Hello all, I rented a 4 door jeep wrangler from Alamo out of Miami international airport on 8/27/2020. The next day a friend and I went to the beach where I realized I lost the keys to the rental. I called Alamo and they told me they would send a tow truck because they did not have a spare key. I wait for the tow truck driver to come and he picks it up and takes off, all was good. They new key charge was approximately 350$ not a problem. One month later I receive a bill from Alamo for $19,000 saying that the doors were “missing” and the roof was “missing.” On a side note as a renter you don’t have the option to take these things off of the vehicle they’re not able to come off even though it would be nice. Alamo did nothing to help me or figure anything out and after reading and investigating more online it seems Alamo and enterprise are known for these kinds of issues. This is a scam and not fair. Also I had asked their damage department to find out who towed it and where it got towed to, I never got an answer and had to call aaa Florida myself and they stated that the tow truck company noted that nothing was wrong when they picked it up and dropped it back off, just the key was missing which was my fault. This is unbelievable.

Alamo Rent A Car - Denied luxury car rental
On December 20th 2019, I arrived at the "Alamo Rent a Car" Miami International Airport location, to pick up a Luxury Vehicle for which I had a reservation. The Rental Agent began processing my reservation and proceeded to inquire to the Manager as to the possibility of a Miltary or Law Enforcement discount being that I was both Veteran and Law Enforcement.
Mr. Rohan P. Halsall who is the Area Manager came over and informed me that he could not allow me to rent a Luxury vehicle because I possessed a Florida Drivers License. He further stated that it was an Alamo policy being that there was a lot of "fraud" being committed in Florida by people possessing a Fl drivers license. He went even further by stating that the only way he could rent a Luxury vehicle was if I had just got off a plane and had a hotel reservation, which I found to be absurd. So I asked Mr. Halsall to show me the policy and he refused, sayin that it was an internal policy.
So in other words, if I had a license other than Florida which is where I live, I can then rent this vehicle. So after sometime of going back and forth with this incompetent Manager, I proceeded to the next car rental company (Sixth Car Rental) and they gladly rented the exact same Luxury vehicle that I was refused at Alamo, a 2019 Landrover Sport with no issues whatsoever!
Basically Alamo lost $610 on a rental from a loyal customer who holds an Alamo Insider membership, who's spent thousands of dollars as a loyal member because of this Managemer.
Since then I've made several complaints to Alamo complaint department with no response from the company. Finally on 01/30/2019, I again contacted Alamo and provided them with 3 reference numbers regarding the numerous times I called to obtain answers as to why I was denied the rental. And I was told that the reason the vehicle was not rented to me was because I had made the reservation less than 4 hrs on the same day and I was contacted by the General/District Manager? and after discussing the matter with me, they considered the matter resolved. For the record; KNOW ONE IN ALAMO CONTACTED ME NOR SPOKE TO ME! LIES!
Also, let me point out that I had the reservation for over a month prior, but at the Sunny Isle location but decided to modify it to Alamo Miami Intl being that I was closer to that location.
I firmly believe that the Manager at Alamo Miami International Airport, Mr. Rohan P. Halsall discriminated against me because he learned I was a Law Enforcement Officer with US Customs and Border Protection, then lied to his Superior Manager by using the timeframe to for the reservation as an excuse to cover himself from wrongdoing.
I will no longer, ever be renting a vehicle from Alamo.
