Booked a standard site with full hook-ups. I called twice and checked at the front desk in person the middle of October and was told each time we would have sewer, water, elec., cable, picnick table. When we arrived they informed us we would have a lot with no sewer, but they would pump it out twice a week for free. They said that is what they call full hook-ups. It is not. We have stayed at many campgrounds since '02 and they will always tell you if sewer is not available and have to be pumped out. Please inform future renters they do not have full hook-up on these lots. A free pump-out is not full hook-ups.
No picnick table on our lot. We informed the office and nothing was done. My wife and I with a bad back had to carry a broken one from back of property to out site. We were informed that people were stealing them and none were available. A week later in out stay I asked at the office if more tables had been ordered and they said no.
We offered to pay for a upgrade and was told none was available but I counted 5 empty sites the whole time of our reservation. When I asked about moving to one they said people had paid in advance for those. The park rules boldly state that they do not save spaces. Just because someone rents a site they do not own it, just for there use when they are there. The park should have the right to rent these spaces till the new renter arrives.
We wanted to store our RV in the park storage yard and come back down from WV in April. They said we could not because they have to save room for the Canadians that leave there units there till next year. When asked to speak to the manager about these issues I was told that the Park did not have one at this time. The people working in office are Canadian and save spaces for there friends, this is not right. Americans count too, we paid the taxes that built the roads they drive down here on and we should be treated equal. The favoritism toward the Canadians is very great. Please tell the staff to not hold spaces for people,, first come first served, and let people know in advance they will have to get pumped-out. It makes a difference. If we would have known up front, we would have cancelled our stay, which we did cancel our Feb. reservation at this property. Bob Schmidt, call [protected].
