My recent Uber ride, which was not only a stressful and unpleasant experience but also involved reckless and dangerous driving behavior from your driver. I have already contacted Uber support twice regarding this issue, but the responses I received were wholly inadequate and failed to address the seriousness of my concerns. Given the nature of the incident and the unhelpful interactions with your support team, l am now escalating this request. During the ride, the driver missed several exits, which not only delayed my arrival time but also caused the fare to increase. More alarmingly, the driver engaged in extremely unsafe driving behaviors. He crossed white lines while changing lanes without signaling, drove recklessly, and even went through red lights twice, endangering my safety and that of other road users. Towards the end of the ride, l attempted to give the driver clear directions to avoid further delays.
However, he refused to listen, missed the final turn, and became visibly agitated when he had to take a longer route as a result. He then started speaking angrily in Spanish, cursing loudly and using disrespectful language, some of which I recognized despite not being fluent in Spanish. His behavior, including shouting "OYEE" at me, was entirely unprofessional, intimidating, and unacceptable. I was traveling with three large suitcases, and the entire ride was unnecessarily
prolonged due to the driver's repeated mistakes, adding to my stress. I was charged extra due to the route errors, and the driver's aggressive driving and behavior made the experience deeply distressing. I felt unsafe throughout the ride, and this situation should have never occurred. When I reached out to Uber support, I was shocked by the lack of resolution offered. Being told that the only action taken was to ensure l wouldn't match with this driver again is insufficient. This response completely
disregards the seriousness of the driver's actions, my safety concerns, and the financial impact of the driver's incompetence. The fact that I had to pay extra for a ride that was delayed by the driver's actions and dangerous driving is unacceptable. This entire experience, from the ride itself to my interactions with customer support, has been highly stressful and disappointing. I do not trust Uber anymore to prioritize the safety and well-being of its riders, and I am dismayed that this matter has not been resolved satisfactorily. I expected a prompt and serious review of this incident and a full refund as compensation for the stress, safety concerns, and inconvenience l experienced during this ride, but none of the customer support workers took this seriously and did not even consider giving me a refund. I will not be using Uber anymore. Shameful.
