Osco pharmacy
Whoever is in charge of the pharmacy needs to evaluate their staff and their ability to do their job and tell the truth. I have just spent the last 3 hours of my day which is New Year's Eve playing games with the pharmacy. I called this morning at 9:30 A. M to be told that my prescription would be ready in an hour. After waiting 2 hours I went to go pick it up only to be told it would be another hour. I waited as not to have to go home and come back. After an hour I returned to be told 15 more minutes. Again I waited. When I returned for the 3rd time I was told 20 minutes more, where I then complained about being stalled all day. The girl then informed me "we are working on it as we speak" After several minutes another worker came up and told me he was sorry but they didn't have the medicine in stock! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE? Do you understand how frustrating this is? The real topper is this is Not the first time this has happened here. The exact same thing happened to my husband when I asked him to pick up our son's medication 3 weeks ago! Who is in charge of this pharmacy? People have lives and better things to do than to drive around killing time to pick up medicine that isn't even there. What the hell are you doing? You should be ashamed, a big well known company treating customers with no respect, shame on you Osco.
Desired outcome: I would like a response and for the employees of the pharmacy to be held accountable for lying to the customer.
Customer service floral department Skokie IL location
If I can give this Jewel 0 stars I would. I was shopping for flowers today with my elderly mother. Saw a bunch of boquets of roses and was searching for perfect one. Saw mom wandering away and placed the boquet on top of flowers. Keep in mind it weighs nothing its just flowers. I hear someone yelling in the background put those flowers back into water and...

Every week I buy Quinoa bread from Grace Baking. It's totally aggravating to experience empty shelves 3 out of 5 trips. This is a popular item. Why can't you treat it as such with more consistent stocking. By the way at 7am the morning you were also out of Organic half and half. Wait time for check out. Today I shopped at the canal street location at 7am...

I am an 87-year-old citizen living on a fixed income. Jewel is the only grocery store in my town, so I shop there frequently. I look forward to the weekly food advertisements. In comparing prices, I feel discriminated against since I can’t afford a telephone with apps. I’m sure there are many people in my circumstances who look at your ads (for example, $.88 with app, otherwise $3.99) and feel the same discrimination as I do.
Perhaps you could provide a Senior ID such as a card or key chain tag so we can enjoy the same privileges as your other customers.
I look forward to your response so I can enjoy shopping at Jewel.
Sincerely,
Beverly Bach

Customer service
I was grocery shopping at this store around 2pm today (riding a wheelchair cart because I am disabled). An employee wearing a black Jewel's apron (who told me he was the Manager for that section when I asked) approached me as I was selecting packages of bacon from the store's usual breakfast meats display case. He told me to as go over to the center aisle...

Date of store visit was today, 12/15/2022 time: 7:30 am, location: 16625 W 159th St., Lockport, IL 60441.
My visit to the store had been early morning, however, necessary due to time restrictions required my 7:30 am store visit. Upon spending an hour or so gathering items off my shopping list, I had approached the check-out counters to find all of them closed except for one which happened to be the 15 items or less "express" lane. People were looking at me as if I were committing a serious "grocery offense" with my 40 plus items in my cart, so I was literally forced to use the "self-service" registers that I, on any given day, avoid due to my precious time having to learn a new skill".
I began swiping one at a time with a line forming behind me pressuring me to go faster and a store aid who apparently watching that we were not stealing or may need tutoring assistance. This is a disgrace to everyone who spends good money at Jewel"consistently"as I have in the past. We/I do not deserve the answers from the check-out aid that"... I was too early for shopping and that the store does not have check-out cashiers until later on in the morning..."which was an absurd excuse. I had to leave several items such as"produce items"and"bottle of Rum" needed for weekend because I do not have the time nor the patience to learn Jewel Foods check-out curriculum. I will have to travel a few more miles to the closest Meijer's Market for my larger shopping items in the future.
In the past I had let small things go regarding new baggers placing canned goods on my eggs, or one man in particular who was carrying on an extensive conversation with a young girl, knowing that the line was building behind me, but this morning was the limit of poor service by this store.
Desired outcome: Hire and pay checkers to remain working in your stores. Or, open up a full service check out register without item limits!
Customer service desk people were lazy
I was looking for miso and when the customer service person asked me what it was she said check the Asian aisle. I told her I did and anyway I think it's supposed to be refrigerated. She asked the guy next to her who said to try the Asian aisle. When I said again that I did he finally called someone on a walkie who said to check the Asian aisle in front. That was actually the dumbest answer because that's where the pasta is. I went to a different store to buy it and when I got home I sent a complaint to Jewel (Eric [protected]) and their response was that they do have miso and I should have asked the manager. They also said they would talk to the store director to "make this right". When I wrote back asking how they're going to make it right when they didn't even ask me who the customer service people were, I didn't receive a response. I guess you don't really try to serve customers, you just hand out boilerplate platitudes.
Desired outcome: Tell me where in the store I can find miso and maybe don't put your laziest at the customer service desk.
Lockport store overall
Hello,
I grew up shopping at Jewel and it's a good grocery store. I recently moved from Plano IL, to Lockport, IL and I thought you should know a few things about the Lockport store. Overall it's a clean organized store, but I noticed it doesn't stock many organic or clean items. It used to sell organic arugula when I first went there, but I don't see it anymore. It doesn't sell any Orchard Valley pastured items such as cream or cheese. There are probably other people who would purchase this if it were there.
In addition, I've been there in the afternoon and evening and the deli personnel are really kind of rude. I know dealing with the public is difficult, but they are not very pleasant and that made my husband not want to go back.
I found some of these issues in the Yorkville Jewel, so I went to try the WalMart in Plano, IL after not going there for about 6 years. It turned out that the WalMart had stocked things that I never thought they would so I made that a regular stop. Don't let this happen to your store.

Store manager
I would like to make a complaint about Nancy, the store manager at the 4660 W. Irving Pk, Chicago location. I had mistakenly left home without my wallet but with my checkbook as I went to a dental appt. I only realized it when I went to pay for my sandwich at a Subway but the person allowed my to punch in my cc info manually to pay for it. I then stopped at...
Read full review of Jewel-OscoAttire and attitude of Jewel cashier
Elmhurst store #3346, 10/31/2022 16:55: Cashier 'Hazel' was attired in a cleavage displaying, high leg cut 'bathing suit' type top (you know, the kind requiring 'bikini waxing'?) and a very low cut sort of skirt; and spent her time during our encounter discussing personal matters with her colleague ( the bagger) and repeatedly called me 'hon' or 'dude'. I have tired of waiting for help in retail outlets while a 'partner' or 'member' finished their personal cell phone calls, but a half-nude cashier is just one step over the line. I am not a prude, as part of the Woodstock generation, but work is work, and personal time is personal time. Also as a 10 year former Osco Pharmacist who always wore a crisp white shirt and tie, dress trousers and white company smock, never discussed personal matters in public and who made his personal calls during break times, I am appalled at what passes for employee public behavior.
Desired outcome: Require uniform work attire and no personal calls or discussions in front of the public (in English OR Spanish - Hablo Español, y Usted?). I will shop where y business is appreciated. Understad, dude?
Terrible quality control
Late this afternoon I purchased a $19.99 cake and a dozen roses from the Jewel store at Lincoln and Berteau in Chicago. Both were for my daughter's birthday, but when I placed the flowers in a vase upon returning home, over 100 petals immediately came raining down onto the counter. Clearly the flowers were old and nearing the end of their natural life. I returned them and the manager allowed me to do an exchange. My family and I then proceeded to celebrate my daughter's birthday, and when we cut into the cake I had bought, it was nearly inedible — completely dried out, stale and tasteless. It was a round "rainbow cake" with buttercream frosting, and never in my life have I purchased such a disappointing cake from a store. I don't know if the cake sat for weeks before being frosted, or was possibly frozen and then unfrozen, but it was disgusting. The quality control at this particular store is TERRIBLE and I rarely shop there anymore, because when I do there is almost always a problem. Fruit is often rotten at the time of purchase and it is not uncommon for products to be sold well past their sell-by date. Wing zings are almost always stale and old, and I have even purchased supposedly fresh meat that was already spoiled on the same day of purchase. Seriously, you need better quality control!
Desired outcome: I'll call the store tomorrow. I will likely return the cake for a refund, if only because there needs to be a consequence. This store used to be my "go-to" for groceries but over time I've been forced to find alternative options.
Weekly ad the week of 10/19 thru 1025
On Friday October 21 at 6:30 pm
I tried purchasing this item.
The seafood section of the weekly
flyer had Waterfront Bistro Shrimp
26-30 ct. Cooked Shrimp
For $8.99 per lb. No where did it
specify that you had to purchase
2 lbs for that price. Also the price was
no where to be found in the
refrigerated case. Very deceptive
Advertising on the companies
part. Strive to make sure the ads
are more clearly marked, it would
make shopping more pleasant.
Desired outcome: I’ll let the company decide the outcome.Richard Augustyn1731 Pavilion Way, Unit 205Park Ridge, IL 60068
Rude Grocery Pickup Attendant
On September 28th 2022 at 4:30pm I went to Jewel Osco (716 Ridge Rd, Munster Indiana) to pick a grocery order I ordered online. I don't know the guys name but the worker(tall black guy with glasses about 28 or 30 years old) was rude not answering questions I had and acting cold, then he took my cart and put it back for no reason when he already knew I needed it for my order. Thank you

I have been going to Jewel/ Osco store #303 for over 30 years. It’s only a few blocks away so it’s convenient but mediocre as a store. Today, 10/12/22 , I can’t even say mediocre…way understaffed, unkept shelves, expired products. I was checking out with a full weeks worth of groceries at 11 am only to find one register open and 7 customers waiting in line with carts full. This is not the first time. I also never get a bagger. I decided to self checkout and of course that was full due to one register open. When I started checking out..of course I ran out of room to place bags..the scanner stops until a clerk comes to clear it..which happened numerous times..plus she was the only one running customer service and self checkout! I know times are tough but we as the consumer have it the worst. We are paying your skyrocketing prices, insufficient staffing and poor product quality. Mainly, this is said of your Store #303 (Clarendon Hills store)When I complained and asked to speak to a manager, Pete) ..it took awhile and when he did appear ..he looked down shrugged and said sorry as he walked away. Unacceptable. What I’m looking for is corporate to finally send a competent manager. This store has been through many (as mentioned have been a customer for over 30 yrs) and never once has that store changed in a positive way. A good manager will take pride in his store and get things done. Hoping that your corporation will look into this and not ignore.
Respectfully , a soon to be Mariano’s customer.
Desired outcome: A better managed store with quality products.
Security/Loss Prevention
On 10/07/2022 at 1224 S Wabash in Chicago Illinois, the security staff in JEWEL-OSCO called CPD and reported a fabricated story of an "armed robbery" involving customers within the store. In the cases they have raw chicken next to cooked shrimp. I told them about it over the weekend and the employees agreed it was not right.
There is no way to guarantee the chicken and shrimp will not be cross contaminated.
I returned today 10/6 and it was the same set up. I informed the cashier and once again she agreed it was a health issue.
Really need to assess your procedures. This could make people very sick or even cause death.
Joe
Desired outcome: Change your business practice and hire knowledgeable people to audit the stores. Also empower people to make decisions.
Front end manager
Barbara who runs the self-checkout during the day shift berated a sweet, defenseless young gentleman afflicted w/ special needs for God’s sake. He was in the bathroom cleaning the bathroom floor grout w/ a toothbrush she chastised him for apparently taking TOO long of a time according to the clock in her head. I was shocked and appalled to the day the...
Read full review of Jewel-Oscogift card
I purchased a Wayfair gift card in April 2022 at the Clinton Jewel Osco as a birthday gift for my boyfriend. When he went to use it about a month ago, he was told that it was not activated- when he spoke to someone at Wayfair. I brought it to the assistant manager of the Clinton store and he informed me that he had to call someone higher up or corporate to see what he should do about this. I had the card and also my American Express bill showing that I had bought this in April. The assistant manager got disconnected several times before finally being able to speak to someone about this. After all of this, I was told that there would have to be an investigation. The assistant manager took pictures of the my credit card bill and the card. This was over a week ago. Over the years, I have purchased many gift cards from this store and have never had a problem. I am very disappointed at how this has been handled. This card was for $150.00 which is a lot of money to me. Both myself and my boyfriend shop at your stores frequently. I would simply like a replacement card.
Thank you,

Fresh produce
I have been going to the Jewel Osco (Store 3485) for 30 years. On my most recent trip on 9/13 I have to question if I will ever go back. I wanted to buy fresh produce and had to leave and go to Marriano's. Your produce department is a mess. You had only 10 tomatoes, which were so old, they should have been taken off the shelf. There were no strawberries (only organic), the zucchini was terrible and also should have been taken off the shelf, and there were no heads of cauliflower, only cut up heads. What has happened to this store?
Desired outcome: Have fresh produce.
missed marked items, overcharged and customer service was rude
I was at store 224 today(09/08/22) at 15:59, My cashier was Stormy. I was overcharged for item I did not purchase. I went to customer service and went through my bill. Red and green grapes were in a bin marked ,99 They were put in the wrong bin, and I was charged 3.99 a pound for red and1.99 for green. An end cap had Downey marked for 8.99 and I was charged10.99. Cascade dishwasher pods were marked at 5.99 and I was charged 7.99 Jewel potato salad was marked 1.99 a pound and I was charged 3.83. I returned grapes, downey and cascade, Did not notice potato salad till now. I shop at this store once a week, and usually spend 200.00 I do not have time to go through my bill every single time. The gentleman at service counter was rude. I asked him about another item, and he said he would have to return everything and start over. I was never asked or did he offer to check where the signs were wrong or to replace items with sale price. I will be shopping elsewhere. I work 2 jobs, and don't have time to go through receipt item by item. 3 employees were just goofing around and there was only 2 registers open.
Desired outcome: I would like a gift card and some compensation. I, also, get all my medicine from this store.
