Someone, who doesn't speak very good English, called to speak to someone from my phone number
Someone, who doesn't speak very good English, called to speak to someone from my phone number. They couldn't pronounce my name, and refused to give me the name of their company. When I refused to identify myself they hung up the phone. I called right back to see who this company was. A man answered but refused to give me the name of the company, saying I might be a scammer. Why would I call your company as a scammer? They barely can speak English, and were trying to get me to confirm whatever they were trying to do. I am not confirming any delinquent accounts because I don't have any.
I paid off my balance with Unifin in the amount of $675.12 on 3/31
I paid off my balance with Unifin in the amount of $675.12 on 3/31. The funds were debited from my account on 3/31. I verified this with my ***. I called Unifin back on 6/3 to see why the balance is still showing outstanding. They told me that the payment of $675.12 did not clear. I see the payment as cleared in my bank app on 3/31 to Unifin in the amount of $675.12. I called the *** and they also confirmed that the payment was in fact made to Unifin. So now Unifin is telling me I need to dispute the issue via a *** machine. They received my money as per the agreement I had with them. This is bad business practice.
UNIFIN is illegally seeking to collect on expired *** the result of the [protected] recession in both commercial and residential real estate mortgage backed securities. The Statute of Limitations on this "debt paper" is 4 years in ***. If you live in the former slave states there may be no statute of limitations. The fact that UNIFIN is seeking to collect in ***, in full knowledge that nothing is legally owed, is nothing other than fraud. The *** should shut them down and send me a check for $10,000 as a whistleblower. The contemptible s*** in South Carolina who sold my "debt paper" to UNIFIN is yet another fraudster who tried for 3 years to collect - in full knowledge he bought it 3 years past the statute of limitations. He called me once and I spoke with him to see what kind of low life con man he was. He claimed he was a *** too, as proof he's an unrepentant immoral con man. The "debt paper" keeps being resold to progressively worse collection agencies. UNIFIN is perhaps the 4th fool to buy the debt paper. A business associate of mine used to buy portfolios of credit card debt for no more than 3 cents on the dollar owed. I've read too many stories about victims who fell for the scam. Don't be one of them! These unwitting victims actually paid their debt in good faith but the scammer damaged their credit again as the debt paper was sold to yet another scam operator who promised to clean their credit. My credit score is back above 810. If you ever want to learn more about financial fraud watch the movie "The Big Short."
They are hateful. Rude, trying to make give they my bank information. Will not accept check. Which they paper said accepted check.
They are a scam. No ONE should call you asking for your personal information to verify your identity. They called me and immediately asked if I could verify my social security number to see if they were speaking to the right person. First of all, trust me NO ONE is going to pay anyone else's debts willingly. So, there is zero reason to ask for a person's social security number other than to try to steal their identity. No one at this company could tell me which debt they were attempting to collect. Ironically enough, I just paid off all of my collections and debts in May so I know for a fact who I currently owe. I only owe student loans and am not in collections. This business needs to stop unsavory practices and I believe they are a front for identity theft.
I received an email from Unifin claiming I owed money to a company. Email sent to an incorrect name regarding an account that I have never had. Checked Unifin online and they are obviously a SCAM oriented operation.WARNING to everyone Unifin is NOT a legitimate company and completely misrepresents things to make you believe you must pay them. DO NOT respond to this fraudulent operation.
If I could give a zero rating, I would
If I could give a zero rating, I would. I called this company wondering what the heck this notice was for since I didn't recall this problem. A female with a heavy accent answered a few questions and believe me I had a lot more. It was a MasterCard from 2008 and was wondering if I was going to pay this debt. I told her I want the name and telephone # of the creditor who request them to collect this $$. She said they probably wouldn't have my name and any information on file as they gave everything to them to collect. I requested this again and she said to call back when I'm ready to pay then hung up. Very, very rude. This looks like a scam if I ever saw one.
Did a payment plan online and negotiated for less. Balance was 678. Paid 475. Waited a month for it to come off my credit report. Nothing. Disputed on ***. Called them, spoke with a women who said I still owe $203. I was livid. I had the letter for the payment schedule but then realized I had lost it when I moved. All I had was proof in a screenshot. Realizing I wasnt going to get anywhere with them, I paid the remaining 203. Very sketchy.
My dad got a call from them looking for me I called them back and the said I owe verzion which I do they said they had a deal to make with me I could pay 800 something dollars and it would be paid in full was supposed to get an email in *** any email from them for that matter! I feel like it was a complete scam!
My complaint is similar to many that I am reading here. I received a bogus past due account notice also mentioning *** DBA *** and ***. Claimed that I owe $2254.33 with a 'charge-off' date of 1/2. They were so kind (not) to offer a one-time settlement payment of $1352.60. The document is signed by ***.
If I could give zero stars, or negative stars, I would... but at least one star is required. I believe this company is a complete scam, especially after reading all of the reviews. I received an email today from Unifin stating "Second Notice" (I never received a "First Notice") and that I owe *** almost $4,000 ! and that this is an old debt. I do not owe *** any money and have always been in good standing with my *** account. The email threatens to report this "debt" to credit reporting agencies. I was going to call and advise them I do not, nor have I ever, owed *** any money for my *** account. However after reading the Complaintsboard.com reviews for this company, I will not reach out to them as I do not want to start the chain of inevitable harassment as discussed in the reviews I've read on this site. Hopefully, they will not report my "debt" to credit reporting agencies, as that undoubtedly will be a huge mess to untangle just to prove my innocence. Stay away from Unifin.
I receive 7 back to back missed calls from this business in their attempt to collect debt
I receive 7 back to back missed calls from this business in their attempt to collect debt. They never leave voicemails (at least identifying who the company is). I called to get info on the business and their employees were extremely rude. I told one agent I wanted the info on the business so I could file a complaint and he said "that's fine, you can do whatever you want" and hung up. Then called back and another agent answered. Told her 4-5 times I wanted to speak with a supervisor before she stopped talking about the debt and then asked if I wanted to speak with a supervisor or continue talking to her, to which I obviously explained I wanted to be transferred. Waited 5 minutes on hold and no one ever answered...
Paid the settlement agreement with this company and still waiting on email receipt. Have called 3 times and get the same story every time..will receive one in 24 to 48 hrs..., still nothing. Now I am going to file theft charges, since they took my money, and didn't send the paperwork as agreed. Sending paperwork saying it will pay the account in full and then not honoring the agreement is theft.
I have been continuously harassed by this company. They call nonstop. They will not divulge any information about themselves until you give them yours. Hesitantly, I identified myself because I wanted the calls to stop. They were calling to collect a debt on an old ***. When I told them that I need proof that I owe anything, they stated it was sent back in 2017. I stated I never received it and would like another copy. The supervisor "***" became irate and asked if I am refusing to pay the ***. I stated I don't owe anything and again asked if she could provide proof. She starting over talking me and stated so you are refusing to make payment. I will make a note on the file and hung up on me. They are *** and ***!
Look, I'm not going to sugar coat anything here - they are a collection agency trying to get you to pay your debt that you agreed to with the initial company. I've been working with them for a few years and I haven't had any problems with them. My only complaint is that whenever you log onto their website a chat box pops up with an agent asking how they can help you - yes that is nice; however, when you close the chat box another one just pops up with a different agent or sometimes the same one asking how they can help you again. It is non-stop, you try to review your information and it is annoying to have that chat box pop up over and over. Even when you click to a different page another chat box pops up. It is almost to the point where I don't even want to use their website to review my information. I know I have a collection and I have an auto payment come out every two weeks or so - but come on. That chat box doesn't need to be continuous. Other than that - they have been great to work with. Just that *** chat box! "

They do not deserve any stars at all!
They do not deserve any stars at all! But unfortunately, I had to mark at least one to leave a review. I called and told them I was recording the call and they said that is not legal because they do not give permission, then hung up. I called back to find out what the charge was for and they just kept saying that there is a discounted offer, otherwise the full amount would be attached to my social security number on a credit report. When I said I don't know what the charge is, he simply said I was hoping to get you to take advantage of the offer, I guess not...then hung up! SCAM? Probably! Afterwards, I tried to get online on the [protected]@ unifinrs.com which they provided in the letter, I was denied access. DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY!

just received a call from Unifin
just received a call from Unifin. From, Miss Samantha, who was rude and short in respect to the purpose of the call. She stated I had a debt from 2003, its 2020, I've bought multiple houses and autos since 2003 and credit has never been an issue. She stated the call would be recorded. She did have my SSN last four, so I rode the call out. I asked for the company name, her name, which was given. I told her I was going to research the company before I just gave someone money over the phone. She then got short and rude and said "..ill make a note stating you don't intend to pay" and hung up. She spoke with a heavy accident, was generally hostile and had noise in the background, she became even more angry when I said I was hearing impaired and needed to speak to someone with less of an accident and less background noise.
Can I do zero stars?
Can I do zero stars? They call my cellphone looking for my mother. They refuse to state who they are and what they are calling regarding. However, they want YOU to confirm you name, address, and soc. number, which they gladly read off to you. They call continuously from spoof numbers when you tell them wrong number, don't call, or when you're not the person they're looking for and they hang up on you. It took me pretending to be a power of attorney for my mother before they gave me an email to send them proof, which clued me in that it's unifin. More like unfun. Found out they specialize in Verizon debt, well wouldn't you know my mom's only debt in 10 years - a Verizon phone bill we disputed. This was a bill from 7 years ago. This place is shady and want you to confirm your sensitive information before they tell you even what company they're from... why? Because if everyone knew the name of the company, they'd report them for their shady behavior and harassment.

They sent and offer letter for a debt that seems legitimate
They sent and offer letter for a debt that seems legitimate. Accessed their offer website https://uoffer.unifinrs.com and the website refused to honor the settlement offer. I reluctantly decided to call them. Immediately, a recorded voice says someone will be with you asap and does not identify the company. Alvris or something along those lines answered. I informed him that I was also recording the call and requested the name of the company. He refused and said he needed to identify who I was first. Again, I requested the company before I would confirm info and work with them. He started listing off my name, last 4 ssn, and personal information WITHOUT identifying me. I stopped him informing him that he was in violation of the FDCPA. I had to do this twice before he allowed me to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor, James, came online and I informed him that I was recording as well. Immediately, James said "We are trained to disconnect the call if you are recording the call." and hung up. I may be mistaken, but under the FDCPA a collector must identify themselves when dealing with a debtor. They did not. I would need to review the FDCPA, but I'm pretty sure releasing personal information without confirming my identity is in violation as well. At this point, I REFUSE to give any information to this company. I refuse to pay what seems like a legitimate debt due to sketchy, illegal practices observed by Unifin, Inc. At this point my debt with them will remain unresolved, which is a shame. I called prepared to accept their settlement to clear my debt, which is still active.

I received a letter demanding payment from Unifin, a collections agency. I sent the following email to the address provided ([protected]@unifinrs.com) on 6/8 11:40am: "I received a letter attempting to collect $800.54 for J *** LLC, with original creditor listed as P Reference # ***. Please email me debt verification proof immediately." In 15 minutes, Neil B M replied from neil.m***@*** giving me payment options and no other response or proof of debt I requested. I emailed Mr. M back in under a minute: "Please email me debt verification proof immediately. You should be able to do that." No response. I repeated the email 3.5 hours later, adding the original "my account" address. No response. *** (the original debt) has verified that I never owed them a thing. If Unifin agreed to collect this debt, they SURELY have proof that I owe it and they must provide it. This is absolute fraud and they will now try to blame

I keep receiving emails, mail and text messages from Unifin stating I owe money for *** over 15 years ago? I have not had an account with JCP since before that. I would like this to be stricken from any identifying factors to my name or anything related to me.This is a fraudulent claim that needs to be ceased immediately
Settled invoice number *** reference number *** by logging into their website and making an offer which was accepted, I paid and the trade line was removed from credit reports. Not surprisingly this company is back on my credit report today saying I owe them more money. Chatted with someone via the online payment portal who claims I had a payment fail which is a lie since I agreed to two payments which were paid. Never a third anf my bank confirms payment dates and amounts. I want this "debt" cleared and this collection removed from my report.
I have requested a debt validation letter 3 times. Two of these were via their online dispute form and once via a representative over chat. During the chat I was told there was no statute of limitations for debt (wrong), and refused to send me validation of the debt. They stated they were only a collection agency and didn't have that documentation. I took screenshots of the conversation and have those time stamped. I want validation of the debt or discontinuation of collection activities.
Unifin is attempting to collect on a debt that is time barred and well beyond the statue of limitations. No business was ever done with Unifin at any time. Unifin reference #***. The address provided is also not where I live.

And even if which I am not admitting or claiming I do, Statute of Limitations (*** -FDCPA) states in 5 years on debts such as this. And UnderFlorida law, any such debts would be completely uncollectible. *** violated Federal Law in regards to to the Section (809b) AND ( ***b). Which also covers that I have never been given consent to release my privately protected information to be shared with others. I would like to request that this debt is cleared entirely from my creditrecords, and any negative marks related to this, and notified.

I just received an email from them in my spam folder out of the blue and I have never even heard of these guys. I have no account with PayPal either so I don't know why they'd be contacting me when it's been about 4 years since I closed my PayPal account. I have never done business with them either.

I received a notice re: debt collection from a debt I think I had from THE *** from 5/25 of which I had forgotten about
I received a notice re: debt collection from a debt I think I had from THE *** from 5/25 of which I had forgotten about...in the amount of $303.71 ...the other day I received this notice and not sure if it's a real collection agency since this debt is very old (can they collect a debt from 12 years ago?) I called and first negotiated an amount they offered and then asked "Jessica" if I could get further documentation since they did not include the actual bill and evidence I need to confirm that they are for real. She said ok but that could mean that I would not be able to pay back the lowest negotiated amount. I asked her name, she was trying to avoid giving that to me. I persisted and she said Jessica. Then when I asked her her last name she hung up on me. This of course makes me even more skeptical and as I'm writing this I'm wondering if it's even legal to come after me for a debt that's over 12 years old. Please help me resolve this as I do not want to get scammed...Thank you in advance for your help. Yvonne D

This company sent a letter asking for a settlement of a past debt, totaling $8,847.70 or other discounted payment options toward this debt. First of all, I have no knowledge of this debt, and will not be contacting them to discuss it, let alone offer any type of payment arrangement. Secondly, this correspondence was sent to a neighbor, who brought it to me because they thought it was mine. I believe the address used, came from a retail company who sent a catalog to this person's address with my name on it. This puts my neighbor in a position to invade my privacy, by seeing and handling mail that was not theirs. Also, this company uses scare tactics and threatening language to collect debts such as, "If you do not respond within 30 days, it will be assumed this debt is valid". Well, there will be no response from me, except this one, and they should stop trying to get money from people by using random addresses and unfounded information. I am demanded that any and all communication from this company cease regarding this issue.

I was sent an email on 9/6/22 from Unifin, Inc. saying they were trying to contact me about a debt I owed from VIASAT *** $555.93. UNIFIN Ref# *** and Creditor account #***. I have never purchased anything from this company nor have I ever used a service from this company. The spelling of my first name is incorrect also.
Text addressed to no one for debt collection. In the text it said they are a Unifin debt collector and the ref#***. I am not in collection for anything. I do not owe anyone money. If you have an account with my name on it, supply the information so that I can file fraud charges with the appropriate law enforcement agency. Text received on9-21-2022 at *** p.m.

I called them on November 15th to settle a debt received an email saying they would accept the $500 debt settlement when I called back to say I wanted a letter from them saying that they will remove it from the credit report They denied when I then told them I would be recording the call for lawyers And to protect myself they hung up I called back multiple times they blocked my number All I am asking for since reading their reviews and reviews and saying that they do not remove it from credit reports once it's paid all I'm asking for I'm asking for is a letter from them saying they will do it and if they do not I can *** them for the agreement from the letter they refuse no payment will be issued until I have an email or letter stating stating they will remove it plus plus to come to find out that they are a dual collection agency agency so not only will it be unicef but it would be *** and *** I will get the run around about it being taken off credit unacceptable. The reviews are horrible for this company and no payment will be issued until I have an email or letter from both companies both companies stating it will be removed from my credit

Upon review of my credit report, identified a collection from ***. Called the phone number on the collection and received an automated response after entering my social that said "this is being handled by an outside service provider, and to call ***". I called that number and after basically begging the person who answered to tell me what company I have reached, she finally stated she was from Unifin. Overseas third party it seems. The first representative hung up on me when I told her I dont know the account number. I called back and another said she could not validate the debt that my credit report shows is from ***, original creditor from *** Wireless, for $147. I requested a debt validation letter three times during the call. She then decided she located another debt that isnt on my credit report but wouldnt provide details. I again, asked for a debt validation letter for this other debt. She eventually hung up on me. How in the heck am I supposed to get anywhere with this? The debt from *** Wireless was not only an error that had been resolved many years ago, but the timeframe to collect this debt is over. This debt is from 9 years ago.

On Sept 26th, 2021 I made a first payment on a *** in collections I received from Unifin, on behalf of *** I agreed to a 3 payment monthly installment on an agreed upon payoff of the debt of $360.00. I was told that I would get a letter confirming the payments. I NEVER DID. It was only because I remembered the payment dates that I logged back into my account to make the second payment that I saw in the account summary THAT THE FIRST PAYMENT WASN'T EVEN REFLECTED AS PAID. My bank account absolutely shows a payment made towards the company. I was "helped" by support one day before the next payment was due, I was told that I would receive an email and a "request" would be put in for me to get documentation via *** An email was never sent. EMAILS TAKE SECONDS TO MAKE. No change in my account was made. The day the payment was due, I again tried to contact support. I WAS PASSED TO 4 DIFFERENT PEOPLE without even a response from ANYONE. THIS BUSINESS IS ABSOLUTE TRASH. I 100% WANT TO PAY MY DEBT. DO YOU NEVER WANT PEOPLE TO PAY THEIR DEBT? BECAUSE THAT'S HOW PEOPLE DON'T PAY THEIR DEBT. I JUST NEED CONFIRMATION OF THE AGREED PAYMENTS AND TOTAL AMOUNT OWED. It isn't even reflecting in my credit report.

This complaint is in reference to Unifin R# ***.I received a letter stating that I was referred to collections for an account I am not aware of, is currently not on my credit report and allegedly became deliquent 9 years ago.I am disputing this outrageous defamatory, reckless and harrassing claim that has put me under emotional distress.I do not recognize the debt they are referring to and it is outside of the statute of limitations, both State and Federal. I fear that this institution will report a debt that does not belong to me which would damage permanently my high credit score. I am contacting legal counsel and please be advised that if my outstanding credit history and credit score are affected by this company and their abusive letter, I will seek restitution, and compensation for material damages as a result of injury to my credit, will seek compesation for undue stress, pain and suffering, and will further refer this to regulatory agencies to investigate potential FCRA, FDCPA non compliance by this company that is currently harrassing and threatening me with unfounded claims. Please note that not only the claim is false and borderline slanderous but it is predatory in nature as they are atempting to collect *** for an alleged debt of ***.

Talking about I owe some money
Talking about I owe some money. According to the letter they are attempting to collect on a time barred debt. Its past state and federal government collection statutes. States it in the letter. Im no rocket scientist here Im reading complaints on here as well. This company is trying to collect on debts that are time barred and sending letters and making phone calls. Well my complaint is, this was charged off, I actually have the paperwork for it, how did that happen? Bankruptcy I filed, of course they would not have that information because they are trying to collect on old debts that are time barred that they dont have any rights to do so. They are also hiding behind they can do it. Sure you can you can send a letter asking for such payment from a person or peoples who never paid and it was charged off. But if they contact you, you pretty much have to stop contacting them. Me on the other hand, you cannot contact me. Its against the law, I followed the law in my bankruptcy case. I currently in the process of serving this company with a lawsuit. On top of trying to collect on a debt that was charged off in a bankruptcy, my name is also copy written. Cease and desist letter is on the way. A copy of my fee schedule and *** to them for copyright infringement is also on its way. Im taking Legal action on this company *** has many laws against Debit collectors like this.

I recently checked my credit report and it indicated I have a collection from ***. I have not received any notice of this alleged debt. I called *** Systems on June 2 and entered my social security number through the automated system. The automated response was that "my account is being handle by an outside service provider" and to call ***. I spoke to a woman that said I owned $297 from an apparent 5 year old *** wireless bill. She said her company was "Unifin". She said that they have sent collections notices and tried calling, but apparently they did not have my correct address on hand. She said she could not give me more details over the phone. I called the "Unifin" company back today and asked for them to clarify the name of their company but they said that they cannot tell me the name of their company. Unifin is not listed as a registered agent in the state of Oregon. They added collection to my credit report without first contacting me. This is an *** violation. I request that ***/Unifin verify the following information. 1. Full original Account Number 2. Date original Account was opened 3. Any written agreements between myself and the original creditor stating this debt is owed 4. Full account summary and itemized calculation of alleged debt 5. Date of the first delinquency 6. Dates and times of any phone calls made and to what number in attempt to contact me concerning the alleged debt before it was reported to an agency, and so proving that these calls were made in the times governed by *** law. If *** Systems/Unifin is unable to provide the above identifying account information, this account must be deleted from all CRAs.

This company was contracted by *** to collect on a debt originally owned by *** Unifin & I came to a settlement amount of $2669.67. This was in February. On March 13 I obtained a Cashiers check in that amount. It was then mailed to Unifin and delivered on March 19th and deposited on March 20th. It officially cleared the account on March 30th. The first week of April, a call was made to Unifin to get an update as I had not received a receipt nor anything stating this was now settled. They claimed the check bounced and that they shredded the check. How did they shred the check? Even if a cashier check could bounce, how did they get the check back from the bank to allegedly shred it? Cashier checks are prepaid instruments, and unlike a personal check, they do not bounce. Unifin then claimed that they shredded the check. I was baffled by this because if this was sincerely true, they would have called or sent a letter. They had no hesitation in calling or sending a letter when attempting to previously collect a debt. They then told me that since the money never left my account, I should go ahead and just pay with my debit card. After arguing with them for some time and telling them that cashiers checks do NOT bounce, they said they'd investigate and give me a call back. When they called back, they told me they were still investigating. In the mean time I called my bank (*** bank) who told me an attempt had been made on the cashiers check as an ACH debit which resulted in it being declined. My bank then told me the check cleared the account on March 30th and provided me with a written letter and proof. Yet Unifin denies this despite the check being clearly stamped "Unifin for deposit only" ( which *** provided me with a company). To this date, I hace not heard from Unifin. Since all calls are recorded, I encourage you to pull the tapes

I dont know if, Unifininc, is collecting on behalf of CK Prime or if theyre the newest obtainer of this debt. I am filling this a long with a dispute, I filed yesterday for CK Prime. CK Prime is on my credit and still listed as the creditor of this account. I am the victim of ID theft. I dealt directly with the *** and opened a dispute with them. I had made a huge payment to them when my wallet had been stolen. After it was stolen I closed the account. At some point, a *** surfaced. I requested copies of my statements and proof that I actually made the charges. I filed a report with the *** and sent all applicable information to ***. including proof that my *** was connected to a fraudulent Amazon account that was not mine. I have disputed this through the collection agencies on multiple occasions. They denied the disputes and claim it is accurately being reported. Its not accurate information. Im telling you that I dont believe I made the charges and request proof, that I never received including a statement, so I know, what the charges are. I dont care if *** says the information is accurate- they are biased. They never investigated because, even though, I was a victim of ID theft and requested this account to be closed *** allowed someone, who was not myself, to re-open the account- allowing it to be defrauded. I know that because a *** themselves, offered me that information when I called. I was told there was a recorded call and it was a man on the phone obviously, not myself (a female) requesting that the account be reopened, and it was. The Supervisor, went on to tell me that she had made sure our call hadnt been recorded to avoid reprisal and the recording disappearing. She advised me to stand firm against, ***, as it wasnt the first time she had seen this transpire. And, that the phone reps do not care and often give out misinformation and sensitive information without using safeguards.

I was contacted by this company to pay off a debt I had through ***/***. I received a letter in the mail offering an amount to settle the account in full, and I had been working to set back funds to pay off my debt. When I called on January 16 to pay the amount offered in full on my debit card, I asked the gentleman if it would be reported to the credit burea. He replied yes, it would. I asked how long would it be before it was reflected. He said should be reported within 30 days. Here we are, and it has been well over that and I called back to see about it being reported. A girl (I believe she said her name was Corey) stated this account would not be reported after all. If calls are recorded, I asked that someone look through the calls to see about this, as I was misinformed and this is very important to me to build my credit back up. I went through a separation and now have a 1 year old, and I am working toward purchasing a home and have paid my debts off after setting back the money to be able to do so. The fact that someone just informed me it would be reported just to appease me and get their money is absolutely unethical. I paid the account off, although it took me a bit to get it done, the fact is it was still paid off as it should have been. It is wrong to tell someone this will be reported and then completely shrug it off and act like it is no big deal. I have a copy of the receipt where I paid UNIFIN, and I also have a copy of the e-mail I wrote them before asking why it has not been reported. No one ever responded to my e-mail, and I had to call multiple times before I could even get a direct answer that it would not be reported. Everyone else before just kept saying it would eventually be reported. To make matters worse, back in February I received a bill stating I still owed money, then I e-mailed them regarding reporting my account paid! Never heard a word, then when I called the company back I was informed there is no balance due.

RE:UNFAIR AND INVALID CREDIT REPORTING TO ALL THIS MAY CONCERN: I RECEIVED A CREDIT ALERT ON 03/07 THAT DEROGATORY INFORMATION HAD BEEN UPDATED ON MY THREE CREDIT REPORTS. I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED DOCUMENTATION FROM THIS COMPANY ABOUT AN OUTSTANDING BALANCE, HOWEVER, I HAVE ADDRESSED CREDIT ONE BANK AND THEIR BILLING DEPARTMENT AND RECORDED THEM AS WELL ABOUT THE BILL FOR A CREDIT CARD THAT I NEVER APPLIED FOR OR USED MAKING THEM AWARE THAT A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED WITH BOTH PINE BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT AND BATON ROUGE POLICE DEPARTMENTS(WHERE I ATTENDED MY UNIVERSITY)THEIR RESOLUTION WAS THAT THE DEBT WOULD BE DISSOLVED! NATIONWIDE RECOVERY NEVER CONTACTED ME IN WRITING OR BY PHONE SO IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO REPORT DEROGATORY INFORMATION ON MY CREDIT REPORTS WHEN THERE WAS NEVER ANY FORMAL NOTIFICATION OF THE ALLEGED DEBT! FURTHERMORE, I DO NOT OWE CREDIT ONE OR ANY AGENCY ILLEGALLY COLLECTING ON THEIR BEHALF ONE PENNY AND I HAVE THAT AUDIO RECORDING OF THE CONVERSATION LEGALLY DOCUMENTED PER MY LAST CONVERSATION WITH THE BUSINESS OFFICE TO INSURE THAT WE HAD AN UNDERSTANDING. BOTH LVNV AND CREDIT ONE BANK HAVE VIOLATED SEVERAL LAWS UNDER THE FCRA INCLUDING ILLEGALLY SELLING THE FRAUDULENTLY/UNAUTHORIZED CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT (WHOSE ORIGINAL OWNER IS CREDIT ONE BANK TO LVNV WHICH IS ILLEGAL IN AND OF ITSELF BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL ALLEGED AGREEMENT WAS NOT ENTERED INTO WITH LVNV BUT CREDIT ONE BANK). MOREOVER, IF THE FRAUDULENT/UNAUTHORIZED DEBT THAT I AM DISPUTING WITH BOTH THIS AGENCY AND CREDIT ONE IS NOT DELETED FROM ALL THREE MY CREDIT REPORTS IMMEDIATELY IN THE NEXT 24 HOURS I'M SWIFTLY MOVING FORWARD LEGALLY TO SEEK GENERAL, COMPENSATORY AND PUNITIVE RELIEF TO BE MADE WHOLE FOR THE YEARS THAT ALL PARTIES CONTINUED TO REPORT THE DEROGATORY INFORMATION ON MY CREDIT BUREAUS HINDERING MY CREDITWORTHINESS AND MY ABILITY TO RIGHTFULLY OBTAIN CREDIT UNDER THE FCRA. PLEASE NOTE THAT AN IMMEDIATE CEASE AND DESIST WILL FOLLOW THIS CORRESPONDENCE. LASTLY, I WILL NEVER MAKE PAYMENTS ON UNAUTHORIZED CREDIT CARD ACCOUNTS THAT DO NOT BELONG TO ME. THAT IS OMISSION OF OWNERSHIP AND I DO NOT/HAVE NOT OWNED ANY CREDIT CARDS WITH CREDIT ONE BANK.

I received a text message from a supposed "Unifin Debt Collector" with a reference number. Phone number I received the text from does not come up with anything in a search. But searching the number within the text brought up that it was Unifin. I did not click on the web link. Either way, I have no debts in collections and believe this to be a scam.
Got a text to call them. Called and they gave me an email to send a copy of my mothers POA. Tried to send, no such email address. Tells me all I need to know.
