I have been approached by this company and am unsure as well. They said they will find the discrepancies in my loan (for 1% of original loan amount) and give to their law people who will then assign a lawyer at $1000 per month (for about 9 months). I have researched the lawyers, the Founders and everything I can. All seems OK...but they are a newbie company. Basically not enough data to determine. The Rep I talked to was knowledgeable and explained well and answered my questions. I would go for it for sure except for...I am afraid of the process where I am not supposed to talk to the lender once the TRO (temporary restraining order) is filed, which means I'm not supposed to be sending the lender money, correspondence, nothing. That is the only part of this whole thing I am holding back on because at this time, I have never been late in my payments. Problem is, everything is going to change and soon--so I have to do something. Also, 9 months (10 if you include the audit the first month) is a long time to wait to see if you are a winner...almost like having a baby! I was told things would get worse before they got better--but they cannot guarantee that we will win. So what to do...what to do.
Thank you everyone! I have been holding off becoming a customer of these guys and am glad I listened to my gut. They were too positive I would win my case, they kept lowering the cost of the audit and raising the cost of the legal services. George Pulvino keeps trying, but the next time he calls, I am just going to tell him we went with someone else (and I did... me!). I've figured out how to make it all work without losing my home or even being late on one payment. By the time trouble comes-a-knocking, when all is said and done, I will be paying less for my house than if I went with US Loan Auditors/My Legal Service.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you who did get scammed, I hope Karma bites them ALL on the behind!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
NH sorry my prior post did not make sense to your.
But may be this will make sense. I just filed a complaint with CA A/G office and for others that want to file too here is the link to California Attorney Generals.
http://ag.ca.gov/contact/complaint_form.php?cmplt=CL
this below is from their site:
5 Tips to Avoid Being Scammed
Don't pay up-front fees. Foreclosure consultants are prohibited by law from collecting money before services are performed.
Don't ignore letters from your lender or loan servicer. Responding to those letters is your best bet for saving your house.
Don't transfer title or sell your house to a "foreclosure rescuer." Beware! This is a scam to convince homeowners they can stay in the home as renters and buy their home back later. It might also be part of a fraudulent bankruptcy filing. Either way, a scammer can then evict the victim and take the home.
Don't pay your mortgage payments to anyone other than your lender or loan servicer. Mortgage consultants often keep the money for themselves.
Never sign any documents without reading them first. Many homeowners think that they are signing documents for a loan modification or for a new loan to pay off the mortgage they are behind on. Later, they discover that they actually transferred ownership of their home to someone who is now trying to evict them.
Need_Help - So you are 100% happy with USLA but you havn't had the audit yet and bragging about this CO> Seems most of the complains are from homeowners that have gone thru the audit and still waiting 4 to 6 months paying $1000 each month and no ATTORNEY being assigned to file their case. Since you are sooo happy why don't you wait another few months and then see how happy you are. But then by that time USLA will have already made few more millions of $ and disappear.
100% Right in connection with my story alethia now. That's why I gave up and went to the D.A.'s office for help. Can't imagine what I do if I kept using the last of my savings up till today.
What was I paying USLA for when I had to go file and pay for my Unlawful Detainer Response. That's all the red flag of confirmation I needed. And I to was pissed off coming here a month ago reading all these post.
You could and should report to the A.G. website but they just take the info and tell you to seek an attorney. But foreclosure consulting is criminal. I'm sure we do'nt need to down the list as per Calif. civ. [protected].11 It's been on the books as far as I've found to 1998 but it has been amended as of July 2009 which is the link I left. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jerry Brown were'nt just announcing it, they were enforcing it.
Refund or no refund it does'nt matter after you've lost your home. You don't need to create class actions or lawsuits. I guess you can if you like. Just as USLA, I'm not a lawyer and so on or whatever. I mean think about it. Does a victum of rape hire a lawyer for criminal charges?
Also you don't need to post or reveal your true name here. You can if you like but it's not going to make a damm bit of difference to anything.
Plus do'nt rush off USLA to remove that commercial. I already down loaded a copy.
the link about endorsing Jerry Brown crack down, is to USLA's own website, not a news reporting agency
ND
This is not a cut and dry, no brainer, decision This is as big, if not bigger, than the decision people make to purchase their home in the first place. Yeah, there is a lot of emotion involved! Real people who are getting kicked out of there homes because they place there trust and money, in there sales rep, the exact same thing I was contemplating doing...and if you read my sign-off, I said I am going to sit on the sidelines... and wait this out, which means "for now". This means I am keeping an open mind, so as I said, I'm going to sit on the sidelines. That doesn't mean leave. It means do what I did before I made my decision..Observe and/or check in, if I feel like it. I really can't wait until I can see a success story on this site. I am really looking forward to a verifiable success story. I'm pulling for you to be successful! That's when I will strongly consider coming on board...but not until then. And I understand taking my position could mean, I'm missing out! I'm ok with that. I am in sales myself. And I'm sure you have motivated your sales staff to realize, "Every time you get a "No" you're one step closer to a "Yes". And all that "No" really means is, I need more information to make an intelligent decision, and that is exactly where I am. So for now, as stated in my post: I already made my decision...based on several factors, this site being part of my decision-making process.
By the way, I took your response as being a defensive one. I didn't ask you for a recommendation but since you responded, can you answer my question re: a bank going under...instead of trying to nicely shove me away from this site. As I'm sure you can tell, all it did was fire me up! I don't take well to being told what I should do, or where I should go! Don't worry, you won't be hearing from me much, as I am way too busy trying to make a living to keep a roof over my family's head. I am still interested in your answer regarding whether a bank is still liable for a fraudulent loan they made, even though they have filed for bankruptcy.
Good Luck!
Well Need Help, I listened. I learned. And I followed thru. I actually believed your posts at first and I felt concerned and sorry for you. I tried to "pay it forward" to you to. I tried to say take caution before signing up.
But I don't understand your being SAVED point. And you obviously know a lot about my case. This does make you an employee. Yes, I had a prior audit done. But my orginal auditor wasn't a lawyer so I still felt I needed one. What else was I suppose to do while in foreclosure? So I contacted you guys. And your sales person would'nt allow me to talk to your "In house" attorneys until I had one of your forensic audits performed. So again what else was suppose to do. And I sent you a copy of my original audit so whats you point to having two audits done. You guys pointed out my first one was no good but it covered a hell of lot more than what yours did.
Oh ya by the way Need Help, Why for the past twenty days you were putting up so many posting looking for real clients to speak. When you know we spoke on the phone over a month ago?
ND badscammer Lopez needhelp: How stupid do u think ppl here are? A client would have no idea my name or business I have, you have been exposed. The bottom line is this is a SCAM. Don't be stupid and fall for it like I did. I no longer own a home because I took the advice of USLA. You are the biggest liar here, You complain about ppl using real names but hide behind ND and all the rest. You come on and cause a disturbance to get those off the topic of how they were scammed. It's called flooding a site.
ND
Thanks, I appreciate it.
I don't understand why people play games here.
I know what I went through to make a decision.
Indecision is not fun.
I personally put some weight on some of the postings on this site.
I took this site to be from genuine people, with real life experiences.
Like I mentioned in my initial posting, this is the first time.
I felt compelled to share my experiences...
If someone can relate, or is influenced by anything I said, then that's great.
So I guess there are a lot of people here who aren't who they say they are...
Thats sad that one has to guess who's for real, and who's not.
Good Luck
GM
Need help: I have an idea, when your case has been filed in court and only then, come back and preach your sermons, otherwise stop your ###!
FatMike,
Hold off there. Salmondean is for real. There's been a lot of postings today. You have to go back a few pages and see.
NH - you questioned if I was a client. Well to make sure I am - The person I signed up with his initial is CN and his wife also works there too. Seems she had an Russian accent. Now if still want more info I will be glad to name what CN stands for.
I know inside info about this company I know that are overwhelmed with so many people that are in need make sure your case was filed in court and you have a lis pendance on said property. I will check back to see about resposnes
lets go for real questions... since were all friends now...
I have some info on your company but i also WANT to believe in your program... i dont want to invest my time if your just a sham.
SO NEED HELP/
What help does My us legal provide?
How can it help a home owner who have been a victim of fraud?
how does your company make most of its money (how do you help for sooo little cash up front)
ANd just so i know.. are you the manager named Eric over at that company ( the new manager right?)
that would explain the stockton to sac drive every day... or you must make enough to pay a lot in gas every month.
i need to know before i give all my time to your company...please take the time to answer... it would make me feel better about doing business with your company.
But your the onlt one defending this company? i am lost...
I dont get it... you know all these people a wrong in ther comments and defended your points well but..?
I dont want to talk to a salesman on the phone. You sen to have the best answers and the Barker guy has yet to say much in the last few posts...
I was looking to you for support, because at the end of the day most of these peop who are looking to invest in your company just wana a little support in making the right decission...
I know you can help
Need Help: Stop the BS, stop playing like your the client here. You think this is a freaking game? People losing their homes and your company plays on that. What's your phone number, let's talk. Tired of reading your stupid comments.
Dean are you kidding? You think need help has a case? His only case is at his doctor trying to get more pills.
I agree with Steve, if you think you have a case, talk to the DA, find a Lawyer, don't fall for a middle man that shops. I can't believe I just said I agree with Steve.
Ok... Mike... i just wanted to know what was your situation... i am very nervous but i did do my research
So as far as talking to a laywer...her is what a laywer told me... it would cost a retainer (like 5500$)
and he would bill me for his hours(325$ per hour)... which he said he couldnt take outa the settlement because there are no sure wins in court...just strong cases and great laywers...
so it would cost me like 70K (his estimATE) long time in court plus fileing fees
I did ask the DA jane skully if they were taking cases but what one of her receptionists or workers told me there had to be serious criminal action being taken towards that Broker office/loan officer or somebody for me to have a file and it could take years to get anywhere... where would the house be then?
So the last choice is beg for a loan mod or loose the house
NOW you have this company saying they can do an Audit in like 30 days and with in 2-4 monthes have a case filed in state or federal court and be able to see that case in justia... and it could take as long as a year to a year and a half to get stuff done...
BUT if you look a payments i would not make th the lender of 2500 a month for the next 15 months which is (in all reality intrest and at that point rent) instead can pay 1% of the loan amount and just 1000$ per month and try to fix this situation
That is why i am looking in to this in detail... it looks like the best option from my point of view thus far,
but i am still trying to make sure...
can you see my reasoning ?
Mr Salmon,
I do appreciate your interjection, here is why I AM thinking of my future children
If i walk... Since i refied...i willl get hit with a deficancy judgment, thats for the difference.
If i short sell... taxes i have to pay on that...
If i beg for a loan mod... and use a company... 3500 of it works... and i get an I/O for 3-5 years at like 3-4% so i go back to being in the same boat
AS fas as urinating up a rope... i dont quite see it that way... i was told how long things would take and i am ok with that... i am not expecting these guys to move mountains... i have very low expectations BUT HIGH HOPES... so we shall see what happens,
The person i spoke with never gave me any wild fantasys or told me i had to do this... just to look at all my options and make the best decission...maybe the person you spoke with was a bad rep... and in that case should be fired " in my opinion" but who knows
I do thank you for your concern
FYI some times you have to play that hand till the river to win...
Just a thought
So, let me get this straight...Charging fees up front is not illegal? Collecting funds without providing legal representation is not illegal? What more proof do you need?
artharris: I agree with dean, sometimes your hand is empty. Do you have any idea what usla will pay the attorney that they find for you? Because in the process, you keep paying usla, not the attorney they shopped for you. I had an Attorney look over my case to determine if I could win in court, doesn't matter what anyone thinks, it's how your case will do before a Judge. It cost me $250. I was told no. When I talked to usla at the fair, before they even looked at my papers, I was told that I had a strong case. So you can be the idiot that fails math and common sense, but the deeper you dig, the harder it is to get out.
Homeowners should be careful never to pay up-front fees, as it is illegal to collect money before services are performed, never ignore letters from your lender or loan servicer

As far as I've gotten fraud is in the numbers. Here's a quick start on what to look for. This is the key.
http://borrowerclaims.blogspot.com/2009_08_02_archive.html
With my first audit, since I unfortunatley had two done, the first Auditor look over my taxes and said I did'nt even make enough money to open up a candy store. He said he had no idea how I got into this loan. He asked where is the loan application? I did'nt have it. He said call the Escrow/Tittle office to get copies (under Fed. law all loans must be on file for a minimum of 5 years). I called both local and corporate and nothing more than one page was found.
He sent out a Qualififed Written Resquest to my lender ( again under Fed. law(a letter you can mail out yourself for free). But I felt it was better to have him do it. So he typed up and excellent request and my lender reponded with - "These are in house docs. We do'nt have to release them" And some of you may already know it's 20 days to acknowledge and 60 days to respond but my lender took four months to reply. My auditor from the start told me I was going to lose the home. He said he could'nt do much more for the audit since we could'nt get any financial copies. But he also said he was'nt a lawyer.
So with all this and a N.O.D. in hand I felt I needed to seek a lawyer. Is'nt that what all are mortgage docs and notices say we need to do. So, that's how I ended up with USLA. Their salesperson said with their lawyers they were getting docs. from lenders in as little as ten days. We'll how can I argue that. Time was of the essence for me.
Not going to get into details about correspondences with USLA. The comments here speak for themselves. So with the big waiting, lack of service and filing my own Unlawful Detainer I gave up and talked with the D.A. Yes, my complaint was denied at first stating lack of evidence. The copy I went and got with the fraud income was only a copy. D.A. said, " When you went to sign finial copies at closing you verified everything to be true and correct." Yes. That's true. So where are they? Remember I tried to get copies. So that's where I am today. We are still looking.
So that's the best I can offer. What other challenges are there? One minor missing page? One unspoken disclosure? These are minor violations. Such as Tittle 12 Chap. 49 "Home Owners Protection" Did the lender in writing inform you that you were taking out a high risk loan and that they notified you they were taking out a mortgage insurance policy out on you. No they did not. So what. Minor violation of maybe $2, 000 Check the link yourself...
http://law.justia.com/us/codes/
So my point is how many violations do you have? Are you going to spend $20, 000 or $30, 000 just win maybe $6, 000 and still be in the loan?
Better advice. Not from me since I'm not a lawyer is...
http://timothymccandless.wordpress.com/sue-your-lender-really-what-for/
He is a lawyer and he doing what he can to teach you for FREE
Anyway, just like you I did'nt ask for all this. I made the same phone calls and go ### in return. Now I could careless about waiting and being optimistic. I could careless about fake profiles and who is who. And I could careless what Jerry Brown is endorsing. He's not in foreclosure and he is not a USLA client. I think if he was here. He'd be pissed!
does any body know what happened to the salmondean posts?
As I suspected USLA setup this complaint site to monitor and remove any negative commnents from unhappy clients. salmondean who posted in detail the process he went thru, other's comments and also mine were removed.
BUT Need_Help's comments are all there praising USLA.
Need help is just another personality of barker. If you go back and read the comments everytime barker is on, it's right after need help or right before. Like I said before, time to reach in and pull out your common sense card, it's a scam folks. Read Steve's comments, very good information. And if you still want to sign on, then you deserve what you get.
Salmondeans posts were deleted because he is a nutjob. Its obvious, he is at his wits end. Even though many of dream of catching Need Help in a dark alley, we would never do such a thing and go as far as proposition a meeting. A fistfight in a carwash? That would be interesting...trading jabs while trying to avoid a thousand spinning rubber whips.
Anyways,
mr.barker...please contact your helper, Need Help, and ask him to stop posting on this site. It has been well documented and everyone knows he is NOT a client, but a associate of USLA. If he discontinues posting and leaves this forum, i will go off into the sunset. If not, i will leave a post that will leave you ashamed to ever post on this forum again.
Fair warning...
Folks, I'm really beginning to think Need Help IS Shane Barker saying what he really wants to say. Why else would the fool defend this company? You would think he would be at least somewhat wise to the fact that giving money to this company is foolish. Either that, or he's afraid to admit what an idiot he was for giving in to their hype. Others have commented how disappointed they were and are now looking for refunds. This idiot continues to rave about how wonderful this company is. Need Help is either Barker in disguise, or an employee "yes man" trying to please his boss so he won't be out of a job. Either way, they're both losers.
TO EVERYONE:
THE WRITING'S ON THE WALL! LOOK AT P15...SECOND POSTING...THAT'S ME!
THEN LOOK AT P15...FOURTH POSTING...THAT'S NEED_HELP RESPONDING
TO ME.
IT READS """MY REP WAS VERY CLEAR"""...THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT NEED_HELP
IS WITH THE COMPANY. NONE. HE/SHE BLEW IT RIGHT THERE.
PLUS WHO IN THE HELL IS SO SARCASTIC TO SIGN THERE POSTINGS "LOVE" COME
ON...AND
A LEGIT COMPANY?THAT LIES ABOUT THERE IDENTITY? FOR WHAT PURPOSE!
IT MAKES NO SENSE TO ME!
LIKE I SAID IN MY POSTING...I WAS ON THE FENCE, WANTING SO BADLY TO COME
OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE... "TO BE SAVED." BUT IT SOUNDED TOO GOOD TO BE
TRUE. SO FOR THOSE OF YOU "ON THE FENCE" THINKING ABOUT WHICH WAY TO
GO...MY SUGGESTION IS DO WHAT THEY EVENTUALLY ARE GOING TO DO...
GO SEE AN ATTORNEY!
SPEND $300 BUCKS BEFORE YOU GIVE THEM 1% OF THE LOAN...THAT''S 1% IS ONE
HELL OF A LOT MORE THAN AN HOUR OF TIME WITH AN ATTORNEY, UNLES YOUR
LOAN BALANCE IS $30, 000 OR LESS.
BEFORE YOU DO THAT, GET ON THE INTERNET AND SPEND $295 FOR YOUR 80 PAGE
FORENSIC AUDIT. MY ATTORNEY INITIALLY SAID THOSE AUDITS AREN'T WORTH THE
PAPER THEY'RE PRINTED ON. THEN HE REVIEWED MINE AND SAID THIS WAS MONEY
WELL SPENT...AND THE TURNAROUND TIME WAS 1 WEEK!
MY ADVICE IS WHEN YOU'RE DONE WITH THAT, GO ON A VACATION WITH THE
$$$$ YOU WERE GOING TO GIVE TO THEM THIS MONTH...AFTER GOING THROUGH
ALL OF THIS, YOUR MIND NEEDS SOME PEACE.
ON THE OTHER HAND, IF I'M WRONG, THEN I MISS OUT. BUT I'M OK WITH THAT
I WISH YOU ALL, THE BEST OUTCOME POSSIBLE!
BEST REGARDS,
This site is all screwed up!
It would not let me in with my original name...grateful Mike!
It is Grateful Mike...I've got no reason to lie!
Best,
Hey Cheyenne12,
From what I remember from talking to Need_Help on the phone and I just watched the KCRA interview Need_Help posted. The voices didn't ring a bell. But a strong guess says they are the same age. Oh, well.
Dylanm,
I overlooked your post link. You are right. They're not even registered. I'll post it again for you.
http://ag.ca.gov/loanmod/search_results.php
Openly, still inquiring how USLA is classified. What is the legal class for a "loan fraud investigator"?
I don't mind saying I'm wrong. I'm just asking. So, I'm going to have to say "Foreclosure Consultant"
And going back to...
http://info.sen.ca.gov/cgi-bin/displaycode?section=civ&group=02001-03000&file=2945-2945.11
At the bottom it reads...
2945.11. (a) Any representative, as defined in subdivision (b) of
Section 2945.9, deemed to be the agent or employee or both the agent
and the employee of the foreclosure consultant shall be required to
provide both of the following:
(1) Written proof to the owner that the representative has a valid
current California Real Estate Sales License and that the
representative is bonded by an admitted surety insurer in an amount
equal to at least twice the fair market value of the real property
that is the subject of the contract.
Anybody get those?
Thanks Steve. I apologize for the assumption about Need Help being Shane Barker, but I couldn't believe that Need Help could be so naive in defending such a bogus company. I figured they HAD to be the same person. No one is that stupid...except for Need Help. And just think...he has to live with himself every day...at least the rest of us can put him on "visual mute" and be done with him.

Watch out for "simple guy", seems like another usla plant. Sending out all these private messages playing dumb. Hey scbell, looks like what you said worked, I guess "need help" was working for usla like we thought.
Like I said before, read what Steve wrote and if you still want to give your money to usla, remember this, they will be the ones vacationing, not you.
I was speaking to a woman who was most recently working for a lawyer who did loan mods. He no longer does them since sb94 came into play because he couldnt afford to pay 20 staff do process the mods and then get paid by the client 6 to 9 months later. ANYHOW, she is an investor and has told me ways that she saved her home and business office building and other income property.
She talked to me about a commissioner who 3 yrs ago, opened a trust to help people get their homes mortgage and interest reduced, permanently. Not a loan mod. He ends up buying the note from the bank after you quit claim the deed to the trust. He deals with the bank for 6 to 0 months and buys the note at a reduced price. he then basically is the new lender to you at lower principle and interest rate (impound account)
She has been reviewing this commissioner for 6 months and her attorney and her have interviewed him many times. This month there are 20 people that have gotten their houses back after deeding them over to the trust, as the commish had finished the deal, as described, with the bank.
She said that you have to pay the trust 1/2 of your mortgage when u quit claim the property to the trust. she said it doesnt always work out for the best for everyone, because if your loan rate is adjustable and it is very low now (2%?), when the commish is done, he gives you a fixed rate about 4% (varies) for the life of the loan and impounds for ins and prop taxes are placed. But for most people this works. I will find out more and if anyone is interested in this send me a reply and u can call this lady yourself and check it out. I am going to check it out some more. She is not selling anything, she is just a friend of one of my acquaintances. just FYI that's all thnx!
sorry about my mistake in my last post 2nd paragraph should read "6 to 9 months"
also, you never have to move from your house with this deal
bye!
I agree with Fat Mike - Simple Guy sent me a private message asking if they should go into business with USLA. It felt like a set-up, however I couldn't be sure, so I gave a vague response. Fat Mike, I'm sure you have your reasons, and I would have to believe that it is true. Thanks for the heads-up...
Yes, I talked to Simple Guy too. We got nothing to hide. What's he to do? Send private messages to the D.A.'s office or the A.G. telling them we have unhappy customers outside a restaurant with different versions of being happy? Page 16. 4th comment, Need_Help. I never understood it but I still laugh.
Even though he just brought on a lot more suspicion and sped up the complaint process, you got to hand it Need_Help. The guy worked his ### off on making excuses. It's pretty much over. All these stories and comments match up.
Thank you for reading my post -FatMike.
