I got scammed and this business is giving me the run around
I got scammed and this business is giving me the run around. Do not use this company, they are bait and switch and will charge exorbitant prices you for services that they haven't performed.
we signed up for their sale
we signed up for their sale. waited hours even lost wages getting off work early. when they arrived a basic cleaning that was $125.00 we signed up for turned into $495.00 we kicked the guy out, said no that is dishonest . zero stars
Complete scam. We had an insert installed a year and a half ago and have maybe used it 30 times or so. Their website says a cleaning is $125. When they arrived the inspected the chimney and said we needed a "deep cleaning" that would cost $500 and we refused to pay such a ridiculous price. Afterwards they came back asking me to pay a "service fee" that they conveniently never told me about.
Like the others have all mentioned, this company is out to lure you into overly-inflated repairs. I called another company in the *** area that apparently subcontracted out this company to service my chimney. I did not get a call with the techs were "one to two hours out" as promised. They quoted me $1,999.00 for "repair" and chimney cleaning. Luckily/unluckily I've been a victim of shady chimney sweep companies in the past, so I didn't fall for their trick this time. The two young techs came to my house without masks, opened my front door without asking, and in general gave me weird vibes.
Don't bother calling this vendor, they won't show up anyway. After multiple cancellations at the last minute (one without contacting me at all), I have given up.

Its a scam
Its a scam. Dont schedule with this company under any circumstances. My chimney needed a standard annual cleaning, but they made up all these extra things that needed done and totaled $3,575. Needless to say, I didnt allow this and sent them away. Ill call a real company next.
Like everyone has said, bait and switch scam. They say they'll come out and clean it for $125, then claim the chimney is in terrible condition and charged us $550 for a clean. I wasn't home and my wife approved it. If I were home, I would've told him to take a hike. We had our chimney cleaned 2 years ago, and it gets light/moderate use. I know it's not THAT bad. I would stay away from these scammers.
Like so many others they were supposed to come do a chimney clean for $125. SCAM. This guy came not at all prepared to do a chimney cleaning and proceeded to pull out his CELL PHONE and shown the flashlight on it to inspect it. Never went on the roof at all but told me my chimney needed a deep clean for $489 AND the mortar needed repair for an additional $289. I sent him packin. Who inspects a chimney with an iPhone flashlight? Total scam outfit.
We were scammed by this company. A guy not wearing a mask showed up and told us it would be $500 per fireplace, and not knowing any better we paid the money even though on the phone we were quoted $125 per fireplace. They had good reviews, so we assumed that they must be good. After he left I went back to the *** reviews and saw that most of them were fake. Do not use this company!
From the initial call to the receptionist to the service professionals finishing up the project it was all 5 star work. It was great to find a local company that still offered excellent customer service. I would highly recommend this company to friends and family in the future.

We had a similar experience to the other reviewers except with someone named Nick who also told us his specialty is HVAC rather than chimney cleaning. Nick 'cleaned' our two chimneys, but was unable to fix a damper that wouldn't close completely after the cleaning. We had another company come out to consult on the damper and he was shocked to learn that we paid Chimney Pros $1200 for an incomplete cleaning... there was still a layer 1/8-1/4" thick of creosote remaining inside. My wife called Chimney Pros 3 or 4 times to get them to return to complete the job (requesting a better cleaning technician) but Chimney Pros hasn't called back in over a week. We'd like to get half our payments back since the job was only partially done.
I didnt make it as far as these other poor folks. I made an appointment (after seeing the advertised $125 cleaning special) for later in the week. 10 mins after my appointment was scheduled to start, I got a phone call that they needed to reschedule. I told them no thanks and I would be finding another vendor. The woman hung up on me, and I came here to write this review. 0/10 would not recommend.
My mistake was not checking the ComplaintsBoard.com site on this company. Their web page is slick and false. I had them out to clean one of three flues for the posted cost of $125. We burn infrequently and use seasoned wood. *** (the technician) first looked in the firebox and opened and closed the damper several times. No debris fell. He then went on the roof to look at the flue being cleaned. When he came down he showed me a picture he claimed was our flue. I was shocked at how thick the creosote was. There was barely an opening showing, and what opening there was had spider webs. He told me our house was going to catch fire and that the only solution was a deep cleaning and creosote removal at $489 and a chemical treatment at $299. I asked him to explain the process. He said he had to first knock down the creosote buildup, then treat the flu with chemicals which would further loosen things and follow this with a deep cleaning. I asked him to show me the picture several times, and noted that the picture on his phone was surrounded by other personal pictures. At the time it didn't *** on me that a recent picture wouldn't show up surrounded by so many unrelated photos. I was stressed. My husband is disabled and wasn't feeling well that morning. I went ahead with the cleaning because *** kept talking about a chimney fire. He then went back out of the roof, and I went to sit on our deck. He started talking to someone on his phone in a foreign language. After 5 minutes I started clocking him. He was on his phone for 25 minutes and with all that creosote I figured it would take him at least two hours to do the service. He came down to the living room fire box put a large contractors bag in the firebox, and tucked in a noisy machine. It couldn't have been a vacuum because it had no bag to receive debris. He never used the huge wet vac he hauled in. He went back up on the roof and in 25 minutes he was wrapping things up. He showed me a picture of our now cleaned flue. It looked brand new! He threw the debris in our trash can and I latter retrieved. No creosote and the debris doesn't weigh more than a pound. We were scammed. I have called the company three times with no response. I had our neighbor go up on the roof and take pictures of the "cleaned" flue which wasn't cleaned except for cobwebs and was not like the final picture he showed me. He also took pictures of the other flues and he said none of them needed a cleaning. I googled examples of badly creosote flues and bingo, the picture *** showed was identical to the one online. *** wanted me to pay in cash, saying if I used our credit card he'd have to charge me 3% more. My gut said put it on the card. I felt sick to my stomach that I had been scammed. I told my husband and it was his search that found all the complaints. I spoke to my credit card provider and with their guidance I am disputing the entire amount. My other neighbor called yesterday to ask if we were having problems with our chimney because she could hear and see this guy on our roof doing nothing but talking on the phone. I regret telling him we had had a major rehab of our fireplaces 15 years ago. If I hadn't, I am sure he would have told me we needed a new crown and flashing and that would have been the big red flag I needed. These people need to be shut down. I am going to file a complaint with the State *** as well.

I used The Chimney Pros to do an inspection on our home wood burning fireplace that we had never used
I used The Chimney Pros to do an inspection on our home wood burning fireplace that we had never used. Eli came out to my house on 3/7 and informed me that it would first need a deep cleaning and then he would do the inspection. I paid for the deep cleaning and then he took pictures the the chimney box, climbed on my roof and took pictures of all kinds of things that would need repaired before I could safely use it. He said that I would get an estimate for the repairs within 24 hours by email. I attempted to call multiple times and requested the estimate for repairs, the gentleman I talked to knew Eli did the inspection and cleaning but never returned my call again. I called three more times and then I started to be redirected to a different phone number than the one on the invoice, as if to block my call. I left 1 final message on Sunday, March 21st asking for a call back within 24 hours to resolve this issue or I would be forced to contact the ComplaintsBoard.com as well as the Construction Contractors Board, still no return call. I have since found out they are falsely advertising without a Contractors License that they are required to have in order to inspect or do any repairs on chimneys. I am reporting them and requesting the photos that were taken of my chimney at my residence as well as a refund of my payment for the inspection. People like this should be fined for trying to falsely advertise and work without a license!
Scheduled service through Chimney Pros because of posted reviews
Scheduled service through Chimney Pros because of posted reviews. Tech showed up while I was away and quoted $500 for cap repair. He left for another job said hed come back after a couple hours or next day. I knew cap was leaking. I asked how long job would take he dodged question. He came back in evening after dark. The worker did not have any Covid precautions (mask) taken even though this is clearly posted on their website, and is recurring theme in reviews. I asked again about time and told him Id be in bed 3 hours later but would check in. He dodged question and said he couldnt estimate time. He told me on phone earlier that he would need to grind 1/4Of cap away then chisel areas before applying new top layer. He finished job in roughly 30 minutes. I asked what work was done - he said he did not grind because of my kids sleeping. He only chiseled. I saw top coat applied but no substantial work was done. There is cap sealer out of place on brick - very messily done. The work quoted was not completed (grinding 1/4). To be unable to estimate 30 minute job, and force showing up in dark is not okay. I argued price with him due to these things but he stood on my porch. I was uncomfortable so paid with card to have him leave. I signed a receipt for safe chimney not the chimney pros. They have multiple sites it appears to drive traffic and avoid these kinds of reviews. After reading these reviews its clear this company thrives off dishonest quoting and charging extreme dollar amounts for limited work. I want a refund or credit for this charge, recognizing some work was performed, but not to the original commitment and verbal quote otherwise Ill exercise further means.

The company online presence promotes a chimney clean and inspection for $125
The company online presence promotes a chimney clean and inspection for $125. I called the company, and scheduled for an employee to give me a quote. He took a look at the chimney and said it was in bad condition and would need more than a regular clean but a "deep clean." He spent 45 minutes cleaning and I was billed $849 because I was told my chimney was "severely neglected and in poor condition." This company has fraudulent information on its website and quote. After I left, when I started investigating to speak with a supervisor about their pricing and my $849 charge, I asked to see his CCB# and he did not get back to me. I asked to see his insurance for doing work at my house, and the next day he sent me a document not affiliated with his company name nor his name at all. I called the number of the insurance form he sent me, and I was told there was no known connection to his company. There isn't an email affiliated with this company - only 3 phone numbers, a bogus "office address" that leads to a new apartment complex, no CCB#, proof of insurance or explanation of work done. The only way I communicated was over the phone and via text with this technician Eli, and calling the office. The website does not even have any real customer ratings only 5 stars among 595 reviews that you can't read. I can't even write a review if I wanted to. This company needs to be seriously looked into because it is claiming to be a legitimate company but it is not one. I tried numerous times to ask to speak with a supervisor, having called "the office." I could not reach any supervisor to substantiate why I was charged above the website pricing. He too told me his supervisor would call me back, but I never heard back again. After charging me $849 for a "deep cleaning," he gave me a quote for "health and safety repairs" that were important to complete. His quote involved removing the "damper" of my chimney for $4,800. I received 4 quotes from other contractors that negated the need for any "health and safety" concerns or removing the new damper, since I have a perfectly working 2nd damper. I was told from all other legitimated, certified ComplaintsBoard.com chimney companies that my chimney was in excellent condition and up to code. I'm embarrassed that I was almost pressured and scared into a phony $4,800 repair that was an absolute scam. The other chimney contractors deemed his $4,800 quote fraudulent, unsubstantial and each encouraged me to make a fraud alert to flag this supposed company.
