The complaints that I have read about Food Lion are all viable. Just another example of how large stores and Corporate America view customers. There has been talk of a Piggly Wiggly. Not sure of when or if that may come to pass. That is what we need. Then we could boycott Food Lion by taking are business elsewhere. Food Lion has a monopoly. They know it and they are going capitalize for as long as they can. One more thing! Don't you just love the way they raise prices during the PEAK SEASON! That MVP card is a joke! What a play on words. Some marketing gimmick!
I will no longer be shopping at any Food Lion Supermarkets. I do not appreciate having to make an unneccessary step at the checkout line when using my credit/debit card. I am talking about the card readers that require the customer to first enter 1 for English and 2 for Espanol. The readers will not do anything unless one of these languages are selected. I live in South Carolina, which is well over 1, 000 miles from the nearest Mexican border. This is "My" country and we speak "English" in the United States. I do not go to another country and expect them to require their businesses to change their way of doing things to make it easier to spend my money there. Most Mexicans here do not even have Credit Cards. They don't believe in banks. Anyway, I will buy my groceries elsewhere even if I have to pay a few dollars more. My family feels the same way. Stop your greed for the almight dollar and let us be Americans. Mexicans can learn to speak our language if they want to benefit from living in our country.
