When i went inside to pay for the pump I handed the man $13 and said "THIRTEEN ON ONE", then I left. As I was geting standing there waiting for my tank to fill up he comes out yelling at me to STOP, and he kept on repeating it several time along with "You said fifteen and only gave me thirteen". I corrected him by saying "No i said thirteen and handed you thirteen". He kept insisting that I said Fifteen and since i was ober 56 cents he also demanded 56 cents from me on the spot. He yelled at me infront of several other customers and even took the gas pump out of my car as i was still standing beside it. He yelled once more asking me if I even had 56 cents with a rude tone of voice. When i went into my purse to give him the money, he stood there with his hand out waiting for me to pay him then said, "oh sorry". I did not get his name but I was there at 2pm on August 15, 2009.

He didn't get that way by nature...He wasn't born rude...People did that to him. People who would see that the pump kept going past the $13 and saw it as a theft opportunity...And then the ignorant customer who now feels that that fuel is free refuses to pay the cashier. The cashier who is held responsible now has to pay the drawer out of his pocket.
Do you think that is right? I don't...There are so many non law abiders out there now we have to have you pay in advance for your purchase of gas...There are still some areas in the US where the previous culture is still intact and you pay after you pump your fuel.
I am sorry you had this experience, but the man is just reacting to being ripped off most of the time. He doesn't know if you are going to pull "the gas should be free". That is why he apologized.
