Advance Auto Parts - Customer service

Today I stopped at Store#07429, 4250 McKinley Parkway, Hamburg, NY 14075 purchasing some cleaning products for my vehicle. Now we are all under a lot of stress with inflation, our crappy weather here in the Buffalo area. So, an act of kindness would go a whole lot further than what I witnessed when I was leaving the store. I gentleman came in the store told the staff that he had a flat tire out in the parking lot and his jack wouldn't go under the car, and asked the staff if he could borrow a jack to help him out. The female manager said absolutely not, but you could buy one. Now, come on. This guy is already stressed out, he was in business clothes. If I had my 5 ton jack in my truck I would have given him a hand, but being more than ten miles from my house, there was nothing I could do so I just left. I had a similar situation last year when I ran out of gas. I walked to the closest car repair business, and asked if I could borrow a gas can to walk to the gas station to get fuel. Yes, it was my fault for letting the gas get that low, but the owner gave me a small can and I walked the rest of the way, got my gas and the following day I stopped and bought a ten dollar gift card from the local coffee shop and returned his gas can and thanked him for the use of his can.

If the manager would have had a little decency, offered the guy a jack to use, gone out to give hand. This would have gone a lot further, than telling him no but you could buy one. As for myself, I am no longer going to buy from this store any longer because of her rudeness. We are living in a time when we really need to doing more in customer service, than just getting someone in the store, to buy product.

This is just my opinion, but I believe your management need to bush up on the customer relation skills.
