They offered store credit in that department only. They did not carry the shaver that he wanted. They wanted us to take a credit of $178 for shampoo? I was very disappointed, my husband was mad and we will be going to Wal-Mart from here on out. I guess Craigslisting the shaver is the only way to unload it.

Your organization sounds like a great beginning to put pressure on corporate America who behaves in an negligent manner. Going after Target shareholders is a beginning, but why not move your efforts up a notch? In my opinion, Sedgwick is in violation of Anti-Trust Law. You need to get involved with Congress, and there are Committee's and Sub-Committee's who might respond with an investigation with respect to Sedgwick. I hope this comment will bear fruit.

Target credit limit decrease

I just got a letter explaining that target is lowering my target visa credit limit to $56 (You read right $56)... The letter said it was based on information from experian credit bureau concerning a delinquent payment history and suggested that I get a copy. I proceeded to get a copy of all three major credit bureaus including experian. I have had the target visa for many years and have never been late with a payment and never gone over my credit limit... Which was $15, 500. My current balance is apx $10k. Additionally my entire credit history is perfect with no late payments and my score is in excess of 700+. After calling and asking for an explination they said it was based on delinquent information... So I explained that I have a copy of the above mentioned credit report and nothing shows delinquent and I asked for the specific information they are refering to... They don't have access to credit information and the letter must have been a misprint but they are working to correct the letter. Of course she followed up with "there is nothing she can do to restore the credit limit." I asked for a supervisor and she said his name was adam but he doens't take calls but I can write him a letter. She refused to give his last name saying it was confidential and she can't give it out... So I guess writting a letter to target bank addressed to adam is the way to get this problem resolved.

After years of loyal shopping with target and many years of flawless ontime payment history means nothing with target bank... I will be on a crusade to let everyone I can contact, in person, on the internet and by skywriter to be aware of how target treats its long term loyal customers. Fortunately, I am in a position to take my shopping and visa business elsewhere... But i'm going to make sure others don't do business with a company like target bank and get they visa credit cards elsewhere.

I had no idea Target was doing that. Now I'm worried. I had a similar experience with The Children's Place Card. I filed a complaint with the BBB, and of course got nowhere. They used the same "due to past delinquencies" excuse. Even though I had never made a late payment with them and even showed an $11 credit at the time they decided to close my account. Of course, the creditor reporting that they chose to close my account is very bad for my credit that I had been working on for years to restore (due to bad decisions of helping out "friends" by co-signing)! I had no luck in resolving this matter, but I am definitely NOT SHOPPING at THE CHILDREN'S PLACE ANYMORE! I would spend hundreds there for my kids' back-to-school and holiday shopping...NO MORE!
Thanks for alerting us about Target now, I will be more cautious with that card now..

Sorry kids, can't buy a house anytime soon due to all these stupid decisions made by these "bailed out" banks!

I've been experiencing the same thing for the past year and half. Mind you I haven't been reduced to $56, but if they keep lowering my limit every time I get $500 between me and the limit, I'll be there in no time.
As for contacting the CEO, I think you're delusional if that's going to help. They could give a rip!

I too have quit shopping at Target and will no longer use the card for anything. I'm not closing the account because then my 700+ credit score will go in the toilet. I also plan on telling everybody what Target is doing, to NEVER get a Target credit card, and shop anywhere but Target stores.

Target prejudice

My husband and I went to the Target store in West Sacramento, CA one Sunday morning to make a small purchase. When we got to the register, a woman was assisting a white gentleman in front of us. She was extremely courteous to him and at the end she wished him a good day. When it was our turn, she didn't greet us at all...not even a smile. The only time she spoke was to give us the total of our transaction. After I gave her the money, she gave me the bag and did NOT wish us a good day. There was another white gentleman behind us and we overheard her give him a very pleasant and elaborate greeting. Very disappointing.

EVERYONE NEEDS A JOB RIGHT! But I excpect to be treated with courtesy and dignity when I go into an establiment. I am not asking for much. Everyone there should be glad to see customers. It it were not for us customers they would not have a job. I would have reported the incident to the manager and the district manager. It is all about money with these guys.

I get treated except it's a black woman who gets special attention, with great customer service. I was in line getting nothing, not even a hello, that is why I don't shop at Target anymore.

Target bad customer service

I received a Polaroid Digital Picture frame for Christmas. Tried it. The device would not upload pictures from the computer (no USB function). Tried to return item in original package, with receipt, two weeks after purchase. I was told it had been "used" because I had turned it on. The person at the returns desk said the manager would not meet with me. I offered my business card, hoping to elicit the managers card in return. The manager refused to meet with me or provide his name. Instead, I was provided with a national customer service number. Each time I called, I was told the matter would be looked in to by a supervisor. Each supervisor told me the job of national Customer Service said their job is to back the store managers. Caveat Emptor!

I went to shop at Target. 2 associates told me that they can do price adjustment. They asked me to come back with the receipt. I went back with the receipt later on that day and one associate started to make the price adjustment, but she had problem to put full amount back to my CC and asked one manager to help. But the manager said to the associate that she cannot do the price adjustment. All the time that I spent drove back and forth to the store, waited in the store about 1 hour for the adjustment, at the end I been told NO. The manager refused to give me his name. The store location is Easton in MA. Very bad in customer service. I even tried to call [protected] and they gave me the same ### too. I would not complaint if they told me that they cannot do it at the first place. They made mistake, but they are not taking any responsibility. Not a good place to shop!

I ordered an item from Target's website. The shipping estimate was four days after the order date. That date passed and I got an email saying the shipment was delayed. The new estimated shipping date passed. Ten days after I had ordered the item, I contacted Target to ask what was going on. They told me the item was out of stock and I could just wait until if-when it became available again. They didn't bother to inform me on their own; I had to contact them and ASK what in the world was up. The service rep used very condescending and dismissive language in his email to me.

They gave me a crappy $3 discount on a future order as an "apology." I wrote back and told them to remove it from my account because I'll never shop at Target again. They removed the discount and then said they hope I'll shop at Target again. Yeah, right! Not only will I never buy from Target again, I'm telling as many other people as possible about this crappy experience.

I wrote a check at Target (2420 N Reserve St, Missoula, MT 59808, [protected]) on the 19th of June for $69.72. I gave it to the cashier; she ran it through the cash register- gave me a receipt- I left with my items and receipt- everything seemed to go smoothly. EXCEPT- the check was never presented to my bank account. When I was balancing my check book at the end of the month- I noticed that the Target check had not cleared- no transaction with that amount had been presented to my account. So I called the store- and of course was referred to various "customer service" 1 800 numbers. After spending upwards of 30 minutes explaining the story to several different ineffectual customer service representatives- I was told to call back in a few days and they would initiate "an investigation". When I called back- I was told that it was impossible to initiate an investigation because they don't have that capability. After several more phone calls over several more days- I was told that there was no record of my check in their system. All I had as proof of ever writing it was my duplicate check- as I had thrown out the receipt not thinking I would ever need it. After several time consuming and fruitless phone calls at the 1-800 level, I went down to the store asking to speak to a manager. I was told that the managers were unavailable and that there was nothing that could be done "at the store level" because so much time had passed. (Even though the "customer service" people were the ones that kept telling me to call back after a few days had passed- presumably waiting to see if the check would show up in the interim). At the store they were able to look up the receipt based on the information I gave them and it shows the amount, that I paid by check, and that it was authorized. I spoke with my bank and they recommended that I cancel the check and perhaps even change my bank account to a new account- as apparently it is possible to take a check (such as the one I wrote out) and "wash" it to reflect a new amount and new payee information. However- my bank charges a fee of $22 to cancel a check. I feel that Target should pay for that- however after several more phone calls and several more days- I have been informed that they will not pay, and have even been told that I should just "not worry" about it because I am coming out ahead having basically received $70 worth of "free" merchandise. I told them that I am happy to come to the store and pay them cash for the items if they will pay for my check to be cancelled- and was told that they "do not have that capability" and "besides it may have been your bank that lost it". Really? Don't you think if my bank lost it that Target would have some record of it in their system in some form or another? Anyway- if the only thing I was worried about was the $69.72 I wouldn't be ranting like a crazy person on this webpage. What concerns me is that now there is someone possibly in possession of my full name, address, phone number, driver's license, bank account number, and signature. Have they never heard of safeguarding personally identifiable information? And no one at Target seems to care in the least that they clearly have made one of their (used to be loyal) customers vulnerable to identity theft and or "check washing". Thanks for nothing Target- not only will I NEVER shop there again- but I will tell as many people as I can that your customer service STINKS!

I agree with your complaint about Target. I used to love shopping there and would regularly spend $200 - $300 there a month on clothes, toiletries, household stuff, gift certificates etc. However after today I've decided I am not shopping there unless I have no other choice. The customer service has become unbelievably bad...from not being able to get the photo-lab person to help me to then being told 20 minutes later that their machine is broken. I've had problems where their wedding registry wasn't working and I couldn't get help, trying to exchange defective apparel that is clearly their own brand but being told no, because I threw away my receipt and the latest today is I got hassled over a 50 cent coupon on a candy bar when I popped in for a few items and spent $30. I tried to let them know via their website but couldn't find a customer service contact to email...no need to wonder why. Frankly I've received better treatment at Wal-mart and they are cheaper...not too difficult to do the math on where I'll be shopping for such stuff from now on.

This is all part of the lack of training that the employees have. They do not value anyone who works for them enough to spend the time to train anyone. The general idea being that if they don't train you, you are not a threat to them...ie the team leads and the higher management. If you are not trained you make them look smarter by default. Because they put falsified reports on the employees saying how stupid and lazy they are. And as part of the lower caste you have no recourse.

Though you had a bad time...Be glad you don't have to work there.

Target lowered my credit limit

In December 2009 I made two payments, on time, to my Target Redcard account so that I could use the card for a car rental on my vacation at the end of the month. I carefully calculated the credit amount I would need to cover the car rental and the car rental company's hold. Two or three days after I made each payment, I called to check the available credit and the recording said "zero dollars." I also checked the account online and it showed available credit as $0.00, even though they admitted they credited both my payments. Wtf? They credit your payments but then refuse to make your credit available? I called them to discuss this, and was told, initially, it could take "7 to 10 days." I have never had another creditor take this long! One week after the first of my two payments, my available credit was still showing zero AND they lowered my credit limit by $200, with no advance notification. I called them again. This time, a bored sounding customer service rep or whatever she was told me it could take "several" days to free up my available credit. It has already been more than "several" days, but they won't acknowledge that. They claim they don't know when it will show the available credit amount from your credited payment. The lowering of my credit limit, btw, meant I was screwed and could not use the Target card for my car rental. My vacation stands a good chance of being ruined because of this, but of course Target does not care. I spoke to (screamed at, I admit) a supervisor after the CSR kept repeating the same maddening singsong litany about reviewing accounts monthly, etc. The supervisor refused to tell me when my available credit would show as actually available and refused to reinstate my credit limit to what it was before. Target National Bank employees are not helpful to customers in any way; they must be trained to endlessly repeat the same garbage till you want to leap through the phone and inflict physical violence on them. I'm a peaceful person, normally, but all of this infuriated me beyond belief. They claim they don't have to give customers advance notification before making a major change to your account. I suppose they can do whatever they want and consumers have zero rights, just like my zero available balance. I admit I've been late on payments, but in December I was on time and paid way more than the minimum due. I don't expect any corporation to care about my life or my plans, but they don't even pretend to listen or attempt to help you find any kind of resolution. In fact, half the time when you call you get someone in India or someplace who is very hard to understand and sounds like they're reading from a script. They're just horrible, judgemental and rude. Where's the incentive to pay them on time? Or to pay them at all, for that matter? They should be required by law to give advance notification of their changes. I told them they were more evil than Wal-Mart, but I'm sure they don't give a crap.

Target racisim/discrimination

I got terminated today by a softline executive manager "Val" today when i was finished with my work duties and was heading to home.I'm being asked by my team leader "Tanja" to not to clock out and follow her to the "VAL'S" office. Now "tanja" is the one who is a racist who doesn't like anybody from different nationality, what she likes to do is hang around in the store, sit at the fitting room, make fun of others and bosses around. She never puts any effort at work where it motivates others. If you are a team leader you are supposed to lead the team not just harass me menatally by checking small details of work being done.In other words she just bothers and bothers and bothers.

These are the reasons been given by "val" to me before terminating me becasue according to "Tanja" it has made "val" to fire me.

1)Tanja claims that i don't work at all - all the time hanging around in the store -Now explain me if i'm doing things like that. Why they dont show me the proof. They have cameras installed in the whole store. Please show it to me if i'm not working and just messing around. They have to give me a solid proof to make me believe of the blaim.

2)Tanja claims that i'm coming late to work - Now, why doesn't, "Val" go and check my punching records whether i'm being late to work everyday. In reality i'm always on time.

3) If tanjya doesn't work thats becomes okay and solve there personal life problems sitting at the fitting room Thats okay - If i just ask some of the co-workers regarding the job issues that witch tanja thinks i'm wasting my work time.

4)"Tanja" fat ### doesn't work at all and just messes around with people with dark skin or with different nationality. She thinks people who ar enot white are all thieves..She never says this but her behavior speaks a lot and i'm not fool who can't see that..

"Val", the executive manager, didn't even cross check with any other co-workers about the complains being brought up by "Tanja" regarding me.She just saw the complain sheet made by "tanja" and fired me...Even i was being given good compliments 4 times by the customers for an outstanding consumer serivice. If i dont work i dont get that...Simple!

I will not let it go now..I will suit "tanja" for discrimination and harassment issues.See you in the court "TANJA".

Target does discriminate. I'm gay and I could tell that the managers hated me, but I did my job well and didn't think I was in danger of being fired, so I decided to just stick it out until I could find another job. One day, I am called into the manager's office and he tells me that I am being terminated for unsafe work practices. WTF! I knew I had done nothing wrong so I demanded that he explain. He refused to provide an explanation and just said "It doesn't matter what you did. You've already been terminated and there is nothing you can do about it." I would've sued, but I couldn't afford a lawyer. So if you are fired from Target DO NOT sign anything, and get a lawyer ASAP.

This may be referred to as an induced termination, in which they have been searching for things to fire you over in order to downsize, or replace you. But, if you really feel like they did something wrong, and assuming you are telling us everything (including ANYTHING you may have done wrong) I would start by going to the next level up (regional, corporate, etc.) and explaining your situation to someone there.. If this does not work, you can discuss it with an organization such as the ACLU, or a similar organization. But you should be able to get them to show evidence of everything they are accusing you of.

Typical of any "minority" that gets fired - they always cry racism. Your grammar and spelling show that you are uneducated to say the least. Your attitude is negative. Your false racism cries do a disservice to those that might actually be discriminated against.

Not a team player. You have to appreciate, and conform to the other employees who were there BEFORE you were. Something to think about for your next job. Also, it is nice not to finger-point or to pass blame all the time. This is just good life advice.

here is what i have done in the past for "###" employees and co workers IGNORE THEM nothing makes them madder than ignoring pesky lil ### at work. i live by 3 simple rules that have a MASSIVE effect.
1. dont DO ### for the boss ! NOT even a small favor dont ever buy them a cup of coffee just clock in go to work and clock out.
2. dont fraternize or have a relationship at work. ! (this is the kiss of death and you may as well QUIT) with the hired help be it at work or outside of work dont give them a reason it WILL always follow you around and may bite you in the ### where it really hurts" the wallet"
3. NEVER sign a termination or a writeup or anything else ! you have a right to refuse to sign ANYTHING if it means your job so be it. remember you forgot to give notice you just QUIT, get up walk out and i cant stress this enough LEAVE QUIETLY goto to your car and enjoy the rest of the day off. if you do get fired claim the time off work if less than 90 days as UN-EMPLOYED looking for work. with this crap economy its very easy to sell unemployment if they ask did you collect say no but mean it.

as for "suing" co-workers lick your wounds and move on target is nothing more than a glorified "walmart" go back to school and get a REAL job..instead of wasting money on a b.s. lawsuit.

To the complainant,

I would contact your local EEOC office and file a formal complaint, the EEOC will investigate your complaint. You could be eligible for a large cash settlement as Target has a past history for discrimination. The ACLU is also someone else you should contact after the EEOC. It sounds like you got the shaft buddy...

Irish! I could not get over your analogy of this complaint. After looking through more or less 30 of your 140+ comments I noticed you side with the company the person complains about. I will bet 98% of the time you side with the company that is complained about. You are negative, insufferable and discourteous to say the least. You filed a complaint saying you were accused of stealing a VCR accidentally!? You want people to believe you!? You have an ID of IRISH. I know there are black irish, never the less, I never seen an African American that is IRISH. Is this a game to you, or do you have a problem?

Most of your comments have thumbs down. I also have noticed Trevor also follows your comments.

I was compelled to comment on IRISH. I would not doubt if there is a complaint on IRISH

Target shipping

I ordered a Nintendo Wii console from Target.com on Wednesday 12/09/2017. I received a confirmation email regarding the order stating that the estimated delivery dates would be 12/15/2017 to 12/18/2017. There was no tracking number included in the email, so I sent a email to the customer service requesting the tracking number. I received the UPS tracking number via email the next day. Today (12/15/2017) when I checked the tracking number on the UPS website at about 7 AM, I discovered that the order had arrived at the Horsham, PA depot at 1:22 AM. That depot is 15 minutes from my house. I assumed that the gaming console would be delivered this morning. At approximately 11:30 AM, the UPS delivery driver dropped two packages on my front porch. I was surprised when I brought the packages in, that neither was from Target. I called UPS and asked why the gaming console had not been delivered. They responded that the package had a delivery date of 12/18/2017 and that is when it would be delivered. I told the woman that I could pick it up, but she responded that they had to attempt at least one delivery before I could pick it up. I happen to find out that it was really Target that sets the date when the order is delivered and so I called them. They refused responsibility and said that it was UPS who decided when a package was delivered. I also want to take this time to give kudos to NewEgg.Com. I don't know how many times I have placed an order with NewEgg.Com and received the order the next day. Last July, I placed an order for a 37" LCD Samsung TV at about 3 PM on a Wednesday and it was delivered to me by 10:30 AM Thursday AND the delivery was FREE! This past Sunday (12/13/2017), I placed an order for a LinkSys wireless adapter and it was delivered today (12/15/2017) by 11:30 AM AND the delivery was FREE!

I needed to add minutes to my phone card and asked about a promotion that I heard on the AT&T line. NO one had any idea what to do. Several associates including department heads could help. Finally Shevan in Customer Service took the time, made some calls and got it resolved. I think at the least management should inform sales personnel at what is going on. They need to go underground like on the tv show to learn the workings of their store.

On October 6, I visited store number2547 in West Melbourne, Florida to make a return. The first person I spoke to-Jim- was very courteous. The next-Diane-was fine. I know I had a problem that would not easily be taken care of. I had a game CD that I had returned two times because every time I put it in the drawer of my computer, it popped right back out. I do understand about copyright laws, but I am a senior citizen on a fixed income and cannot keep traveling back and forth to keep returning a CD that is defective. My question is how can one tell a CD won't work until one opens it and inserts it into the computer? I asked to speak to Diane's supervisor. She called June-the LOD- to the customer service desk. When she got there, she already had an attitude and a stare on her face that really let me know she didn't care at all about my problem. She stared straight through me and before I could say anything, she said the same thing the others said. When I tried to say something, I asked her three times if she was even listening to me since she had this glazed look on her face. I finally asked Jim if he could put me in touch with someone I could complain to since it was obvious June wasn't going to even listen to me. He gave me a card to fill out and this internet address was on it. I would like to return the defective CD and get my money back. If you can assist me, I would greatly appreciately it. I do not, however, appreciate being treated the way June treated me. I was very upset by her treatment.

Just wanted to point out a slight flaw in the advertising for the week of 16Mar10 it would seem that you forgot to mention any other sales of DVDs or Music for this week but you did mention with (2) pages for new moon. Now I know its going to be a big seller but in my humble opinion you might want to consider other target viewer groups especially the ones that visit and buy twice a week and do not care about new moon. The DVDs and music that you failed to advertise will now be purchased at other retail outlets because I can not afford to make a trip to Target not knowing what item you will be having on sale and again I am not looking for new moon.

I love shopping at Target, but not the Target in Porterville. There is always a problem that happens everytime i shop there. A few weeks back my partner and i were at the Porterville location, my partner has to have the riding cart since he has very bad knees, all the carts (5) were dead so i asked for the manager who explained to us that they had been used all day, but it was morning and soon we were joined by an elderly lady wanting a cart and when the male manager told her the same false story she said she was going to Wal-mart and left. Went back today, partner got a riding cart that died way at the west side of store so i had to push it back to check out. We purchased many items including cereal: Post Grape Nuts Family Size, price on shelf under plastic was 3.79 so when we had checked out i looked at the reciept and see that i was charged 4.14. I realize that the difference isn't that great unless your a big chain like Target and small change can add up as we customers are decieved by false prices posted on store shelves. I went to customer service and explained to a nice clerk, i asked for the store manager since i wanted an explanation store manager IREN was called up. I told her of the over charging and asked why, she never answered or gave eye contact. She then had an employee do a price check which took a long time. I wondered was Iren having a bad day or does she not like working at Target. We had paid for our purchases with EBT and Iren asked if i had my card, i told her no that it was in my car (partner), "well i have to have it or no refund" she barked. So i went and got it and yes i was angry by this time. Came back she gave me the refund and still no explanation of the over pricing. I don't know if i will ever return to this Target. Wal-Mart isn't my favorite store to shop but after all this i can get get treated like a human being there.

I purchased an area rug on 2/5/10 and was unable to return the area rug by the 90 (5/6/10) Day return policy, due to family medical issues. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the rug, it just so happen to be that the rug colors didn't work with the area that I wanted to put it in, nor was it the right size. The store representatives were very friendly, but were unable to return the item at my original purchase price. They offered me $19.00 on an $80.00 rug. Are you serious? One of the managers offer customer support and said that they are able to make exceptions their that the store can't do. Well low and behold, I call customer support and I get this person that was not helpful at all. James as I believe his name was, kept telling me that they being "Target" were making the exception by giving me $19.00 for the rug. When I became persistent and asked to speak with a supervisr, I was told that I would be told the samething and sure enough I was, but the only difference was that the supervisor said that no one in the entire corporation would be able to make the exception of returning the area rug. I say BS! I've been in customer service before and I've also been a manager. I know that there is always an exception that can be made. I am highly disappointed in the service that I received and the POLICY that I was quoted. You never quote a customer your policy and you always try to do something for the customer. I wasn't asking for my money back, I was on asking for store credit to purchase another item. To give me $19 for a rug that I paid $80, will never make me step foot in another Target. My money is valuable to me and I'm sure that Target does not care, but I think that we as comsumers have busy lives and sometimes things happen that maynot allow us to get back to stores that we took the time out to goto in the first place and Tarket should be understanding of that. His rival store Wal-Mart seems to get it. To make the exception would be to return the rug, with the receipt and drivers license that they were so adamant that I have, and give me the purchase price in store credit to purchase another item within their store. Thate would be making the exception. I am extremely disappointed and upset. Target is not a cheap place to shop and to insist that I should just be satisfied with them giving me $19.00 and even accepting the return really pisses me off. Target, I would suggest that you revamp your policy and re-educate/train your customer servie reps. Constantly apologizing, but not offering any type of resolution doesn't do anything for the customer. I will be sure to tell all of my friends and family of this situation and I'm sure Target will lose not only my business but that of my friends as well. Times are hard now and no one has money to allow these big businesses or companies to take from them.

My wife went to pick up her perscription during posted pharmacy hours but was told the pharmacist was on lunch break therefore she could not pick up her meds. I went back an hour later later, and did pick it up-- BUT the pharmacist did not ask if I had any questions. The reason my wife could not pick it up was that no one could ask "DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS". When I asked why I wasn't asked the reply was she could call if she had any questions. When asked why there isn't some one on duty during posted hours I was told that it was against company policy to have more thsn one pharmacist.

I purchased a pack of 56 up&up whitening dissolving strips. Although I do hope they will whiten my teeth I have get to find out because I get frustrated trying to peel the backs off. Perhaps a little tab at one of the corners would help.

We were given a Thermo-Fridge and Warmer by a relative for Christmas (purchased at Target in Springboro, Ohio) for $25.00. We were also given the same item from another relative. On December 27 we tried to return one of them to the Jackson, Tn. Target Store. We live in Corinth, Ms. and this is the closest store to us (65 miles away). We were told that your store would only refund $12.50 on this item with no receipt. When someone gives you a gift they don't normally include the receipt which they have disposed of now. We did not return the item because this is simple robbery of your customers. Is there anything else we can do? Please respond to this email as soon as possible. If this is Target's normal practice we will not be shopping there again and will discourage others as well.

I placed an order for "In Stock" jeans to put under the Christmas tree for my daughter. I placed the order 11/24 BEFORE Black Friday. Now some person probably in India is telling me that they don't have them & they aren't expecting to ship them until DECEMBER 23RD! I will never shop on line at Target.com again. I already got my Old Navy & Gap orders which were placed afterwards.

Heard about the great clearance Target has everyday and as a new quest I got to the Daphne, Ala store at opening at 8 oclock.Sure enough at the register saw cashier checking out a team member, later to find out team leader of the pricing depart.with quite a few 75% off items. So i hurry to the clearance ailse to grab some good deals and all I saw was some rewrapped items with some 30% items. Boo Hoo to store 1274. Your team leader uses her position to acquire all the great deals for your guests for her benefit. What kinda store policy do you have and where is the HR manager to speak to about issues. BooHoo to Target 1274. In the meantime very thankful for all the other finely run business' in Daphne, AL. Very disappointted in my shopping experience at Target.

Target management

If you have any sense of self pride, do not work at this store! The store team leader, hr team leader, and logistics team leader are all in a little three-way power triangle. I was terminated for standing up to their bullying tactics and reporting them to the company's Integrity Hotline. If you already work there, DO NOT USE THE INTEGRITY HOTLINE! You will lose your job just like I did. I have a wife and six kids to take care of, but Target allowed them to fire me despite having scores at the top of every category even though I was doing my job with half the hours I was alloted by corporate. In order to try to make it impossible for me to succeed, the STL cut my team's hours in half; when we still outperformed all the other stores, she just flat out fired me for no reason. So now I am collecting unemployment while going back to college. I am going to laugh when one of the managers at target ends up working for me. Payback will be so sweet.

Renae, Meghan, and Doug are the three managers mentioned. And just so it is crystal clear, Target could not say a single negative thing about my work performance, which is why they lost their appeal for my unemployment benefits.
