I have lived in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. for 28 yrs. shopping at the Ralphs location at 12202 Highland Ave. in Rancho Cucamonga since the time they first opened. I shop weekly spending a minimum of $300 per week.
I do not choose to have different apps for every place I shop with different passwords to remember for all. Often times I will notice when shopping there is items on sale requiring a digital coupon. I do not understand why it is necessary to have these, you have sale items throughout the store but then you have more sale items which require a digital coupon. Makes no sense. There are times when there is items I frequently buy that are on sale with the digital coupons. When I get to the cash register I will ask the cashier if they can give me the digital coupon price and they usually will accommodate me. Seems like something simple they can do since I spend so much money there. This last Friday 10/13 I went in to do my weekly shopping. The Progresso soup was on sale for $2.49 (which can be bought in many other stores for that price) but with a digital coupon it was $1.29, a great price. I purchased 14 cans of it as my husband suffers from a gluten allergy and many of these soups are gluten free so I wanted to stock up on them for him. Upon getting to the cash register I asked the cashier if she could please give me the digital coupon price, She told me she would that day but it was the last time she would do that for me since she was told by the store manager (Norma) not to do that anymore. She said she asked Norma what are you talking about? Upon which Norma told her "you know that customer that comes in every week, do not do that for her any more and if you need help I will come to your check stand and simply say,"Get the app"and immediately turn and walk away. Oh, that is great customer service! Quite often when I am doing my shopping and Norma (the store manager) is working she will come up to me to talk about her personal life, showing me pictures of her family and food items she has made. Stupid me thought this was out of friendship and caring only to find out now this is really out of phoniness and greed,"keep spending your money her at our store". I used to feel this was my friendly neighborhood grocery store but not anymore and I will never feel that way again. I was pretty naive trusting in human kindness but it pretty much was made clear to me on my shopping trip on Friday these employees working there are only friendly to me because they have to be. I would like to add I purchased 14 cans of the soup that day of which I was only given the sale price on 5 of them.
Desired outcome: I have no desired outcome as there is nothing that can change my opinion at this point, the damage is done. I am totally disgusted with the attitude and failure for good customer service.
