Love this school
I started online classes for my bachelor's degree for accounting in November of 2022. I had no income and actually became homeless. I have been on the deans list since I started and even today I'm barely making it by but the school is so understanding and they email me when I'm doing good and when it seems like Im struggling. They always let me know there is resources available and they are always there for me. I even went on accomodations when I was struggling mentally and I take a LOA when life gets to hard and I need a small break. The financial aid is straight forward and easy to use. My instructors have even let the school know when they seen me struggling and they are super understanding and I like that. My only problem is the Honor society keeps emailing me over and over and I have told them more than once, I can't afford food let alone the fee for the honor society. To pls stop emailing me but they continue. This school is amazing and I recommend it to anyone. Just have common sense and you will be fine.
Mixed Reviews Reflecting Real Customer Experiences
As someone deeply invested in education, I understand the importance of choosing the right institution for your academic journey. Apollo Group Management Ltd, operating as University of Phoenix, has garnered a mix of reviews from students. While some have praised the flexibility and support provided by the faculty, others have expressed concerns about financial transparency and the value of the education received. It's crucial to weigh these perspectives carefully before making a decision. Remember, each individual's experience is unique, so consider your own needs and goals when evaluating this institution.
UoP: A Costly Mistake - My Experience with a Non-Accredited College
I gotta say, I ain't too happy with my experience at UoP. I fell for their slick talkin' and ended up takin' out loans I didn't need. They told me it was just in case the grants didn't cover it, but turns out they didn't even use the grant money at all. Now I'm stuck with a big ol' debt and a degree that ain't worth nothin'.
I thought I was gettin' a good education, but turns out UoP ain't even a real college. No one wants to hire me 'cause they don't trust my degree. It's like I wasted all that time and money for nothin'.
I wish I had done more research before signin' up. Maybe then I woulda realized that UoP ain't worth the trouble. Now I'm stuck tryin' to pay off this debt with no job prospects in sight. It's a real shame.

University of Phoenix Misused Pell Grant Funds - Not Recommended
My boy went to University of Phoenix for one semester. He applied for a Pell grant and they got the cash, but instead of using the Federal Pell Grant money, they used a bank loan and sent the Pell money back to the Government. They've been chasing him for years trying to collect on that loan. I mean, come on, shouldn't they have used the Pell instead of using a bank loan? I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone.
University of Phoenix Financial Aid Fiasco: My Experience
?
So, I went to the University of Phoenix and they gave me some money. But then they came back and said that I was supposed to send the money back because of a class I took. They want me to change my authorization back to them handling my funds. The last conversation we had, they told me that I might not get my student loans or my Pell because I owe them some money. I'm not sure if I'll receive the money that I was already approved for or if they'll keep it.
I'm really frustrated with this situation because I thought everything was taken care of. I don't want to have to pay back money that I thought was mine to keep. I'm also worried about my financial aid because I really need it to pay for school. I hope that the University of Phoenix can help me figure this out because I don't want to have to drop out of school because of this.
Overall, my experience with the University of Phoenix has been okay. The classes are pretty easy and the professors are helpful. But this situation with the money has really put a damper on things. I hope that they can resolve it soon so that I can focus on my studies.
University of Phoenix: A Challenging and Rewarding Experience
I think that most of the negativity about this school comes from people who are lazy and don't finish, or they quit going to class and have to pay for that class. Sure, anybody can get into this school, but who stays? The people that can actually handle the hard curriculum. I spend hours on my homework every week, and I learn so much more than I did in brick and mortar schooling. This school is great. I haven't finished completely yet, but I am almost there, and I have already found a job! Employers do not think negatively about this school, but you have to represent this school and show them what you have learned and how it applies to the job. You should also keep a high GPA. Don't listen to this negativity! I love this school, and I love being a phoenix.
I have been attending the University of Phoenix for a while now, and I must say that it has been a great experience. The curriculum is challenging, but it is worth it. I have learned so much more than I did in traditional schools. The professors are knowledgeable and always willing to help. The online platform is easy to use, and the resources are readily available.
One thing that I have noticed is that some people tend to drop out or fail because they cannot handle the workload. This is not the school's fault. It is up to the individual to put in the effort and time to succeed. I spend hours every week on my homework, but it is worth it. I have gained valuable skills and knowledge that I can apply to my future career.
I have heard some negative comments about the University of Phoenix, but I have not experienced any of that. Employers do not think negatively about this school. It is up to the individual to represent the school and show what they have learned. Keeping a high GPA is also important. I have already found a job, and I am not even finished yet. This shows that the University of Phoenix is respected in the job market.
In conclusion, I love this school, and I love being a phoenix. The University of Phoenix is a great school for those who are willing to put in the effort and time to succeed. The curriculum is challenging, but it is worth it. The professors are knowledgeable and always willing to help. I would recommend this school to anyone who is looking for a quality education.
University of Phoenix: Overpriced and Terrible Customer Service
This school is not good, the customer service is terrible. I started one class and I tried to withdraw from the class because I had just started a new job and I was living in a hotel room for two weeks. In that time I fell behind. When I approached my instructor, she gave me pointers on how to try for a D. When the class was over I was told that if I had sought help to leave the class sooner they could have helped me. Because I didn't pass the class financial aid didn't cover it and I couldn't continue the class until I paid the $1700 for one class. They are over priced for such horrible customer service. They wont help in any way and they will mess up your credit. They also have no fear of the Better Business Bereau. Save yourself the effort and just register for online classes with a community college or your local state college.

Disappointing Experience with University of Phoenix's Emergency Management Program
I recently enrolled in the new emergency management program at the University of Phoenix and I must say, I was not impressed. The majority of the students in my class seemed to struggle with basic writing skills, often unable to string together a coherent sentence. It was frustrating to work on group projects with individuals who couldn't even communicate effectively.
To make matters worse, one of my group members attempted to submit plagiarized work on more than one occasion. I brought this to the attention of our instructor multiple times, but nothing was ever done about it. As the team leader, I took it upon myself to make the necessary changes to the work.
However, things took a turn for the worse when the student in question filed a student code of conduct complaint against me. Can you believe it? I was found guilty of violating their rights, even though they were the one attempting to cheat. It was a ridiculous situation that left me feeling frustrated and disillusioned with the school.
To make matters worse, when I filed a complaint against the student for threatening me and my family, the University of Phoenix did nothing to address the situation. It was clear to me that they were more concerned with protecting their reputation than with ensuring the safety and well-being of their students.
Overall, I would not recommend the University of Phoenix to anyone. It seems that they will accept anyone as long as they can pay, regardless of their qualifications or abilities. It's no wonder that they're in financial trouble. Save your money and look elsewhere for a quality education.
University of Phoenix Review: Frustrating Assignments and Poor Support for Pell Grant
I've been studying at the University of Phoenix for a few years now, and I gotta say, I'm ready to move on. There's just too many problems with the way they do things. For one thing, the assignments are a mess. Sometimes the stuff we're supposed to do doesn't even match up with what we're learning in class. And then there's the instructions - they're often missing important details, which means I end up doing double the work. But the worst part, by far, is the group assignments. I keep getting stuck with people who just don't get it. I mean, we're talking about folks who can't even write a complete sentence, and they're in a 300-level class! It's frustrating as heck, and it's really dragging down my grades.
But that's not all. The University of Phoenix has also been a real pain when it comes to my Pell Grant. They've messed it up more than once, and I've had to call them up and chew them out just to get my money. It's like they don't even care about their students.
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend the University of Phoenix to anyone. Unless, of course, you're one of those people who just doesn't care about quality education. If that's the case, then go ahead and sign up - you'll fit right in.
Mixed Bag: My Experience Working and Studying at the University of Phoenix
I worked at the University of Phoenix for more than two years and I gotta say, it was a mixed bag. On the one hand, I was able to take advantage of the tuition assistance and earn my MBA. But let me tell you, that program was a real time suck. It wasn't exactly challenging, but it definitely required a lot of effort.
Now, let's talk about the work environment. It was pretty dysfunctional, to be honest. The management was completely incompetent and that translated into a lot of disrespect towards the employees. It's no wonder that the attrition rate was so high.
About a year ago, the University of Phoenix transitioned from a sales environment to a customer service business model. That's all well and good, but there's still an underlying force to produce. And to make matters worse, the quarterly earnings reports for the past year have been dismal.
Sometimes I hear comments about my degree not being accepted or recognized. I'm not sure if the rumors are true, but they're definitely pervasive. It's a shame, really. The University of Phoenix may have more MBA students enrolled than any other university, and the numbers aren't even close. But that doesn't necessarily mean it's the best school.
Personally, I still depend on my bachelor's degree from another university and my work experience to get me through. Going back to school is a big decision, and it takes a lot of time and money. So my advice to anyone considering the University of Phoenix is to choose wisely and be aware of the potential pitfalls.
Is the University of Phoenix a Good Choice for Online Education?
I've been on the hunt for a job for a while now, and I keep thinking that if I had more education or training, I'd have a better chance of getting hired. Unfortunately, I don't have the time or money to go to a traditional four-year school, or even a local community college part-time. That's why I've been looking into online education, and the University of Phoenix caught my eye. They offer the degrees I'm interested in, and they have great loan options. I was particularly interested in their degree in information systems.
However, when I started researching the University of Phoenix online, I found some things that scared me. Many people seem to think that a degree from this online school doesn't mean anything, and some even call it a scam. There's even a whole website dedicated to exposing what they call the "Phoenix Mistake." I understand that education isn't a guarantee of a job or career, but I don't want to risk taking out huge loans for a degree that won't help me in the long run.
I did find a video by the Huffington Post that gave me some hope, though. It talked about how the University of Phoenix has helped some people get jobs and advance their careers. But then I read a report that said only 2 percent of people who enroll in the University of Phoenix actually graduate, and many default on their student loans. I can't afford to go bankrupt again, and I don't want to ruin my credit.
If anyone out there has actually gotten a job after going to the University of Phoenix, I'd love to hear about it. I know that the people who complain are often the loudest, so I'm sure there are success stories out there. But I'm also wondering if there are other online schools that are more reputable. I want to make sure that I'm making the right choice before I invest my time and money in an online degree.
University of Phoenix Online: A Disappointing Experience with High Debt
The University of Phoenix is an online school that I attended and I have to say, it was not a great experience. I did graduate with a 3.95 GPA, which I was proud of at first, but then I realized that the classes were not challenging at all. The discussions with my classmates were minimal and many of them were making ignorant statements and getting credit for it. I did not learn anything from any of my classes.
The worst part is that I am now stuck with monthly loan payments that started out at $22,000 and have now ballooned up to over $45,000. When I signed up for school, I was not given much help with the process. The advisor I met with just pushed me to sign the papers for the loans. It is clear that the school is all about the money and not the best interest of the student.
The school is not worth anywhere near the original $22,000 I got loans on. When I tell people I got a degree from UoP, they laugh and ask why I went that route. The school advertises their "education" to people who do not have another option, such as single parents or those who cannot get loans to attend other schools. This is a bad practice and they should be ashamed to call themselves accredited.
The professors were a joke and I found out that many of them were just students themselves. After I received my associate's degree, I was never even contacted to either move forward with my bachelor's or to see how satisfied I was with the classes. I would not have moved ahead with them anyway, but some support would have been nice.
In conclusion, I would not recommend attending the University of Phoenix online. You will be very disappointed and stuck with a lot of debt.

Financial aid and misinformation
Everything was going fine until I started to ask questions about my disbursement wich I need to pay for my internet and I had the bank notary not check the dated on my student identification form, so I went to the bank and had another one done and took it to the post office right away, second day air with signature and then days later I get a call saying...

I have contact the school on numerous occasions on how I would finance my classes. I have been dealing with the issue since July of 2023. I have submitted the required chapter 33 benefits twice and each time the paper gets lost. Each person that I talk to always tells me something different. I ask to speak with a supervisor I am told I can't. This last call with the university has been over 2 hours and yet nothing has been resolved. I have been transferred numerous times and had to reverify on majority of the transfers. This unacceptable and not the way your students should be treated!
Financial aid
I initially signed up for my first class at Pheonix university but had a family emergency come up so I dropped the class. I talked to my academic advisor about what I needed to do so that I wouldn't be charged anything for the dropped class. I was told I withdrew in time that no fee would be charged and no Pell grant money would be used. I signed back up for the same class five weeks later and completed that class with a B+. I officially withdrew from the University of Phoenix after completing the class to return to college in GA. I am a 43 yr old woman from Georgia just trying to change career paths but not have to pay out of pocket. I graduated top of my class in high school and I qualified for the Hope scholarship and the Hope grant which covered all of my tuition and books at several different colleges for a few different diplomas. I did not want to go into debt with loans at my age just to go back to school and further my education. The amount of Pell grant I was granted by far covered the one class I took and finished. I withdrew from the college and took the exit exam for financial aid and talked with the financial advisor making sure I had a balance of $0 before leaving. Everything was good. I owed nothing and had the school return the unused funds back to the government. Now I'm getting daily emails about a $681.80 balance I now owe for what!?!? I feel if there was a $0 balance when I withdrew then I should still have a zero balance. Why would the school not use the federal aid I had to cover that before sending it back? I am completely lost and I have tried to communicate with the school about this and I just get taken in circles with no answer except "it's different" when dealing with tuition and what you owe the school. The class I took basically is no good because it will not transfer due to accreditation.
Desired outcome: My balance to return to $0 like it was when I left the school. I do not feel I owe anything and if I did it should’ve been taken out of the Pell money before the school sent it back.

Warning: Stay Away from University of Phoenix - A Personal Review
This college ain't worth it, man. Like seriously, only 7% of students actually graduate from this place. That's like, crazy low. And if you put this "university" on your resume, you're gonna get laughed at by every employer out there. Trust me, I know. I wasted my money on this scam and I regret it every day. Don't make the same mistake I did, bro. Stay away from University of Phoenix.
Expensive and Disappointing: My Experience at University of Phoenix
I went to the University of Phoenix and it cost me a lot of money. I had to take out a loan for over 55 thousand dollars. I didn't realize how much debt I was getting into when I enrolled in 2013. The people who work at UOP helped me fill out the paperwork for the loan, but now I regret it because I will never be able to buy a house.
The classes at UOP were okay. They were online, so I could do them from home. But sometimes it was hard to stay motivated because I didn't have a teacher in front of me. I had to do everything on my own. The assignments were easy, but they took a lot of time. I had to read a lot of articles and write a lot of papers.
The teachers were nice, but they didn't really help me learn. They just graded my assignments and gave me feedback. I didn't feel like I was getting a real education. I was just going through the motions.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend the University of Phoenix. It's too expensive and the education isn't worth it. If you're thinking about going to UOP, make sure you understand how much debt you'll be getting into. It's not worth it.
University of Phoenix: A Confusing and Expensive Experience
So, I gotta say, my experience with University of Phoenix (phoenix.edu) wasn't exactly a walk in the park. I mean, don't get me wrong, I was excited to start taking their online courses and get my degree, but it took me almost 2 whole years before I could even get started! And why, you might ask? Well, it's because they kept changing up their site and making it all confusing and stuff. And then, get this, they had the nerve to charge my student loans just to "teach me" how to navigate their site! Can you believe that? I mean, I'm already in debt enough as it is, and now they're just adding to it with their little scam they're running. It's just not right, man.
Underwhelming Accounting Courses at University of Phoenix: A Disappointing Experience
So, I went to University of Phoenix for some accounting classes. I gotta say, I wasn't too impressed with the quality of the courses. They were just kinda meh, you know? And then when I graduated and started looking for jobs, I didn't really get much of a response from employers. It was pretty disappointing, to be honest.
Looking back, I kinda wish I had saved my money and gone to a local college instead. I think I would have gotten a better education and maybe had more success finding a job. But hey, you live and you learn, right?
Warning: Stay Away from University of Phoenix - A Scam School Only After Your Money
University of Phoenix is not a good school, I had a bad experience and had to withdraw. They only care about your money and will send you to collections if you can't pay. Don't waste your time or money on this scam school. If you do decide to enroll, good luck because you'll need it.
Questionable Marketing Tactics at University of Phoenix
University of Phoenix is a school that I almost went to. They do a lot of marketing stuff that seems a little shady to me. They have these programs where people can get paid to get other people to sign up for classes. That seems kind of weird to me. I don't really trust a school that does stuff like that. It makes me wonder if they're more interested in making money than actually teaching people.
Disappointing Experience with University of Phoenix Online Courses
So, my wife decided to take some courses at the University of Phoenix and I gotta say, it was a pretty bad move. I mean, I don't really trust these online schools to give you much bang for your buck. I don't even know if employers really care about these degrees, ya know? I mean, there's so many free classes online that you could take that would probably be better. And if you really wanna get a degree, why not go to a real school?
University of Phoenix: A Scam or a Real Deal? My Experience and Review
So, I started this program at University of Phoenix and I gotta say, it wasn't what I was expecting. I mean, I was excited to start and all, but within two days, I knew it wasn't for me. And when I tried to withdraw, they charged me $500! Can you believe that? And they won't even give it back to me because I didn't make "attendance" that week. What a load of crap.
Honestly, I think this whole thing is a scam. The classes and professors just give you busy work to make it seem like you're doing something important. But really, it's just a bunch of nonsense. I mean, I'm not the only one who thinks this. If you read the reviews, you'll see that a lot of other people have had the same experience.
I know, I know. You're probably thinking, "Oh, those are just disgruntled students who didn't try hard enough." But trust me, that's not the case. This is the real deal. So if you're thinking about signing up for University of Phoenix, I would seriously reconsider. It's just not worth it.
Financial aid
I attempted to go to school in 2017 and was told my financial aid would go through. I filed all the necessary paperwork but UofP would not accept my tax paperwork which was filed by a tax professional. I was a military spouse who lived separate from my spouse and they asked me to file additional documents and I was still denied financial aid. The admissions rep, Oscar told me everything would be fine and registered me for classes before my financial aid was cleared. now I owe UofP $1800 that I can not afford to pay. I am in the military and want to complete my education but I can not because this amount is holding me back from going back to school. Please help! I feel scammed.
Desired outcome: I would like the collections forgiven.
I am being allowed to dispute the collections and given other options. thank you! I am gratefulfor UofP working with me to resolve ths.
$34000 dollar debt for an unusable two year degree
I enrolled in UOP in hopes to begin a career adulthood that was future based for me and my children. I attended UOP FROM August 2010 through August of 2012, obtaining my so called Associates degree with a 3.78 GPA.. I worked my but off to do well only to be granted a debt of 40000+ in loans, a degree nobody acknowledges, in an industry that is impossible to get hired without previous experience. I was misled from the start of my education to the end of it. Now I see that there are literally lawsuits surrounding my degree, telling me that not only did I get played, I continue to get played as the school knows they used deceptive measures to obtain my enrollment and these loans that I cannot pay off have completely crippled my financial abilities through my credit.
hi this happened to me as well. I took the associates in Business Fundamentals and only 5 of my classes were business related. I know people that took business associates online at other schools and learned everything they needed without extra schooling. They used up almost all my Pell Grant and a good amount of my loans and I am now struggling to finish my Bachleors at a much better school because i am running close to my federal limits. and the school doesnt want to help. i tried contacting the federal DoE and they said i have to fight the school first. haha
Masters program and misrepresentation
Hello,
When I started my journey back to school it was just to get my associates degree in Accounting. Just turned 40 and wanted to complete my education. Got that certification and was asked about my plans from your representative and was convinced to continue on with my Bachelors. Good decision for that did put me where I wanted to go, so no regrets.
My regrets came later, when I was asked again what my plans were with my Bachelor and I stated was going to start preparing for the CPA exam. That is when I was convinced to continue on with the Master program. For that would prepare me to take the exam, and would have a much greater chance of passing it the first time around if I would go into the masters program. So I did.
My surprise came when I discovered that even through I had a Masters Degree in Accounting, it was basically worthless in the state of Texas. This I learned, when I registered to take the CPA exam. Apparently, in the state of Texas they frown on to much online learning. So I had to go back to school, which I did for a while, but did not complete the required classes needed to sit for the exam.
Now I know you have had some legal issue with your councilors not advising your students as they should, yet reviewing those requirement I do not qualify for this took place prior to those legal actions. But I do believe, my representative steered me in the wrong direction.
Student loans debt
I attended UOP online from [protected]. This was after my husband had passed away and I was very depressed. I was a senior at the time and UOP made promises they were not able to fulfill about what a degree would help me with. I am now still owe 33000 in student loans I am 74 years old on social security with no way of making payments. I feel I was totally mislead by UOP and the promises they made loa
Desired outcome: student loans forgiveness or loans dismissed
during this time I also raised 2 grandchildren while the parents were incarcerated, worked as a youth service officer for the county in which I live
I am complaining about this university scamming students to join their online program
I am filing a complaint regarding my finances. I attended UOPX in 11/2019 up until 04/2021. I was told by multiple faculty members, including the program's Dean that I would be able to obtain licensure in Georgia through their program. I ended up withdrawing from the program because I did not feel like I would be able to join the counseling world with an education from UOPX and the new school I am enrolled in does not accept any of the credits. My frustration is, that I was in school for almost 2 years and none of those credits were good. This was never discussed with me that this is the only program that is not CACREP accredited and they used the school's accreditation to deceive me. They failed to inform me that I would not be able to obtain my license but also that if I were to leave the program the credits were no good. They have informed me that I could still get licensure in Georgia, however if this is the case then why are none of my credits transferrable? I do not feel that it is right for me to owe UOPX especially since the education I received there has no impact whatsoever on my future. It felt like I was scammed. Please help me rectify this issue ASAP.
Will not disclose loan info
I enroll me moving for a month again and they got myself some money and they will not be close to me my FAFSA money so I can contacted them and maybe to give me anything and they refuse to give meand they refuse to tell me any information so I asked FAFSA and they said to contact the student financial aid at University of Phoenix so it's a ring around they are scammers!
Desired outcome: Money!!!
Axia online college
I was attending Axia online college, I was very excited and keeping up with my courses also my grades were good. But because I had been out of school for more than ten years before returning, I was one semester away from earning my associates degree. I was struggling in my math class so I contacted the advisor and she explain to me what I should do. Then I contacted the professor over the class and explained to her that it had been a while since I was in school and that I was struggling. I explained to her I didn't want to fail the class and ask her if she would give me and incomplete then I would retake the class but not lose my financial aid in the process. She explain she doesn't give incompletes and even if I was to drop her class I would still end up failing. She also said my financial aid was not her concerns. Well after that I talked to my advisor once more to see what other options I could take. Even though they were concern they let me know it was nothing I could do if she continues to give me a failing grade instead of allowing me drop and retake later to keep my financial aid. I must have cried for a whole week, was hurt and disappointed at the same time. I was a semester away from receiving my degree. All I left Axia with was a student loan .
Desired outcome: I wish they would have given me an option to help keep my financial aid ànd also been able to revive my degree.
Overcharging for a class
I was going to uop online. Everything was going well until I had to retake a class. I dropped it and retook it again the next semester. However the financial aid office said it was going to give me a partial credit in payment since I had already paid for the first class. They were going to charge me $300. Instead they charged me $3000. What? Classes are not even $3000. I tried to resolve this. I called, emailed. I got locked out. I could not continue my education. I have buried this deep and it makes me mad. I am trying to get my transcripts but the website has an outstanding balance - which I cannot even see.
I just want my transcripts. I want them to correct what they did to me.
I am trying to better myself by getting my msn in nursing.
They are holding me back please help
Dropped class- charging me
I dropped class a class in the first week- during the pandemic because work and family issues. They are now charging me! they will only give me a percentage off. They are now calling me every day wanting their money. I let them know that I will not ever attend again.
