On Monday November 6th, 2023 I went to my local Walgreens to pick up my husbands prescriptions. I went up to the counter and told the clerk my information and told him I have 2 coupons for these medications on my phone, I handed him my phone and he tried to put in the information into the computer. I could tell he wasn't really sure how to do it. After a few minutes. he had asked a co-worker to help him. A young lady came over and told him he was putting in the wrong information to another medicine. She then looks at me and says to me does your husband have insurance? I said yes, he has NYSHIP she says to me in front of everyone in the pharmacy area your double dipping. I was shocked, appalled but most of all embarrassed. I said to her I'm not double dipping the company sent me these coupons and I have used them here for years. she again said to me that's double dipping and she walked away. I was so embarrassed and aggravated I told the clerk I'm not taking the prescription just please ring me up the other item that I have I'll come back tomorrow for his medications. I left the store in shock and stressed. I sat in my car for a minute and called the store to speak to a manager the women said yeah that was me you spoke to. I asked for her name, and she told me it was Rachel I then asked to speak to her manager she told me yeah, she isn't here she'll be here next week. I told her that she accused me of stealing and that was not true, and I am a loyal paying customer for years and the way you're speaking to me and accusing me its right. She said that's the term we use double dipping. I said you need to change that saying because it's not right. I again told her the company gave me these coupon's and I've used them here for years. She was very rude and disrespectful to me, and I told her that. She then hung the phone up on me. When I got home, I called corporate and spoke to a woman and told her everything. She said she was sorry for my experience and that she put in a complaint, and someone form corporate will contact me no one has contacted me. My husband went to Walgreen the next day November 7th to pick up his 2 prescription's and paid $120.00 with the two coupon's Jardiance and Eliquis I should have only paid $20.00. they told my husband that he needs new coupons. I called both of these manufactures, and they told me that the coupons are valid and I shouldn't have paid full price.
We have been very loyal customers for years at Walgreens I have never had this kind of experience here and honestly, I don't want to go back I'm looking into my husband's insurance to see if there another pharmacy chain that takes his insurance.
thank you for your time.
