I went to Thompson (T) on 7/28/2022 'cause my Yukon had a dash message sayin' "STOP ENGINE LOW OIL PRESSURE". T checked it out and said it had plenty of oil and no leaks. They said I needed a complete lifter job based on a memo from GMC for this engine. They did the work and put in a new oil pump, but the Yukon still had low oil pressure. They said I needed a new engine and charged me $6,253.32. But the engine failed again the same day with the same message, even though it was full of oil and had no leaks. Another GMC dealership (master mechanic) said the $6,200 work shouldn't have been done and that a physical oil pressure test would have shown the need for engine replacement for less than $500. I asked for a partial refund, and the Service Rep and Service Mgr were quick to respond and seemed helpful. But they passed it up to the owner on Fri Aug 26, and I haven't heard anything since, even though I left voicemail messages on 9/6 and 9/9.

We had to go back to Thompson Cadillac for any warranty issues since they are a certified dealership. We went there on Saturday, August 15, because our car was having some shifting issues, using transmission fluid, and the cruise control was kicking off. They told us that the cooler gasket was leaking and needed to be replaced. They said they called the dealership but they couldn't find the part number so they couldn't replace it under warranty (even though the original invoice from the replacement was left with Thompson's that stated it was replaced at that time on the invoice). They charged us $154.78 for repairs that consisted of $137.45 of labor and $12.64 for parts, $3.67 for shop supplies, and $1.02 for sales tax or Tax I.D. After we picked up the car, we tried to use the cruise control but it doesn't work at all. The invoice says no work was performed on it, even though we asked them to look at it since it's part of the transmission.
