The Retail Equation Paint

I purchased two one gallons of white paint and I only needed one to do what I had to do. I tried to return the other unused gallon of paint and was asked for my ID and was denied. I purchased both gallons with cash and threw the receipt away not thinking that I would have a problem returning it for store credit if I needed to. I'm very upset about this. I own my own business and didn't use my pro account for this transaction, this was for my personal property and not for my company and didn't want to combine my personal with my business for tax purposes. Transaction ID :[protected]-070-THD, Total $57.76. Like I'm saying, I'm not asking for cashb back, just store credit, so I can buy more merchandise from your store Home Depot

Desired outcome: To return item for store credit, to purchase more materials for other projects

The Retail Equation Refund Denied for HomeDepot.com purchase

In March of 2023 I purchased toilets from HomeDepot.com and had them shipped to my house. The toilets were damaged in shipment and FedEx returned them without any input from me. They were never delivered. This happened two more times. Nothing was delivered and I never had control over the return, but after trying three times to get what I needed, my refund was refused.

After about a month I was able to get my refund, but the process for requesting the review was not clearly explained and there was no way to find the status of my request or even know if they received my documentation. Home Depot, whose customer service was fantastic until TRE rejected my refund, has since declined to respond to my requests for more information.

I have no indication of what this means for me at Home Depot or other retailers that use TRE. Will I have trouble returning products at other stores? Even though I was granted a refund, does TRE still consider me a risk to retailers? Should there be some compensation for someone when a company refuses to return almost $600 of their money for a month?

In essence, they presumed I was guilty of fraud and it was up to me to prove my innocence.

Desired outcome: I suggest that TRE:More accurately distinguish what is fraud and what is not fraudInclude a way to email documentation and electronically request a reviewHave a way to check on the status of a reviewHave a faster turnaround for decisions

The Retail Equation Home depot return denied

I have been with Home Depot for many decades, remodeled 5x 4 houses. As a Pro member, i am guaranteed returns up to 365 days. Today I was refused a return and told I was filed with TRE.

In essence, Home Depot is accusing me of fraud via their proxy TRE due to my returns history. I am a disabled senior who relied of continuing to finish a remodel to sell, while restricted in transporation, covid, and physical limitations. Over the years I have spent perhaps $50K at HD.

TRE said my return record is a flag for fraud. Then, I was told i had to go through long appeals process just to get $250 returned to me. I suggest HOME DEPOT Is guilty of fraud, not me. This is money they are stealing from me. I had no warnings. This violates their contractual obligations to me.

Desired outcome: A UPS pickup order for my returns on Home Depot Order # WE20850467

The Retail Equation The retail equation and home depot customer service

The Home Depot and The Retail Equation have flagged me for some reason. I rarely even shop at THD, but I attempted to return some tile we didn't need on May 23rd around 7:45 pm and was denied because I "must have returned too many things." I never ask for store credit if I can help it, but apparently it's a problem if I do, at other stores that The Retail Equation partners with (Walmart, Lowe's, etc). The only place I can think of getting store credit at is Walmart and Target because I actually shop there and didn't think it was a problem. I have excellent credit and the manager advised me to check my credit report for any fraudulent activity, which is impossible because I specifically have my credit frozen to avoid that. I'm very dissatisfied that I keep getting the run around when I call THD customer service line to be forwarded to TRE, who tells me that they "don't handle this type of transaction denial", and then rerouted back to THD, who then tells me to call a phone number that doesn't even connect to a human.

Desired outcome: I would like a refund and a specific history of my supposed over-returns.

The Retail Equation customer service is my complaint

I have bought and returned at 6 pairs of shoes in the past 2 years. I had foot surgery, which did not go well and had to another surgery on same foot 6 months later. Had no problem returning uncomfortable, unworn shoes with tags on the. I went last month again try to find a more foot friendly shoe and was denied the return and was told to contact Retail Equation. I have called you a number of times and sent all the information you requested by certified mail and the mail is sitting in your P.O. Box since Feb 28, 2023.

How is this going to get resolved if you do not pick up your mail, so the return process can begin.

Desired outcome: To be able to do my return of 2 pairs of new shoes, with tags that my foot which had 2 surgeries is not able to wear. And possibly find another store to be able to shop for shoes.

See the following above. This is about being flagged and can't return my merchandise without a receipt. I was told to come back next year. My son bought this for me and lost tge tge receipt. He paid cash but all i wanted was a store credit. I have spent a lot of money with yall and still doing so. Just check my accounts. I very upset that i am being flagged and was told this especially in front of other customers. This was really embarrassing. All i wanted was a store credit so i could go get the other things we needed. I am disabled and it takes a lot out of me to get out and come to the store. David Arthur, [protected]

Desired outcome: I still have merchandise i can't use.

The Retail Equation Return denied without a receipt but with all tags on.

My name is Linda Turetsky. I called and explained my situation and when I got no positive response asked to speak to a manager or supervisor. I was asked for my phone number and was told that I’d be called back in 24-48 hours. No one called me back. I’m attempting to return a pair of black pants which don’t fit.

They have all the original tags on. The price was $16.99. I’m elderly and can’t locate receipts sometimes.

Please take that into consideration. I have been a loyal customer for many years!

Thank you

Desired outcome: Allow me to return the $16.99 item

I went to return it and this company who are tracking my cards and driver's license without permission denied the return 14 days later. they said I make too many returns. Outrageous.! firstly I don't return many items. They were wrong for not emailing me a receipt. I see there is a law firm looking into this company in the retail equation, ill be contacting them today. Next time I purchase and item, I will get the return policy in writing before shopping at stores using this bogus company.

The Retail Equation Claim denied

In Reference to transaction # [protected]-243-GAP

Old Navy Exchange issue

I recently went into an Old Navy retail location attempting to EXCHANGE four items that were given to

Upon trying to exchange these items I was told I would need to provide Identification because I had no receipt. Which I did, and then I was rejected from making the exchange. The cashier re-entered my information and denied me again. Now I informed both Old Navy store staff as well as the customer service agent I was directed to call that I have never made any returns and technically I wasn’t trying to return the merchandise either. I didn’t need merchandise credit I only wanted to get a bigger size clothing.

Fast forward to waiting 24 hours to receive the report and find out what my denial was based off. The only transactions on this report were the ones attempted the day before at the old navy retail location. And again, no transactions showed that I had ever attempted to return any merchandise.

For someone who has never did any returns or exchanges without a receipt to be denied based off no sufficient evidence and then told about the non-existent policy that is not posted anywhere in old navy retail location, leads me to believe that this was a discrimination attempt. The lack of customer service I experienced has led me to believe this was a calculated offense.

I can’t understand how a decision could be based of information on some report created when the report created had no evidence of any attempts to return or exchange any merchandise prior to. This again seems baseless and now I am stuck with four items of clothing my child can’t wear or fit. At no point has any member of old navy nor TRE been helpful with resolving my issue and as a consumer I can say I have highly offended. I don’t think I would want to spend my money at any old navy/gap locations and especially locations that utilize TRE as a contracted third party.

I am asking to reconsider this decision due to lack of efficient evidence showing that I in fact ever had any returns in the past. This has been the most frustrating and humiliating experience in my life.

Desired outcome: approval of exchange

Exact same thing happened to me at Old Navy and I am infuriated. In the retail equation and stimulates fraud has been committed somehow. I had it returned anything to Old Navy and now I'm also stuck with a bag of clothes that don't fit over $100 worth.

The Retail Equation The GAP

I got a gift for my daughters with no receipt. Unfortunately some of the clothes were too small so I went to a GAP store to ask for an EXCHANGE (essentially same clothes, different sizes). I wasn't even trying to get a merchandise card, just do an exchange, and TRE blocked my request. I asked for the report and called TRE and the CSR with whom I spoke essentially red from a script a laundry list of reasons for why the exchange was denied. I have not bought or returned anything at the GAP in the last 3 years. None of it was useful - I asked him the specific reason and he said "I don't know." He then told me that I have to send a WRITTEN LETTER (not an email) to a brick-and-mortar location and told me it could be up to FOUR-SIX WEEKS to get a reply. Zero customer service, zero resolution.

This company is a complete scam and it is ridiculous that no one will tell you why they deny a return.

Desired outcome: I would like a proper response and explanation, a way to make the exchange for the right sizes, and an apology for very poor customer service.

The Retail Equation Tile and Grout (Floor & Decor)

I'm currently renovating my bathroom and decided to shop at Floor & Decor for the majority of my purchases.
Like with many home improvements you later decide on a different color, size & style etc. changes are to be expected.
In my case I wanted to exchange a particular shower tile & grout with another tile/grout...Same brands, same amount, just a different color.
I have about 10 receipts from that store and of course with my luck I couldn't find the only one I needed for the return.
I was told by a Floor & Decor employee it wouldn't be an issue if I provide a phone number used for the sale.
I tried to return items for an exchange and I was denied by THE RETAIL EQUATION. I was shocked when the store manager couldn't over ride the return. I was basically forced to purchase what I need for the desire look for the bathroom but, now I'm currently stuck with my prior purchase $400 of brand new tile/grout which is still currently in stock at the store.
Now, with the phone being asked for the return, I have other receipts from Floor & Decor with my number and others with no phone numbers.
So because they were not able to match any of my phone numbers (home/cell) shouldn't justify why they feel I didn't make this purchase. Is it possible the cashier entered a wrong number during sale? or never bother to ask? Totally unfair! Floor & Decor is a great store but please stop using The Retail Equation. Bad publicity will hurt the store, I may never go back!

Desired outcome: I willing to accept store credit because of no receipt.

The Retail Equation Return declined at Home Depot

I was attempting to return a (1) 2x8x8 PT lumber and (6) 4x4 Sampson post anchors that I purchased but did not need for the job. I was expecting to get store credit as I have done in the past. The bar codes were on the items and they had not been used. I was shocked to see the denial for excessive returns? I would like to file a complaint and be removed from this list. My transaction ID is: [protected]-300-THD. Furthermore, I will be cutting up or cancleling the new HD card I just obtained and not shopping at your store ever again if I can help it.

Thank you,

The Retail Equation Home Depot Return

I'm a builder who spends at least $10-$20k a quarter at Home Depot (my 2020 Home Depot purchases alone were over $100k) and I return easily a few thousand a year. Now I'm spending hours fighting with another BS project that does nothing but screw the customer. Any criminal is just going to use his buddies ID to return stolen items and they know this. WE NEED TO START BOYCOTTING EVERY STORE THAT USES THIS GIMICK UNTIL THEY ALL START DOING IT. My business is going to Sutherlands. It'll cost me 5%-10% more but at least I can return defective items!

Desired outcome: Class Action. I’ve emailed my attorney about a defamation suit.

The Retail Equation Returning purchased products to The Home Depot store

After moving from a home to an apartment, I discovered that there were many items that I had purchased in the last year from Home Depot that I would no longer need to have available. So I decided to return them to the store. Some of the items I had receipts for and others I did not. However I agreed to a store credit for anything that did not come up on my HD credit card history. After scanning my items, the store associate showed me that the screen now said "Return Declined" and gave me all of my items back. She said that it was not her decision, that I could read about following up on the receipt, which she handed to me. When I got home I read the receipt and followed the instructions for logging in at The Retail Equation's website, but it did not result in my getting any information about how to pursue a credit for my items. I am very disappointed with them and with Home Depot for trying to foist off their responsibility to customers onto a 3rd party.

Desired outcome: Acceptance of my items for a credit of $139.06 even if a store credit is best.

The Retail Equation Sephora

I was denied for returning a product from Sephora for no apparent reason. After reviewing all the transactions on my report there were several that were not authorized or made by myself so I should not be penalized for this. If a company is going to have a return policy with no limits then your purchases should not be monitored through a 3rd party company or this should be disclosed to the consumer.

Desired outcome: Return history deleted

The Retail Equation Home Depot Return

I received a 18V Ridgid Bluetooth Radio, 18v battery, and 18v charger for my birthday. The radio was supposed to work on 18v battery or 2 AAA batteries. It worked fine on 18v but didn't work on AAA batteries. It was on online only item. I carried it back to The Home Depot and explained the situation. The had the Ridgid Bluetooth radio in stock and I asked could I just exchange the radios. They told me no my two options were 1) a credit to the card that it was purchased on or 2) a store credit. Since it was a gift and I didn't want the gift giver to have to get involved, I choose a in store credit. I purchased a Dewalt 20V Bluetooth speaker. I wasn't aware until I go home that it was a speaker only and not a radio. I soon went back to Home Depot to exchange it for a radio. I had all receipts. The employee asked for my Drivers License and ran it through The Refund Equation - some quack scam company that they run their returns through. It was declined. I asked why and was told that I was a "serial returner". I asked to speak to a Manager. After the Manager arrived, the employee told the manager was was going on and explained the process to him. He tried the return again through The scam Retail Equation and it was declined again. I was told that there was nothing he could do. I asked it I could exchange it for the Ridgid radio that I originally brought back as I was told no. I asked what I could do since I would never used a Bluetooth speaker. He told me to give it some time and try again. That is unacceptable. I called the scam company The Retail Equation and was told that I would receive a detailed list of my returns with the next 24 hours. The following day I received an report showing ONE return within the last 7 years and the two declines from Home Depot. This is crazy and the worst customer service imaginable.

Desired outcome: Full refund or gift card for full amount.
