I went in for new tires and rear brakes. They told me that my front shocks were leaking, the back struts should be replaced, my antifreeze AND transmission fluid failed their test and needed replacement and recommended that I replace 2 belts. Considering I was at the dealer only 4 months earlier (for a sensor replacement recall) and they found none of these issues I was very suspicious. When I left NTB I had the tire pressure light on my dash, and was told I needed to drive the car and the light would go off. So the following day, with the tire pressure light still on, I took my car to my fathers mechanic. My antifreeze and transmission fluid passed their test with no issues, my front shocks were in fact NOT leaking, the 2 belts they wanted to replace...well guess what? My car only has 1 belt! And it was in perfect shape. On top of all this, one of the valve stems was installed improperly and the tires were overinflated...which is why the dash light was on. I understand that they have recommendations based on a car's mileageand I don't know what NTB's quotas are, but this was a flagrant attempt to rip me off and I will NEVER return to NTB again!

Told them I had the P420 code on check engine cause me to fail emission. I told
Them I need new top catalytic converter. They tested it and agreed that was the issue. Replaced catalytic converter. 1.5 days later
Check engine light goes on. I go back after that weekend which was 4 days after I got
The job done(10/24/17). They tested and said now there are 4 more Check engine codes and none of them are related to P420. When I first got the car back it was a little louder but 4 weeks later car is extremely loud. Plus 4 codes are going off plus P420 code. So, there are 2 options: 1; either they knew about the other codes when I first went in for the work(10/24/17) and said nothing because they knew I would not have paid for all that work at once( I was hesitant about the $900 P420 job and was trying to negotiate for lower rate.) or 2; when I got the job done only the P420 code was on and they did such a crappy job (either on purpose or on accident) that they messed with the vapor tubes and then those codes went off.
I went in yesterday 11/4/17 and told them all the codes are on including the one I went there for them to fix. The p420 code they said they would fix for $850 and the car is very loud. Ashur said the sound has nothing to do with the work they did and a particular part that is making noise “just goes bad sometimes” I clearly
Showed them it had to have been touched that part in order to fix catalytic converter. Which they obviously touched and messed with. He said the p420 code is going off because of the part that is making all the noise. It is not a coincidence that the part making noise is the part connected the the top catalytic converter.
He also claims to not have known about any other code but the p420 when I originally went in for a quote of the job. Like I previously explained this must be a lie. Because it is also no coincidence that 3 days after I got the job done the check engine light went back on with 5 codes.
Ive felt with shady Mechanics but this is beyond that. This is lying and stealing
