Home Depot - Husky air compressor & the way that the manager treated me

My name is Dwayne Thompson. I would like to first say that if you have a way of telling how long a person have been a customer, you will see that I build my home from Home Depot #151. The store manager knows me as well as many of the associates. My complaint is regarding transaction #6579 05/26/2020. I purchased an air compressor whereas I could restore an old car. The compressor failed. One of the managers named Mark and an associate named Wayne were very nice and kind. They informed me that in the event a replacement part was not available, to return the product. This morning at 9:00am I returned the item to the store. A manager named Susan is the subject of my complaint. She spoke to me in the presence of other customers in a manner that brought tears to my eyes. Visual evidence is compelling. At the customer service desk there are cameras. Anyone who elects to view the footage from that will see that this went horribly wrong. Susan needs to learn the 80/20 rule. Listen 80 % and talk 20%. I believed that I may have interrupted her breakfast or something. Earlier in the week, associate Wayne called me many times with updates on the replacement part with the blessing of manager Mark. It was decided that I would return the product. Full receipt and all paperwork in hand. I was informed on 11/04/2020 that if I had any problems to simple inform Susan of the previous history regarding the compressor. I knew entering the store that Susan would be my contact. Susan was rude, disrespectful and most of all, unprofessional. I ask that someone interview the associates who witnessed this and they will tell you that I, the customer ask her to please be nice. Sad. Another customer who witnessed the incident, apologized for her behavior. I'm a retired Dallas Police Detective and worked Homicide for over 30 years. People in this store know me by name and sight. They say hello "Dwayne" when I enter the store. 18 years ago I entered this store with my blueprints for my home. They did a take off and I brought all of my material short of the brick to build my home. I'm a customer. I shop only at my home depot which is the one in Terrell, Texas. I had to pay an electrician to install the compressor. I payed over $300.00 to have it installed. Susan says to me, just because one BMW brakes doesn't mean that all will. That I know is true but not the kind of thing to say to a customer. My goal this morning was to return the 60 gallon husky item number 911625 and maybe buy a Dewalt. She was not willing to help me with that. I returned the compressor and decided to put some time between my next purchase. At no time did she offer any compensation regarding monies lost on installation. I would have would been happy with anything. Even just a little kindness. I'm saddened by this experience. She has no idea the impact of her actions and that she treated a long standing customer like a piece of [censored]. Again the video is compelling. As I stood waiting. She never even addressed me. No, i'm sorry for your this, or we will make it right. Nothing. Now that I'm retired, I teach at the police academy. I teach the recruits to address the customer to always start off my saying, hello, good morning, how may I help you. Susan did none of that. Please thank Mark, Wayne who unfortunately were off today. Where is a friendly face when you need one. [protected] d.a. [protected]@gmail.com
