I am complaining about the terrible service I received at Mavis Tire located at 4135 Stn. Mtn Hwy, Lilburn GA., following my complaint of damage to the engine splash shield.
I took my car in on Friday 7/14/23 with the complaint that the car was vibrating on braking. It was determined that the problem was the struts. The 4 struts assembly along the control arm were replaced at a cost of $1511.06.
I drive 160 miles out of town to work. I headed out Monday am at 5:30 only to get a rattling noise at the front of the vehicle. I stopped and found that the splash shield was broken and hanging down. I continued to drive, and the rattling caused by the shield hitting the ground stopped although it remained close to the ground. I took the car in on 7/23/23 with the complaint there was still some vibration with driving and braking and the splash shield was broken. I spoke to the manager on duty and let him know that I was leaving the country for a few weeks. My wife picked up the car on 7/26/23 and took the car home with the work invoice only mentioning a wheel alignment done. The car was not driven until I returned on 8/5/23 and the knocking sound returned after driving for about 5 miles. I noticed that the splash shield had some repairs made that broke and was again hanging down. Not only that, my car had been ransacked with things stolen from the glove compartment and the side pockets including my registration and homeowner's access key card, sunglasses and other minor items. I told the manager of the stolen items and he said, "that's not good". I subsequently realized that he must not have thought I was stating that the items were stolen during the stay at the shop because following pick up it was kept in a closed garage. The manager told us that he was going to replace the splash shield and was ordering it, adding that it would take 3 days to get it repaired. I then borrowed my wife's car to take to work out of town, so she was out of a car. When I called on 8/8/23 I was told that the company said it was being tracked and my wife picked it up on 8/9/23 but it was rattling too much to drive. The manager told me to bring it in so the splash guard could be removed on 8/11/23 so it can be driven because the splash was still not received. I drove the car to work and called on 8/16/23 to get an update. I was told by another person that they are having problems with that dealer and that they are going to order it from another person. I called the morning of 8/18/23 and spoke to the manager who I had dealt with throughout the process. He said he didn't recall what I was talking about. I had to then go detail the entire saga. I then pleaded with him to help resolve the issue. He said the only thing he could do was to call me when the splash shield arrives. I reminded him that I was not sure that the shield was ordered. He repeated the above. I then told him that I was done with him and would write a complaint. I was reluctant to complain about a young manager, but I would be doing Mavis nor him any favors by not reporting such substandard treatment of a customer. No one followed up on anything without my calls and then made no significant effort to resolve the issue. I have since ordered the part from an OEM and will get it replaced at another service station.
Desired outcome: Address the poor treatment at the facility. Reimbursement of charges and losses. (Your choice)SincerelyPaul F McLeod M.D7347 Tidewater Trace, Stone Mountain, GeorgiaPhone [protected]
