unethical behaviour
as I have brought product from vallygirl(blacktown store). I tried to exchange the product as the product was defective . when I first went to store 1st day they told me that their system is not working and they wont able to exchange it but come next day and they will exchange it and I can even get my money back, but when I went next day they refuse to exchange product rather told that it was used multiple time as I have already purchased it they wont exchange it again. when I told that I have been there previous day and they agreed to exchange it, they provided excuse that they don't know about it and they wont exchange it and avoided me.
clothing
In november I purchased a pair of shorts at temt in adelaide. Some weeks ago I noticed that the seams on both legs had split. I returned the shorts to the store a couple of weeks ago but the manager said she could do nothing about them as I had bought them over 3 months ago.
I contacted the office of business and consumer affairs in adelaide and they said I could return them to the store and ask for them to be returned to the manufacturer for repair or replacement.
I subsequently contacted your! 800 number and was told to send you this email.
Under sa law you are required to do what the consumer affairs office said otherwise you are not complying with sa laws.

online store & workers
Had an appalling experience with Valleygirl recently. I ordered 3 items online and only received 2. Turns out one of them was out of stock - how hard is it to mention this on the website? So I decided to call the other stores to see if they have it. I called Market City who didn't have it and the lady wouldn't even tell me if the other stores had it or not. So then I had to call Castle Towers and the lady was SO RUDE on the phone - ruined my mood "let me finish what I'm saying before you interrupt me"- no I was not interrupting you, I was specifying what item I was after so that the search is made easier for you. She ended up giving me an essay about all the colours and sizes of that item when I already knew what I wanted - a Small size in the white - but apparently I was "interrupting" what she was saying.
customer service
I was shopping at morayfield valley girl and the appalling conduct by one of the employees named "Kim" was disgusting. She was chatting to what looked like her friend and ignored me standing waiting at the register for about 5 minutes, mind you new I was waiting in line. Furthermore her attitude was disgraceful when she served me. I will never return to shop at valleygirl at morayfield again. You really need to pick people for there attributes to the work place not because they wear skimpy clothes.
appalling customer service!
I was at Elizabeth Valley Girl and the employee on (short red/orange hair) asked how I went with my items before I could finish answering her she dismissed me. I think she was VERY RUDE.! I don't care if you don't actually wanna know how I went with the clothes but don't ask in the first place to only cut me off and turn your back on me. I persuade with my $55 purchase but I was very close to putting everything back due to the bad customer service provided!
rude, arrogant and racist customer service
I would like to express my experience as well as to point out the most awful and nasty costumer service I have ever experienced at ValleyGirl at northland victoria. Today me and my wife visited the valleygirl store in northland victoria. we picked a few dresses for her to try sizes. once we brought the clothes back to rack after trying one of the workers walked andrudely told us off to hang the clothes back in hanger . I let it go thinking may be she had a hard day and we went to try some more and next time i could see her coming back to me and speaking loud and saying you couldnt hang them and had a rude tone with a bad look. looks like she isnt happy to work or isnt paid enough to treat the customers well and perform her duties. I could see other people doing the same but she had a pick on us 2 times. never going back to such a rude and arogant staff store. I am sure its part of there job to hang the clothes back instead of being rude and trying to yell at people for it. Never recommendig the store to anyone or even if someone asks i will them to stay away from such a nasty and arrogant staff
I don't think it is right for people to play the racist card while ignoring the fact that they can be rude, and lack consideration by expecting others to pick up after them like children. There is an expectation of respect to retail workers in Australia, perhaps you should look in the mirror.
wrongly priced item
Hello im writing because i am very disappointed after shopping at Valley Girl Airport West on Thursday 9th November 2017.
I chose a top from the clearance rack marked 6.95 my item was marked as such as were 3 other identical items. I tried top on was happy and went to sales desk to pay. I was told item not on sale for 6.95 but when i showed her there were 3 other tops marked the same she told me they had been mistakenly marked down to 6.95 and i could not hav e it for that price when asked to speak to manager i was told manager would say the same. Very unhappy!
customer service
Went into the Westfield Marion store last week tuesday and was not acknowledged when i first asked for help by a brunette girl, then proceed to go to the check outs where i was spoken extremely rudely to by the same girl. My clothes were not folded and shoved in a ball in the bag and was not given a a docket for my order. I will not be returning to this store again.

Today my daughter and I visited the Valley Girl sore in Albury NSW.
We were ignored despite trying on and having to find sizes the person in the store did not offer to help, or make us feel welcome. The person and I don't know name did not make any contact with anyone at all in the shop. This occurred at around 4:30pm.
I very loudly announced that we were leaving as we were not being attended to and again we were ignored. We will not be returning and I will also advise anyone else that the service is non existent.
buying policy
Hi,
I bought a Trouser and while on my way out, I saw one pants on Sale, and took it to the Counter to confirm its Price.
The lady scanned the Pants and the price was more then what I expected, so I said I don’t want it.
But the lady on the counter said, once a thing is scanned, we can’t cancel it.
This is our policy and you have to buy it. I tried to explain her but she was adamant and forced me to pay for it, even I did not want to buy it.
She said first you pay and then if you don’t want it, we will give you a voucher . What kind of policy is this?
It was so embarrassing to buy something which u didn’t wanted to.
My 8 month daughter started crying, so I had no option, but to buy it. The money was for her food, but I had to go back to ATM again to withdraw money .
I am a regular Customer and go there almost once in a week, but not sure, if I will ever go there again.
westfields-liverpool. incharge young asian lady = rude and intolerant.
I would like to express my experience as well as to point out the most awful and nasty costumer service I have ever experienced at ValleyGirl in Westfield - Liverpool. The girl in charge refused to provide her name but her physical description is Asian with a very arrogant and condensending attitude towards costumers.
She actually threw at me the bag with the items I bought at this shop. She raised her voice at me and embarrassed me in front of all the people waiting in line. She did not like the fact that I asked her for the price of an item twice as I have hearing disability. It is shocking to see such a little (in stature) woman with such huge despicable attitude and costumer service skills.
Shame on who ever run that shop because he/she does not know the kind of retail worker operate in the shop. I will never return again and I will spread my word towards many people as possible. I would not like any disable person to feel the same way this young lady made me feel by her treatment. It is not ethical or professional! I can't not believe she behave this way. I don't care she hates her job or if she had a bad day! Why did I have to pay for it?
As a costumer I went there to spend my money not to beg for anything. You can't provide a nasty service to costumers when they are the ones who actually lift up your sales, brand and reputation.
I hope anyone remind this young ladie that she is being pay not only to scan products and give change but also to represent the brand, provide a welcoming environment to clients of any colour, shape or appearance in order to guarantee their return to shop and to print a good concept of retailing experience at ValleyGirl.
Regards,
Unhappy costumer
very unhappy customer
My sister in law bought my daughter a jacket for $60 and only gave it to my daughter on the weekend for her birthday, it doesnt fit and because she purchased it in March, there is nothing we can do so we are stuck with a jacket that does not fit, will never purchase anything from this shop and neither will my sister in law, will also advise everyone we know never to prurchase from here
faulty clothing
I purchased a top from the Harbortown outlet which was on sale. I had saved the money for petrol to go there and have previously always been happy. My top a red choker style one was lovely and there were many in the store (size 10) I got my purchase home (over 80kms away) to find that the back seam had not even been overlocked properly. I took this to a dressmaker and paid her to fix as it is a beautiful top she then ironed it to return to me and found that the sleeve was pulling out This item had been very poorly made, nothing like I had ever experienced from this store It was reduced but not marked faulty and the petrol to drive back was out of my reach
customer service
I visited valley girl at Parkmore Shopping Centre on May 18th at roughly 4pm. Firstly, I was not greeted by any of th team members, although there were two standing behin the counter chatting away, I needed assistance with sizing and i was rudely told that the sizes are what's there. When I asked the sale representative to check with another store I was again rudely given the style number and then told to call the stores up my self!
I had a few items to try on and when I asked to try then on i was told to just walk through. When I did walk through to the change rooms the rooms we're all locked and when i asked for assistance i was told to 'just use the room on the far left' in a very blunt and aggravated manner. The room on the far left was actually a room with access to the back room and was filled with boxes!
I left my items and told the representatives that I was extremely unhappy with their service and that i wouldn't be writing a complaint, they both giggled and laughed and did not pay attention to my frustration.
I am extremely disappointed with the way I was treated and the very poor service i received. I do not believe any customer should be treated like this as this form of treatment is considered public defamation.
I would like this matter dealt with and i to be advised of the actions taken.
Thanks & regards,
Sarah
customer service
Today my mum and I walked into Valleygirl and 2 staff members looked at us, and walked the other way. I work in retail and I know that customer service is mandatory and making the customers feel welcomed is very important for the stores business. We did not receive this in store. We dismissed the rudeness and continued to shop. We waited a long time at the fitting rooms, and again received no customer service. She opened the fitting room and left. Once again at the register we were not even spoken to at all. I am a regular shopper at valleygirl and have witnessed this on many occasions. The looks the girls were giving my mum were also very unsettling
birthday gifts for my daughter can't be swapped without receipt
Hi,
I live in Melbourne. My mother in Queensland bought 3 items from Valley Girl. A top, a skirt and shorts. The skirt and shorts are too big and she has stopped growing. My daughter went to the store in Doncaster to swap the items for something else and despite having the tags still on the items they said they needed the receipt. This is ridiculous. My mother no longer has the receipt and had paid cash.
service
To whom it may concern.
I ordered some shorts from the valley girl online store. When I received them the zipper was broken. I phoned the customer service Center and they told me to go into a valley girl store, and ask them to call head office and they will send the store an email so they could do an exchange for me. When I got to the store the girl called head office and they told her that they wouldn't send an email. They told me I would have to contact the online store and send them back. This was very inconvenient for me as I came all the way to the store and also because I would have to pay the shipping fee to send them back. When it was sent to me faulty! All I wanted was to exchange them for something else. I asked to speak to the manager and I was told there was nothing they could do. So I asked if they could call the customer service department so I could speak to someone. When I call I spoke to an extremely rude and unprofessional person called Simon! I asked Simon to please help me or if I could speak to a manager and he bluntly told me NO! I asked Simon if there was someone else that I could speak with as Simon was being completely rude, disrespectful, unprofessional and extremely unhelpful. Simon then said there is someone else I could talk to but he wasn't going to let me. I said I have a right to speak with someone else as I am a customer and that he was not helping me. Simon then said " Sorry no you don't!" I told him I could call consumer affairs and report this. Simon then laughed at me down the phone, and then started to mock me by saying "oh no I'm so scared" and "oh no consumer affairs I'm terrified" whilst laughing at me. I told the girl at the store he is laughing at me. This is so unprofessional and completely and utterly RUDE! He then hung up on me! I could not believe how I was being treated as a paying customer. I called back and asked again to speak to someone other that Simon as he was obviously incompetent and very immature. Simon laughed again and told me again no! The girl at the store called her manager and I spoke with her and she said she would try and sort something out and she would call back. When she called back she said that I would have to exchange them online and pay the shipping fee. I told her why should I pay the shipping fee as this was sent to me faulty. I was getting no where with the valley girl staff so I left in tears! I phoned consumer affairs and spoke with someone that was finally helpful. So I am emailing to let you know how upset, and unhappy I am. I have reported valley girl, to consumer affairs. I can not believe how disgusting and unprofessional your staff is! ESPECIALLY SIMON! I will NEVER purchase anything from vally girl again ( and I used to spend a lot of money there) plus I will be telling everyone about this experience! I have also contacted my lawyer who is going to investigate this for me. Simon is the most incompetent, revolting, unprofessional person I have ever dealt with in retail! And it's very tacky and cheap to have someone with such low standards of customer service representing your business! Please note I will be pursuing this matter with consumer affairs and my lawyer. I am also going to go to the media and let everyone know this is the service you receive from vally girl. Absolutely rude and disrespectful treatment!
customer service
30/1/17 4.30pm to 5. Pm (Approx) at fremantle wa australia valley girl shop.
I was in the shop at that time picked up clothing to try...
. Lady in charge at shop mopped the change room and blocked access to same. When enquired she said it will take 2 hrs to dry and that the shop will close in 1/2 hrs time.
. I was so stunned ! Asked her why she didn't notify me when I was browsing and picking up clothes as I wouldn't have bothered if unable to try the clothes.
. She said she had to leave on time to pick her son up. (I had no problem with that but if only she told me earlier)
. I ask if she's manager she said she's assistant manage. She said she couldn't give me her name.
Appeal you to investigate looking at the cameras during those time. Much appreciated.
refund
I purchased a skirt and top today from the karrinyup valley girl outlet and spoke to the girl there about how i was unsure of the items and wanted to try them with the shoes/jewellery I had in mind. She guaranteed me if I changed my mind I could bring the items back and get an exchange OR refund. I decided the items werent for me and went to my closer store, innaloo and spoke to the manager who told me that it didn't matter what I'd been told, I had no option for refund and could swap for something there or keep the unwanted items. She was not only unhelpful but I honestly felt like she enjoyed telling me no. She was the manager of the store and her name was Tina, she has guaranteed I won't be considering valleygirl for any future purchases and also angered me to the point I will send this, call your head office and also follow up with consumer affairs. To be so money hungry to not refund a simple $35 and guarantee an unhappy customer is horrendous. I hope you investigate further with future employee backgrounds and start hiring staff with some understanding of customer service. Absolutely disgusted, 1/10
employee
On Wednesday 20.1.16 I arrived at Valley Girl at 9.10am to exchange one of the many items I had purchased on Monday 18.1.16. I had my receipt but the tag that was attached was the wrong tag! I must have thrown the wrong tag in whilst trying on the many clothes I had bought on the Monday. The young lady told me that she could see it was on the receipt but cannot allow me to exchange because I did not have the right tag! She questioned why I would take the tag off in the first place. I asked to speak to the manager of which the manager said she would exchange only this once. I was made to feel like a criminal to say the least. I chose the item to exchange but when I went to the counter I was met by the girl ( sorry don't know her name but she was the only employee there other than the manager) whom grabbed my item put it in a bag and just about threw it in my face and walked away. I did not want to create a scene as I am not that sort of person. However, I nearly walked back to do so. I am 52 years of age and I have been buying from your store on a monthly basis since you began at Westpoint. I was also employes by Westpoint in the Promotions Department many years ago. I am now a teacher and pride myself in instilling good manners and respect in my students. To tell you the truth I am totally appalled by this rude and clearly angst woman whom did not like the fact that the manager had allowed me to exchange my item. I understand there are rules that the employees must adhere to and she was following these procedures but her talking down as well as tone of voice was Unprofessional. I would have thought a receipt to exchange an item was legal. However, I will confirm this with consumer affairs. I must also add that for about the last year and a half I have noticed that your staff are not as friendly as they once were. I can remember a time when it was a pleasure to walk into the store and be greeted by a friendly face. Your employees seem to be of a stern and stressed state. Your sincerely, Bronwen Lea Heap ms.[protected]@yahoo.com.au
