We booked our flight for our honeymoon and paid our flight, baggage fees and upgraded seats at that time. We paid $771, then the next day we see they charged another $184 without contacting us to get authorization for this charge! When we contacted them, turns our they charged this fee for our upgraded seats, which we had already paid the agreed to price of $338, now they upped it to $522! The seats are now costing more than double what the flight was! They refuse to make any adjustment even though I have the original invoice showing we were already charged for our seat upgrade - TOTAL SCAM! I would completely cancel and rebook through a reputable site but they refuse to refund my money!
Desired outcome: Refund either the $184 overcharge or refund the full $956.14 so we can book through a reputable site
CheapOair - Ticket refund issue for booking #66107696
I booked flights for me and my son in January 2020 for flights to Israel via American Airlines and El Al Airlines in June 2020 for $2, 532. Then Covid came in March and the Airlines cancelled the flights and stated we were approved refunds back to our credit card. I was texted refund approval via text to my phone from El Al airlines. (Which I still have)-I was then approved for a refund by Cheapoair for both tickets in May. I had contacted our attorney general's office by that time to investigate Cheapoair, and they responded to the AG's office that the tickets were approved for refund and they will be processed accordingly. Come September 1st, I get an email stating my refund had been processed for both tickets totalling $2473.22 as they said the booking fees were not refundable. Well, of course, the $2, 473.22 never was refunded by Cheapoair. That was just a BS email to keep us stringing along. I called on November 7, 2020 inquiring about the refund. I was told it would take 2 billing cycles to appear on the credit card statement and to wait until the end of November. I waited and well, you guessed it, no refund or anything again. Now, every time I call Cheapoair, all I get is "we contacted the billing department, and they say yes you should get it soon." I have called Cheapoair everyday since December 1. We are now going into the 3rd billing cycle, the billing department doesn't seem to know where my money is. (They said it is lost between the airlines and their billing department? So as I am beginning to see and realize that they will not give me my money back, I went ahead and again called the Arkansas Attorney General's Office and reopened my case. I have just gotten off the phone with my caseworker at the AG's office and as of this week, she had let me know that the company Cheapoair are playing games and that she is turning it over to one of the the attorneys to file a lawsuit on our behalf.
My advice to everyone, is to contact your local Attorney General's Office in your state and file a complaint. This way, they can all join forces and file a Class Action Lawsuit against this company.
