They did a great job and I'm really happy with the results
They did a great job and I'm really happy with the results. The workers were friendly and professional, and they finished the job on time. The price was reasonable and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a basement finishing company. The only thing that could have been better was the communication, as there were a few times when I had to call to get an update on the progress. But overall, I'm very satisfied with the work that was done.
! The Basement Finishers LLC did a great job
! The Basement Finishers LLC did a great job. They were always on time and worked hard to get everything done. David and Roger were awesome and we couldn't have asked for better workers. Our basement looks amazing and we are very pleased with the outcome. Thank you Basement Finishers LLC!
This company has a AAA rating?
This company has a AAA rating? Seriously? They are a typical bait and switch company. They advertise low prices for finishing a basement, but then charge you extra for everything. Our basement ended up costing us $9000 more than what they quoted us (and that's not even including the upgrades we added). Their bookkeeping was a mess, which caused us to waste weeks proving that we paid invoices that they claimed we didn't pay. They kept threatening to stop working on the project, even though we were following all the invoices. They refused to take responsibility for anything. They denied that they ordered the wrong door for the pocket door (even though their project manager admitted it was the wrong door), they didn't order the carpet measurements in time (so we had to do it ourselves), and they couldn't figure out who was supposed to install the workbench (so we did it ourselves). And to top it all off, they did a terrible job on the shower tiles and blamed it on everything else except themselves. This has been the worst experience we've ever had, and the owner is the most unprofessional person we've ever met. He uses the ComplaintsBoard.com rating to lure people in, but then takes no responsibility for his mistakes or his subcontractors.
We shud of fired The Basement Finishers (TBF) when we saw how poorly the framing of our 800SF relatively simple project was done
We shud of fired The Basement Finishers (TBF) when we saw how poorly the framing of our 800SF relatively simple project was done. The project began on June 18 and was completed January 7. The original budget from TBF was $33,406.00. The final cost paid to TBF was almost $48,600.00. We were kind and allowed the project to continue, though they failed the Castle Pines Building Code 4 times. Framing: Nails were placed from the base strait up into a studs. Denver area houses are built on bentonite clay, which moves. Hence, any movement will crack the wall when nailed directly into the stud. Additionally, there was no support from below where a door was to be hinged. This was followed by failing to use the right R-Value insulation. They did not comply with Castle Pines Building Code and failed. Unfortunately, we allowed TBF to mash the correct, higher R-Value, insulation into a smaller framing space thus reducing the effectiveness of the insulation. This was just the beginning of noncompliance with the Castle Pines Building Codes and each time Mark Stone, owner of TBF, and his Project Manager (PM), David ***, would charge us for the changes even though the mistakes were theirs. Drywall: When drywall was complete, we noticed that they did not comply with their own drawing and left an exposed support jutting out from the wall rather than flush covered by drywall as in the drawing we approved and based signing the contract with TBF. Mr Stone made us pay more for them to correct their error or they would not continue. The next drywall misfortune was, David ***, TBF PM, had 2 huge grills cut into a perfectly fine wall for no apparent reason. He was told by the HVAC sub that all that was needed was a small cold air return grill on the opposite wall. The 2 huge grills did not comply with Castle Pine Build Code and they failed again. It took weeks to repair the wall to where it could pass inspection. Yes, we had to pay for the grills even though the wall with the huge holes was not well repaired. No consideration was given for their mistake. Fire Door: the fire door was not considered in the original estimate by Mark *** even though the drawing returned to them from Castle Pines had it noted in red ink. The original door between the bedroom and utility area was hinged on the left side and the electrical switch for the lighting in the utility area was on the right next to the door. The TBF drawing had the door hinged on the left so we could turn on the light before entering the utility area. The TBF PM sent a fired door that hinged on the right and when we asked the carpenter about it, he called the project manager who screamed over the phone, which we could hear, "I don't care what the owners want, finish the damn door!" We had to pay for the door being improperly installed. The fire door did not close properly and it took two more failed inspections to get it to almost close properly. After the project was complete, we paid to have the electrical switch moved to the left side of the door so we did not enter a dark room and have to grope in the dark for the light behind the door. These are only some of the frustrations of dealing with TBF. The finishes we selected were very modest, not high-end in the least. Mark Stone has an excuse for everything when sending constant addendum and emails. Yes, we were foolish, we just wanted our basement finished and we allowed his threats and bullying to continue. We never saw actual invoices, by the way. We have no idea what kind of markup he made on materials and subs labor. It was our mistake to keep going for months and allowing the costs to escalate to $15,000.00+ above his estimate. Needless to say, we do not recommend working with TBF. We have photographs to show the difficulties we encountered if need be.

Me and my wife hired The Basement Finishers LLC on 2/17 to finish our basement
Me and my wife hired The Basement Finishers LLC on 2/17 to finish our basement. They started work on 5/5 and drew some lines for the walls. But now it's 8/15/2022 and they still haven't finished. It's been 15 months since they started and we just want it done.
Basement Finishers LLC took 3 months longer than expected to finish my project
Basement Finishers LLC took 3 months longer than expected to finish my project. They didn't communicate with me about billing, and the project manager kept mentioning "the office" without giving me any information. The contract and the project manager's communication didn't match up, and they didn't explain the plans, dates, and supplies they would provide versus what I needed to provide. I wish someone else from the company would call me instead of the project manager who always says "it's not his job."
The Basement Finishers LLC, owned by Mark ***, finished our basement and did a good job
The Basement Finishers LLC, owned by Mark ***, finished our basement and did a good job. The workers were professional, but they didn't remove all the trash. We called David, the project manager, many times, but he didn't take care of it. We had to pay $150 to remove the trash ourselves. We told Mark and David, and Mark promised to pay us back, but he hasn't yet. It's February, and we still haven't received the money. Mark doesn't answer his phone, so we emailed him, but he didn't reply. We don't want to hurt a small business, but we need our money back. We hope Mark will send us a check for $150 soon.
