Website build and Google listing
I was contacted out of the blue by Unitel and they persuaded me to sign up to a 12 month agreement that included a landing page and increased traffic to a new website they would build for me. I tried to cancel, but was told this wouldn't be possible. The new website, which turned out to be absolutely awful when it was created is nowhere near the top of the Google listing as promised. Again, I tried to complain, but got nowhere! The service they offer is awful and the after sales care is even worse! I may not get anything back from these cowboys, but if I can help anyone else who may be considering their services from signing up, then it's been worth it!

Listing on first page of google
Unitel Direct cold called me in February 2022 promising to bring my company to page q in Google, Bing and Yahoo.
They would achieve this by creating a website called babyclothesinireland and when people click on this listing they would be brought to my site. I was imterested in their promise with google and so signed up with them. They created said website but in such a way that visitors need to enter their website and click shop more buttons to reach my site. This is not happening and I am not getting click throughs as promised.
They failed to deliver on their Google listings promise and now state that they never made this promise. They have refused to provide me with a copy of their initial cold sales call despite several requests, verbally and in writing.
They refuse to cancel my contract and continually pass me around people in their company who promise to look into the matter and then say they cannot help me.
I would very strongly advise any company seeking ranking on Google to not use Unitel Direct as they fail to deliver on promises and have very little SEO experience.

Thank you for your anonymous response. Yes, I have reached an agreement with customer services, after several months of being sent round in circles and Unitel promises made and not kept. I took legal advice onthe matter and it was also brought to my attention that numerous other Unitel clients were having/had the same problems as myself. I brought this to the notice of Unitel and a compromise was reeached very shortly after.
In all honesty, this situation would not have debveloped if Unitel staff followed through on their word, did not pass clients to staff member after staff member, each promising to help but merely repeating the same "company policy" and then passing the problem onto another staff member, only to have the ame process repeated. Add to this a very contentious and assertive way of dealing with customers and customer problems - it created a combative relationship between Unitel and myself (a customer).
As a customer service orientated retail business owner, Iam well used to dealing with contentious customers and have never allowed a situation to develop into what I have experienced with Unitel. It just isn't good usiness practice and I will leave it t that.
Again, I thank you for your reply although it would have been nice if you had put a name at the end of your reply as it would make it more personal and less 'standard company reply".

Automatic renewal
I’m a Pilates instructor who teaches 4 classes a week. I was cold called by United direct and they sold me a package for a landing site and getting me higher on listings for classes in the area saying it would double my clients. A year later, I’d not had a single person contact me through a Google search (not their fault- just one of those things). I dislocated my knee so wasn’t able to work and had been massively financially hit due to Covid and imminent recession so I decided to apply to go back to uni. I contacted United to cancel my services and was told I couldn’t as I had to give 30 days notice before it automatically renewed for the year. And to top it off my initial out payment had now doubled from £220 plus VAT to £440 plus VAT. And £82 a month thereafter. I received absolutely no reminders, no new contract or notice of renewal. Not a thing. When I asked about this I was told ‘We have customers all over the world, we’re not going to contact people and send out reminders and new contracts to everyone’. Ridiculous response. After a series of rude, unhelpful conversations with people I finally got a nice lady who gave me some discounts and added words. Whilst I understand they have a business to run I just feel that taking money from individuals with tiny businesses like mine without any get out clause when I have no want or need for the product is awful. I’m single, live alone and now going to be a student and I’m paying out to them more money than my little classes ever earned. I hope their CEO is enjoying their holidays in Barbados while people like me are having to pay them rather than eating. Thanks Unitel. The dumb thing is that if they’d just helped me out and let me cancel I may have recommended them to others or used them again in the future. But here we are.

Broadband
Last March, Unitel sent us an email warning of increased pricing to Broadband, The email didn't specify the increase and it gave us 7 days to call them, I called within 7 days and I was told that the increase was only going to be £2-£3 per month, they also told me that there's nothing I can do to get out of the contract,
In April they increased the price from £13 to £28 a month an increase of more than 100%.
I have since called and sent several emails asking for the log and recording of my calls, I have also asked for a brekdown of the fees for terminating our contract, which they said they'd reply within 10 days, that was over a month ago, I haven't had a suitable reply, they keep telling me that they will look into the matter but no actual reply since April.
I spoke to OFCOM and I was told that suppliers need to highlight the increase and give 30 days notice allowing contract termination, It is frustrating that companies like Unitel feel they can misinform customers and put up their prices as they please without regards to their customers.
Desired outcome: Honour the contract or allow us to terminate without penalty
I have already written an email to the mentioned email on the 20th of June which you didn’t reply to date, you should be able to locate my account using our company name easily as your operators can , this is typical of Unitel unwillingness to deal with the complaint and using such a weak excuse
Professional looking website and SEO
I was cold called by this company offering SEO and website sevices that would get me on page 1 of google. They guaranteed this. One look at the garbage website they provided, [ eliquiddublin.com ] stuffed full of copied content, tells me they are unprofessional and have no chance of delivering on their promises.
The sales pitch was first class, what they were goig to do was amazing. They just did not deliver.

Mini-website domain names
Avoid as dodge company.
Set up mini-websites with Unitel Direct with promise to receive support and once website been completed and I am happy with the website. After will be charge me for the services. Any issue should contact account manager. However, most of promises been made was not fulfilled. Already been charge for uncompleted services and my mini-webites there is many errors and no resolve was made. My account manager stop to call me as I made so many complaints about it. Notting been resolve. Now, I am blocking payments and going to dispute in court for so waste time and money.
If you are ok to waste your time and money. Join Unitel Direct Ltd as very poor services is provided and a lot head will happen.

Yahoo and bing advertising
Unitel direct tel me a lady give me all the speak then put manager on, he spoke alot of positive yahoo and bing advertising, he said pay £30 start fee, then £120 per month, he said you will boost your removal buisness up get calls, not 1 call and he never rang me back as stated this unitel is a scamming company tricking you with lies, trying g to access bank accounts, keep away from these scammers fraudsters .

Service contract
I have been given a 2600 ccj from this diabolical company that promised me the world and I ended up with Wales.
I have paid the 255 fee to the courts to set aside this judgement because they done nothing and ignored my cancellation.
The ccj has nearly ruined my business and I shall be seeking damages from the court.

seo/ web and domain hosting for website
Unitel Direct is a completely corrupt company. Overcharge you for services not provided and when I cancelled the rip off seo package last week they have now taken my website down even though I have paid for domain and hosting until Oct 2020 ! How can they do this ?
Has anyone had any luck with complaining to trading standards ? I want them to transfer my domain name but expect them to say I will have to pay them to do this and really do not want to give them another penny !

Hi there,
After speaking to a saleswoman at Unitel Direct who offer me a renewal contract (I paid £276 for the first year.) and saw no benefit. I said I wasn't interested so she called me back and said she could do it for £160. I said "no" then she called me back and said my business would be first on Yahoo search engine if I pay £120 a one year fee so foolishly I agree.
After looking for my business on Yahoo and was nowhere to be seen. I called them and made a complaint and that was a waste of my time. Then they started to take money out of my account without no authorization from me.
This company is a disgrace.

Harassing unsolicited telephone calls
I keep receiving unsolicited harassing telephone calls from this company. The latest being today at 2:46 pm from an apparent member of staff called ""Jimmy". This needs to stop we have requested that they do not call us and that they remove us from their database but they still keep calling. He is apprently trying to sell us cheap broadband.

After several weeks they haven't started the job
I asked the team from the company www.uniteldirect.co.uk to help me with my website. The rep told me that they would think about strategies. Also he told me that they would think what my website really needed and how they would implement it. After some time I contacted them, but they didn’t provide any idea, because they haven’t even started to work on my problem. I was disappointed.

renew subscription
Unitel Direct phone you to re-new your yearly fee of £695 for doing absoluetly nothing, i have sent email after email asking them explain what they are doing for their money with no reply. They then have the audacity to ring me for another £695 that i foolishly did in the first place. I will not be dinog this again but they kind of blag you that by not doing it they will turn off all SEO work that they have done and make our web site not perform.

Aggressive Mis-selling
We were bamboozled into using this company for one expensive year during which time we noticed no marked difference to our website traffic. Several weeks ago we were telephoned and very aggressively told it was time to renew. We declined and after a very heated discussion thought the business was finished with. Today we have had the "Cancellations Director", a David Welch, ring us and threaten us with a large bill if we don't give him the login and passwords to our website as Google are chasing him to remove something from it! We refused him access and if he sends us a bill we will not be paying it - in fact, as Unitel's name is in the small print at the foot of our website, it could be argued that they owe us for publicity!
They are nothing but aggressive, money-grabbing bullies - AVOID THEM AT ALL COST!

Don't use them
I contacted the company www.uniteldirect.co.uk, because I thought that found a really good company, which could develop my website. First of all, I didn’t like that they didn’t consider my thoughts and desires, and they didn’t listen what I told them. Also they didn’t inform about the developments of the website. Do not do what they say they will
This company operates high pressure sales techniques, keeping me on the phone for over an hour to get me to sign up to their so called SEO. T&C's are only available once you have paid up, they do not do what they say they will until you ask for your money back (or if you try to cancel straight away they suddenly did the work the second you placed the order!) and then tell you that they don't give refunds, nor is a cooling off period allowed.
Their telephone and ISP broadband service is useless and again they do not give refunds...A business package where my BB was down for over 2 weeks and then intermittent ever since has been justified by them saying that they don't guarantee to give coverage at the time!
Everything is done over the phone including the hassling you to sign up again when you do finally get out of the contract and they will charge you extortionate amounts to move your domains that you transferred to a company call Heart back out again!
BEWARE THESE PEOPLE AND USE AT YOUR PERIL!

We signed up with Unitel Direct on the 11/10/2010 -on the basis that they would get us on the natural listings on (google) with 7 to 10 days - its now been 8 weeks since we signed up and no work has been done on our website or on the google natural listings. i would strongly advise all companies looking to get ranked on google to not and I repeat NOT use...
