Shoppers - Chicken salad

I purchased a chicken salad from the largo, maryland location. I was eating the chicken and had an object stuck in my gum when I was chewing. It appeared to be part of an animal.

I called customer service and due to covid, I realized it would take some time getting back with me. I called back a month later only to be informed my case was closed. I am glad I placed the rest of the chicken salad in the freezer along with the foreign object and the origin container.

To date I can't eat tuna salad, or chicken salad. If anyone has had a similar incident please post. I purchased the chicken salad may 2020

The photo below is the original package and the foreign object is in the plastic bag.

Consumer beware 😥

Shoppers - cashier

After nearly twenty years of business with Shoppers Food Warehouse, I've
regrettably considered pulling the plug. Last night, I experienced a one-sided tussle with a sassy cashier I believe may have been working there for only less than a year. I've just started noticing her on occasion, and usually try to avoid her line because she always appears fussy, and not so much in a good mood. I even elected to select one of the self-checkouts yesterday after seeing her line nearly empty, but they were all occupied. As my son and I walked into her line (20 items or less), I glanced down into my cart and noticed that my son had loaded a few more items than expected. The cashier also glanced into my cart, with a weary expression, and stated that it contained a bit more items than the limit. I agreed, and asked, inquisitively, if the noodles (20 packets), priced at 10/$3.00, could be bundled as a group, and thereby calculated as a single purchase? I've seen other cashier's type in the full quantity of items matching (as with multiple packs of kool-aid), which consolidates the total cost of the item on the receipt, as though it were a single purchase. I figured understanding and performing this process during future visits would also help to increase my speed at self-checkouts. The cashier blurts out "Look I'm not going to argue with you over this, because I don't want to", and completes the rest of her sentence mumbling. I felt a bit offended by her tone. So, I turned towards her and responded "Neither do I." I realized right then and there that walking into her line was a big mistake, because she was obviously quick tempered, with an attitude already. I've always thought that it was also a part of the cashier's job to assist customers with questions. How could we have gone that quick from a simple question to a one-sided argument. I reasoned that the girl may have been already upset about something else that occurred earlier that day, before I arrived, or mentally deficient. Regardless of reason, I cared not to deal with it. I stopped there simply to purchase a few groceries, and head home. By this time, more customers had started entering the line, which the cashier apparently saw as a perfect opportunity for staging another debut. I'm sure this wasn't her first time, because she did it too comfortably, as though she loved to arguing. I however, am one for peace and quiet, and not interested at all in show-boating. So, I tried my best to maintain a calm and disciplined posture. I've always perceived ghetto behavior as a display of ignorance, and lack of morality. Just as the saying goes, "Never argue with a fool, people may not know the difference." She started grabbing, scanning, and bagging my goods in a rush, similarly as one being forced by a parent to wash dishes at bedtime. I started setting each bag down into the cart, as fast as she placed them aside, and glanced over onto the conveyor belt at what I thought to have been a jar about to fall from the counter. I suddenly reached over to grab the jar and placed it over further onto the conveyor belt. The cashier suddenly stopped what she was doing, stepped back from the counter, knowing that everyone in line was watching, and starred at me with a sick expression for approximately 10 seconds, as though to suggest that I'm getting on her last nerve. She then asked if I was finished, with a dreaded expression, as though she was speaking with a child. I'm 52, by the way! She appears to be in her twenties! I stared back and responded "Yes!" Containing my emotions at this point was becoming quite a challenge. I happen to hold status as Supervisor at my place of employment, and am not use to tolerating such arrogance. Normally, I would have fired her on the spot with hesitation, but that's just me! Of course, there were no giggles heard amongst any on-lookers, as I'm sure everyone had realized by now that the cashier was the aggressor with issues, and practically bagging to be fired. Calling for a manager at this point probably would seem to have been a good idea, but I got the impression that management there was probably too relaxed as it was, which may explain also why she was acting a fool, taking such pleasure in humiliating the customers. The one's who actually contribute towards her salary. She resumed scanning and bagging the remains, once again, with a sick expression, and I continued loading my cart, looking forward to the end of this trifling encounter. I quickly paid for the goods with a debit card and proceeded to leave. As I pushed the cart away, I could hear the cashier greeting the next customer in line cheerfully, as though her blood pressure had suddenly subsided, which proved my perception of the whole display being all for show, to impress her girlfriend. Twenty years of shopping at this location, and never have I been humiliated with such disrespect. Actually, a few years ago, there was another cashier who seemed to have been having a bad day, and invited a [censored] fight with me, apparently in an attempt to relieve a bit of stress, but I declined to engage. Not long after that she disappeared. So, I guess she may have either quit, or was fired. This is the second strike for Shoppers Food Warehouse, and I'm not even sure if it's worth hanging around for a third. I've always been addressed professionally while visiting other grocery stores in my vicinity (Safeway, Giant, Wagmans, Weis, or Food Lion), but chose to remain with Shoppers Food Warehouse, because it was my preferred source. Leading up to the final moments, as I prepared to leave the line, I even noticed the security guard, another female, had eased across the floor, nearly standing behind the cashier, apparently ready to dash into action in support of the aggressor, should it be necessary to rescue this damsel in distress from the ferocious male. Forgot to mention the fact that I happen to be African American, which basically explains the disrespect. I guess it may have been quite disappointing to some, if not all, to see that I wasn't as possibly hoodlum as initially anticipated. I like referring to myself as being one of intelligence, and well-disciplined. All the young lady had to do was suggest processing up to the limit at her counter, and instructing me to complete the rest at any other counter, self-checkout, or re-entering her line from the rear, and I would have agreed generously. After all, I've been shopping there every week for nearly twenty years now, and have literally watched some of the staff age. My teenage son stood and watched in silence at all that had transpired, and I counseled him upon leaving the store to pay close attention to everything you see, because your turn is coming too, in the days ahead, just like every other black man. I told him that it's just something he'll have to grow accustomed to as a black male in society. Shamefully, at the hands of his own race! Because it's what blacks learn and live daily, and then ridiculously blame on the white race! Naturally, had I been Caucasian, there would have been an entirely different outcome to the whole visit, as usual, because it's all textbook. I'm not sure if there will be any disciplinary action taken against this cashier, which I'm sure she's probably counting on anyway, but at least I've attempted to do a little more than just sitting back with a pout.
