I took my 2013 chrysler town and country in for a transmission fluid service at valvoline on thor in spokane wa on March 19th 2022. I called ahead to verify they did the transmission fluid sevice and when I went in they were nice. But I ended up being there for over a hour because the machine they were using kept "malfunctioning" and they had to restart the machine because of it, but they said it was done I trusted them and so I went on my way.
On may 30th 2022, while in my apartment parking lot, my car started making a really loud whining noise and wouldnt go into gear and all at once my check engine light went on. So I called the local mechanic who said they couldnt get me in till the following week. So I did not touch my car at all because I was absolutely terrified that I'd done something without realizing it. On june 6th 2022 I had to have it towed to a mechanic to do a diagnostic and later in the day they called me and told me my transmission was damaged, when they got it they had to put 4-5qts of fluid in to fill it to proper level but it was still slipping and going conpletely out of gear. Then they said when they pulled the car fax they saw the service done in march for my transmission fluid and that I needed to call the shop who did it as they should be responsible for fixing it. That all signs pointed to the shop failing to properly fill the transmission fluid. I asked what they meant and they said that that they looked over and over again and could not find any leaks to account for the amount of fluid missing and everything they saw pointed to the last shop (valvoline) failed to properly fill my transmission fluid all the way and it caused irreparable damage. I Called valvoline and filed a damage claim and they were all nice over the phone the manager assured me that if this was their fault they would fix the damage. The next day the manager called me back and said they would not fix it because it had been 3months and 3k miles since the fluid sevice.
Now if it was an oil change I could understand the 3 month 3k miles as a oil change is recommended every 3-4k miles, but this wasnt an oil change it was a transmission fluid servce which is recommended every 30k-50k with my vehicle. So as there are no leaks then the fluid, (if it had been properly filled up in the first place) should not have lost 4-5 quarts of tranmission fluid in 3months. I'm beyond upset and want this made right.
Desired outcome: An apology for the absolute lack of integrity and morality on behalf of their company, a refund for the service which was not done properly in the first place, for valvoline to fix the damages done to my vehicle due to their negligence.
