A Bank Manager at Woodforest National Bank, 900 Wal-Mart Way, Midlothian, VA 23113 was fired a few weeks ago for cashing checks and keeping it for herself. Isn't that fraud and embezzlement? Isn't that a criminal offense? A crime has been committed and yet this bank manager was ONLY fired! No charges have been filed against her. She is no longer a bank manager, but she is still walking free with just a slap on the wrist and on her "merry" way! Who and what is to prevent her from getting another job at different bank? Are you going to let her steal your hard earned money? What kind of "bank" lets their bank managers steal from them and don't prosecute! Unbelievable and unacceptable!

I have been with this bank for almost 2 years and never had a problem with them personally, so you could imagine my surprise when I saw a $130.00 service fee subtracted from my account for December. I had a checking acct and decided to add a money market saving acct in November, though this account is linked to my checking account they sent me a bank card for the new acct. I recieved a bank statement a few days ago and like I mentioned I saw the $130 charge, so I immediately went into the bank, the manager at this location in Brier Creek in Raleigh, NC was very friendly and instantly knew the problem, he said you have been charged a $10 fee for each withdrawl over 6 on your new acct. I told him I NEVER withdrawl money out of the ATM machine, he then told me ANYtime I use my card thats considered a withdrawl. Well at any other bank that is called a transaction and if I knew that when I went to McDonalds for a $5.00 meal, they would ADD $10 to it I certainly wouldnt use the card. He then told me he was going to call the actual branch I went to and he would get it all taken care of because he knew I was a good customer. He called me and told me so sorry but that bank in Morrisville NC would only give me $65 of my own money back! Its my money, I didnt overdraft, I didnt make a ATM withdrawl, I am contacting the headquarters! I am closing this account out, I heard it had alot of hidden fees but since I always have a few thousand dollars in the bank why would I even worry about this, nothing was explained to me intially. I am very disappointed.
You can't possibly know the exact details because you were not involved. I have nothing but wonderful experiences with Woodforest.
You must be talking about a different location, because there has been a gentleman at that location for several years and he and his staff are a very respectable group. Actually the branch manager opened my account and he has provided some out of this world service to me and my family. I don't think I will go to another bank after my experiences at Woodforest. They helped me set up my direct deposit, provided hands on service to rollover my 401k to their CD. Took care of me in every way possible that no other bank i've dealt with in the past ever done. I've made several mistakes mismanaging my account and yes I've had some overdraft charges, that is no fault other than my own, but they showed me how to overcome this and allowed me to take a GPS course to return several of my fees back; No other bank does this, all big banks will not budge when it comes to returning fees. I'm happy and pleased with my Walmart bank.
