Unfair and unreasonable charge
To whom it may concern,
On the 13th of February I decided to download the app. I initially subscribed to one of their monthly plans which was something between €1.89 / €2.89 per month (cannot remember the price exactly, but thought that this amount is almost nothing to pay per month, so why not go forward with it.
Later on that night I decided that downloading the app was a stupid decision and not very safe and decided to cancel my subscription and delete it.
I cancelled my subscription either on the 13th or the 14th of February (if it was already past midnight).
The subscription was successfully cancelled then I went to bed.
I woke up the next morning and went to delete the app as well only to find out that my account has been banned.
I was shocked and could not understand the reason for the bann, as I did not interact with anyone or whatsoever. Basically I did not even use it, except for swiping to see few profiles. I guess I was banned for cancelling my subscription, as there seems to be no other reason.
However, as I was not interested in using the app anyways and my subscription was already cancelled on the previous night, I did not question it any further until I saw my bank statement 2 days ago.
I saw that on the 20.02.2023 Tinder has charged me with the amount of €93.57 = 183.49 BGN (in my country's value).
I was shocked and very upset, as first - I did not sign for an annual subscription, second I was not even using the app as even if I wanted to I have been banned!
I realized that it has already been past 14 days which is the deadline for requesting a refund, but as still tried to talk to their customer support and explain them the situation.
Clearly I was not expecting that they will charge me for something I can not and am not even using.
I would understand if the charge was for a month, but that amount is not for a month!
When I contacted them they said they could not help me as it has been past 14 days (as expected).
After trying to receive an explanation on what base my account was banned and on what base was I charged after being banned after one day, no one replied anymore at all.
When I asked to speak to a manager or complaints handler, they said they are sorry but they cannot do anything more to help me.
I am very upset and disappointed!
This is just not fair and not right!
I truly hope you could help me to get my money refunded considering the circumstances.

The account is said to have been closed in March, 2021 but My account is February, 2023On the date it was closed. My information still appears. I want my account back. Banning for no reason
I have been a paying member of tinder for a couple of years, but hardly use the service. Three weeks ago, I opened the app because someone had messaged me, and then promptly closed the app without doing anything. I have now been informed that I have been blocked due to breaking their T&Cs. I now can't use Tinder, or any Match Group affiliated dating sites, like OK Cupid.
I have no clue what I did. Tinder's customer support desk just answers me with some automated, standard message. I don't know what I did, and now I can't appeal. It could just be that other users report you because you don't answer. It could be that someone has used my photos and made a fake profile. It could be I did something wrong, which would have truly been a mistake. I just don't know.
Desired outcome: They have no right to ban me. The other party might have been malicious when reporting me. I'd like to compel them to provide me with answers
refund problem
I forwarded my plus membership, which I did not use even for 1 day, to tinder with its reasons. They accepted my reasons and said that a refund will be made within 10 working days. but they did not give a refund even though it has already passed the specified time. All I got was "sorry".They said they will refund and canceled my plus membership, but they do not give a refund.
Desired outcome: I request a refund as soon as possible.
Re-subscription fees
I cancelled and unsubscribed from Tinder dating app on my pc desktop 2 weeks ago before the next month deduction. I purchased only 1 month's subscription as it stated 1 month, that is all that is written. Subscription fee of a-$26.79 dollars. Vat a-$2.68 dated 17th of this month, I only received the email today on the 19th please reimburse me with this month subscription fee of $26.79 as no longer wish to be on this dating site. Length of subscription 1 month expiration date [protected] it is not stated clearly enough and is misleading to the customer. As 1 whole year is only $99- why would I pay $26 for 1 month and then be charged again if I wanted to be billed monthly, surely it is understood that I would have chosen the cheaper option.

Since they are interested in new clients,they care about their customers' satisfaction and they work honestly. I met many beautiful ladies there and I have not come across any scammer yet. Tinder managers don't bother with scam prevention, that's why the number of fake profiles and catfishers is crazy there. To sum it up, Tinder is a useless site with a lot of shady things going on.
Identity theft
Some used my personal email and identity to create a profile on tinder.
I contacted tinder to inform them, they told me to send government issued id, photo, and use the email address used for the account and Tinder would provide the data and information. I did this all that was ask, 9 emails over the 2 days, I have made a report to the police and have been waiting to see the data before engaging with the cyber crime unit.
I have since been told that I would require a court order to gain information that used to impersonate me.
Where is the safety, duty of care. My address or phone number could have been handed out. This could put myself and my children at risk.
Looks like I be having to contact the officer in charge of the report so we can waste time and money to get the information first offer to me and also have my children and myself at risk because of this already having a domestic violence issue related which tinder has already been made aware off.
I am happy for that to be provided directly to the police officer that took my statement and I have provided Tinder with I/R number already for the statement.
It not good enough and it protects the people who break the law and cause harm and potential rick to innocent people who are experiencing issues and trying to heal from domestic violence and the ongoing issues. Such as this.
Desired outcome: I would like the data information used on the account and any interactions.An IP address to provide the police as to the source of the account being made.
Tinder app
I downloaded the Tinder App and paid for a six-month subscription. Within a few hours, I was blocked. The message was that my subscription was under review. The company asked me to send in photos to determine I was who I claimed to be. I sent in the photos, making the facial expressions they requested. I was then banned. This ban was implemented within a few hours and I had hardly used the app at all. I was still learning how to use it and when I was banned, I sent in my cancellation request and attempted to get a refund. I paid Google Pay using American Express. All these companies were not only very difficult or impossible to contact, but were also not helpful at all. Tinder made an arbitrary decision without revealing the basis for the decision or allowing me an opportunity to defend myself. Google Pay did not honor their commitment to give a refund if the purchase was cancelled within 48 hours, which it was. American Express just accepted Tinder's decision without providing me any information. I could not even contact American Express to contest their decision.
Below is from an email I attempted to send to American Express. I could not find a customer service email site to contact. I am abroad and telephone contact is expensive and inconvenient.
"About a month ago, I opened a dispute with American Express regarding purchase of an app on Google Play. Recently, I received notice that the case was decided against me. American Express stated that Google Play had no record of my cancellation of the app. I have email records showing that I sent cancellation request on the very day I subscribed to that app, maybe seven hours later. This is well within Google Play’s refund policy that cancellation within 48 hours will result in full refund."
I will not use American Express again. I will avoid using Google Play. I would recommend people to stay away from Tinder.
Desired outcome: Complete refund and transparency in decision making process. Communication channels with customer service should be clear and available.

I was on tinder for years, no problem, then one day l got banned. Been a year still not recovered my account, unable to make new account. I did nothing, I'm an attractive female, l have genuine interactions, no violation of any terms. I've had my main app l use daily taken away for no reason and I'm very disturbed and upset. I live in a remote place and tinder is the only hope for me to meet potential friends and relationships. I literally need tinder, I'm suffering tremendously without it. I consider this unjustified ban as a violent act of abuse by tinder and the match dot com company targeting against me.

I have been with Tinder platinum for a long period and I had 8,000 likes. Only a few days ago they have banned me without any reason and incident. By their own admission they cannot say state what exactly I have committed as they callously claim that I have violated their terms. Being banned for reporting two fake accounts
I was catfished to an extreme extent by one tinder user.I reported this to tinder and they said they removed catfish s account I then was speaking to another man who also was a catfish my brother had apps on his phone. To do reverse photo search and found the two Instagram accounts that these men had stolen photos from.I sent this info to tinder with photos of the men I was supposed to be speaking to who had clearly stolen images. Then tinder had the nerve to ban my account.I am the victim here and I am the one being punished.I never want to use tinder app again.But I do want a full refund of every dollar I have ever spent on tinder.

Went to login to my tinder you let me in. I was changing a few of my photos you put my account on lock. On the 2nd of September 2022. Then I went back to it this morning to see if it had been resolved and it said I was banned 3rd of September.. Tinder thought I might be fake so it had me do these puzzles to prove I’m not fake. I got stuck in the loop where I solved probably 40 or 50 puzzles without it letting me get verified. Deleted the app, restarted my phone, tried again same issue. Then I use the web browser instead and solved the puzzle, then it said it was going to send a code to my email, put in the code for my email, it looped me back around to solve the puzzle again(clearly a bug). This cycle continued endlessly. Reached out to Tinder support and they didn’t even read my problem. They sent me a copy and paste response that had nothing to do with my issue. After submitting multiple complaints finally somebody came and basically said they’re unable to resolve my problem sorry. I even sent in my drivers license and everything to prove that I’m real. I sent them screenshots and they did nothing with it. They offered no refund or anything for the money I spent on the app. I lost hundreds of matches. Three years ago, I was banned on the dating app. They didn't provide a reason or warning. I would like my ban lifted. I didn't harm anyone or harass anyone and I had barely matched with anyone. 3 years is a very long time. I was young and immature back then. 2 weeks after subscribing to Tinder Platinum, I was inexplicably banned (after using Tinder for 5 years with no issues, reports or bans).
After contacting their 'support team' to try to understand why, their agents repeatedly responsed with the same, vague, copy-pasted response (lifted directly from their website with no change) that "your account has been banned from Tinder for violating our Terms of Use and/or Community Guidelines" and "we take violations of our policies seriously and don't offer an appeals process at this time. This decision is final, so you’ll no longer be able to access your account or create new accounts in the future."
I have contacted my bank to reverse the charges, but this amounts to fraud and is honestly one of the most shocking customer service experiences I've had with any organisation, ever.
Desired outcome: To get my money back and receive an actual, valid response to my query of "how can you ban a paying customer (who is part of your highest tier) with no warning, no explanation and no appeals process"?
