Money taken out of checking account without approval
I was given a quote for Car Insurance and House Insurance. My driver's license is clean. After 2 weeks about I was contacted and told that Farm Bureau runs another report and I needed to go on High Risk Insurance. I thought about going with the company and I asked the secretary how much I would need to bring with me to start the insurance. I thought about it and within the hour I call and said I did not want the insurance I was going with someone else. The secretary had already started the withdraw out of my checking account even though I had asked her how much I needed to bring with me. The new premium was $670.80/month. This was on November 3, 2011 when I cancelled the insurance with Titan which in my opinion I never signed up for since I never signed any papers.. On November 4 I had to sign 3 papers declaring that I cancelled my insurances for car insuance, house insurance and membership since I was not with Farm Bureau for even 1 month. Today I looked on my bank account and they are now taking the original amount out of my checking account which is $426.73 which includes my house insurance and car insurance which was canceled on 11/4/11. Today is 11/9/11. This is $1, 097.536 taken out of my checking account that should not have been touched. Please Reply. If you need proof of these papers I can send them to you. If you need to reach me you can call me at [protected].
Always charge late fees
The company doesn't send bills on time therefore i always get charged the late fee of $10 it's not my fault the mail is late.
They don't have any other way of notifying me of the bill that is due.
All they have to say is "I don't know what happened?".
I think they're just ripping us off!
I am tired of that line and wish they would be more helpful and knowledgable.
And they can never find me in the system. thanks for your time and for letting me vent. I appreciate it!
Do not use their Electronic Funds Transfer system
Last year I had to play phone tag because of an insufficient funds payment. The reason for the fee was legitimate, but every phone call after that was a different story and a different fee amount. When I would then have insufficient funds in my account because I was told a certain fee was dropped I would then have to pay more fees on top of the original.
This year they're claiming to have requested the funds automatically from my bank account, but my bank has no record of that attempt. When I explained this to Titan their solution was to pay a replacement payment of the same amount to cover this month in the event that their request comes back "insufficient funds", but I'll still have to pay the insufficient funds fee.
Do not use their Electronic Funds Transfer system.

One of the titan auto insurance holder hit my car while she was parking her in car in a parking next to my parked car on may 8, 2008. The insurance holder informed me about what had happen at the same time reported this to her agency and she wrote a police report. I received a letter on behalf of the Titan auto insurance indicating that after receiving that letter i must call them otherwise they would close the case. I have phoned many many times since then and have left several messages, but i have yet to speak to anyone. Recently, i received another notice from another agent of Titan insurance indicating the same thing. I called today june 6th of 2008 and hold on the phone for 11 minutes and no one spoke to me or anything. I was on hold. Anyway, I would like to speak to someone who is in charge, this is completely unacceptable.
Your experience with Titan insurance is the same with what happened to my daughter in San Diego. I'm hiring an attorney to mitigate my claim. This insurance is not proactive in answering phone calls and closing open claims for the victim of the accident. My daughter was injured and her car was total wrecked. The insured Titan car was at fault because it hit my daughter's car at the back and subsequently hit another car in front. This Titan insurance should close their business. There's no way this insurance operates like they are not human beings.
Billing errors!
The customer service at Titan Auto Insurance is unbelievable. I received an erroneous bill for over $300 and when I called Titan to get it straightened out they told me they were upping my monthly payments because they had failed to accurately check my driving record. (Even though I had given them my license number and been completely honest about every ticket and violation). They refused to lower the payments, so I discontinued my business with them. A week later they sent me a refund check for $150. Nice, right?
2 weeks later, I received a bill for almost $400! If I don't pay it, they're sending me to collections. Every time I call Customer Service to try to straighten this out, I get put on hold for 20+ minutes and then I get hung up on. On one particular day, I got hung up on 3 times by 3 different reps!
They must have a quota for how many customers they can be rude to in a 24 hour period. Unbelievable!
I recived a notice from a collection agent stating I owe TITAN money yet my bank statement shows they where payed in full it is disappointing to think companies can act this way towards the people that pay their wages. I am also removeing my motorcycle from their policies I would rather pay more than put up with this kind of customer disrespect
They are ###s, I worked for them for 2. 5 years and they treat their good employees like ###, while the troublemakers are praised and kept. I was fired because I blew the whistle on the office bullies...Nice group, huh...My advice take any other insurance offered to you, do not write any business with Titan, don't even let them put you through another company they may write through, because they will still treat you like ###. They don't want to do any followup or customer service, they simply want your money and for you to keep your mouth shut. They are the worst corporate company in America...
I have this insurance company too and the customer service is beyond horrible, I called my agent and left him numerous messages for a quote and nothing...Just yesterday I received a letter in the mail stating that i owe them $114 since my last payment was 2/5/09 when it was actually on the 18th ! they are trying to screw me for overdue fees and other things I dont recommend it to anyone im cancelling my policy with them asap. p.s. The other guy is right my agent knew that i hadnt had prior insurance with anyone else and he didnt disclose that you pay 10% of your remaining premium.Instead he lied to me and said if I cancel with them I will have to pay everything in full. They're ###ed.
I agree that this company can be shady. They dont disclose the fact that if you attempt to go with another insurance company, they charge a early closure fee of 10 percent of the premium. Stupid.
Their customer service is not helpfull
Just called Titan to talk about having my rate reduced. Had problems with titan years ago and left to another agency, but went back because need automatic withdrawal and Titan had since added that service. Now back 2 years, service rep on phone absolutely unhelpful with any info regarding having my rate reduced. No accidents or tickets in 10 years. They had just renewed my policy so he said I had to wait 6 months then call back to have my payment plan changed and I could save a whopping $3 per month plus 5%. I then went to Geico online and got quote 60% less than I am currently paying. TITAN is obviously getting more business than they care to keep!

There are always 2 sides to every story/complaint and I feel if you are going to make an inforrmed decision whether to do business with a company you should at the very least have ALL the facts.
A lot of what the person above is saying is true but there are a few things they have left out and hopefully by mistake...
This person did write auto and home insurance with Farm Bureau of Michigan on 10/04/2011. The drivers license forr the first driver was spotless but the second driver had a number of recent issues. This isn't where the problems were and all this inforrmation was known by all parties upfront. The issue came into play when the client answered the eligibility questions...question number 7 asks specifically about accidents in the last 36 months to which the client said there were none and signed their initials confirming the answer was correct. Once the application was signed and the electronic withdrawal was all set up the client left happy. On 10/27/2011 the policy completed the underwriting process which turned up multiple unreported accidents forr driver 1(also happened to be the same driver who answered the questions and initialed the paperwork) which made the client ineligible forr the Farm Bureau standard market. The client was immediately called and told there was a problem but we had forund another company that would accept their less than perfect accident records. The client agreed to go with the new carrier Titan Indemnity Company on 11/03/2011. A down payment was needed of $675.80 and the client agreed to pay and said "have it all ready forr me to sign when I get there". The client agreed knowing that the money was going to be withdrawn from their checking account and provided us with the account numbers so we could process the paperwork and have it ready forr a signature. This was all done at 10:33 AM according the the down payment receipt. The client later called saying they had forund another company that was less premium and they wanted to cancel the Titan policy. We promptly faxed the cancellation forrm to her and she returned it to our office at 1:38 PM according to the fax phone and time stamp at the top of the page. By this time Titan had already started the draw on her account and it could not be stopped as it was already sent electronically to the bank. On 11/04/2011 the client came into the office to cancel the Farm Bureau policies early as she was given until 11/29/2011 to find other coverage. On 11/09/2011 $426.73 was electronically withdrawn from the clients account forr the Farm Bureau policies she had canceled on 11/04/2011. It was unforrtunate that the money was taken from her account but there was no way to stop it as the requests are sent to the banks about a week in advance. This is the reason clients are told it takes 30 days to stop an electronic withdrawal. The amount of $264.71 was returned to the client in the forrm of a check and the balance of the draw was used to pay earned premiums to the company.
This all started with a client being less than truthful on the application and could have been avoided by being honest with the agent right from the beginning. We will never know if she was being deceitful by not disclosing the accidents or if they just simply were forrgotten about. My impression of the clients is that they were both very nice and friendly people when they sat in front of my desk to write their original Farm Bureau policies. I'm sure their complaint above was written without even thinking about what they could have done to prevent these issues and that is why there is always at least 2 sides to every story. I would be curious to see the documents the client claims to have as proof because I don't recall them asking forr copies and I have the originals. The only documents they could have would be the withdrawal from their account and I don't dispute the money was withdrawn from their account. I only dispute the pretense for which she claims the draws were made under.
