I have now had several comments deleted (comments which by any standard have been quite tame although passionate and that speak to truth - especially when compared to the amount of vitrol, lies, hate, racism, trolling, idiotic commentary etc that has been allowed to remain without censure) which is really making me angry and re-think ever coming back to this site. This used to be one of my favourite websites but I now find that the moderators are making a mockery of the comments section. They allow all sorts of trolls to spew their garbage all day long and yet when I make (what I feel) is an articulate comment/response that is relevant to the discussion and based on facts, I've had them deleted. If the moderators can't be consistent and fair then I suggest replacing them with ones that are. Otherwise I can guarantee your readership will decline (and I will certainly find a new site to contribute to and read) due to the frustration involved in trying to participate in civil dialogue and honest discourse.

That is exactly what my comment is about. If you hit the report button it automatically deletes the comment. Many are using that option to delete opinions/comments that they do not agree with. HuffPost has always been promoted as an open forum for discussion, that is not what it is now. I have no problem with an option to report offensive/racist etc remarks but posters are using it as a weapon.

I wish that they would leave the Report Button but either do what FB does and require an explanation before the comment is deleted and give the aggrieved person the option of blocking the poster. Or when someone deletes the comment it should read (Comment Deleted By)

I see by the fact that there are no replies from HP that they could not care less about their readers. I have been a member of the HP forum for years but it may be time to move on.

The 1st writer is restating my own experience and very words. The post has made it a practice to eliminate all reasonable posts and select out only for the most divise hateful drivil. They promote murder, terrorism, racism, misogyny, imbalanced coverage all of which can be addressed in good forums at the end of the article. Huffington chooses otherwise to promote hate and violence with their editorialization and censorship. They should be labelled a terrorists organization.

Hp has become a total hate speech sight. the moderators are anything but. both sides of the isle feel deleted out. only the most extreme views are allowed on now. how re the online sites getting called out for hate speech and hp doesn't? I am a middle of the road republican (maybe the last one) and I am offended by the extreme rights hatred and promotion of misogyny, racism, and out and out obvious anti-american stance. I think we should all have the right to post, except the extremes haters on both sides need to go, not the other way around. my posts there may be a little more passionate than this but not much. I get no notice of being deleted they just stopped posting any of my activity to the profile. when did hp become such media [censored]s? god bless all americans even if their opinions are wrong let them speak!

I have experienced the SAME type of "censorship"; and I filed a complaint. Also, I am probably one of the few AOL users who pay for a subscription (for support services, rarely ever used).

If the censorship continues, then I will simply drop AOL . . . and my subscription payments.
