We were told that with our reservation the campground was full. Upon arrival we were assigned tent site #4. This tent site is a patch of dirt, no shade anywhere, firepit was a car wheel rusted out with others' trash in it, no grill on the firepit. We asked to be moved and were told they were full. People pulled up in tent site #5 next to us. They also asked to be moved and were moved. These new campers told us this was an awful site, no shade, no trees. Mind you we were told no, that all other sites were taken. The small standup grill that was provided was only for charcoal. So if you didn't have charcoal, you couldn't bbq. When we asked about no grill on the firepit, we were told people only cook hotdogs on a stick. Really? The bathrooms were filthy. The same week we had previously stayed in other KOAs and charged approx $30 for a tent site. This site cost $50 and was considerably below standards for KOA. I expect more from KOA and will seriously consider staying on one again. Please see pictures attached.

My husband and I recently booked a KOA tent site at the Saratoga/Lake George KOA, solely for the purpose of using their pool on a very hot day. We have stayed in numerous KOA's across the country and down the East Coast and have always enjoyed the pools at the KOA's. We have a 33ft fifth wheel so have enjoyed staying in KOA's for years. Well...imagine our surprise when we got to this KOA and saw the pool. First...this is the ONLY KOA in the Saratoga/Lake George region...this region is a recreational paradise. So...we expected a really great KOA. NOT! The pool had about 7-8 old, faded Adirondack chairs to sit in (mismatched) and ONE lounge that was old, faded and broken. The pool deck was made out of rectangular garden pavers...uneven (great for stubbing toes), and there were weeds and grass growing through the pavers...not to mention lots of sand and dirt that, naturally, ends up in the pool. My husband changed into his bathing suit in the bathroom by the office and was appalled at the state of the bathroom. Needles to say, we will NEVER come back to this KOA, despite how nice the management is said to be. We were very disappointed in the quality control at this KOA. It is most definitely NOT up to your usual standards.
