I am a longtime Jewel shopper. I'm talking decades. I rarely have a problem and if I do, it is typically resolved quickly.
This is the second time I'm writing this year. Earlier I wrote about the horrible attitude of one of your employees who still works there, still spewing negativity every time I see him. But that's your problem because I have options. Especially since I live exactly midway between Jewel and Marianos...
This year I am noticing food quality that is just subpar. First I received spoiled blackeyed peas. Three weeks ago I purchased tuna salad from your deli which was also spoiled.
Yesterday I purchased a $6 meal of meatloaf, mashed potatoes and broccoli. The mashed potatoes were spoiled and the broccoli was on its last leg.
Someone in your facility needs to be more diligent with food safety. In the meantime, I'm taking a break from Jewel. The store is always empty, your staff continue to lack customer service skills. And I can spend my money elsewhere.
Jewel-Osco - staff - unprofessional
I visited Jewel Osco at 9:00 pm on 443 E 34th Street for a feminine item that I needed ASAP and it was locked in a case. It took over 15 minutes for someone to assist me when there were at least 6 active staff members standing idle, laughing and joking. When I asked the cashier, Maya, for assistance, she didn't call anyone and just said "Yeah it's 9:15, they are getting ready to or gone already." Someone else called for assistance 5 minutes later.
Even if I came in at 9:45 p.m, I should still be able to receive assistances! I shop at this store often and I'm applauded at their poor customer service and lack of urgency to assist guests. If this continues, I will shop elsewhere.
Jewel-Osco - employee complaint
The liquor manager at 34th & King Drive admitted to smoking marijuana which is against company policy. Melvin is constantly being heard in the aisles talking out loud and being rude being disrespectful calling customers "fat [censored]" & "[censored]" Melvin the liquor manager need to make sure he is not heard in aisle being rude and disrespectful calling customers names.
The liquor manager admitted that smokes marijuana on his breaks from work and this was admitted quite recently. I feel strongly that JewelOsco shouldn’t be hiring drug addicts.
