Home Depot - Promo consumer credit card

I am in the market for a TIG Welder and wanted to buy it online. There I found the promotion for a consumer credit card with an "up to" 100.00 reward.
With the provided card I thought being able to use the 100.00 towards my purchase. After only 25.00 seemed to be applicable on the purchase, I did some research and found out that the conditions of the reward amount are very specific and single use only. To get the full reward, I would have to make a single purchase for 1, 000.00
This is the worst requirement that needs to be fulfilled of any credit card offer I ever applied for!
I would not complain if the reward would be linked to a minimum purchase amount like 25.00 reward for a purchase above 250.00 and the rest will remain for further purchases above this threshold, so e.g. making 4 purchases above 250.00 in a certain time frame would bring me in total to the full 100.00 reward.
But no, the reward is for a single purchase only.

This makes this card basically useless for me or at least reduces the value for me to 25.00 instead of 100.00

I would say that it is some kind of an established banking scenario that credit card offers with an outspoken reward of 100.00 - 350.00 are bound to a purchasing volume in x-amount of time. Therefore I did not even think about that an offer from such a huge company would be different.

Well, it turns out to be a lemon offer and I feel fooled by HD.
HD misuses the trust of their customers as these specific conditions just come up once you are in the checkout process.

Long story short, it is obvious that HD next to Walmart and now also K-mart, want to take a share of the huge success of Amazon. I tried to call HD several times and wasn't able to get a life person on the phone. Also impossible to find an email address for complaints. A combination of such poor customer service together with false luring offers will make this endeavor a dead born child.
Fortunately, there are plenty of alternatives ;-)

I assume that this complaint stays unanswered and say thank you for being a decent supplier so far, but I also say good bye.
