Underground Reptiles Disappointing Experience with Underground Reptiles: Blind Baby Turtle Received in Poor Health and Poor Customer Support Response

So, I recently ordered 3 baby Ouachita map turtles from Underground Reptiles as a gift to my kids for Christmas. Unfortunately, when they arrived, one of the turtles seemed to be blind and wasn't eating. It was a real bummer for me and my family as it hasn't even opened its eyes since it got here and is struggling to eat. I even tried searching for feeding tips for blind turtles online but to no avail. The other two turtles that came with it are doing fine though.

I reached out to customer support as soon as I noticed the issue and they promptly asked for pictures of both the habitat and the sad-looking baby turtle. Although, I couldn't wrap my head around why they needed pictures of the habitat since it came already unhealthy. Despite sharing the images repeatedly, they didn't seem to have a better solution. It's like they aren't aware that I ordered 3 'healthy' turtles and not 2 healthy ones and half-dead blind one.

I got in touch with them again today to check what they were planning to do to help this poor creature, and they gave an absurd response on how I should give it some eye drops and time to acclimate. Like for real? Give me a break! The last thing I want to see is this helpless creature suffering, and my Christmas spirit is seriously dampened because of this. I'm really disappointed with their response and hoping they could send me a replacement turtle that is healthy as I frantically try to save this one. A little decency wouldn't hurt, right?

It's frustrating to deal with this whole scenario right before Christmas, like the timing couldn't be any worse. It's really stressful as I'm not sure which of my kids will take pity on the blind one and claim it for their own. I'd have expected a reputable company like Underground Reptiles to do better than this. Nevertheless, I still have my fingers crossed, hoping for the best outcome.

Underground Reptiles Buyer Beware: My Experience with Underground Reptiles and Their Poor Animal Practices

So, I wanna talk about my experience with Underground Reptiles. I got myself a Tegu lizard hybrid that apparently the owner themselves created. Now, this wasn't my first rodeo with Tegus, so I knew something was off when this guy refused to eat and just kinda laid around like a lazy bum. I tried to hit up the UR folks about it, but all I got back were empty reassurances that someone would eventually get back to me. Spoiler alert, nobody ever called.

So, I thought I'd reach out to some local reptile peeps and see if they had any insights. Turns out, they immediately called out UR as a reptile farm that's more interested in making bank than actually caring for their animals. Yeah, these guys have a lot of knowledge and inventory, but they're clearly more interested in selling as much as possible than doing right by their scaly friends. Like, they might say they're all about that healthy reptile life, but their actions say otherwise.

Which, y'know, begs the question: what other corners are they cutting? Once you start down that slippery slope, it's real easy to keep sliding. Anyway, I've made it very clear to UR that they won't be getting any more business from me when it comes to live reptiles. Buyer beware, y'all.

Underground Reptiles Mixed sizes and one death: My Underground Reptiles review

So, I gotta say, I ordered a few Red Eyed tree frogs from Underground Reptiles, and while I ain't the most picky person out there, I gotta call 'em out on some things. First off, the three frogs I got were all sorts of different sizes - one was a li'l baby, one was bigger than that but still small, and the last was a full-grown frog. Now, when I got a call from 'em checking in on how the frogs were doing, I gotta admit that was a nice touch. But I had to be real with 'em - although the frogs were alive, they weren't really moving around much, and there was a pretty big difference in size between the three of 'em.

Fast forward to six days later, and the biggest frog had just gone and died on me. I reached out to Underground Reptiles by email to let 'em know what had happened. They asked me about the setup I had in my tank, so I gave 'em the rundown - bioactive terrarium, live plants, heating mat underneath, gravel layer, dirt layer, moss, and UVb lighting only. I even sent 'em a photo for good measure. And here's where it gets weird - they told me that I shouldn't have a heat mat or a lamp in there, 'cause the frogs don't do so good in the heat. Okay, okay, sure, I get that. But here's the thing - the li'l heat mat I had was only putting out enough heat to dry up the rock layer under the dirt, and the UVb light wasn't even generating any heat at all.

So, long story short, they offered me a discount on another frog and shipping, but I wasn't about to fall for that. Like, seriously, the babies were doing just fine in there, but the one full-grown frog kicks the bucket and my tank is suddenly the problem? Nah, I'm not buying that. I mean, either that frog had something already wrong with it, or it was just plain old. And I ain't about to drop more cash on another frog just to replace one that didn't even last a week.

Underground Reptiles Terrible Experience with Underground Reptiles: Sick Frog and Rude Customer Service

I had a really bad experience with Underground Reptiles (undergroundreptiles.com). I ordered a frog from them for my sweet sixteen birthday, but when it arrived, it was really sick. The poor little guy could hardly move, and he died the next day. It was so sad to see him suffer like that.

When I called Underground Reptiles to complain, I spoke to a manager named Ryan. He was really rude to me and blamed me for the frog's death. He said that I had killed it by using a heat lamp when it was only 60 degrees out. I was really upset and couldn't believe he was treating me this way.

Ryan yelled at me and made me cry. He even hung up on me in the middle of our conversation. He didn't care that I was upset about the frog's death or that I was just a young girl. He only cared about protecting his business.

The worst part was that Underground Reptiles refused to take responsibility for the frog's death. They claimed that he was just a "stagnant frog" who didn't need to move or eat. But I know that's not true. I watched him all day and all night, and he never moved or ate anything.

I was so upset and traumatized by this experience. It's not right for a business to treat their customers this way or to mistreat their animals. I wish I had never ordered from Underground Reptiles, and I hope that nobody else has to go through what I did.

Underground Reptiles Disappointing Experience with Underground Reptiles' Camel Spider Order

Me and my man were searching high and low for a camel spider to add to our animal fam lately. And, whaddya know, we ended up ordering one from Underground Reptiles! We put in the order on 4/7/2021-4/8/2021 and we were excited as heck. So, when we got the package on 4/10/2021, we tore right into it. BUT, the spider inside was not alive and kickin' like we hoped. Instead, it was stiff as a board and seemed deader than dead. We had both done our research on dromopodas (that's what camel spiders are called, yo!), with me studying for a few months and my man straight up growing up learnin' about 'em. We knew something wasn't right when our lil' guy arrived all stiff and unmovin'. Normally, they supposed to be hyper and scurryin' all around their new digs.

We set up the spider's sandy home with a rock for shade and a lamp to keep it toasty. And sure enough, after we put it by the heat light, it finally started twitchin' again. We hoped that maybe it'd be back to its old self by the next day and left it alone. The spider already chowed down before it was shipped to us, so we figured it didn't need any crickets to snack on right away. But, when my man checked on our new pet the next day, he was still in the exact same spot as the day before. Super frustrating! We emailed the company ASAP to let 'em know the situation, but we haven't heard back from them yet. Not cool, man.

Honestly, we were bummed out with how our spider arrived and we're not gonna chance it with this website again. Next time, we'll hit up a local pet store where we can see the animal in person before committing.

Underground Reptiles Mixed Experience with Underground Reptiles: A Heartbreaking Loss and Ongoing Tick Troubles

I gotta tell ya, Underground Reptiles was a mixed bag for me. I remember getting my first snake from them about a year ago. I was so excited, but also pretty inexperienced to be honest. Everything seemed cool at first - this little ball python they sent me was downright friendly, and I was loving it. But then I noticed something odd in the corner of the cage.

"Yo, what's that?" I thought.

Turned out it was a pinky mouse that had been regurgitated. I didn't know that at the time, though - I just thought it was some weird snake poop. Now I know better, but back then I was clueless. Looking back on it, there were probably a few red flags. Like, the mouse should have been all misshapen and stuff if it had been going through the proper digestive process, but it looked fine. Maybe it had just been fed right before the snake was sent to me.

Anyway, the snake seemed fine for a little while longer. I was handling it a bunch, which I guess people say you're not supposed to do right away, but whatever. And the snake was pooping pretty much anytime I picked it up, but it always seemed super watery to me. I didn't think much of it, though.

About a week later, I tried to feed the snake a thawed pinky. It wouldn't take it, which seemed weird to me because a baby snake that age should want to eat, right? So I left it in a feeding tub for like a half hour and hoped for the best. When I came back, I found the snake in a pretty bad state. Like, it couldn't really move right and it was breathing super shallowly. I freaked out and tried to help it, but it was no use. The snake died in my hands.

I was so heartbroken over that little ball python. I'd been so excited to get a pet and I didn't really know what I was doing, but I was trying my best. Looking back on it, I don't think Underground Reptiles should have fed the snake right before it was sent to me. That just seems like a recipe for disaster. My dad called them up and told them what happened, and they gave us a discount on shipping or something. But, like, seriously?

Anyway, a few days later I decided to try again. I got another snake - this time a little corn snake named Mocha. And everything seemed cool at first. But lately I've been finding ticks on Mocha pretty much every day. It's a bit of a bummer, because I don't really want my pet to be covered in bugs all the time, you know?

The one thing I will say is that customer service at Underground Reptiles is pretty good. The lady on the phone was nice and all. But when I think about how my first snake died, it just breaks my heart.

Underground Reptiles A Snake Lover's Review of Underground Reptiles - Impressive Selection, but Beware the Permit Requirements

So, I gotta say, I was pretty stoked to get my hands on a diamondback rattlesnake from Underground Reptiles. I mean, I already own 5.3 pythons and 2 venomous snakes, so I know my way around a scaly friend or two. But here's the thing - I totally missed the fine print that said I needed a permit to own a snake. Like, what the heck? Why isn't that info front and center on the website?

Anyway, I don't blame the folks at Underground Reptiles for my mistake. They were super professional and helpful throughout the ordering process. The only problem is now I'm stuck with a bunch of expensive snake gear and no snake to put in it.

I gotta admit, though, the whole permit thing is kind of confusing. I live in Oregon, and apparently you can't even buy a permit for a rattlesnake here anymore. But at the same time, nowhere does it say that it's illegal to own one. I'm so confused!

Still, even though I'm pretty bummed about the whole situation, I have to give props to Underground Reptiles for being on top of their game. Their website is really well-designed, and if you pay close enough attention, they do mention the whole permit thing. Plus, their selection is seriously impressive.

I just wish that the state of Oregon wasn't so dang confusing when it comes to snake ownership. Like, seriously, who came up with these laws? I swear, I'm half-tempted to move to Florida just so I can avoid all the red tape.

Anyway, long story short - if you're thinking of buying a snake from Underground Reptiles, do yourself a favor and double-check all the legal stuff. It's a pain in the butt, but it'll save you a lot of hassle in the long run. And be sure to give these guys your business - they really know their stuff when it comes to reptiles.

Underground Reptiles Beware of Buying Wild Caught Reptiles from Underground Reptiles: My Russian Tortoise Experience

Yo, if you're thinking about buying a reptile from Underground Reptiles, make sure you read the description first! I learned this the hard way when I bought a Russian tortoise from them and didn't realize it was a wild caught one. Let me tell you, these guys are NOT fit for indoor homes. That's probably why some of them die soon after being bought. They're used to living in the wild and moving them to an indoor setting can be super traumatic for them. Plus, they tend to be scared of us humans. I've had my tortoise for about 9 months now, but even though we've spent a lot of time together, he still scratches me when I hold him and tries to run away if I touch him.

When I first got him, two of his nails were missing on his back foot and his other foot was all swollen. I thought maybe he hurt himself in the packaging while being shipped, but I couldn't find any broken nail bits. How come they sent me an injured tortoise? It took him a whole week to start eating because he was so stressed out from the trip. Luckily, he survived, but he was still pretty stressed out for a while after that. He even fell asleep in the middle of winter and didn't wake up until after 14 weeks! When he finally did wake up, he still hated his new home.

I tried my best to make him more comfortable by making his space bigger, but he's still not satisfied. He's always trying to climb out and escape. Unfortunately, I live in a place where it's too cold for him to go outside until the end of spring, so there's no way to make him happy. He'd much rather live in the great outdoors like other wild tortoises. It'll take years to make him adjust to living indoors and that's just not fair to him.

If you're gonna buy a reptile, I suggest you stick to ones that were raised the way you plan to keep them, from the day they were born. Underground Reptiles doesn't offer much support or advice for wild caught animals like mine and they're super secretive about how they treated him before shipping him out. It took me four whole emails just to find out what they'd been feeding him! If you're able to give your pet enough space to roam around and be wild, then Underground Reptiles might be okay. But if you want a pet that you can keep indoors every once in a while, I wouldn't recommend it.

Underground Reptiles Unhealthy Toads and Unreliable Customer Service - My Experience with Underground Reptiles

So, let me tell you about my experience with Underground Reptiles. I am a huge lover of toads and saw that they had some small toads for sale. I was a little hesitant about ordering live animals online, but I decided to take a chance and placed an order for three of them. And you know what? They arrived in great condition! They were healthy, hopping around, and eating like champs. I was so happy with my purchase that I even sent them an email thanking them for their great service.

But then, I decided that I wanted to start breeding these toads, so I decided to order three more for myself as a birthday present. And this is where my experience turned into a disaster. The toads arrived a little lethargic, not really moving around too much, and one was even puffy/bloated. I didn't think too much of it since I know that toads can become bloated if they feel threatened. But then, the next morning, I found that two of them were gigantically bloated and one was already dead. I was devastated. Out of the three I ordered, one had died within 24 hours, and the other two were in a seriously bad way.

I immediately reached out to Underground Reptiles with photos of the sick toads and explained that I take good care of my animals, changing their water daily and handling them with gloves sprayed with dechlorinated water. I was shocked and appalled when they blamed me, saying that my use of a heating lamp had caused a bacterial infection that led to the bloating. But here's the thing – I don't even use a heating lamp! I use a regular 60-watt light bulb that is positioned over their tank so I can see inside when needed. A heating lamp wouldn't cause excessive fluid from a bacterial infection – that doesn't even make sense!

The associate offered me discounted shipping and new toads to replace the ones that had died or gotten sick. But when I asked how much it would cost, I didn't hear back from them – not a single response. I understand that things happen, but they sold me some seriously sick amphibians and now I'm paying for it – both financially and emotionally. One of the toads had died, and I'm left with massive vet bills for the other two. And who even knows what they might have brought into my home? I'm sanitizing everything in sight and praying that it didn't spread to my other animals.

I wish I had listened to the other reviews and not ordered from Underground Reptiles. I'm out $65 for the toads that died or got sick, and I'm possibly looking at another $200 for vet bills. It's just not fair.

Underground Reptiles Terrible Experience with Underground Reptiles: Do Not Recommend

So, I gotta be honest with you guys, my experience with Underground Reptiles was absolutely terrible. Like, I cannot believe the amount of hassle I went through just to try and buy a marmoset off their website. I mean, I shelled out close to $5000 and didn't even get the animal I paid for...it's honestly ridiculous.

So, here's what happened. I ordered my marmoset on March 15th and paid in full, thinking everything was gonna be a-okay. But when I got the receipt, it only said that my delivery would be the next day - no instructions at all on which airport or what time or anything. Of course, I was pretty confused, so I called the store to ask for more details. And what did they tell me? "Oh, we don't suggest buying off our website." What kind of BS is that?! If you don't want people to buy from your website, then maybe you should take it down?

Anyway, I was super annoyed, but I tried to keep my cool and ask when they were supposed to get more marmosets in stock. And what did they tell me then? "We don't know, it might be a few weeks." A FEW WEEKS?! After I'd already paid that much money?! I was not having it. So, I asked to speak to the manager, but of course, they gave me the runaround and said he wasn't there. After THREE DAYS of trying to get in touch with someone, I finally threatened to report them and magically, the manager was suddenly available to talk to me.

And honestly, even when I did talk to the manager, Austin, he wasn't exactly helpful. He said they'd have more marmosets in two weeks, but then I never heard from him again. I had to email him today just to get an update on my order and what was going on with my money. It's now been weeks and I still haven't gotten any kind of update, let alone my animal or my money back.

Overall, I really would not recommend this place to anyone. The communication is terrible, the website is confusing, and the staff just seem disorganized. Don't waste your time or money here.

Underground Reptiles Terrible Customer Service: Our Experience with Underground Reptiles

So, my boy saved all his allowance for ages to buy himself a couple of red-eyed tree frogs from Underground Reptiles. When they arrived, they were alive, as they claim, but unfortunately, they weren't in good health. As rudimentary amateur pet owners, we followed their instructions after realizing the frogs were not doing well. The response we got from their customer support was beyond ridiculous, they gave us the runaround and treated us like we were a complete bother. To make matters worse, we weren't able to speak to anyone higher up in the chain to address our problem. It's clear underground reptiles doesn't give a hoot about how they treat their customers.

We forked over nearly 100 bucks, but they only offered us one red-eye tree frog for gratis, and the other one was at a wholesale rate. Still, they had the nerve to expect us to pay shipping for the new ones, to top it all off. If we didn't want to deal with the headache, we could get a measly 25 dollars in credit. Are they kidding me?

Instead of owning up to their mistake, they told us that amphibians are delicate creatures and what happened was beyond their control. If you're planning on buying a pet, please learn from our godawful experience and look elsewhere. Trust us, do NOT buy anything from undergroundreptiles.com.

Underground Reptiles Disappointed with my Underground Reptiles Order: Delayed delivery, out of stock items, and poor customer service (120 characters)

Wow, lemme tell you 'bout my experience with these guys at Underground Reptiles. So, I was really stoked 'cause they had these axolotls that were way cheaper than any other place I could find. Plus, they let me choose when I wanted them delivered, which was pretty sweet. But then, they went and messed up my order by delaying it a whole day! I mean, it wasn't that big of a deal, but I had to take off work 'cause I was told they were gonna come at any time that day.

So, I had ordered two axolotls on a Monday and picked Thursday for delivery. But when they finally arrived, one of 'em was totally out of stock! Now, I get it, it happens, but I bought these babies almost a week in advance and it seems like they could've at least set one aside for me, you know? And then they asked if I wanted a different breed for the second one, but even that was out of stock! So, I asked for a refund and it's been way too long and I still haven't received it.

On top of all that, the customer service reps were short and not very helpful. Honestly, I'd say it's worth paying more for a better shipping, handling, and overall service. I might've saved some money, but it wasn't worth all the hassle.

Underground Reptiles Buyer Beware: My Experience with Underground Reptiles - Aggressive Baby Iguana Turns Out to Be a Handful

So, my daughter got a little too excited and decided to buy a baby iguana blue axanthic from Underground Reptiles. I mean, who wouldn't want a cute little companion to hang out with? But let me tell you, this little guy turned out to be a bit of a handful.

He's huge, and to be honest, quite aggressive. Despite spending close to 400 bucks on supplies and a terrarium, this iguana is still turning black and refusing to let anyone come anywhere near him. It's been two weeks since we got him and my daughter, who is autistic and did a ton of research on how to be a good iguana owner, cries every day because she can't even touch him or feed him without getting bitten.

Honestly, the way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if this little guy is two or three years old and was either never handled or was caught wild. I reached out to Underground Reptiles, and all they wanted was a picture of his habitat and the temperature. But guess what? His habitat and temperature are perfectly fine, and it's the iguana's aggression that's the problem here.

I was really hoping that Underground Reptiles would have been helpful and suggested some ways that we could ease the iguana into our family, but all they did was give us a generic response. So if you're thinking of buying a reptile from these guys, think again. They might try to act like they care, but when it comes down to it, they don't have a clue.

If you're still thinking of getting a reptile (and trust me, they do make great companions), just be careful and make sure you get one from a reputable source. And maybe wait until you're a little more experienced before diving into the deep end with an iguana.

Underground Reptiles Underground Reptiles Review: Poor Customer Service and Inadequate Compensation for Sick Scorpions

So, I recently purchased three emperor scorpions from Underground Reptiles and received them just last week on Tuesday. I always make sure to document the unboxing process, and this time was no different - except for the fact that two of the scorpions were completely unresponsive and the third barely moved at all.

I was pleasantly surprised when I received a call from Underground Reptiles the next day, just to check in and make sure everything was okay. I explained the situation and was sent an issue form to fill out. Unfortunately, when I called back the next day, the form hadn't been received. This happened again when I filled it out a second time.

To their credit, Underground Reptiles did send me an email requesting video and pictures of the scorpions. However, I didn't hear back from them for an entire weekend and had to call again myself. This time, I was offered a solution - a replacement scorpion for 50% off, as well as reduced shipping for $30.

To put it plainly, I was not pleased. $55 for a replacement scorpion to make up for two that I received in poor condition? That just doesn't cut it for me. I have no plans to do business with Underground Reptiles again, no matter how much I may want some of the other scorpions and snakes they have for sale. I definitely wouldn't recommend them to anyone either - in my experience, they were the worst shop I've ever dealt with.

Underground Reptiles Disappointing Experience with Underground Reptiles - A Review

Hey there Rian Gittman,

Just wanted to drop a line and share my thoughts on my experience with Underground Reptiles (undergroundreptiles.com). So, I bought a uromastyx from you guys back in November, but sadly the lil' guy only lasted a month. I noticed a change in behavior pretty quickly, so I reached out to your company for help. The response I got was to soak the uromastyx in water 'cause it was "constipated". But, tbh, I knew there was something more going on than just that.

The guy I spoke to said I could get a "discount" 'cause of the lost pet, but I wasn't really feeling that - I mean, my pet had passed away! So, I decided to give the company another chance and made a second purchase with the option to pick it up at a facility.

When I got to said facility...there was no package for me to pick up. Later, I found out from one of your employees that the item was "out of stock". But, I mean, why didn't anyone contact me beforehand to give me the heads up? Like, come on, guys! And what's worse, over the following days, I kept checking the stock and it said there were still items available. Not cool, not cool at all.

Needless to say, I'm pretty disappointed with the way things went down. I don't think I'll be doing business with Underground Reptiles again and it's sad 'cause I was looking forward to more experiences with the company. But, at least the refund happened relatively smoothly and quickly.

So, yeah, that's my two cents. Thanks for listening and take care.

Underground Reptiles Terrible Customer Service Experience with Underground Reptiles for Scorpion Purchase

So here's the deal. I got my scorpions from Underground Reptiles, and let's just say things did not go as planned. One of those babies was flipped over in its case and looked deader than dead. The other one was barely moving and looked like it might join the first one any minute now. Naturally, I reached out to customer service. And what did I get? A request for pictures of the damn scorpions. Like, come on! They were clearly not doing well to begin with.

So I sent in the pictures like a good little customer, thinking maybe Underground Reptiles would hook me up with some healthy replacements or a fat refund for the trouble. But nooo. Then they wanted pictures of my tank setup. What?! That's just freaking ridiculous. I know how to take care of scorpions, okay? These little guys came all messed up from the get-go.

And then, to add insult to injury, they kept asking for more and more pictures of my setup so they could pin the deaths of the poor little guys on me. Like I'm some kind of scorpion murderer or something. Excuse me? I asked for my money back, but all they could talk about was the damn pictures.

Listen, I've bought scorpions from other sites and they're still alive and kickin'. This was hands down the worst customer service experience I've ever had. Thanks for not answering my phone calls and taking forever to respond to my emails, Underground Reptiles. You lost a customer for good.

Underground Reptiles Underground Reptiles Review: Dead Snake & Poor Service

So, I got my order from Underground Reptiles last week. Ordered a slick-looking snake on Friday and chipped in an extra 20 clams for delivery on a Saturday. But you know what? FedEx messed things up, and that's why I'm only coughing up two stars for this review (otherwise it would have been straight zeroes, man). Apparently the snake had to make a journey all the way from another state and it got stuck over in Memphis... I don't even know where that is, but it sounds like a real trouble spot. By the time the slithery dude showed up at the FedEx office on Saturday afternoon, it was already too late to haul him back to my place. So I ended up waiting until Monday just to get my hands on the sorry guy. But that wasn't even the worst part. When I cracked open the box, the smell nearly choked me out. Turns out my new pet was already as stiff as a board. It was so gnarly I even saw a couple of gnats buzzing around its lifeless body, like they were ready to set up a little buzzard party. It's a total bummer because it was actually a pretty good-looking reticulated python. Now I'm just hoping the company will take responsibility and do something about it. I've already made three calls to them today, but it doesn't seem like they're in any rush to hook me up with a new snake or find a way to deliver one that's not dead. Plus, you wouldn't believe how much time I've invested in this already - driving over 30 minutes just to get to the FedEx joint, then another 30 minutes back without so much as a slinky to show for it. And to add insult to injury, I've also asked for a refund of the extra 20 bucks I forked over for Saturday delivery and haven't heard a peep back on that, either. So all in all, not the best experience I've ever had, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone who doesn't want to end up with a buzzard buffet on their front porch.

Underground Reptiles Underground Reptiles Review: Paid for 1-Day Shipping and Got No Axolotl, Customer Service a Joke

Man, let me tell y'all about my experience with Underground Reptiles. I was seriously stoked to order an Axolotl and paid $45 for 1-day shipping on August 17th, with a delivery date of the 20th. But guess what? That day came and went and I didn't receive my little dude. I called them up and they told me they were out of stock when I had already bought and paid for it! They promised they'd have some in stock by the beginning of the next week so I was like, ok, I'll wait.

But then the next week arrives and I called them up on a Wednesday to ask where my Axolotl is at. And wouldn't you know it? They're still out of stock! They said they'd have some in by the end of that week or the beginning of the next, so I try to hold on. Today, it's August 31st and I called them up again, asking where my Axolotl is at. They offered me a refund, but only minus 15%, or store credit, or to wait even longer to get my little buddy. I tried arguing with them, but no dice.

This is some ridiculousness right here, y'all. I think it should be illegal for a business to do this kind of thing. It's like they take your money and then forget about you. So now I'm still waiting for my Axolotl. Smh.

Underground Reptiles Disappointing Experience with Underground Reptiles: Baby Asian Water Monitor Lizard Dies after Refusing to Eat

So, I basically bought a baby Asian Water Monitor lizard as a X-mas present for my nephew. Ordered it from the Underground Reptiles' website on December 5th, 2020, and it arrived three days after looking kind of alright. As a responsible pet owner, I offered it various types of food, but to my frustration, it refused to eat anything.

After a few days, I reached out to their customer service to let them know about the situation. They advised me to open a support ticket, and I did as directed. However, I ended up exchanging multiple emails with their representatives, sending pictures, but they didn't provide me with any actual solution. All they suggested was to feed the creature with insects, rodents, etc., which I'd already attempted numerous times before.

On their website, it mentioned that the monitor was devouring crickets and silversides, but that was not the case for me. As the days went by, the monitor's health deteriorated, and unfortunately, it died on January 3rd, 2021, barely even a month after it arrived.

I was profoundly disappointed with the entire experience, and it's sad to say, my first experience with Underground Reptiles will probably be the last. I won't be returning and won't be recommending them to anyone. It was a big letdown, and now I feel bad that I ruined my nephew's X-mas present.

Underground Reptiles Mixed Experience with Underground Reptiles: Disappointing Deliveries, Confusing Policies

So, I recently made my first order on Underground Reptiles, and I was excited to finally get my hands on some exotic animals! However, things didn't quite go as planned with my order. To start with, my order was missing the frogs I had purchased, which was frustrating. But the real kicker was that the chameleon I had ordered was smaller than what I had paid for. I had ordered the larger and more expensive one, but received the smaller version instead. I requested a credit memo, but never received one.

I reached out to their customer service team, and while they were helpful, I soon discovered that there was apparently a difference between their wholesale website and retail. Since I was a wholesale customer, I wasn't informed that the product I had refused on the retail site couldn't be credited back to my wholesale account. This created quite a mess, and I was definitely not happy about it.

After some back and forth, they finally helped me with my credit. But the issues didn't end there. When I ordered off the retail site just to use up my credit, my order was wrong again! I had ordered a pair of Jackson's chameleons and a pair of flapneck chameleons, but received only one Jackson and a baby Jackson, which was priced differently. I was also charged for the larger of the two. As for the flapnecks, I received two of them, but they were only 4 inches in size. I had expected them to be at least 6-10 inches, which was a bit of a let down.

Overall, my experience with Underground Reptiles wasn't great. I understand that mistakes happen, but the lack of communication and confusion between their retail and wholesale sites made things more difficult than they needed to be. The fact that I couldn't use my credit on the wholesale side was also frustrating. While I appreciate their efforts to correct the issues, I'm not sure if I'll be ordering from them again in the future.
