October 31, 2023, about 4:55 pm. Cashier did not know what a radish was. I have seen her working there for years Shouldn't she know what a radish is? She charged me for radicchio red for $1.40. When I tried to correct her, she said that she was correct, and acted like she did not understand me. She did not give me my change (about $4.50 and my receipt) She called a floor manager, and he said that I had to go to the service desk. I do not understand why she could not have simply taken the radishes off the receipt. I just did not have time to take additional steps to resolve her error. I always check my receipts, and often find that they have overcharged me. Then I go back immediately to get my money back. I live right next to this Jewel here on Southport near Addison and have spent well over $100,000 over the years. They all know me, because I am there every day. I spend the high prices for the convenience, but now I feel that I will take my business elsewhere. I try to overlook the fact that many workers cannot speak English and are more interested in speaking Spanish to other workers at the checkout. They should pay more attention to the customer. I have grown tired of the poor service.
Desired outcome: I would feel a little better if my change is returned with my accompanying receipt. I have kept every receipt since 2009, so I know how much I spend there.
