National Tire & Battery [NTB] - Spark plugs

It happened on 7/16/21 between 10:01 AM and 01:19 PM.
Customer: [protected]
Order Number: [protected]

To change 4 spark plugs I was charged $248.58. The plugs provided were priced at 4X their market value ($38.33/spark plug so $153.32 for 4 plugs!) For a Hyundai, not a Bentley, this is really unacceptable since business like NTB buy parts with a discount, so each plug should have cost no more than $9. Was the price of 38.33 for a pack of 4 plugs (as it should have been) and they multiplied this by 4, like they installed me 16 plugs? Everybody I talked to told me I was ripped off big time.

I also had to wait 3 hours for such a simple operation (the plugs are easily accessible in a Hyundai Accent).

Desired outcome: Refund.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] - New tiers

On 6/2/2020 I had my tires replaced on my Ford F150 at NTB. I paid $1, 434.04 for this service.
On 6/7/2020 I walked out and looked at my front driver side tire. It looked low. All of my tires looked low. The tire pressure ranged between 30 to 33 pounds. The employees did not even get the tire pressure the same. If I didn't notice that how bad would I have worn those tires?
I called NTB in 13609 N I35 Bldg. 7 Austin TX 78753
Spoke to a wonderfully inept person. I asked if he could tell me what the tire pressure was supposed to be. He didn't seem to know how to answer my question. I informed him these are the exact same tires I got from my last visit to the same NTB. Since he had no answer, I said, "it goes by what the label in the door on my vehicle says, correct?" He did reply yes and I informed him that I just had new tires put on and they did not have the correct air pressure on them. He said "just put more air in them." I sarcastically thanked him for the great service to which he replied, "you're welcome" and hung up.
A little background information: I've purchased these same tires from the same NTB before. I swore I would never go back. I wasted the money for a lifetime rotation because I took it in for a rotation and they did not do it. Not only once, but multiple times. The last time I took it in for a rotation, I marked my tires on the inside. They would have seen the makings if they had rotated them. When I went to pick up my truck it was in the parking lot. I checked my tires before going in, and no, they did not rotate them… again. So, I went in and informed them of this. The employees, of course, said they did rotate them. I informed them I am not going to argue with them because I marked the tires and they are in the same spot. They didn't flat out call me a liar, but it sure was implied. I ended up having to take it elsewhere to get them rotated. The whole ordeal was a pain. The place I took it to said they looked like they were never rotated, because of the wear.
Again, I swore off NTB and informed everyone I know of their poor service.

I have heard everyone say Discount Tire was good, so I went to them. I found out that they had to order the tires and that it could be a while before they came in. Then, I found out NTB was only $6 more per tire. So, I went against my better judgment and purchased from NTB again. They tried to push the rotation for life package again. I laughed.
So, I feel once again NTB is not the place to go. I am sure this letter won't accomplish anything, if it's even read at all. But I did it for me as well as the hope that someone will read this and something will be done unless, of course, this is common customer service for NTB.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] - Liars, crooks, and manipulators

This shop will rip you off. I had several friends warn me not to go but it was Sunday; it was an emergency; and they were the only place open. Boy! do I regret it. This shop will manipulate your bill, outright lie to you and charge you for stuff you don't even need (not sure if the work even actually go done!) I am now been dealing with the $300 plus overcharge for 2 months! First, they closed it on me, by mail, on the word of the manager who was responsible for overcharging me in the first place, without ever making an attempt to call me! When I continued to contact them, they called me but left a FAX number so I couldn't call them back! Now I'm calling a third time. After they spent 10 minutes saying they couldn't find any case under my name and/or I would have to call the credit card company (what? the credit card company did nothing wrong!), they transferred me to a manager who, surprise, surprise, found my file! However, of course (and it is no longer even shocking), she can't help me and I'll have to call back on Monday. Please avoid this place to save yourself a whole lot of hassle. This is about the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life!
