Safeway - Pharmacy

On Friday may 19th I went in person to the pharmacy to reorder 3 meds.

Two of them had zero refills. Dew to financial reasons I asked for a 30 day refill instead of my normal 90 day.

The two prescriptions with no refills needed to be sent to my Doctors office for approval. I told the clerk more than once that I only wanted a 30 day supply. On Thursday the 25th I went to the pharmacy to pick up the one med that was ready. At that time I asked the clerk about the other two.

She told me that the doctor hasn't sent over the approval yet. I told her I would call the doctor and I would be back tomorrow.

I'm not sure if I was lied to at the pharmacy, because when I spoke with the office staff at the doctor they told me that they had just received the request at 10:30 today (25th).

It seems like someone dropped the ball last Friday and forgot to email my requests to my doctor. When I was there yesterday at the Pharmacy I reaffirmed that I only wanted a 30 day supply due to financial reasons. Yesterday I received a call from the doctor and was told that they expedited my refills ASAP because the pharmacy told them I was out.

NOT TRUE. You can't cry Wolf to doctor and expect to maintain an honest working relationship with them.

Today my meds were ready and it seems crying wolf worked.

Even though I requested just 30 day refills, I got my normal 90 day supply.

Before I left the pharmacy I voiced my displeasure on their customer service. All I got was a thank you.

Things have greatly improved at the pharmacy since the covid issues have improved, but it seems that they are unable to adjust to customer needs when out of the norm.

Money is so tight, I can't afford an extra 30 mile round trip for meds. Especially when I planned it a week in advance.

Desired outcome: Just an FYI, notify the clerk to be honest with the customer. She had to have known someone forgot to email my doctor with my request last week.I'm more upset that she wasn't honest with me yesterday.

Safeway - sale techniques: overcharging.

We have noticed for some time now check out is a 2 (two) person job, one to feed the checker and one to inform the checker of prices, especially the "Just 4 U" sales that need to be loaded before shopping or during. Even the member sales (red card) have to be questioned. We started checking our receipts and have noticed a sharp increase in over pricing even with personal guidance at the check-out. We have been repeatedly told that, what ever sale missed while scanning will be caught at the end. And that is sometimes true. However, when re-checking our receipts there seems to be issues. We live 20+ miles from this store so the onezee, twozee dollar overcharges are not worth the return for a refund. But 5, 6, 10, and recently $20.00 + are becoming extreme. My thought at this point is with this big of store how many others are being dis-serviced? I think this may be a big percentage. Upon our return for refund (1-12-20) we again expresses our displeasure and requested a gas voucher of which a distant/unpleased mgr. gave us $10. for the inconvience while stating this is a one time only gift. Of which I stated, unless your system fails and over charges, correct? I feel this may have fallen on deaf ears. So my trust in your sale rewards marketing strategy and media requirements, i.e. downloaded app. Just 4 U, Weekly ad and scanning throught the store, is highly questionable and time consuming. Our time is worth something too! This issue needs to be resolved soon, or you will lose us as customers and we will tell as many people as we can of the price gouging and overcharging. Over the past 4 1/2 years we estimate we have been overcharged to the tune of $200.00. With the cost of food these days you need to be trusted, not known for gouging. J.B. Turner
